This is the ONLY PLACE I am EVER willing to take my car repaired for ANY types of body work. I have had several body shop work completed here in the past decade or so and never got a shoddy job done. The owner, Avak is a very helpful and honest person. He helps make the otherwise frustrating experience of going through the auto insurance to get car repaired smoothly. Although it is not his job to do so but he has often taken up the role of being an excellent liaison between the insurance company, and the rental car companies. Most recently, I've dealt with someone hitting my car and running away without leaving any insurance information for the damage. I've had a seamless experience getting my car repaired beautifully without any problems. It was completed within less than 5 business days as is always the case with getting anything repaired at D&D Auto. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, Avak also helped me recover $250 for my otherwise $500 deductible. This was an important step because it helps to prevent my premium from rising next quarter. My insurance company did not tell me that I'm not liable to pay $500 for an accident that wasn't my fault or the other person running away. The sucker I am didn't even know that I can call my insurance company and request I pay half for the otherwise $500 deductible. Another perks of getting the car repaired here is that they have a good working relationship with Enterprise Rental Car that's hop scotch away from D&D. It makes it really easy to pick up and drop off the rental there and I like how they can count on Avak without communication or logistical issues from arising. Lastly, you don't need an appointment to get your car estimate which is great. Many other shops requires appointments but not at D&D. Avak also will print out and/or email you an estimate on the spot. To reiterate, I wouldn't feel hesitant at all to bring my car here or recommend it to anybody. I recommend anyone who sees this to go read the "non-recommended" reviews that seem to be disputed. Basically most of what people are complaining about there are accurate and similar to my experience. I came in for a job, and gave explicit instructions on the damage to fix. They took the insurance money and fixed what I instructed (at poor quality and not properly done), and also fixed the dents in my car which I EXPLICITLY told them NOT to fix, and charged me anyway. I shouldn't have paid the extra cash. But I did because I was so upset I just wanted to leave. For the repairs I told him not to make, he said he will only take cash and will not give me a receipt. As for as the quality of the work, some hard composite or glue like substance permanently dried to make it look like that part of my car is about to drip water or liquid but it was permanently dried in that state. Also the paint was clearly not matched. I wont be coming here again and I also recommend anyone who is considering this to chose a different shop. Hard to find (behind small strip center just before Exxon at Frederick Rd and Gude Drive), but worth the search. My Explorer was rear-ended while it was parked (no one in it). There was some frame damage and some hidden damage that they didn't find until they started to pull it apart. They dealt directly with State Farm (D&D is a preferred repair shop) to change the estimate. It was done in the timeframe promised (actually a couple days earlier). Fit, finish, panel gaps were like the accident never happened. I am very happy with the work and attention to detail. When I went to pick it up the owner said that if the perpetrator was insured ( he was, according to the police report), I should pursue remuneration for value lost since the repair would be reported to Carfax and would significantly reduce its value at trade-in. I came to this shop through admittedly odd circumstances. A girl rear-ended my car while driving her parents' car, I failed to get her insurance info, and was left trying to bargain with her dad on where to go to get my bumper replaced. He pointed me to D & D and said that he would pay. To make a long story short, Avak put up with all the back and forth between calls from both me and the dad, accepted and delivered on my request to get the bumper done within the same day, did a beautiful job, and let me pick up the car without even leaving a credit card number as security, saying that he trusted the dad (who actually went to the shop in person before I did) would pay. I won't argue with the reviewer who took issue with Avak's casual manner, but to me, it's a body shop, not a four star restaurant. Plus they offered me coffee and fresh coffee cake while I waited, and asked if I needed a ride from the shop while the car was being fixed. Just called in after hearing the great review and was turned off by their lack of professionalism over the phone. Called for a general, ballpark figure on a standard door ding repair and he goes "what? We don't do estimates over the phone". This is understandable but I described to him the size of the small dent and mentioned it was a standard door ding about 2" in length and he didn't want to help. Seemed disinterested in my business. Why would I bring my $95,000 vehicle to a person who talks to me over the phone like that? No respect, no customer service, if he treats a person like that, how would be treat your car? This is the best auto body shop around! In January my 2012 Mazda3 was hit on the front right side. My front panel was dented, my washer fluid tank was busted and my headlight was cracked on the side. A few months later my car was hit in a parking lot on the back right side and dented the back panel. Since the guy who hit me the first time lied about the accident, his insurance wasn't going to cover it and no one left a note regarding the second incident so I was left paying for both out of pocket (I have a high deductible). After the second incident, I decided it was time to get it fixed and in August I began my search for auto body shops. After searching on Yelp (the only site I go to for reviews), I went to two shops well rated shops for an estimate and I went to my dealer. All the quotes were ruffly the same, only about $100 off from each other. I knew the price was going to be high because of the damage and the fact that they were going to have to have to repaint the whole right side to make sure it all matched. After getting those estimates my coworker told me about D&D. She had been there before and had a good experience. So I went. I arrived at D&D and asked Avak for an estimate. He went out to see the damage to my car and asked if insurance was paying. I told him the story and said I was paying out of pocket. He quoted me over $700 less than everywhere else I had been. I couldn't believe it! I asked him when I could drop it off, and he said Monday and it will be ready by Friday. Other places told me it was going to be over a week. On Monday I dropped my car off and on Friday afternoon Avak called me and said my car was ready. I was a little nervous that my paint wouldn't match because my car color is kind of an unusual color (a mix between blue, green, and gray). My car came out looking brand new! You could never tell it had been hit twice! The paint matched perfectly and they even washed and swept out my car. It did cost a little more than he originally quoted because once they took the side off they found some additional damage but it was still way less than any other place!! I am so happy that I went to D&D and would recommend it to anyone!! It was a GREAT experience and I will definitely go back should I need anymore repairs. read more
