I am giving one star because I have to to post a review. First I am going to say I was foolish to take a car that had to be jumped to get it off the lot. Ryan Walton at Progressive said the same. My car was hit in August by a progressive driver. It took 2 weeks for a decision to be made as to coverage. I was told the car was likely totaled and it was taken to a junk yard. It took another week for a Progressive estimator to decide it could be Fixed. It took another 6 weeks and many phone calls to get the car fixed. when I went to pick it up they had to jump it. "It was on the lot a long time" per the CRG person. i was told to drive it awhile. I got home, the car started after I turned it off and the next morning it had no power whatsoever. I called CRG, they told me to put in a new battery. I had the battery charged from 19% to 100% with a neighbor's charger. Nothing. I called CRG they again said to go buy a new battery. It is a bad battery and "we had to jump it like 4 times" "That is on progressive because they let it sit in the lot so long" Progressive repeated what they were told by CRG. I just bought the battery it was over $200.00. I am disgusted. I will update if the new battery works or I have fight more to get a car that runs. read more

First, thank you to the first five Yelpers for reviewing CRG. If not for their 5-star reviews, I probably would not have trusted my auto body repairs with them. But I am sure glad I did. For less than half the price of two other estimates I received, the car was as good as new within 72 hours. As the photos I will post indicate, we had damage to the driver's side rear door and driver's side rear bumper on our silver Lexus ES350. After getting other estimates from a Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis preferred auto body shop, a USAA Insurance authorized auto body shop, and an attempt to get an estimate from Hanagan's Auto Body in Silver Spring (they never replied to my request), I immediately went with CRG. Not only were they dramatically less expensive, they were also very responsive to my inquiry and flexible in helping me get the repairs completed within my tight timelines. In short, I highly recommend CRG, at least for exterior cosmetic repairs. I cannot speak to their work on more substantial damage (e.g., to the engine, interior, etc.), but there is no question they are the way to go for exterior body damage. And, FWIW, it is my experience (for both this repair and repairs in times past) that highly rated auto body shops that get a lot of insurance-referred work don't have the time or desire to deal with relatively minor work like that on my car. It is surely in your best interest to seek out local smaller shops like CRG, particularly if you are paying out of pocket, because as illustrated they tend to be dramatically less expensive and do at least as good if not better work. Best repair and service my vehicle and I have experienced. As Irish luck would have it, an 18 wheeler side-swiped my car while attempting to make a turn. Luckily I wasn't in it! The truck driver left a note which made the incident a bit easier to swallow, but I was headed out of town with a fully packed car since it was Christmas. CRG couldn't have been nicer! They made sure while I was away to let me know what was happening with my car repair. When I returned, my car was repaired PERFECTLY and in spit polish shine condition. Of particular importance is that I noticed a blinking light on my dash after I picked up my car; after I reported it, a new part to fix it was ordered. I found a half hour to sit in their waiting area while it was repaired and I couldn't be happier. David coordinated my car repair and he's great, but everyone is at CRG. I had a truly positive experience with CRG, especially as a woman with little experience with cars. I received a more than fair estimate for the damage on my front bumper, and they stayed true to the first estimate even when I dropped the car off and we noticed a bit more damage than shown in my original picture for the estimate. They also were able to take my car immediately, and finished the work very quickly. When I came back for my car, I was so impressed. I would have never imaged my car could look brand new for the cost I paid. Very great service. Very easy process. My RS4 had some...well lets say some body issues. After a less-than-smooth landing in the DC area from a hack auto transport company (see previous yelp's) that took a bumper off and some other damage...and someone in VA bumped into my door, It was time to take care of my beloved RS4 and CRG took care of business. Tony and Carlos reassured me that it would be no problem and was it! I had a bunch of high-maintenance items on the wish list from after-market add-on's, to misc parts bought from ebay, to "uh not sure where to get that or if it'll fit" I came to CRG Autobody with it all. Dispite some challenges from the a fore mentioned parts, CRG came in on-time and in budget with great communication along the way. They hammered out the job and had me rolling right before the memorial day weekend in style. They took a look at it and gave me a realistic quote that they stuck to. There were no "uhm yea this is Joe from Maco and we did not see this during the estimate and its gonna cost ya $ and we need it for another week". Love this place. Had my front bumper repaired here and they did an excellent job. I have an Acura RDX. Window was broken out and they fixed it same day. Car looks perfect. Pricing is great and the guys do a great job. I also love that I got my car back with no dings or dents (never know at a body garage). The shop has great customer service, people are very friendly and welcoming with a laid back feel. I knew to come to them with my window replacement. I trusted the work would be nice. I first went to In & Out Auto Body. When they asked if I was getting estimates, I said yes and their demeanor changed. They then told me it would cost $1,500 - $2,000 and take two weeks. I drove over the CRG and they were happy to have me come in. I got a quote for $975 and was told it would take a week. One week later, the actual cost was $940 and the car looks great. I am sooooo glad I found this place! Heaven sent! Where do I start? My first experience: I was rear ended, found this place on yelp - the Silver Spring location got great reviews and I really appreciated that it was a family business. I dropped my car off and got it back within the estimated time, cleaned and was provided a full download on the damages, parts used, and labor. Carlos and his son provided exceptional customer service. The insurance company (of the person who hit me) asked them to use used parts after I explicitly said I wanted new parts - I was notified by CRG before any work started and CRG then went the extra mile to make sure to work with the insurance company to order the new parts. I mean - they took care of my car like it was my own and I just could not ask for more! Second experience: A few months before I was rear ended, I was involved in a hit and run :-/ (rude!) I had taken my car to a Geico approved autobody shop because my repairs were lifetime guaranteed, it was convenient and honestly I didn't spend as much energy looking into a great autobody shop like I should have. Welp, lesson learned because although the damages were fixed by the Geico authorized shop I noticed that I was hearing the road and a funny whistling out of the driver's side of the car like something wasn't sealed properly. I took it back to this shop because obviously my repairs were lifetime guaranteed and they simply just lifted my window up as opposed to actually investigating what the real cause of the issue was. Now, I'm no mechanic but I know that wasn't the issue. Of course, lifting a glass window that didn't actually need to be lifted caused other problems. I went to CRG for a second opinion on the issue. After their investigation, it was found that my wood panel was broken and two other parts within the door frame itself. Well, it was clear that the door was not properly put back together and rather parts were broken either by the autobody or the initial hit and run that was not properly fixed. I fought with Geico to ensure that CRG could perform the repairs either paid by Geico for their shotty authorized dealer or the authorized dealer themselves. I really didn't care who paid for it but it wasn't going to be me or CRG. Carlos and his son were so patient waiting for approval from Geico, hanging on to my car until everything was cleared. Again, got the car back in perfect condition! Whistling sound is gone now! Short story...I'm just so thankful! Car repairs are so stressful and feeling like you have an autobody that is in your corner and not with insurance companies is rare to find! I cannot appreciate you - Carlos or your son more, thank you, thank you, thank you! I would recommend CRG either Rockville or Silver Spring locations to anyone! read more

I have progressive insurance and a DC resident.  Progressive gave me three options in DC and they had 2 stars.  I went back to Progressive and asked for more choices and they recommended CRG.  Looking online...5 stars!  I was sold.  I asked progressive for CRG and they authorized the repair.  We had a person back into our parked driver side door of our brand new VW Golf.  We dropped it off.  The office was clean, the staff was very professional and knowledgable.  I did notice a very clean shop and a huge paint booth.  They submitted the estimate to Progressive in about 18 hours...that's pretty amazing.  They were meticulous.  Even though it was the front quarter panel and the driver door, they checked the mirror, the window, turn signals, tires and rims, they really made sure there was not more extensive damage to the naked eye.  They kept us in constant communication.  They fixed the dents, and then....the paint match and buffing....I can usually find the problem area....you could not tell.  They did a fantastic job.  Everything was matched like I drove it off the dealership lot.  We also had a problem with the "fault party"  They handled them like a pro.  I hope I never have a need for autobody, but if I do, i'm going back to CRG.  I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking a repair.  PS: Ask for Sophia, she was amazing. I can't say enough nice things about CRG. I recently scraped the side of my car against a wall in my parking garage. I decided to not go through insurance to fix it. I first went to Hanagan's and they quoted me at $1,200 to fix it! They hardly looked at it and then on the estimate they put the most ridiculous things - they put labor hours on fixing part of the car that weren't even near the scratch! CRG was my next stop. Carlos actually took time to look at the damage at my car and quoted me at $460! A whole third LESS than Hanagans. Not only was it cheaper, but they completed the work on time and within the quote. CRG might not be a lot to look at on the outside, but their customer service and quality work have made them my go-to auto body for the future. read more

This place goes above and beyond my expectations. I brought my car to the Taft location not the sligo location. I spoke to Carlos who happens to be the owner there also. He quote my a great price to work on my bumper, grill, fenders and also my interior. When i pick up its is so shiny and clean, it is incredible.
