You'll find a fair amount of seating inside and outside. We chose to sit inside, but the downside of that was the flies swarming around us. My husband and I ordered the Apple and Cheese crepe, California crepe, and the star of the show: strawberry chocolate muffin. The crepes were good, but nothing to write home about. They were thicker than your typical crepe. The Apple and Cheese or Apple crepe would be a good dessert crepe option if you don't want something too sweet. This place has been open in Davis for quite a few years, and is one of the more successful places in town. For me it was, well.... Ok. We went on a Wednesday morning at 8:30. There can be problems with finding a seat sometimes, as I often see a line out the door. Fortunately, there was a lot of seating at that time, and it was comfortable. You order at the counter. Staff was very helpful in allowing us to choose what we wanted. We had a South of the border scramble and a California crêpe. Once you order food is brought to the table. They will also refill your coffee if they see your cup is empty. That's the extent of the service, but that's the model and it works. The food was mediocre. The scramble was crazy soft. I don't know how else to describe it. Just kind of mushy all overall. I was brought toast instead of the English muffin I ordered. They made the switch for me. The English muffin, however, was not great. The crêpe was fine, though it had a bit more pesto than I had anticipated.. Many years ago, I stopped here in the evening for a dessert crêpe. That was quite good. I'm wondering if maybe this is just not the best place to go for breakfast. Davis is very much in need of a fantastic, breakfast/lunch place downtown. I will keep searching. I really like that concept since I always down my water faster than when our server checks on our table. We decided to get different crepes to try them out. Each crepe comes with a side of salad or potatoes. I got the Savory Crepe, which had sautéed veggies and shrimp, topped with a lemony pesto cheese sauce. It was great, lacked a little bit of flavor since I was expecting a stronger kick. The sauce was delicious and I wish they served more of it -- or at least had a thicker consistency. My side of potatoes were a lot! I'm guessing they gave me the extras that they had since it wasn't busy and there probably wasn't anyone else who ordered a crepe, so I'm not complaining! I came after going to the Farmer's Market since it's right across the street. There was a line out the door, but it went by relatively fast. Of course Crepeville won me over because of the 900+ reviews and high star rating. Thanks Yelp! Crepeville has many options, not just crepes. They offer salads, soups, sandwiches and pasta dishes. Such a great spot in Davis! I came in on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. We ordered at the counter first and then easily found a table for 5 inside. Food and drinks came out very promptly. Portions here were enormous! Potato sides were huge. I tried the French benedict, basically eggs benedict but served on top of a crepe with a spicy hollandaise sauce and bacon. The orange juice was also freshly squeezed and really refreshing. I love how extensive their menu is and that there are also so many lunch options. My favorite brunch place in davis! They have a wide variety of options. The star of my meal was the breakfast potatoes. They actually SEASON them! They're crispy and delicious. We ordered at the counter and found a table, where they have seating both indoors and outdoors. For brunch I had the Athens scramble. I opted for the side salad instead of potatoes, an English muffin, and no feta cheese. The scramble was a huge portion and extremely filling. As a business owner myself the situation below can make or break your business. We asked our waitress for extra napkins and then an extra fork when we got our sweet crepe. Of course sharing a fork is not a problem but the point is I asked for something twice and was ignored. She proceeded to say that I didn't need to talk to her that way and that they were busy??? Firstly, I don't understand her attitude because a customer has now asked you three times. Second of all, her response was we are busy!?!? That is not an excuse to forget a customer. The waiter behind her then inquired what was going on. He apologized but also stated that they were busy. I am flabbergasted at my experience. Yes, you are busy, because people are coming to your establishment to eat and give you business. That is not an excuse to forget your customer who has a plate of food in front of them. Just a heads up that the service is slow and the waiters have the audacity to speak to patrons this way without thinking twice. The Davis location is our fave go to spot for savory crepes. There's a closer spot where we live that serves crepes, but it doesn't compare to this place. As you enter, the menu is written on a blackboard above the wall. They serve crepes, scrambles, sandwiches, breakfast entrees. Prices are reasonable. You stand in line, order at the cashier, they give you a table number you place at the table, and staff brings out your order to you. With current Covid times, there's no indoor seating. They have outdoor seating covered by a tent with a few tables uncovered. We often get the savory crepes with meat. My favorite is the chicken pesto. It comes with country style potatoes. You can request a side salad instead of or with the potatoes for an extra fee. We've been to this location and the one in Rockridge/East Bay many times. We've loved every visit. The staff is very welcoming, ambiance is so chill, great locations. Staff cleans tables promptly and have observed they have great teamwork. The restroom is only one stall and locked when in use. If it's busy, you have to wait in the hall until it's available. Restroom needs to be cleaned more regularly though. Street parking. No meter, but parking sign states limited to 90 minutes the closer you are parked to downtown Davis. read more
