Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. We really enjoyed this place! It was about a 20 min wait to be seated but well worth the wait! The restaurant is very well decorated with a fun floral vibe. We felt like there was a lot to explore visually well waiting for our drinks and food. Service was great and felt that the staff was very attentive! We decided to try an appetizer, main dish and a couple cocktails. The Brie appetizer was a great portion and very delicious! I tried the spicy chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint! We've been in here at least five times, and I had my worst dinner the other night. I had the chicken pasta. Chicken was good but pasta was very dry. I asked for parmesan, and they give you the shaved type which doesn't melt in the pasta. My wife had the Shepherd Pie and absolutely loved it. Friends had the Pork Schnitzel and liked it. We had such an amazing experience at Lozas in Modesto for brunch! Our party of 9 was seated almost immediately. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a fun and inviting vibe, great music, and clean restrooms. Our waitress, Josie, was the absolute best! so sweet, accommodating, and attentive throughout the meal. She made sure we had everything we needed and truly elevated our experience. The food was fantastic! I ordered the fried panko chicken with garlic mash and broccolini. It was cooked perfectly. Crispy, flavorful, and comforting. My one tiny suggestion would be to add a bit more seasoning to the broccolini, but otherwise, everything was spot on. We also enjoyed several carafes and a mimosa flight, and every single drink was delicious. Lozas nailed the balance of great food, drinks, and ambiance. However, some liquid started leaking through from bar area to my friend's feet which was odd. I thought I was seeing things because there was a lot of liquid and could've slipped. We've eaten here a few times, we've eaten at the Turlock location often. I'm torn. The food has been amazing both times (Ceres location), the staff is very friendly, but the service is very slow. We went on a Wednesday around 1:00. A total of 4 tables inside had diners, and 1 table outside. The 4 inside all had two diners, the one outside table had 6. My wife ordered pancakes, I ordered French toast. Again, the food was amazing, but we were there for an hour and a half. The food itself took over 40 minutes (after we ordered) to get to the table. If you have the time, go, relax, eat good and enjoy. If you're looking to leave before an hour or so, I don't recommend. read more

I was able to visit Loza for the first time and just in time for breakfast. On my visit we ordered several items: the avocado toast with egg, beca sandwhich, side ceasar salad, nutella crépe and (2) guava mocktails. The avocado toast was surprisingly great, love that they have the option for wheat toast. The beca sandwhich was good-- great that it came with a Caesar salad. We also ordered some guava mocktails which was sweet and fruity-- very delicious. The only let down was the crepe, it was chewy, seemed as if it was made from days ago. If that's not the case, then the mix was old. 4/5. The young lady that helped us out was hostess and server. She was polite and was willing to help. 5/5. We also ordered the exotic flight of mimosas. Wasn't anything special. Would I spend $28 on it again? Probably not. Ordered another drink. I don't recall the name but it's like a margarita with prickly pear. That was way better than the mimosa. A bit pricey spent about $55 a person and there were 6 of us. Came here for lunch, and the first thing I noticed was the decorations. I loved the vibe, great opportunities for pictures. Lots of greenery for a tranquil feel. Once I got inside, it did take a while for anyone to acknowledge me. One lady saw me but didn't say anything, she just continued towards the kitchen. When I was finally greeted, the staff member was friendly. There were only two other parties there. Ordered drinks, an appetizer, and entree. The food was really good! I would say that some items were a bit pricey, but my guess is because you're partially paying for the ambiance and not just the food quality. They had clean bathrooms, which is always a plus. The server kept checking on us so that made up for the lack of acknowledgment by the other staff when we first got there. Overall, I may come back for a special occasion. But due to prices, it probably wouldn't be a regular place I'd go to. read more

Walked in with my wife and signed in at the front counter. No hostess present to greet us. The bartender and a couple of servers couldn't even make eye contact or give us a "hello", "we'll be right with you" or a smile. Felt very awkward. We left after being ignored for 10 minutes. Fantastic food and beverages! I had the chicken and avocado crepe plus the lavender Lamarca cocktail. The crepe comes with a blue cheese sauce which sounds odd paired with chicken and avocado but I can promise that together it all works somehow, if you like blue cheese already. I came here with a group of ladies for a bridal proposal, and we made quite a racket in this fine dining establishment. It's a quieter eatery, in my opinion. The food! I got the bri with cranberry-bacon dip, which came with sliced white bread. It was tasty, but I'd prefer it with a baguette style bread. I wanted something easy for my entree, so I ordered panko chicken with Alfredo pesto linguine, which was delicious. It was flavorful and the meat was perfectly cooked. I tasted from everyone's plate, and the lamb chop was delicious, the chimichurri steak was good, and the mashed potatoes was smooth. I'm obsessed with Japanese crepes, so I couldn't wait to sample theirs! I requested the strawberry and crème crepe. But they're too dense for crepes. It was more like a cream cheese pancake. It's not terrible. Because of the thickness, I wouldn't term it a crepe. In general. The energy was there. The drinks were delicious. And the customer service was good. First time at this location and my experience wasn't horrible, just not good enough to come back. We went on a Sunday morning for brunch at 10:30am and we beat the crowd. It started getting busy around 11:30am. We decided to try to exotic mimosas and honestly.. not worth it. The flavors were not good. I only liked the mango one so I wished I would've just got regular flavors. I think the flight was $28. I got a pesto crepe and it was good, just needed a bit more flavor. The cinnamon French toast was amazing. Overall food was great, but oddly enough they bring out one plate and a time instead of all together which I though was strange. The only reason I wouldn't come back is because service takes forever. This could be the lack of staff - I'm not sure- but it takes forever to get things you asked for whether I'd be water or an extra set of utensils. We got wind of this place while we were visiting up north from LA and stepped in for dinner mid-week. This spot is located at the end of a small quaint shopping area which appears to going through a nice little upgrade as well. The Loza Kitchen and Bar definitely contribute to the areas modernization and renovation. It adds a lively vibe. Reminds me of some the popular spots in the LA area. We had a few beverages which included their Smoked Old Fashions. Our bartender brought our drinks to our tables and the smoky presentation was pleasant with each round. We then moved on to our appetizer... Crab Cakes and Organic Homestyle Fig Jam Brie. Two great starters with a nice variety of flavors which are very enjoyable. Then on to our dinner entrees... Loza Pork Schnitzel Lobster Crepe Enchiladas Shrimp Saltinboca Pasta Chimichurri Seared Rib Eye Steak We couldn't decide on which was most delicious. Everything was so good! I think if I had to choose I would say is was a tie between the Loza Pork Schnitzel and the Lobster Crepe Enchiladas, but you'll have to try them for yourself and decide. The service was wonderful. I preferred the spicy chicken one. We got there around 0115pm Monday and there were people but wasn't busy. Ambiance is good. I prefer this over the one in Turkock. We arrived at 12:25 for our 12:30 (unrecognized) reservation and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. Since we had been looking forward to trying this spot, we decided to wait and had a seat at the bar. 3 of us ordered a round of drinks ($43). The Bloody Mary was tasty and the bartender engaging and nice. We were seated about 25 minutes later. We ordered from the brunch menu. We had 1) Breakfast Sandwich 2) French Toast 3) Mango Peach Crepe The sandwich was almost inedible as the "over easy egg" was so raw and runny, it turned the toast into complete mush. My dining companion managed only 2-3 bites. The crepe was completely mediocre and was stuffed with far too much crème cheese for my taste. Plain cream cheese. I was expecting perhaps a cream cheese whipped with powdered sugar or something light and sweet instead of a thick cream cheese smear that you would expect on a bagel. The presentation was not worthy of a pic... honestly, I think iHop does crepes better. The French toast was fine - but, again nothing special or out of the ordinary. Im quite sad to be leaving a subpar review as I was SUPER excited to see a new spot in Ceres with a pretty atmosphere and diverse menu. Came here with the wife and kids on Juneteenth for a little brunch. This place is very nice with nice decor and ambiance both inside and outside. They had plenty of umbrellas outside so the sun wouldn't be an issue. I was very surprised the place wasn't busy. The waitress was very nice and attentive, she always stopped by the table to make sure we were doing good. The food actually came out pretty quick and everything looked and tasted great!
