Came by again and indulged on their tiramisu, Nutella pastry and sponge cake. We had to take the rest home cuz we couldn't finish it all!

financiers, scones, and so much more!

I've been intending to check out Sweet Passion Bakery for a bit minute, but it's so far, almost to Ocean Beach! Anyways, I needed to pick up some treats for a watch party with friends, so I stopped by when I had a break from work. I originally planned to get their scones, but when I saw them in person, they were massive, and I wonted more petite bites, so I opted for a small box of financiers and some bite-sized sesame cookies instead. The guy helping me at the counter calculated my sum using an old-school calculator, but I was able to pay using Apple Pay. They accept all the standard credit cards here. My cell reception was inconsistent at the bakery, so I didn't see the credit card charge push notification until I walked outside. That's when I noticed I was overcharged by $11. I went back inside and waited in line again. The guy seemed slightly confused when I showed him the transaction on my phone, but he agreed with me that I was overcharged by $11 and handed me $11 in cash on the spot. I really appreciate the care and service by the staff here, makes me want to come back and support.

    Beef pastie $10.75

What no one is talking about is the beef pastie here for $10.75 SERIOUS YUM! When you discover a rare Irish + Chinese bakery, you gotta go for the biggest item on display and that's definitely a hefty beef pastie -- it wasn't until I cut open this thing that I realize it's COMPLETELY STUFFED -- no wonder it felt like it weighed a pound. I'm amazed they didnt use any potato and vegetable filler! All that meaty juiciness was delicious with every bite perfectly seasoned. Although it's a cozy bakery, the service was excellent, friendly, and efficient. They now take credit card payments if you don't have cash handy. I was there at 3pm on Saturday and they were still graciously open and even gave me a FREE blueberry scone on the house! I also tried the beef sausage roll $6.50 and the chicken katsu bun. I'll definitely be back for that beef pastie!!

This bakery has a vast amount of options. The katsu sandwich is a must try. Very friendly staff!

    Irish Bread....already half gone lol

My experience here was sooo great. From the moment I walked in I was treated so well. The customer service here is beyond amazing. I came in looking only for Irish bread but left with a bag full of other pastries. I tried their potato bread, beef rolls, and pork rolls. It allllll tasted so good. We ate up literally everything I bought within two days. This was the best Irish Bread I've ever had. It was full of yummy raisins and tasted soooo delightful when toasted a bit with butter. For anyone looking for Irish Bread please stop here. It will now be my go to for it!

I've officially been banned from every dating app known to mankind -- Hinge, Tinder, Bumble, all of them. But honestly? You don't need dating platforms when you have Yelp. Because Yelp, not Cupid, helped me find love in a truly hopeless place: Sweet Passion Bakery. This Asian/Irish fusion bakery really does bring the best of both worlds straight to your taste buds. Small and humble inside they have a large variety of goods to choose from. Sadly, some of the pastries I wanted weren't available since their Irish baker was off that day (respectfully, please come back, sir). I ended up grabbing the Chicken Katsu Sandwich, two Spam & egg buns, and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The bread here is ridiculously fresh -- soft, slightly sweet, and perfect with anything savory. The Spam & egg bun was the ideal grab-and-go snack, and the furikake added the perfect extra hit of umami. The Vietnamese iced coffee? Cold, refreshing, and packed with a deep, bold flavor. But the star of the show... the Chicken Katsu Sandwich. Hands down the best I've ever had in my life. The bread was toasted to absolute perfection, and the chicken was so crispy outside yet so tender inside it practically melted in my mouth. Plus, the spicy mayo, tomatoes, and gooey over-easy egg took it completely over the top. It was so satisfying and surprisingly easy to eat -- kept me full all the way until a late dinner. Our experience was so good we're already planning to come back tomorrow. Until then, their baked goods will be living rent-free in our minds... passionately.

my favorite bakery on taraval, the pork buns are to die for and the staff is always super friendly. Moved here 8 months ago and it's one of my most frequented spots. great for an early morning grab and go when you're heading for work or on a walk.

    Chicken katsu with egg

I got the chicken katsu and egg on a bun. Ready made. They were nice to heat up. Tiny bit of Sriracha. Some people came in and left. I think they have more selections of their baked goods in the morning. Also, they close on Monday , so why make more. Nice tables to sit and eat.

    Long hair cooked in pie

I really wanted to be a regular at this bakery. I was going weekly and enjoying the different things that I would buy. But a few weeks ago, I got a mini rhubarb pie and found a long hair in it! Luckily, I was eating it with a fork and it came up in the first bite, so I didn't eat any, but it completely turned me off from ever buying anything there, again.

Ambiance: It's bright and clean with a few tables and chairs to hang out with your friends, while you're having your snacks. Noise levels are also pretty low, but I'm sure it depends on how many patrons or who is in the shop. Service: The owner is very nice and will also ask if you want certain items heated up. Food: Everything is made fresh in house and the prices are so much better than some of the neighboring shops. Four dollars for a down spam and egg bun?! Under $3 for a hot dog bao? Sign me up! The buns are soft and fluffy and a little sweet on top, which is just perfect for the savory sweet palate that i prefer. I ended with the walnut cookie, which is a sizeable portion. I grabbed 3 items for under $10. I think that's super affordable, considering that there's meat and a fried egg in one of the sandwiches. I think this is one of the best places to go in the neighborhood if you're looking for sandwiches that aren't $10+ - they have other substantial looking meat items that i have yet to try. Woman minority owned business. Shop local and love this spot!

Happened into Sweet Passion Bakery this morning (tucked quietly away on Taraval Street across from Walgreens and next door to Andy Town Coffee) and absolutely LOVED our new find! I especially appreciate the bit of "Yin Yang" food ... meaning, a bit of Eastern (Chinese) food and a bit of Western food and drinks. Two people were running the place: a woman and a young man. Both were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! I enjoyed a Barbequed Pork Bun and an [off the menu] "Yin Yang Milk Tea". (Yin Yang Milk Tea is a Hong Kong Milk Tea with a bit of Coffee.) Both were super yummy! The Pork Bun has a generous amount of meat that was seasoned wonderfully. The Pork was yummy and lean ... no chunks of fat, and the bread was soft and fresh. Perfect!!! The others in our party ordered Spam and Egg Bun, Coconut Bun, and a Plain Bun. We all loved what we ordered as we enjoyed all the locals and the regulars that popped in and out. Seating was limited and the atmosphere relaxed. We weren't rushed at all and enjoyed a lazy Sunday morning impromptu catch up over coffee and delicious snacks with good friends. I will definitely come back. I loved the food, drink, and prices. Everything seemed to be cooked fresh there; the people are nice and friendly; easy parking; and clean. If you go, ask about things that are not listed. For example, I didn't know about the Yin Yang Milk Tea until I heard a regular order it. In addition, they had Almond Croissants that they brought out fresh and hot after another regular ordered it. So they are full of delicious secrets yet to be discovered!!! For those who know me, I used to have a "go-to" coffee chain that I loved. But since the pandemic, their business model has changed and it's not as fun nor worthwhile for me to go there. I LOVE finding solid "Mom and Pop" small businesses like these where it seems like people are making an honest living ... working hard, helping the community, offering quality products at fair prices. One and only drawback for me: like with many small businesses, there's no public restroom ... so I couldn't stay THAT long!!! Thank you so much to the wonderful woman and the young man today for providing us such a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!

Small, cozy spaces where the owner knows their customers and have a heavy flow of locals have a special place in my heart. While I don't get to the Outer Sunset so much these days, I was there recently for a very early Sunday morning soccer match. Craving something local, I popped in here after browsing some other spots... including some of the "well-known" spots around. This place reminded me of some other small spots in NYC and Miami with an eclectic mix of food items... sausage rolls, curry pasties, potato bread goodies, and a wide assortment of pastries. The owner clearly knew the folx who were coming in, calling most by name. While the rolls & pasties looked soooo good, I couldn't pull my eyes away from the egg + cheese + bacon + ham croissant, it looked insane, in the very best way. When I asked for it, the owner asked me if it was ok that it had Siracha... divine! This breakfast croissant was epic. She warmed it up for me and it was nice and crispy, the tanginess of the melted cheese + Siracha, paired with the flavor explosion of the egg + ham + bacon... Anthony B would have loved this spot. Sidenote... a regular came on to order a bunch of goodies and the owner explained that she had an assortment of moon cakes given the season. This is that local + ethnic + eclectic vibe that I love. I'll be back.

Does the soda bread come with golden raisins?

Do they sell Irish Soda bread year-round?

As long as John Campbell is there baking, they have lots of Irish goodies including scones, brown bread, sausage rolls, shepherds pie and soda bread all the time! The soda bread is really good too!

Are the pork buns and pineapple buns available as early as when you open?

The pork buns yes! Haven't tried the pineapple buns yet.

Does anyone know their new number? I tried calling, but it says the number has changed. Thanks

There is also a BOGO, of which it's supposed to be one offer per customer but someone bragged about having done four. The line snaked from heytea, down towards Whole Foods, and back towards Onigily, and then coiled towards Wanpo. There were several security guards ensuring the retail store entrances remained accessible, keeping people from sitting on store fronts, and stopping people from cutting the line. An employee came out to offer water cups to the front of the line, and another came to help customers start circling what they wanted on the flyer. I got to the cashier at 2:40 pm, then received my order by 2:55 pm and collected my magnet. I think it was ran as smoothly as it could be but I wish the several staff we had interacted with thanked us for enduring the wait. Instead the guy I collected the magnet from just told me to take a lot of pictures and share online - zero thanks for coming out, thanks for waiting, hope you enjoy, please come back. I'm sure all the staff are really stressed out too but a little human touch with the interaction would go a long way. This line wasn't worth a $8 saving and a collectible magnet, but it was 99% Asian community coming out excited and supporting boba/tea. So many passerby ask us what the line was for, and when they learned it was just for BOGO, they would scoff and say it wasn't worth the wait. The coconut mango boom and crisp grape boom were excellent with real fruit chunks. Security guards said although the mall opens at 10 am, they will not allow people to line up at the store prior, but they may have a barricade line outside or something. They also said no chairs are allowed. I recommend getting here early as I feel if I arrived 1 hour early, I may only have had to wait 1-2 hours rather than 4 hours. Or just wait for things to calm down, there's a heytea in Westlake Daly City and Metreon SF where you can just order ahead
