My boyfriend and happened to wander in this restaurant after we searched for a sushi place. We were greeted by a nice staff member who sat us immediately. It was 10:30 pm so we expected them to close soon, but they are open until midnight during the weekend. The specials looked so good, so we both got one and split them. The chicken parm was good, but I did get a few bites of rubbery pieces. The rest of the meal made up for it. The calamari was amazing and you HAVE to try their Sangria! I wanted to take some of that home with me. Our waiter James was very sweet and on top of everthing. Went here with for lunch with a group of women from work-there were 7 of us and the service was great! Everyone was happy with their food. The garlic bread is a lot like Texas Toast-very buttery but delicious. Salad dressings were notably good-they served them family style so we could all try different kinds, including the tomato basil which was a cold tomato dressing. Good, but unusual. I ordered the Gnocchi with red sauce, which was very oily but otherwise good. I also had the cappuccino pie for dessert, which I would definitely order again. Heard about this place from online reviews which all say it was a good place to visit. When me and my wife went on 3/8 we seen that everybody was right about this place. I made a reservation for eight people for lunch on a Monday on the restaurant's online reservation system (they are not on Open Table). When we arrived, the table was not ready and they had not seen my reservation. Apparently, the restaurant has a very large group that comes every Monday so they are very busy. Our waiter was not Mr. Personality by any means. Regardless of those two shortcomings, the food was delicious and it came out quickly. The hot garlic bread was perfect - crusty on the edges, soft in the middle - and it kept coming as much as we wanted. I had the chicken parmesian and loved every bite of it. It was large enough that I saved half and had the rest the next day, but I'm a light eater. I also like the fact that they have their own dedicated parking lot since parking in Uptown can be tricky sometimes. read more

The food has always been very good, the value is outstanding, and the staff are always eager to please. I was thrilled, recently when our Networking group moved our luncheon there - as I get to eat there every Monday now! Yay for me! This is the standard that I compare all Italian food. I LOVE this restaurant and have been going to eat there for the last 16 years!! Their old location was tucked away and quirky, but I love this location even more. We regularly drive from the mid-cities 30 minutes to eat here and it's the first place we go when my daughter returns home on college breaks. The baked ravioli and baked Mostaccioli are amazing. It's the fresh herbs they grow out back and the balance of the sauce (rich and complex) that set this apart from everywhere else. We love the minestrone soup as well. Not your typical red bland soup. This is full of veggies and my kids LOVE it! (we are not big veggie eaters so this is saying A LOT) I've eaten Italian across the US, Mexico, and Caribbean. I travel to NYC monthly and have yet to find something that makes we want to drive across town and eat there. I don't miss any restaurants in NYC, but sure do miss when I haven't eaten at Cremona's in a while! You certainly won't get bad food eating here and I suspect you will find a new favorite!! read more

I went to Cremona one Friday night for a late (10:30ish) dinner after some beers and fun at the Ginger Man and it was really good. There were four of us and the restaurant was pretty empty so there was no problem getting a table. We ordered a bottle of wine and they brought out some garlic bread which was pretty dang good and it also helped soak up some of the European beer we had consumed. I ordered the tortellini and was pleased, the noodles were fresh and the sauce was delicious. Even my buddy that grew up in New York eating Italian food was impressed, so that means something right? We split the bill evenly and it was about $25 per person, not bad. read more

I think this place is great food, cheap and comforting. This is an excellent lunch deal. You get garlic bread they just keep bringing, salad and pasta for around $7-10. I attended a lunch meeting here for the first time today. The staff and service was very attentive. Things got a little crowded when our meals arrived, but it was worth it. The spaghetti bolonese was savory with delicate meatballs. Lunch started with a Coke and a beautiful salad with a wonderful tomato dressing. First off the service was wonderful and the prices were very reasonable. Wonderful atmosphere inside. We sat along the windows at a table for two which was cozy. Hot, crisp bread was delivered to the table which was a yummy beginning and ending to the meal. It was wonderful with the leftover sauce on the plate. Nice salads to start the lunch. I enjoyed the creamy Italian dressing. We ordered lasagna and the Cremona's combination meals. The mixture of red and white sauce was nice. Meals were tasty. I loved this place after my first visit. Great food, great atmosphere. I've only been there with friends and then last night with family, but it would be a fantastic place for a date--low lighting, intimate, good wine and good food. It's in a funny location, kind of tucked away, so it's easy to miss, but please go try it! They have a fabulous patio that's nice when the weather is not too hot. Free endless hot garlic bread is what makes Cremona the best. The Italian food here is reasonably priced, but it wasn't the best Spaghetti with Italian Sausage I'd ever had. On the house salad that comes with most entrees, try the Tomato Basil dressing; you won't regret it. The atmosphere is homey and the wait staff is kind and efficient. Cute little Italian restaurant tucked into uptown. Amazing never ending garlic bread! The wait staff is very professional and added a great touch to the whole experience. We went on a Friday night and they weren't too busy but it seemed that most of the people that were there were regulars. It had a nice unhurried feel to the place too which is reminiscent of restaurants in Italy. Only four stars since I wasn't thrilled with the ravioli (in their defense, I made a substitution so my fault). My husband's pizza was great! I found this restaurant on a social media site it looked so quaint that we decided to try it. Now when you are traveling on business and not familiar with the area you always take a chance sometimes it works out. This was one off those sometimes. The atmosphere was charming. Went there last night to celebrate my birthday. When I called and made a reservation whomever answered was super nice and were able to accommodate a last minute party of 9 (the other place we wanted to go to was closed for some reason). Upon arrival I enjoyed the coziness /homey feel to the restaurant. All of the food I tried was great we had mussels and calamari as appetizers. I usually don't care for mussels with a red sauce but this sauce was GOOD you could really get the roasted garlic flavor. Our salads and entrees were exceptional. The wine prices are not bad 2 bottles of shirts for 50 bucks. My only complaint would be service. Although he was nice, our waited never formally introduced himself when we were sat. Didn't really engage with us and at times we had questions over the menu but were not given the chance to even ask. I worked many years in the service industry and a lot of times I let things slide and say I know what it feels like when guest do certain things but it just kind of made me feel as if we should hurry and order. That's my only reason for bringing it 2 stars down. It's not crazy expensive but for the prices I believe a little more service is expected. read more

The bread is a buttery, garlic soaked crisp, which is great unless your watching your diet. I'd pass on the creamy italian salad dressing if I go again. Very charming! My husband and I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there was a keyboard player right next to us playing soft, romantic music but not loud at all. It was lovely. Unfortunately I totally forgot to take a picture of our entrées but they were delicious! We had chicken piccata, chicken marsala and cannelloni. I've been a Cremona fan since before the fire at the prior location behind Texas de Brazil. I've eaten at Cremona off and on for years. Every single meal has been excellent. The service is always friendly and attentive. The pasta has always been perfectly cooked and tender. It is a lovely little setting, that can even be a tad on the romantic side. My only wish is that they add a real Caesar salad to their menu. I strongly suggest you try this gem, they even have their own free parking lot which is such a plus in the uptown area! My girlfriend requested pasta one night and she found Cremona on yelp. It is only 2 blocks from where we live, and it had good ratings so we decided to try it out. I am not a big fan of eating out now, mainly because of money (spending too much in Dallas) and health reasons, but I was hungover and did not feel like cooking. We were very surprised with Cremona. The atmosphere was very nice and quiet. Our server was very friendly and helpful. They looked to have a good wine menu, however, we did not get a bottle. I did see others around us that were drinking wine and it did look good. My girlfriend ordered the angel hair pasta with vegetables and a cream sauce, pretty much she combined a few things on the menu. I was between the angel hair shrimp scampi and baked ravioli, which I ordered the ravioli. The meals came with a soup or salad, my girlfriend got the soup that night and got the Caesar salad. The salad was fantastic! The Caesar dressing was more of a mayonnaise base and not acidic, and it was not drenched all over the salad. The soup was their house Italian soup, I believe, which was good but my girlfriend said she wished she got the Caesar salad after. They did bring out garlic bread to snack and it was very good as well. It was just a simple loaf sliced into thin slices, toasted with garlic butter and salt, simple and good! Our dished came out soon after, we did not wait long. The angel hair portions were big and it was perfect for my girlfriend. The sauce was light but still creamy. There were plenty of veggies in each bite. She could not finish her plate but we took it home and saved it for lunch the next day, which it was just as good. My baked ravioli was awesome! There were 6 or 7 ravioli's drenched in there homemade meat sauce, with a slice of mozzarella cooked with it in the middle. The sauce was great! It did not taste too salty. There was plenty left after to eat it with the garlic bread. The meal was not heavy at all. It filled me up just right. We were pleasantly surprised with everything about Cremona. I have lived in Dallas for about 5 years now and have not been to a great Italian place. I ma very glad we went there and will definitely be going back. I will try the angel hair shrimp scampi next. I wanted to love this place... I really did! It had all the makings of a place you could call your fave, but I just didn't leave loving it. I sure tried my best though... The owners are great, super friendly Italian family. I love the location it's kinda like a hidden gem you have fun exploring, and for that it was a pretty positive experience, but I couldn't get over how the food was so lackluster! A girlfriend and I were craving some Italian food after a good workout at the gym... we normally head to our staples of Taverna or Patrizio's but I had remember seeing this Italian restaurant right off McKinney right by where I used to live. So we venture on in and it has lots of promise. The hostess is nice, our server is very attentive, and we LOVE the prices on the menu :) We settle on a few glasses of wine and they are very nice pours. SCORE! We order and the waiter brings us some garlic toasts. They were nice and toasty and buttery, but I wanted a bit more salt. Pretty much I wanted a lot of salt on everything... My pasta and chicken dish was pretty good, but it wasn't anything special... Her Manicotta was tasty but she said it was chock full of way too much cheese. Overall, we had a great time, but we left wanted a bit more from the quaint and cute little Italian restaurant we had found. I'll have to give them another try... I LOVE CREMONA's. This has been my birthday restaurant of choice since the '80's when they were on Routh St. So glad they are still around in 2014. I love their Veal / Chicken Picatta and/or Cartciofino; their salads with house dressing; and their warm garlic toast to name a few. I've been for lunch and dinner and always consider it such a treat to eat at this wonderful restaurant. It is absolutely one of my all time favorite places. read more
