Love this unique little cafe! Excellent light food (sandwhiches, salads, etc) great breakfasts and yummy espresso drinks! Has a funky-artsy old west decor. My only complaint about this place is its a little on the small side and usually crowded so its sometimes hard to get a table, and they make you bus your own table when you're done.. First time here... Lots of hipsters in this joint. The "B" Health Department rating in the window was a bit of a turn off and the 30mins + for the food to arrive was pretty brutal but I will say I enjoyed the food. Everything we had was pretty good. The burger that my brother ordered was huge and delicious. Mike's mess which is an egg scramble that comes with rosemary potatoes was really good. My mom's pancakes were slightly burnt, and not very good. Overall the food an service were both good so we will be back! read more

REally enjoyed this place, would definately eat here again if came to the area. We sat on the patio with our dog tied up nearby. The design inside is really well done. Start your day right by eating at the crossroads Café in JT. Levon has a great thing going. the food was flavorful. my partner had the bacon cheeseburger and he devoured it. I had the chicken cilantro soup, which was yummy. We will definitely be going back. Plan on waiting 30 minutes though to get a table. read more

The cafe is a fun vibe - they have a nice little outdoor garden and the environment is relaxed and welcoming. The staff is friendly, but when I was there it was a little busy and they seemed understaffed. The food is passable. If you're in the area and need a quick bite you should stop in here for the character, but don't stop expecting an amazing meal. read more

Sad to say I will not ever return to this place and I was looking forward to it. The night server was very rude, she not only lost money for herself but lost money for the owners. If you plan on going don't bring a party of 7 and mind you 3 were adults and 4 children. The head server had a problem accommodating us. It's a shame she was so rude. Perfect end of a tour through Joshua Tree National Park. They also have lots of vegan choices, like a quesedilla, burger, tacos and sandwiches. We loved the tacos with seitan. the homemade is nice flavored and sliced very thin. This with guacamole and corn, beans and tomatoes is really really yummy. Also try their homemade lemonade mixed with icetea. We tried this because they were out of lemonade and it was awesome! read more

My husband and I had lunch here after a morning of hiking. The more are several vegan options - I had trouble choosing between the Hell Burger, Hot as Hell Tacos, and Vegan Quesadilla. Settles in the tacos and they were delicious. They serve breakfast until 2 so my husband got some nice home fries. Plus the bill was only about $20 for the two of us. read more

The food is good, don't get me wrong; but expect to wait. I've never had a bad dish here (even though 2 tacos should definitely NOT be $10 - please). I HAVE, however, had to wait over an hour to be seated - because tourists. And also don't expect to get any to-go orders; apparently they don't do those when it's busy -- sooooo, never. Here's the thing: when you're a hipster restaurant that caters to tons of tourists every year and you KNOW when the busy season is, you'd think you would plan for that and be able to accommodate all types of orders in a timely fashion. People who order to-go generally understand that there will be a wait. That's pretty normal. But to just not do it is sort of lame. Who wants to fight crowds and hour-plus long wait times every time they want to eat your food? People will do it because most people hate coming up with back-up plans, but they won't like it. So, save your time and frustration between the months of Sept-May and try somewhere else. Go back when it's hot and miserable, because that's basically the only time you'll be able to eat there without having to scrunch in a corner with 50 other people. read more

Been to the "old crossroads" dozens of times on the way in and out of the park and heard they changed owners. I had dinner here last Friday night and thought it was mediocre. I had my go-to meal-- the seared ahi tuna. The current version is a nice, hearty portion, but doesn't compare to the flavorfulness of the old version. It's as if the current establishment gets the same ingredients, but doesn't quite know how to put them together. Other meals at my table looked fine, but no plate was left cleaned. In their defense, they have some major shoes to fill. I hate leaving negative reviews in a down economy. I just hope the current ownership figures out how to listen to its customer base. read more

The food was good but compared to the old crossroads owned by Bonnie, it just plain sucks. My husband, friends, and I used to drive in from L.A. and always eat at the old crossroads to fuel up before a day of climbing. It's not the same anymore. You have o wait to be seated, the portions are smaller, and the prices are larger. Like I said, the food was good but I haven't been back again since experiencing the newer version opened. OK I admit I haven't written too many reviews, but this place......WOW. Completely unexpected after a full day of hiking and running around Joshua Tree. We rolled up having absolutely no idea what to expect but starving! Everything was fresh. The salsa actually had some kick to it and the reuben was delicious. Everyone is seemingly in love with crossroads. The veggie options are great, but there sometimes is a little holier than thou attitude below the surface. Last time I was there with my wife for breakfast. I enjoyed my french toast, but my wife had the two egg breakfast and the not so great dregs of the breakfast potatoes that she received ruined the meal for her. I am giving four stars for my meal, the price ($13 for breakfast for two!), and minus one for the "I am vegan why aren't you?" attitude. Definitely a great YELP find and airbnb recommendation. The staff here are very friendly and although we had to wait (it wasn't for too long). Check out the farmers market outside to kill time. FOOD was delicious! I ordered the special of the day which was the French Dip sandwich for breakfast (YAY ME) and it did not disappoint. My friends had the corn beef hash and it was yummy as well. The food was amazing, friendly staff, but do not go in the bathrooms if you don't have to, they're soooooooo gross. No mirror, the soap is a weird powder, and it smells really bad. I got back to the table and warned my boyfriend, he used the men's room, he said it was worse than I had described the women's. I've been meaning to review this place for 2 months now. This review comes at a time my significant other and I finished biking in Joshua Tree in the freezing cold and were just starting to feel our faces again. Hoping to get a quick bite before leaving for Arizona, we had no idea that the stars were smiling at us when we stopped in at Crossroads. Being non-meat eaters, our menu options are usually fairly limited, especially out of SF. But look at you Crossroads, being all vegetarian friendly in the desert. 3 bean chili (vegan) + cornbread. Delicious. Road Side sssPlatter! bowl of mac&cheese. Delicious. Hot as Hell seitan taco. Delicious. Fish Taco. Delicious. The brownie and carrot cake we took on the ride with us to go--heaven. I came in a couple of times over the week with a group of four total for breakfast. We always had no problem finding a table and had our drink orders taken pretty immediately. It was always busy but never super packed which is nice. My boyfriend and our friends all really enjoyed their food and smoothies, and considering how big of foodies they are says something! I had a harder time finding items I liked being vegan and NOT a fan of spicy. Many items just had soy-rizo as the substitute and I pretty much hate that stuff. Both mornings I ended up stuck with tofu and grilled seitan with potatoes and while it was tasty stuff (albeit salty as frick) I definitely got visibly frustrated by the lack of options. There isn't even oatmeal which seemed super weird to me. Also, be extremely clear when ordering if you're vegan. Though I said a couple of times that I wanted my toast plain it still came out with butter, I was pretty bummed. read more

I have only eaten here once but I am anxious to go back. I live about a mile from here. When I went in, I ordered a seared salmon sandwich which was to come on a bun but they ran out of buns so I had it on squaw bread instead. It was still delicious! The salmon was fresh and cooked exactly as expected, just seared. It came with a salad and a side, I think, but the salmon was so good I didn't even touch the salad/side. They are friendly but considering there were only two tables full at the time I was there (including my table) they were a bit frazzled and slow. I think it could have been because they were out of a few things that day. I will go back, I will try some of the food recommended by other yelpers, and I expect I will like it. As close as I am, I should be walking there every night for dinner. read more
