Beer was great and Bethany, my server, was wonderful. I felt welcome as a single diner, which isn't always the case at some restaurants. My second visit was a little less wonderful. I sat inside, had a different server on a busy night and felt unappreciated, to be honest. The pace was frenetic with servers and bussers rushing around throughout the restaurant. My server was OK, but I don't think she cared one way or another about my experience as a patron and it showed. Servers really can make a big difference in dining experiences. I know that it's not an easy job, but something to think about for any servers reading reviews. FYI - the reserved signs on the outdoor tables simply mean that you need to see the hostess. The tables are not actually reserved. They really should use different wording because I almost kept walking, thinking that all the outside tables were taken.

Friday night at Crosby's was an absolute delight! We had the pleasure of dining with a group of friends and their children, totaling six adults and six kids. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by the attentive manager, Luis, who promptly seated us. The entire staff, including the servers, went above and beyond to cater to our large group's needs. This was actually my second visit to Crosby's, and I can confidently say that I will be returning again in the future. The exceptional service provided, coupled with the good-quality food, truly made our experience memorable. I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Luis and the entire staff for their outstanding efforts. Their attentiveness and dedication to ensuring our satisfaction were truly commendable. Luis, in particular, did an amazing job, and I wanted to give him a special shoutout. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor made us feel welcome and taken care of throughout the evening. Went to a Cubs game today. Then ventured over here at the recommendation of our usher at Wrigley. We had the amazing Kaylie wait in us. She was very excited to see us. This was our first time here as we are Baseball Stampeders for all 30 ballparks. She recommended several things on the menu. We ended up with the cornbread with maple butter appetizer upon her recommendation. It was amazing. Could have been a meal by its self. We each ordered something different Baby back ribs, Prime Rib sandwich, Fish and Chips and Filets Friets. All was cooked correctly. We are from Texas and the ribs were falling off the bone. Kaylie's personality was over flowing no matter who she was waiting on or just moving about the restaurant. However, I do recommend reservations, specially on a cubs home game day. I recently visited Crosby's Kitchen with a group of eight for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I ordered the Lakeview Omelette and the Buttermilk Pancakes with Fresh Fruit. The omelette was savory and hearty and the buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness. Really enjoyed the fresh strawberries and blueberries. But the real standout dish for me was the Monkey Bread that we ordered to share. It was warm, gooey, and absolutely addictive - an absolute must-try if you visit Crosby's Kitchen for breakfast. I've been here a half dozen times, the latest being last night and it is always really good. I have been to many restaurants where they are generally good and may have an off night, but not Crosby's. Everything I have had here has been very good, the servers are always polite and reasonably fast without being annoyingly so. There are always kids here, yet it does not have that "out of control kid vibe"-not an easy balance to find. The pricing is very reasonable. We had salmon, chicken, wine, and split a dessert and the bill was $45. I have seen a few complaints here about price, but I don't get it. Maybe those are from folks used to dining in chain restaurants in Palatine. Will definitely be back again. read more

The Resturant had a family atmosphere, I serious every table had a minimum of one kid, it wasn't like I didn't like it. The food was wonderful I hit the salmon with fries it was cooked just right my wife had the beef steak it was also wonderful. Don't leave the place with out trying the corn bread its a must try. The was packed but lucky us we arrived at about 5:30 it was a late lunch early dinner, but as soon as it became 6:15 people were standing waiting for tables to finish. One more thing the food didn't take long to cook 15 minutes max. I would go there again read more

Stopped by Crosby's Kitchen in Lakeview for brunch and grabbed the Housemade Monkey Bread--Nana's secret sweet dough recipe with cinnamon, sugar, and light cream cheese frosting. It was about $9 before tip, and honestly, it was a solid treat. The bread was warm, sticky, and sweet without being over the top. The cream cheese frosting added a nice tangy balance. It's a perfect shareable if you're with friends or just want a sweet bite to start your day. The vibe inside is cozy and welcoming, and the staff was friendly. This is probably the worst restaurant to ever exist. Terrible, rude, and unprofessional staff. The food is awful. I have never been to such an unorganized establishment in my life. The people that work there are the meanest human beings I've ever come in contact. I'd imagine it'd be an incredibly unhealthy environment to work in. The restaurant is always filled with large groups and families. We never have to wait long to be seated and the staff is super accommodating. Went here last night. Very solid food. A lot of it is based around roasted chicken. Very homey feel to the food, like food that would stick to your bones as my mom would say. Chicken dip is great. We sit on the right side of the bar, enjoy the banter with the bartenders, and look to right, mesmerized by the rotisserie. Just a great neighborhood place. The chips are crisp and delicious, the salsa has the right amount of kick. I also ordered the short rib cheese crisp and it was delicious. A member of our group was Gluten Free and the server was very knowledgeable on recommending the right items. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the vibes were chill. We were celebrating my sister's birthday and received complimentary ice cream for dessert - so good! I'm from Arizona and know Old Pueblo Cantina would be very popular there - wish we had one! In the meantime, this place will definitely be on my Chicago hitlist for future visits! Highly recommend!

Service is not only friendly but fast and attentive. They really focused on cleanliness after each diner left, never in my life noticed that kind of detail. The food was top notch. The Quesabirras were so mouth watering. The rice and bean side did not disappoint either and I usually don't eat beans but I ate every last one! This establishment has earned a committed customer. Being the area I made reservations which I can tell you is HIGHLY recommended, if on a game day. I cannot speak for things on a day that's not one but this was and they were booming with a line out the door. We were sat promptly upon arrival and greeted quickly by our server. She was incredibly kind and even seeked information for us regarding parking in the area, thank you! We started with a cocktail and a draft beer, I had the Dovetail on draft and they are very good and local! Appetizer was a bit of a let down, we ordered pretzel bites, which seemed like the ones you buy from Walmart, not fresh at all, queso wasn't bad tho Entrees were on point tho! My rigatoni was cooked perfectly and the bolognese was full of flavor, my wife got her burger and had no complaints on her end. Overall not a bad experience, I would like to try them again on a day that's not a game day in the future and maybe ask for a suggestion on appetizers next time as I feel that one was a complete skip. Huge shoutout to our server, Marianne. Even while handling a crazy number of tables, she stayed friendly, professional, efficient, and even kept everyone updated on the weather. The vibe was definitely loud (understandably) and our back-corner table had more of a retro diner feel than the upscale ambiance we expected. Food was solid: the warm bread board was a great starter, the steak salads were good (although the steak consistency varied a bit), and the warm chocolate cookie dessert was tasty--though the soft serve reminded me a little of DQ. Cocktails were strong, but with an $18 espresso martini and a $24 premium dirty martini, you're definitely paying Chicago prices. Overall, we spent about two hours there waiting for the skies to clear, and despite the chaos of the storm, the staff handled an incredibly busy night with grace. Good food, strong drinks, and excellent service when it mattered most.

So, that's a pretty solid endorsement. I hadn't been here (or even heard of it, but I'm rarely in this part of the city). We were in the back room and it was a great little space for the event. The food was great (served buffet style, but from their regular menu. The avocado toast, fresh fruit, and potatoes were all extremely good). The servers were also super nice and attentive. It was easy to get to (about a 10 min walk from the Sheridan stop. Parking looks manageable when it's not a Cubs game day, which is why i took the train.)

The fish was mostly batter and three small pieces of fish. Flavor was good and fries were hot and crispy but for $21 it felt like tastier fish sticks. The mac and cheese with chorizo was again good but portion was small for $25. My Chicago friends had the grilled chicken sandwich and it looked big. Maybe it depends on what you order but I doubt I'll give it a third try.

I was so hungry that I ordered their cheeseburger with fries. It was delicious. It comes on a tasty brioche bun. I get the herb mustard mayo on the side to dip my fries in and add lettuce and tomato to the burger. It's super fresh and well cooked. The pretzel is also a must-order. I did not leave a review my first visit because I assumed the food was so good because I was so hungry. Well, I went back today and the burger was just as delicious. So now I must tell the masses. Only drawback to this place is that it has limited paid street parking. It's better if you don't drink and drive but for a sober person like me, parking would be nice. It also gets crazy crowded on the weekend and I don't feel like the optimize seating at the bar or on the dining floor which makes the wait much longer. Definitely check it out during the summer because they have accordion style windows that are pulled back to make it like a patio.
