Favorite Bar for Friday Night Happy Hour! I love coming here for 1$ beers on Fridays! It's more of an over 30 crowd Friday during happy hour, but that's fine by me. Service is usually very good and you almost always can find a seat at the bar. Only down side to happy hour is the second it's over (at 9) the place becomes a ghost town. They have a nice big patio and I have seen a band or two playing here from time to time. I haven't ever eaten here but the food looks great from what I have seen. I have heard nothing but good things about the drag brunch and I can't wait to check that out. We have been to Croc's several times and we always have a great experience! The food is fresh and top quality. Our favorites are the Cheese Grilled Caprese, the Calamari, the Scallops, and the Seared Tuna Taco. Also, they have a great selection of wine; ask your server for a recommendation and they will take good care of you. This is definitely one of our favorite places to eat in Virginia Beach! read more

We made a reservation weeks ago for today for my sister's birthday. After waiting about 20 minutes to be seated at our table. The hostess seated us at the bar! Where there was no table for us, people beside us had tables! We were by the register and she told us it was the "VIP section" although there was barely room to sit let alone eat! Croc's is one of my favorite local restaurants so I approached the owners Laura and Kal to plan our rehearsal dinner. They were happy to accommodate our group of 40+ on a Friday night and offered great advice planning a menu and drinks for our guests. Their experience with larger groups allowed all of us to have an amazing meal and an enjoyable evening before our wedding day. Kudos to Chef Matt and your kitchen staff for all of your hard work! Not that impressed considering how excited we were to try out the place for a lazy Saturday lunch. The atmosphere was nice, the place is built around being sustainable but was quite cold due to the excessive air conditioning even though it was a cloudy day. For appetizers we ordered the gator bites and bacon/avocado pizza. The gator bites were deep fried with little taste to them outside the occassional surprise in good tasting meat. The side sauce was moderately tangy but nothing special. The cheese on the pizza had no taste to it and the avocado was quite brown (although I know avocado is still good when brown, it's not very appealing in a restaurant meal presentation). BF had the steak and cheese sandwich, which he says was ok. The french fries were crinkle cut which makes me think they came pre-packaged and frozen. I had the black and bleu angus burger with grilled asparagus, which was a substantial improvement over my appetizer. I ordered it without a bun though, and the presentation of my meal was ruined by a big white plate with a single burger and 8 pieces of asparagus stacked in the middle. Service was good, but either the staff was extremely tired or lacked personality in general. read more

I have only been here one time and it left a bad taste in my mouth, but not from the food. I came for my first ever Drag Brunch. I was a little apprehensive, but had heard that it was great fun. There were 5 performers and I enjoyed 4/5 of them, but one of them took it way too far for my taste. Also, the only thing I ordered was the Skinny Bitch which is basically a yogurt parfait. It took over an hour to get to me and when it did it wasn't that great, but not bad. Most of my friends had a good time, but one of my friends agreed with me that the one performer was too much and even told me it made her throw up just thinking about it when she got home. I guess I wasn't the only one with a bad taste in my mouth. read more

This is my second time to Croc's and it didn't disappoint! The food was terrific ( steaks, crab cake, and seared tuna) and the wine list is wonderful. My girlfriend and I go to Croc's about once a month. The food is absolutely delicious and the wine selection is amazing. I'm a huge fan of the Lebanese platter and my girlfriend loves the crab cake and risotto. There is a bar if you are just dropping in for some drinks or you can make reservations and have a relaxing dinner at a table in the dining room. I definitely recommend trying it out! read more

Attention SHAMROCK MARATHONERS! TERRIBLE! Although they helped sponsor the marathon, the service was terrible! This was the worst, longest 1-course lunch meal I have ever eaten. My party and I arrived after finishing the 8K on Saturday, famished and ready to EAT! There was some "fund-raiser" going on to send a girl to climb a mountain all in the name of breast cancer. Or the Eco System. Or the effects of the eco-system and the correlation to breast cancer. Something to that effect. There was a "band" and by band, I mean one lady with a guitar singing cover songs in such a way I wanted to start cutting myself. Think - a smoky, raspy Melissa Ethridge singing Billy Joel with an indy vibe. We waited at the front door to be seated (at noon on a Saturday), as we peered inside, the restaurant was empty. We waited for about 5 minutes to be seated. After being seated, we waited another 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drink orders. We sat down, and watched a party of about 6-7 get seated next to us. They were waiting so long that a member of their party hopped the bussing/kitchen area and hijacked some oyster crackers to tide them over until the waitress paid them more attention. Food came, I ordered the Black and Blue burger with fries...fries were terribly cold and the burger was overly salty and over-seasoned. However, I will add that they made my burger perfectly: Medium: Pink with juice running out. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which he said was "eh", since it was just fried chicken with hot wing sauce drizzled in the wrap. He was expecitng the chicken to have been dredged into the sauce. I mean, that's the image you get when you think, "buffalo chicken," right? Friend ordered the Baba Ganush for the appetizer, it was surprisingly good, with a good taste, probably could have been presented better than looking like some soft-serve on a huge plate, though. We waited, and waited, and waited, for service from the waitress. We didnt' even receive condiments for our food -- there isn't even salt and pepper on the table! After our plates were obviously finished...meaning, all food was combined to one plate and stacked in the middle of the table, our waitress continued to breeze by us. I even made eye contact with what appeared to be the manager, who averted my gaze. The waitress finally took my husband's credit card, put it in her portfolio, and then put the portfolio in her apron. Then we watched the credit card go around and around the restaurant in her apron for a good 15 minutes. Even the people in the booth across from us apologized for asking our waitress for a glass of water--keeping her away from the task of running our bill. The wait staff, manager, or other employees didnt even offer any sort of apology or gratefulness for our patience...and the place wasn't even that busy! Terrible; I wish I could have written this reiview on Saturday afternoon, so Shamrock Marathoners would be advised to stay away... You would think that if they had an ad inside of the Shamrock Marathon program, saying they sponsored the marathon and that the Shamrock Marathon recommends the restauruant, that the restaurant would be a little more prepared to deal with an influx of 8000+ people entering the VA Beach area. For dinner, we went to Carrabas near Landmark Mall. The service there was excellent - compared to our lunch service, we felt like kings! read more

Maybe I'm just not the biggest fan of club/bars like this. The band that played the night I was there was awesome but the layout isn't all that user friendly. It would be nice to have a single floor around the bar, or maybe a place they could serve in the corner on the bottom... it is cool to watch the crowd from the higher level but constantly being bumped from behind by people struggling to obtain refreshments, is annoying. It does draw a crowd though and I bet the place rakes in some cash on Thursdays. read more

Drag brunch - YAAASSSS! Such a fun morning. The show ran longer than the hour and a half they say on the website, but that's great! The only thing I would say is be sure to order all your food/drinks before the show starts because the music is LOUD and it's crowded and the waiters have a hard time getting around amidst the dancing - lol. Went to Croc's last night for dinner with my family. 3 of us had just come from the gym, so I liked that I was able to eat somewhere with healthy & organic options but dressed casual in gym clothes. It was 6:50 when the 5 of us got seated. There were a total of 5-6 tables in the restaurant the entire time we were there & 2 servers. It was about 8:15 when we left the restaurant. I feel like that was an excessive time span for dinner on a Tues night when the restaurant wasn't the slightest bit busy. Our food was good & our server was extremely friendly. However, she burned our original batch of bread, so the fresh loaf didn't come out until we were almost done with our entrees... And she seemed stretched a bit thin, but only had 3 tables... The biggest downer was that 1 of my family members who shall remain nameless "barely made it home" b/c he was so sick after eating the scallop entree... The highlight of the dining experience for me was the organic Bonterra sauvignon blanc & spending time with my family. I've gone to Croc's several times on weekend nights for drinks, but this was only the 2nd-3rd time that I've actually eaten there. I might come back for lunch, but not when I'm in a hurry (& I'll avoid the scallops). But I'll definitely be back for the Bonterra sauvignon blanc. read more

I came here for my friends birthday a yr ago for drag sunday it was great!! Then came back months later with fiancee and service was not good.. Tried it one more time with a big party of 7. Told us 35/45 min wait as to we were gonna leave okie we'll wait, sat outside bartender was helpful we had drinks appetizers outside.. 9pm tells us theres an open table come in to the restaurant there was4 open tables... Felt as they were neglecting not sure wat word to use we are latinos.. Leave it at that. Food great wont be coming back. read more

Among their wide range of menu items, I just love the pan-seared sea scallops, the seafood risotto and five-pepper tuna. Both the food and service are great, with a cool bar/good bar tending, and an excellent wine selection. You can eat inexpensively or more extravagantly. It's all good. Highly recommend. read more

Ended up here during this year's Memorial Day weekend after an attempt to dine at a restaurant my fiancé and I visited before had a long wait. Wasn't too long of a walk from the main strip of the beach to this establishment, AND there was no wait. The lighting was a bit dimmer than I prefer, but the casual ambiance was cool. We feasted on the croc's crab dip while we waited for our entrees. There was way more crab than dip; a good problem to have! I would have preferred bruschetta to the bread that was provided. I had the jumbo crab cakes with the risotto; both were tasty. You could imagine I had my share of crab meat that evening! I think my fiancé had the sirloin steak, which he had no complaints about. I would like to visit again for the Sunday drag brunch! read more

What a fun brunch! The entertainment was awesome! They had a few entertainers come out along with the host. The food was pretty good. The drinks were good but pretty overpriced. They fit a lot of people in there which is good. The service was good as well. The show was like 2 hours long which was filled with the entertainers coming out a few times each. It got really hot in there with all the dancing and bodies which was a little uncomfortable but it was a warm day when we went. The entertainers did a great job and really engaged the crowd. The only thing that got a little awkward was that after the second time they came out, people were running out of money or just giving less so the entertainers were walking around looking but not as many people were giving at that point. The hostess did a great job and was hilarious! The DJ played good music and was having a blast which was contagious. I would go back for sure! read more

Crocs is 5 star worthy as far as the performance that they put on & I was highly impressed that the show lasted as long as it did (hour and a half). All the Drag Queens were lovely & even let you take pics throughout the show & group photos afterwards. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because my French toast wasn't all that great. It was kind of dry and boring & you only get 1 measly piece of bacon with it. However the hash-browns were good & my mom & aunt both enjoyed their shrimp & grits. This restaurant/bar has been around for a long time, but I am SO impressed with their SOL (sustainable, organic, local) veggies and herbs in their cuisines!!! Do not underestimate the absolute DELIGHT of the foods that come fresh out of their garden. I cannot do nightshades, and they were so accommodating, allowing me to do a "make it your own" salad. Also, the addition of their fresh seafood is out of this world. PLUS, the staff has been so incredibly pleasant the last couple of times I have been there. Went here with my family on vacation. Great atmosphere. When you see the outside of this place you do not expect to walk in to a place with wine flutes on every table, flowers, nice tablecloths, etc. The staff were very friendly and the music choices were enjoyable. The food was alright. Everything had good flavor, but a little overpowered with spices. I went through like 3 glasses of water with the chile. Also had the blackened tuna (again very good, but way too much pepper). The crab cakes were amazing though, on top of risotto with asparagus loved every bite. Also something interesting on the menu, that I'd never had before, was fried alligator tail. Sooo good. Definitely try it if you aren't wierded out by it. read more

I went here for a girls' night out (july 25) and we had a wonderful time. Our server was very attentive and knowledgable. They were able to accommodate my vegan needs and my friends enjoyed their dishes very much. I enjoy places that can accommodate all different food desires and they certainly do! Great place to return with friends while back in Hampton Roads. Good show! Good food & drinks (though some food & drink items are a bit overpriced) The restaurant seemed hotter than I remember from past shows. Our server needed a personality adjustment. She seemed pissed the whole time and certainly didn't deserve the 20% tip that was automated on our bill!!! The DJ was hysterically entertaining to watch since we had a perfect view into the booth! Made reservations 2 weeks in advance for drag yourself to brunch. They will charge you if anyone in your party doesn't show up. Arrived at 10:30 for our party, checked in with the hostess and she said they will come and seat us when it was time. Waiting a good 30 mins and realized everyone was sat except us. When we questioned what was going on the hostess informed us that the other party had brought extra people and that we would not be able to have our own table, but we could sit in the back behind the bar, where you couldn't see anything. That when things started happening badly, the manager said "what do you want me to do" we replied we want a table we have baby sitters for the day and can't reschedule as they wanted us to. So I asked the manager if he could comp our drinks and food and we would stay. Answer was I'll buy you a drink, well I don't drink I told him. After this I proceeded to tell him how unprofessional he was running this and finally offers to put us at a already occupied table seated for 3 for a group of us that we're 7. We were highly upset. I left, my friends stayed. So I proceeded to call the owner to let him know about the situation. When this happened it was the same man I spoke to earlier. He threatened to find where I work at if I didn't take the negative post down I left him. Then decides to leave these comments on the page and delete them the next day. A manager/owner should never yell, cuss, or threaten a paying customer. He knew he was in the wrong by going on my Facebook page to find out what company I work for and post it on the comments section. We were never rude to the staff, never were we late, nor did my friends make another reservation. This manager made up all these lies about me to save face then deleted everything.
