Martin the owner is hilarious and very friendly -- we both loved the story of the winery!

We came for pizza Saturdays and fell in love with it all. We loved the majority of the wines and walked away as members. The owner, Martin, chatted with us a bit and was very hospitable and funny. The pizza was delicious. The views were fabulous. A nature trail wraps around the property. There's an inn and other rental homes on the property - we met a couple as we were wine tasting that told us the breakfast at the Inn was AMAZING so it seems like we will have to be back to stay!

MUST STOP HERE!! This place is 10/10. We had the opportunity to stay at the inn for two nights and were already planning our return. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The wine at this boutique vineyard is delicious, bought some to take home. Last but not least we can't say enough about how friendly Martin (owner) and Julia (tasting room manager) were. Don't miss out, check this out.

This place was great! We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed our experience. We were able to drive just 30 minutes to the coast through the rolling hills. Our hosts were very kind, and the room was charming. We even had glasses of wine waiting for us upon arrival. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!

Prior to my wife booking our stay at Croad, I had never heard of it. You won't find their wines at any grocery store or wine store because they are a small boutique winery. Their grapes are dry-farmed (only subsisting on natural rainwater and ground water the vines can extract from their long roots). The result is a "stressed," smaller, grape that concentrates the juice which translates into a more flavor intense wine. Well it shows in their products. I have always loved a red blends and fuller wines and Croad is our first membership. They have a super cozy inn with 4 bedrooms near the tasting room (key location) and another ranch house at the entrance to the property that you can rent out for larger groups. Martin and Patty are welcoming hosts who make some pretty darn good wine. Check it out!

Ohhhh I love the wine here! So delicious and rich! What a treat to have this wine! The wine was so good that my friend signed up for the wine membership club. The view of this place is spectacular. You can sit indoors or out on the patio. One our 2nd visit, we ordered a bottle and sat on their outdoor patio. If you haven't tried Croad wine, it's worth a stop!

We stopped by during our day of wine tasting and this was our first stop. Everything was wonderful! We left with a couple bottles of vino. We will definitely be back when we visit Paso Robles again.

If I could pick my favorite wine and vineyard in Paso Robles it would have to be Croad Winery. The owner is a Kiwi from New Zealand and he does dry farming. The result is a very bold rich tasting wine unlike the others we have tried. You can make a reservation for a tasting and then get a cheese plate and enjoy the beautiful view. Martin and Patty have built beautiful grounds in the vineyard where you can sit and relax with a view of the vineyard and enjoy a tasty pizza for lunch which is made in an outdoor pizza oven. There are nature trails through the property that are nicely shaded. You can also play corn hole or bocce ball. We stayed over night in their bed and breakfast inn and had the best sleep ever in their comfy beds. Rosy took good care of us making sure we had fresh fruit and freshly brewed coffee. We joined their wine club so we will be back a lot. Thanks Martin, Patty, and Rosy for taking such good care of us on our vacation. This will be our home a way from home for many years to come. Happy Yelping!

Loved it! Plenty of seating, but still an intimate spot to have a sip and conversation. We were greeted when we came in, and she took us to a neat area in the back where they host weddings. Beautiful views, well maintained landscaping, tables and chairs were comfortable and clean, and she was super knowledgeable. We didn't try the cheese plate, but we brought our own food. Super cute small business-vibe with some rad wines! Will be coming back!

What a great place!! First off the wine tasting is complimentary if you stay in one of their rooms!! The place is very clean and the owner Martin and his staff are amazing. Great relaxing place to stay!! Will be back down!! They have a ton of seating around the property it is great!!

    Beautiful views!

Accidentally found this winery while in Paso and really loved it. It's a bit of a drive to get to but the grounds are super cute and the views are spectacular. We enjoyed the wine as well. The hostess was welcoming and we just did a glass instead of a full tasting. Parking is free and easy. They also have a hotel attached in case you want to stay and relax here. Lovely spot in Paso!

We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.

The place is very busy. We opted for a wine tasting with lunch. They offered 5 wines and proper tasting pours. When we were seated, water was quickly served and we ordered their House-made Sourdough Focaccia which was served with lavender butter and lavender salt. That was very tasty - the lavender butter and salt worked well with the bread. My wife ordered the Duck Confit and I ordered the Bucatini Pasta which featured Mighty Cap Mushrooms. The sauce was very rich and flavorful. The pasta was cooked properly, and the mushrooms were just so good. The Duck Confit was similar - the duck leg was cooked properly, and worked great with the Heirloom tomatos and plum, all of which sat on a wild rice salad. Roasted Chicken was tender with a light sauce. Pasta with mushroom sounds simple but it was yummy and perfect. For wine tasting, they offered a complimentary welcome taste of Pino Rose, light and refreshing. The tasting had 4 wines, my favorite was the 2022 Reserve Chardonnay. It was buttery and smooth. I had the opportunity to stay at the Summerwood Inn in Paso Robles, CA and fell in love with it. It has to be one of my favorite places to stay. The Inn itself and my room were so inviting and relaxing. The bed and comforter were very comfortable. There's nothing worse than a bad sleep on a vacation and wanting to go home to your own bed. I didn't want to leave this one. They did have a wifi and a desk so that I could check my email, but I was barely on the computer because there was too much to enjoy. My room overlooked this courtyard which was even more beautiful at night. Behind the Inn was the winery. It was so peaceful. Chef Kelly Wangard is responsible for the decorating and the amazing cuisine. She also won Cut Throat Kitchen. We were watching the Food Network and the repeat came on. I got this great pic of Kelly watching herself. There is a reason Kelly won. Her food is so delicious. You could order breakfast the night before and it was prepared for you in the morning. The Eggs Benedict just melted in your mouth and it was served with a side of greens and potatoes. In the evening Kelly had wine and h'ordeuvres for us and dessert, coffee, and tea in the evening. Then you could unwind with a hot bath and their exclusive bath soaps and lotions - they smell amazing! You could curl up and read a book or check out the surrounding area. I highly recommend doing both. No matter what your reason is for taking a vacation Summerwood Inn is the perfect place to stay while you're in wine country.

I believe sometimes companies have off days, and employees may have a bad day, which can affect one's experience, thus I dont let one bad experience ruin a company's review. But when it comes to my CHILD, you best believe i will never forgive and forget or let our experience be forgotten. We visited this winery expecting a relaxing, family-friendly experience and instead left with our daughter crying after being scratched in the face near her eye by the owner's off-leash dog. What makes this especially frustrating is that the winery's own rules state dogs must be leashed, yet the owners' dogs were roaming the property freely. Our daughter was calmly petting one of the dogs with me standing directly beside her when the dog suddenly growled and scratched her across the face. This was completely unprovoked and witnessed by the owner himself, who said absolutely nothing afterward. No apology, no concern, no accountability. An employee later approached us and said, "Sorry, he's old and maybe didn't like that she was the same height as him, which made him react".....which felt less like accountability and more like an absurd attempt to excuse why a reactive dog was allowed to roam off leash around guests and children. We also observed the dogs behaving territorially toward other leashed dogs on the property, making it even more inappropriate that they were allowed off leash in a public setting. My father-in-law is a VERY well known, well respected, and prominent winemaker in Virginia and across the United States, if you know anything about wine, you know him. So lets say, we understand winery culture and hospitality, fairly well. Had something like this happened on his property, it would have been handled immediately and professionally with genuine concern for the injured guest.....especially a child. Watching the owner casually continue on in his conversation with whomever, and pet the dog like nothing happened while our daughter screamed and cried was honestly unbelievable. In my opinion, not worth the visit for the subpar wine, if you want to take your children/dog somewhere. The poodles were friendly to me, and other adults, until we saw their behavior to other dogs & then my child....The complete lack of concern from ownership after a child was injured was shocking. Frankly, they are fortunate we chose not to escalate the situation further. Parents should absolutely be cautious visiting here with children or pets. An off-leash dog with territorial behavior has no place interacting freely with guests. Absolutely shocked and the owner should be ashamed of his actions & response (or lack there of) to the situation.
