Martin the owner is hilarious and very friendly -- we both loved the story of the winery!

We came for pizza Saturdays and fell in love with it all. We loved the majority of the wines and walked away as members. The owner, Martin, chatted with us a bit and was very hospitable and funny. The pizza was delicious. The views were fabulous. A nature trail wraps around the property. There's an inn and other rental homes on the property - we met a couple as we were wine tasting that told us the breakfast at the Inn was AMAZING so it seems like we will have to be back to stay!

MUST STOP HERE!! This place is 10/10. We had the opportunity to stay at the inn for two nights and were already planning our return. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The wine at this boutique vineyard is delicious, bought some to take home. Last but not least we can't say enough about how friendly Martin (owner) and Julia (tasting room manager) were. Don't miss out, check this out.

This place was great! We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed our experience. We were able to drive just 30 minutes to the coast through the rolling hills. Our hosts were very kind, and the room was charming. We even had glasses of wine waiting for us upon arrival. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!

Prior to my wife booking our stay at Croad, I had never heard of it. You won't find their wines at any grocery store or wine store because they are a small boutique winery. Their grapes are dry-farmed (only subsisting on natural rainwater and ground water the vines can extract from their long roots). The result is a "stressed," smaller, grape that concentrates the juice which translates into a more flavor intense wine. Well it shows in their products. I have always loved a red blends and fuller wines and Croad is our first membership. They have a super cozy inn with 4 bedrooms near the tasting room (key location) and another ranch house at the entrance to the property that you can rent out for larger groups. Martin and Patty are welcoming hosts who make some pretty darn good wine. Check it out!

Ohhhh I love the wine here! So delicious and rich! What a treat to have this wine! The wine was so good that my friend signed up for the wine membership club. The view of this place is spectacular. You can sit indoors or out on the patio. One our 2nd visit, we ordered a bottle and sat on their outdoor patio. If you haven't tried Croad wine, it's worth a stop!

We stopped by during our day of wine tasting and this was our first stop. Everything was wonderful! We left with a couple bottles of vino. We will definitely be back when we visit Paso Robles again.

If I could pick my favorite wine and vineyard in Paso Robles it would have to be Croad Winery. The owner is a Kiwi from New Zealand and he does dry farming. The result is a very bold rich tasting wine unlike the others we have tried. You can make a reservation for a tasting and then get a cheese plate and enjoy the beautiful view. Martin and Patty have built beautiful grounds in the vineyard where you can sit and relax with a view of the vineyard and enjoy a tasty pizza for lunch which is made in an outdoor pizza oven. There are nature trails through the property that are nicely shaded. You can also play corn hole or bocce ball. We stayed over night in their bed and breakfast inn and had the best sleep ever in their comfy beds. Rosy took good care of us making sure we had fresh fruit and freshly brewed coffee. We joined their wine club so we will be back a lot. Thanks Martin, Patty, and Rosy for taking such good care of us on our vacation. This will be our home a way from home for many years to come. Happy Yelping!

Loved it! Plenty of seating, but still an intimate spot to have a sip and conversation. We were greeted when we came in, and she took us to a neat area in the back where they host weddings. Beautiful views, well maintained landscaping, tables and chairs were comfortable and clean, and she was super knowledgeable. We didn't try the cheese plate, but we brought our own food. Super cute small business-vibe with some rad wines! Will be coming back!

What a great place!! First off the wine tasting is complimentary if you stay in one of their rooms!! The place is very clean and the owner Martin and his staff are amazing. Great relaxing place to stay!! Will be back down!! They have a ton of seating around the property it is great!!

Accidentally found this winery while in Paso and really loved it. It's a bit of a drive to get to but the grounds are super cute and the views are spectacular. We enjoyed the wine as well. The hostess was welcoming and we just did a glass instead of a full tasting. Parking is free and easy. They also have a hotel attached in case you want to stay and relax here. Lovely spot in Paso!

Our deepest apologies to Lisa and Rob that this review is so overdue…read more I found Kindred Oak Farm by perusing the internet, it looked absolutely stunning. I called to make a reservation and spoke to the owner, Lisa. She was so warm, accommodating, and helpful-when I hung up the phone, I said I could be friends with that gal. When my husband and I arrived we were greeted by the friendliest, most beautiful, Great Pyranese brother and sister duo, Auggie & Gigi. Then, we met Lisa. She was so welcoming to us and so beautiful inside and out. She explained everything to us, showed us our spectacular room, Adelaide, that was full of upscale amenities. The entire room and bath area was amazing. The grand fireplace, the bathtub for two, the linens on the bed, the fabulous bottle of wine-I could go on. Even the coffee was from a local, organic coffee maker. Now let's get to the three-course breakfast we were served everyday of our four-day stay. We felt like we were at a three-star Michelin restaurant that included incredible homemade juices by Lisa. Each course was so presented so elegantly, but also in an atmosphere that made you feel right at home. Of course we went wine tasting. Lisa and Rob (Lisa's husband and co-owner) recommended wonderful wineries that we went to, and we were very pleased. Everywhere we went I had to tell them where we were staying and how beautiful and relaxing the B&B was. Back on our first morning there, Rob had taken us for a tour of the farm where we saw the game room, wedding area, the vineyard, and my favorite-the beautiful highlander cattle. Such an experience-no wonder Lisa and Rob are so happy there. Also, an honorable mention goes out to Little Girl, their precious kitty. We will definitely be back and have told all of our friends about this heaven on earth B&B. Thank you, Lisa and Rob, for making my birthday a wonderful memory!

We stayed in the Oak Room which was very clean, well maintained, and so cozy. The views are incomparable. PS - the rooms do not have TV. Which was fine for us. We enjoyed exploring the grounds. All the animals are very gentle. Wanted to see the cows, but couldn't find them. Detracting half a star to the overall review for: confusion on check-in & overnight dog barking. Upon arrival, We walked in with another couple, and there wasn't anyone to greet us for about 5 to 10 minutes. The other couple texted, called without connection. There were no instructions on checking in either. So we were just confused together for a while until our host appeared. In addition, a dog was barking intermittently the whole night, for both nights that we stayed. So that detracted a little but overall a good experience and would recommend.

For my Wife's Birthday this past November, we booked our first trip to Paso Robles…read more To be perfectly honest... I don't know why, but I always thought that Paso Robles or "Paso" as it's referred to, was some Podunk town that just wasn't worth stopping for. Yeah, I've passed it so many times while traveling North on "THE 101" or simply "101" as they refer to it in NorCal.... ;) (IYKYK) And all those times I've passed through, I've never once thought about pulling off the freeway to see what Paso was all about. Well, just like Julia Robert's character said in Pretty Woman while shopping on Rodeo Drive.... "Big Mistake. Big. HUGE!" Yeah, just like that sales clerk in Pretty Woman I too made a HUGE mistake! Plot Twist: I am the Good Looking Not Quite the Silver Fox Richard Gere of this story. =) ----So let's break down Paso & The Ava Hotel---- For my wife's Birthday Weekend, we made reservations at... The Ava Hotel Paso Robles. Mind you, we left mid-day from our home and by the time we arrived to Paso and pulled into the Hotel parking lot, it was already dark, but right away I could tell that the Hotel my wife booked us was Top Notch. First Impression: Sheesh, my wife sure knows how to spoil herself for HER Birthday weekend. Haha. Once parked, I had my wife and 3 girls head into the lobby out of the cold while I lugged what felt like 12 suitcases... We were only there for three nights; do you really need a suit case just for your change of shoes?? Gotta love Girls... Plot twist: The suitcase with the extra shoes.... WAS MINE!!!!!! Jk, maybe, not really, I'll never tell... =) Upon checking in, I immediately noticed how Great the staff was; Kind, Welcoming and from the looks of the place, even at night, I just knew we were going to enjoy our weekend stay here. ----The Room---- Everything you'd expect, but More! We had 2 comfy Queens, a large screen TV, a mini fridge, a clean bathroom and a Great standalone shower! Being that this hotel is Brand New, everything was clean and felt nearly unused which really made for an enjoyable stay. The next morning, my wife's actual Birthday, we got dressed, headed downstairs and celebrated with a Birthday Mimosa from their Lobby Bar. It was the perfect start to our day and to my wife's Special Day From there we headed out to explore Downtown Paso Robles which BTW, The Ava Hotel is what I would call the start of the Downtown area so it's literally the PERFECT place to stay if you, yourself come to Paso Robles one day. And to those still with us, Remember earlier when I said I made a "Big Mistake. Big. Huge!" By simply thinking that Paso Robles was some Podunk, no-nothin town that wasn't worth exiting the freeway for?? Well, I'll be the 1st to admit. I was wrong!!! Paso is one of my new favorite Central Coast towns that I can't wait to come back to. The fun little shops, the great eateries, Wine, more Wine, Did I mention there's Wine? Yeah, loads and loads of world-renowned wineries specializing in French Reds, but they've got whites too so don't stress. Not a wine person? More of a beer drinker? Paso's Got You!! Come check out Firestone Walker Brewing Co., home of the "805" beer; the regions Phone Area Code. Yeah, drink local baby!! So after enjoying breakfast at the Cowgirl Cafe (Epic Review coming soon), we went to the downtown park at let our kids play with the locals. We then hit several of the eclectic shops, including a local bookstore where my wife was like a kid in a candy store and The Spice of Life Tea Shop which I fell in love with (reviews of everywhere we went NEXT, so stay tuned) and finally made our way back to The Ava to take a break and rest our pups (our feet). Upon walking back to The Ava Hotel, I couldn't help but be in Awe of this well manicured, architecturally forward, beautifully designed building. To be honest, It looks and it feels more like a Resort and I felt so spoiled to be apart of its beginning days and I'm proud to give it the 5 stars it deserves. So... What have we learned?? Step 1: Book a room at the Ava Hotel. Step 2: Put your wife's name on the luggage tag of your suitcase for the extra shoes you really brought. Step 3: Bring one empty suitcase for all the Romantasy books your wife's gonna buy at Spare Time Books! To Paso.... To The Ava Hotel... I can't wait to come back!

The pool area could use more shade, and when we tried to purchase drinks from the nearby rooftop restaurant, we were told it was closed for a private event. Fortunately, a server later came to the pool and took our drink order. One nice surprise was that we didn't have to pay for hotel parking, as there was plenty of free street parking available right outside the property. The location was excellent--just around the corner from the town square, where many of the area's best shops and restaurants are located. While we're not certain we would stay here again, we enjoyed our one-night stay last week and had an overall pleasant experience.

We used the pool/hot tub. I peeped in the exercise room plenty of activities for all. We didn't dine at the property, but the bar was fully stocked and I did enjoy a delicious Old Fashion one evening. My only complaint: as we stayed 4 nights there was no room cleaning and we ran out of towels and toilet paper. We were informed by staff rooms were cleaned every 3 days. Our room was never straightened or checked on and when we ran out of toilet paper I was informed by staff: "please come to the front desk as I am the only person on duty presently." I believe that this hotel would benefit by placing a placard regarding the checks on rooms, refill on towels/toilet paper and emptying of trash cans so guests are aware of the situation. At the time, I assumed they may have been overbooked and did not think much of it. However, when I returned at a later date and tried to use my rewards points for another stay, I was refused. The manager was not there, but I was told I owed money and had supposedly left the room a mess. This was the first I had heard of any issue. I was never notified, billed, or given any explanation. I tried to follow up so I could better understand what happened and pay any legitimate outstanding balance, but I received no clear answers, no examples, and no documentation. To make matters worse, my rewards points were still kept, which was especially frustrating because I had spent a significant amount staying there for multiple days while transitioning before moving out of state. Those points would have been helpful during my cross-country trip at other Choice Hotels. I understand that a business can refuse service, and I am not disputing that. My issue is the way it was handled. I was not notified ahead of time, I was not given documentation, and I was not given a clear explanation or opportunity to resolve whatever issue they claimed existed. I arrived expecting to use my rewards points for a stay, only to be turned away around 9 p.m. with nowhere lined up to go. That put me in a stressful and embarrassing position, especially since this could have been communicated before I arrived. To this day, I still do not recall leaving the room in poor condition. I was careful during my stay, and although I paid to have my dog there, I did not even bring him into the room most days. My card was on file, and I made a point to check in with the front desk to confirm everything was squared away. I also had some issues with the service during my stay. Housekeeping was inconsistent and rarely came by. When they did, items were often only partially restocked -- for example, I might receive one coffee pod but no creamers or sugar, or toilet paper would be replaced but not tissues. It was not a huge issue at the time, but looking back, it adds to the overall concern about communication and service standards. Being turned away without prior notice, proof, or clear communication was embarrassing and upsetting. I originally loved this hotel because the location was perfect for me -- close to family, convenient, and comfortable -- but the way this situation was handled completely changed my impression. I have never had anything like this happen at a hotel before, and it was an awful experience.

It definitely invites you to sit down and snuggle by the fire with a good book. Such a cozy feeling! You can also select some candy for a snack. The rooms themselves are also beautiful and the bedding looks nice. Though I will say for me personally the pillows were really uncomfortable, and they had a rough spun duvet which smelled musty on the inside like it hadn't been washed in quite awhile. It looked and smelled like they were washing the sheets and the blanket but not the duvet itself. They also offer breakfast in the morning, but it's a little bit later than some other places so if you have to get an early start, then you probably won't be able to catch it. Overall I really enjoyed the stay and would say this experience is really good for the boutique traveler that is looking for a peaceful, unhurried trip.

The beds are incredibly comfortable, the hotel is spotless, and every staff member I've interacted with has been wonderful. They completed a remodel about a year ago, and it was definitely needed the updated look feels fresh, modern, and inviting. The location is fantastic, conveniently situated near many of Paso Robles' amazing wineries and perched on a hill with beautiful views. I also love that they showcase local wineries, featuring monthly vineyard spotlights and wine tastings on select days. Another pleasant surprise is the restaurant. The food is genuinely delicious, which isn't always the case with hotel dining. They frequently offer great specials, such as half-price appetizers and complimentary corkage on your first bottle of wine on select days. It's rare to find a hotel that delivers great rooms, excellent service, and quality dining all in one place. I always enjoy my stay and look forward to coming back!

It honestly made me wonder--if this is what they provide for guests with disabilities, that's concerning. The shower knob was broken, there was an old leather jacket left in the closet, and there was barely any countertop space in the bathroom. Along with several other minor issues, it was clear the room hadn't been properly checked or cleaned. To their credit, the staff was friendly and quickly moved me to another room, which I appreciated. That said, for a hotel of this caliber, you'd expect at least complimentary coffee--but there wasn't any. They do have a restaurant that opens at 7:00 AM, but when I arrived right at 7:00, it wasn't open. An employee mentioned the staff was running late--it was already 7:10 AM by then. Not a great look. I've stayed at the Courthouse Marriott before, where they offer free coffee and breakfast, and in hindsight, I wish I had stayed there again. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning here.

I was towed to a nearby street so I didn't have to worry about being charged for self-parking. We were greeted warmly and given a clean quiet room on the 3rd floor. We were across a parking lot from a strip mall and were able to stock up on pjs and snacks. It was the silver lining after a stressful afternoon. Breakfast was good: eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, oatmeal. I would stay here again.

This has been the only hotel that charges a parking fee. The ones closer to downtown doesn't even charge anything. It took me a while to set up pay to park, which was not fun after a long day of work. My 1st night I amlost fell on toilet because they are super low. They are elementary school sized toilets. As someone else mentioned, the big gap underneath the door makes it easier to hear everyone. The 1st night I heard some lady have a long conversation at 11 pm and on. My last day, someone's phone vibrated at 5am, 5:15 and 5:30am and I thought it was my phone bc of the thin walls. That person also had a full on conversation with his partner, so needless to say I gave up on sleeping until 730 am. Another thing I didn't like is the lack of black out curtains. So the sunrise would wake me up the first couple more nights. Room does have a nice size and I like how it has a desk. Wish there was a light switch to turn on more lights in the room, instead of individually flipping on all the lights. Other amenities they offer are free breakfast, mini gym and computer to do office or emails. I had stomach issues 2 days in a row from their breakfast so I started to stick with fruits and coffee for breakfast. I'm pretty sure the yogurt gave me issues because it's just yogurt on an ice pack on the bottom vs other places having yogurt in the fridgator or some container that looks like it stays cooler. The gym had a couple treadmills, free weights, kettle bells, the jumping box thingy, and a thing that looks like a bow flex. I personally would not book this place ever again due to paying to park, not having to have good sleep due to thin walls and gap underneath the door and the food giving me stomach issues. But I will say staff is friendly tho!
