Located in Bishop Arts, so IYKYK what parking is going to be like. However there is a valet across the street. This little spot use to be the lemonade place, however they have done a wonderful job recreating the space. Is intimate, great for a first date, a glass of wine, a girl friends gathering . . . And they serve food. I came with a large group of girlfriends for a Christmas party. We gathered at 7pm and I don't know if my hostess told them to wait but it was an hour before we ordered food but the food came out rather quickly. I ordered the pot roast and although the meat was TEN-DER, the meal itself lacked seasoning. I was told the roast was cooked in a Mississippi pot roast style, however besides seeing the pepperoncini, I wouldn't have known. The mashed potatoes lacked seasoning and it all felt a little greasy to me (too much butter which I never thought I would EVER say!). The staff were really nice and accommodating. I missed the sign that says fee for using credit card, but it was a small fee, but just so you know. There is a backyard/porch area as well. So a nice spot as the weather gets nicer and who doesn't love options. I will say I was eyeballing the salad - it was a nice portion size that could be shared. I was disappointed by the cost of the bread and the size of that but that's just me. Overall I'd give it another try. read more

Came here late on a Friday after a book event at the Wild Detective next door because we noticed the kitchen is open until midnight. The food here is surprisingly good! I loved the terrine w rabbit and pork cheek, and the applesauce and mustard accompaniment paired really well. The caponata toast was amazing - the eggplant, tomatoes, burrata, capers and several herbs were well seasoned and there were so many complementary flavors in every bite. The cheesecake is excellent as well. Ambience is terrific with a good jazz soundtrack in the background and nice lighting. And the service is fantastic, as well. River was the bartender and she was also our server. When my wife was waffling on what wine to go with, she brought out three recommendations and we went with a very nice Mexican Cabernet . Such a cute, little wine bar in Bishop Arts. The setting is intimate, with a few tables inside and out; I'd say it's most suitable for parties of 4 or less. The server suggested an excellent wine pairing based on our preference and the dishes we ordered. The dishes are tapa style, great for sharing. Highlights include: blue prawns, marsala and pot roast. The prawns were really substantial, dipped in an awesome, hearty broth. Must dip bread in said broth. The marsala was coated in a delicious, creamy sauce, flavored perfectly. I love the concept of setting up business in a repurposed home - there's so much character in a space. The inside was dimly lit with lights and small candles on the table. Server was swift and attentive. They have a variety of French inspired small dishes and chicken/pasta/ pot roast on the menu. We ordered a bit of everything - the terrine and escargot were quite good. Escargot needs a bit of salt - which is the trend for their dishes. Pot roast and Bolognese are tasty, albeit needing salt. I'm not a salty eater but that extra salt is needed to achieve the umami that they are missing. They have an all natural wine menu, cocktail and beer. Ambiance was chill and romantic, we all got a bit tipsy afterwards. Overall nice spot! read more

I had an excellent time coming to Little Blue Bistro. It is a small, intimate restaurant in the Bishop Arts area. The ambiance inside was very warm and perfect for date night. Our waitress was quite kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We started off with the whitefish dip and caponata on toast which both were great options. For our entrees, we got the blue prawns and mailale marsala. The prawns were cooked excellent and I loved the tomatoes and sauce it came with. The marsala dish was also great with some nice different textural elements incorporated with the breadcrumbs. The standout from the night was the cheesecake. I don't normally enjoy cheesecake but this is one of the better desserts I have had in Dallas. The portion size was enormous and I would go back just to have it. Overall, everything we ate had a great depth of flavor and was enjoyed in a wonderful ambiance. I would certainly come back here. read more

Very small, quaint restaurant in an old house with dark ambiance and good wine deals. My number one favorite cheesecake I've had in dallas is right here! Some of the dishes aren't as expected and the menu changes frequently but the pasta is a go to and the pot roast is a must if you do need recommendations! I'd vote the stracc, pot roast and bolognese as my favorite dishes on the menu when I was there. Didn't love the terrine; it's more of a meat/cheese board app with cold rabbit topping. The salad was small and didn't rock my word either. I did like the stew a lot! Get a reservation here or come early and sit at the bar for some tasty wine and cheesecake! read more

The thing that delivered for me was the ambiance- this is a cute date night spot or girls wine night. The patio in the backyard was super cute and the inside was cute. The food/portion sizes were not worth the price and the service considerably slow. This is the only natural wine bar in Bishop, offering a thoughtfully curated selection of wines that are either certified organic, organically produced without certification, or made without the use of pesticides. Having visited twice, I'm really enjoying the atmosphere. While I haven't tried the food yet, the menu leans towards snacks and occasional specials. For example, today's special was a hearty dish of roast and mashed potatoes made with beef cheeks. The only thing I found off putting is the pours are smaller in comparison to other shops in Bishop Arts. Outside of that I recommend them at 4 stars. Walked past this place one night and it looked so cute, booked a reservation the next week!!! Did not disappoint! The patio was so perfect, giving suchhhh good vibes. Wine and service were lovely. Moving on to food.... every dish hit. The Caesar salad was very authentic and light, homemade croutons on top. The Bolognese was wonderful, the sauce was super flavorful. The pot roast was savory, but still light enough to eat in the summer, highly recommend. Had a very okay Friday night date with my husband here. When we got here we noticed immediately how cute the place was. I booked us a patio table and was pleased to see the building/house had a open concept with all of the doors leading to the patio held open, so we did not feel sectioned off from the main space. If you go I would highly recommend the back patio seating. As for the wine, we love natural reds and were super excited to try several things. We first opted for a French red bottle but they were out of several of them and tried to push us for one of the most expensive ones (red flag). I was looking up each one we were interested in and surprised to find that many of their red options were light opposed to a more bold wine, as we prefer. We settled on ordering glasses, which the menu only offers 3 reds and all from rather niche places. Again, 1 out of the 3 options was out. My pick was flat out gross and I declined after my Taste pour. We both got the house Malbec, which was pretty acidic and very flat. Might be a cocktail place for us. For food we got the sourdough, Caesar, Marsala, and pot roast. Sourdough was good but obviously not life changing. Caesar was amazing. Marsala was pretty basic. Pot roast was very solid and super tinder. Would hype of the pot roast to anyone. As for the bill, 3 glasses of wine, sourdough, Caesar, Marsala, and pot roast for 125 pre tip. Price was probably the most redeeming factor of the night. I think I was just most upset about the wine, since I was looking forward to it. Aside from that not bad/not my favorite. Might come back if a friend wanted to try it but wouldn't offer it up as a suggestion. read more

Food was fine. The red headed server was extremely rude and treated my wife like an out of control child when she accidentally spilled a small vase on the table because the tables were uneven. The server rudely took the vase out of her hands and reprimanded her like a child saying "no no no". Everyone at the table was shocked. She then cut off my wife (who had had 1.5 glasses of white wine with a full meal). She wasn't drunk. She wasn't even clumsy or loud. She spilled because the table was uneven. I'm not sure if this server was having a bad night or what her deal was, but she CERTAINLY took it out on us and was EXTREMELY condescending when we attempted to apologize and explain what had happened. My husband planned a date night for us, and I was really looking forward to trying this place-especially since we live an hour away and date nights do take effort with our schedules! The ambiance is nice...if you don't get the TEENY TINY table that's literally three steps away from everyone who walks into, around, and out of the restaurant, smack dab in the middle. I honestly wish I had snapped a picture-it was ALMOST comical, except it was honestly very annoying-the back of my chair was knocked several times through the night and it honestly felt like we were on display. The bartender was kind enough to make me a mocktail, which was good, but the server could not tell me what was in it, nor did she make the effort to ask. As for the food...the oysters we had for an app were pretty good, but I was most excited to try the caesar salad. So disappointed. The crushed croutons actually seemed to dry it out, and there was a very bitter taste, and no crunch to the lettuce. My husband had the Wagyu pot roast with mashed potatoes-he enjoyed it, but added he wished there were at least carrots or something-it was literally the meat and potatoes. We tried the cheesecake, which was decent, but the crust was brick hard. I thought someone else was being dramatic in their review when they said it was so loud they couldn't hear another person talk....my apologies because we found that to be the case as well. If you decide to try this place for dinner, make a reservation, and be SURE to request a booth-style table. read more

This cozy bistro recently opened, and the food is exquisite. They vary the menu every day, creatively. True of a bistro, the offerings are straightforward and prepared well. Olivia, the chef owner has a long, skillful background in food preparation. I had pot roast with mashed potatoes, and my wife had a pasta dish with cheese. We had escargot and the best bread I've ever tasted. My wife had a superb red wine and I had an IPA. Both were delicious. Presentation and service are superb and pricing is very reasonable.
