I really wanted my 200th review to be 5 stars so I was super happy when I stumbled upon Croad. I have been to so many wineries in Paso and I wanted to see if there were any more extra special wineries, and I can say this is definitely one of them! Not commercialized at all! After asking around we were directed to Croad. The drive up was interesting, I kept thinking one building was it and then driving right past it. You head up the hill to a beautiful property. The outside space is AMAZING! You just cant beat how amazingly beautiful it is up here. The owners are beyond friendly and actually live part time in Bakersfield where I currently am working. We talked for a bit and tried all of these delicious wines. I really enjoyed the reds specifically the 661 and the Azura *sorry probably misspelled* The prices were very reasonable and I ended up buying a couple bottles of my favorite. I think it would be so much fun to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio here. A bonus- a great place to take pups! read more

Wow this place is great was driving all day called ahead to let the know we were going to check in late Nichole said no worries we drove up and first ting I see is a dirt road so I'm hesitant because I hate dirtying my challenger but just a few hundred yards we spot like 5 deer just walking around then we drive up and it was late and winery was closed but the set a bottle of wine and cheese crackers in our room . Talk about first class. This place is amazing the views the location 5 stars all the way. Well worth the trip and the expense can't wait to see what our rest of the weekend turns out. read more

Beautiful place, but they are not taking all the COVID precautions I would expect during these times. While we were there, they hosted massive groups of people on tour buses, and the woman that served us kept taking her mask off while pouring the wine and talking to us about the different varieties. read more

(Jump back one year ago) Rosie at Croad first introduced us to wine tasting last year. Croad... Our first winery, our first tasting...we will always hold a special place in our hearts for Croad! Their wines are wonderful, the property is gorgeous, staff is very friendly, unpretentious, and beyond helpful. I can't say enough good things about this place. I often find myself comparing other wineries to Croad. Just came back from Paso a year later and we were not going to miss Croad. Surprisingly, Rosie was back behind the bar and remembered us from last year. So friendly and relaxed (Rosie could teach a thing or two to some of the attendants at Jada Winery and Eagle Castle Winery). Wines were just as good, if not better, than last year. Had a couple of glasses on the balcony, enjoyed the Paso sunshine, can't wait to go back! BTW, to the manager of Croad...Rosie deserves a promotion or raise! Hang on to that one. We took a trip here a day ago because of a coming up wedding. The place is beautiful. The drive up is very scenic. They have a large variety of wines and different scenic areas to lounge and enjoy your wine. The staff is very friendly and informative. They really make you feel at home. read more

The drive to the tasting room is absolutely beautiful! Then when you walk in, the staff always welcomes you and pours decent sized glasses. I am not a big fan of red wine, but I love theirs! It's a great place to slow down and enjoy. Pick your favorite wine, buy a bottle, settle down on the deck and enjoy the blue sky, the birds soaring over-head...the owner will invaribly serve up some bangers...enjoy life. read more

This was my first time visiting Paso Robles and staying at Croad Vineyards was one of the highlights of our trip. It is a bit out of town, but that just serves to make for a peaceful and relaxing experience. The views from the vineyard are amazing. The owner and the people who work there are the friendliest. We got great recommendations for other places to check out nearby. In addition to the wonderful setting and friendly people, the wines were very good. I would definitely recommend this place both for a drink and for a place to sleep. read more

One of the stops on wine tour. This place is nice and quiet with a great view of the valley below. If you want to get away from the larger crowds to booze it up, this is the place. They also have an Inn that's a few steps away from the tasting room. Wine selections are good. read more

Dog friendly, beautiful setting, beautiful room and lovely people pouring our wines. Martin is a lovely sweetie and when a couple of us told him so he didn't take it so well. Haha. He may have blushed a bit. Really enjoyed this place and wished I could have lingered longer but it was the end of the day and wanted to make it to one more tasting room. Didn't love the one we rushed off to, unfortunately, and wish we had just stayed and relaxed at Croad. Kind of a bummer, actually. The wines were tasty. I think I liked the Zin the very best. I love this winery! I came here with friends and had a lovely experience. We tasted several wines and Rosie, our wine pourer, was exceptionally great! We loved chatting with her and listening to all of her wine knowledge. There are several tables to eat lunch and relax + take on the beautiful view which I recommend doing. Beautiful vineyard. Gorgeous hilltop views. They were having a wedding the day we visited and it was easy to see why the bride and groom picked the location. We LOVED the wines here. Every one we tried was delicious and it was hard not to buy them all. We almost joined the wine club and I'm regretting we didn't. We will definitely go back our next visit to the area. They have a hotel on the property that looks really nice. Haven't stayed there but would like to give it a try as well read more

We absolutely loved this little winery and highly recommend popping in. One other couple was purchasing wine as we walked in on a Monday in June. We shared a tasting and had one white and maybe 5 reds... ALL delicious! Always a crap shoot when you're looking for a new winery - but we are so happy to have found this place. I LOVED the 2011 Zin ($44) and the hubby really liked the 2010 Karakia ($40), the Red Rhone Blend. Our tasting was only $10 but since we purchase wine, the tasting fee was waived. read more

We had a wonderful experience and tasting here. The winery and indoor/outdoor tasting room is perfect: inviting and prestige at the same time. The wines were all excellent (we prefer reds, Croad's focus is reds). Facility is beautiful inside and out-, upstairs and down-. Among the excellent reds we tasted, I most enjoyed the Grenache, a surprise since I'm not typically a fan (But Paso wines often surprise me with the wonderful and special characteristics). Our server was Elise...we had a great time getting to know her as she walked us through our wines and the vineyard. Overall a triple win! Great wines, great ambiance, great service. read more

We visited Paso Robles for the first time and stayed at the inn at Croad and had a wonderful time. Martin was the best and Rosie was so helpful and friendly. Martin even took us on a quick tour of the barrel room and let us taste a couple different wines straight out of the barrels. That was so amazing and special! The wines are really great too. I fell in love with their GSM and my boyfriend loved their zin. The views from the winery were amazing and service was spectacular. Erin set up a lovely spread each morning for breakfast...waffles were a much appreciated surprise on our last morning. Just a great trip all around. I highly recommend staying here but definitely recommend stopping by for a tasting at the very least. Hopefully you can try their Rose if it's available. read more

We went there for my niece's birthday and surprised her with a private tour and tasting. Don't miss this special time to learn about how Martin transformed a week-infested piece of property into an award winning vineyard with a beautiful tasting room and inn. The wines are fabulous, the tasting room is warm (nice fireplace) with several tables that encourage leisurely picnicking. The views are spectacular and the wine staff extremely friendly. Best of all is Martin himself, who is so charismatic and knowledgable. I highly recommend a visit to this unique boutique winery hidden in the hills of Paso Robles. read more

I didn't enjoy this winery. Had a tour group of 22 people and not one person bought a bottle-that says something about the wine we were sampled. We had a pour that was approximately a sip, the person doing our tasting acted like she wished we weren't there (but that could have been the size of our group), the wine wasn't good, and when we asked if we could sample the wine that won the award (2017 syrah) they had listed on the wall,they said no. Why serve a bunch of wine, advertise your award winning wine, but not have it ready to sample? All that being said, the view is absolutely amazing! I would come just for the view, but I wouldn't come for the wine. read more

Beautiful- worth the drive up the hill to see it :) We bought a bottle of the Sangiovese and it was amazing! The wines are all very good and the scenery was perfect for just relaxing while you enjoy the good music and great wine. The only critique- the tri-tip sandwich is overpriced for what was just "ok" flavor and considering the meat wasn't juicy, the choice of bread was a mistake. Go for the view, stay to enjoy the music and wines but stay away from the BBQ ;) I will be coming back and visiting the winery again- soon!!! read more

Spent the weekend here and it was amazing. The rooms are nice, clean and romantic. The rooms may seem a little pricey however it is well worth every penny you'll spend. There is even a fire pit out on the common ground which my gf and I took full advantage of for a romantic night out under the stars. Martin, the owner, went out of his way to introduce himself and make our stay as welcoming as possible. The wine is amazing and the complimentary cheese plate is the best I've had in the area. 5 stars for the inn, the winery and the atmosphere. Beautiful grounds, the most refreshing Rosé and Brix the resident cat made for the perfect afternoon at Croad. We brought our own bread and cheese and took advantage of kiwi hour (half off wine by the glass) and sat by the fountain sipping for a few hours. I will definitely be back to try more. read more

I didn't love all of the wines we tasted but the tasting price was very fair and the $15 discount off the tasting for buying a bottle is nice. Not so good experience :( The tasting room attendant ignored us for several minutes when we stood at the counter & they weren't even busy. We showed up at 4pm & they close at 5. Tasting room attendant acted as if we were wasting her time, and sighed when we asked for the last tasting on the list. The wine wasn't anything exciting. I agree that the setting is beautiful, that is why I gave them 2 stars. But really, the wines were only fair (and actually the Zin was not even good). Of course, you could hardly tell, the pours were minuscule. The tasting room staff seemed aloof, and we were only one of 2 couples there. We came here a few weeks ago during the wine and food festival. The wines were amazing, I don't usually like reds, but we left with a few bottle. The pours were a bit stingy, but with the wine and food festival going on I could understand. The music, view and ambiance were really nice, but the 5 stars is for the wines themselves. Croad Winery is set on a beautiful hill overlooking vineyards with views for miles and miles. We joined their wine club a few years ago and have enjoyed every trip to Croad since then. The people are great, the wines are great, and the atmosphere is perfect. Today was perfect as they had a barbeque with tri tip and sausages, a live band, and beautiful weather. Thank you to Martin, Nichole, and all of the staff at Croad. We appreciate that you welcome our dog as much as us. Our dog appreciates the bites of tri tip and also rates this winery 5 stars.
