Not a friendly staff. Being a local walking in asking to get takeout and willing to wait but being told no. Has become absolutely ridiculous I personally requested if I stand here in front of you can I take my food and was told no we have people that are priority that actually have chosen to stay here. You don't need to consider this place for your brunch in JTree. Before 11:30am, you can anticipate a long wait of at least an hour, which is understandable given the popular area and time of day. However, Crossroads is not equipped to handle the brunch rush in Joshua Tree, and the quality of the food + poor host customer service does not justify the wait. [After putting our name and number down, when we returned after 1 hour with no call, we discovered that our name had already been crossed off the list and they moved on to the next group. This error came from the rude host entering our number in their phone incorrectly and calling a wrong number. We were able to get a seat after 20 additional minutes of waiting. Our waitress was very sweet , super attentive and was the only one to apologize about the wait.] To the management of this establishment, I suggest investing in table reservation systems such as Yelp or Table to streamline the seating process, rather than relying someone manually calling every number, which can result in input errors and such slowwww morning service. There is significant room for improvement in this regard- an automated process will save you and the customers so much wasted time, labor and frustration during brunch. I wish the service was as good as the food. I had the burger, it was actually delicious and I highly rate it. The total wait from when we were seated, to when we got our food was almost an hour and 45-minutes(I watched an entire soccer match on my phone while waiting). I can't claim that the entire staff had bad attitudes, because we did have one bright waitress that checked in with us. Our waiter looked like he just didn't want to be there, he even rolled his eyes at me when I asked for a refill of coffee. The hosts at the front are extremely rude, and don't really know what they are doing either. They have a huge Veggie, Vegan menu for all my Vegetarians and Vegan folks. They are located in Yucca Valley CA just outside the Joshua Tree National Park. The wait wasn't long. We're served promptly with water and drink orders. The wait for food wasn't too long. The place was packed the day after Christmas. Hubby ordered Mike's mess. He liked it and the serving was huge. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with added tomato and avocado with a side of home fries. Daughter ordered kids pancake with fruit, which she liked. IMO, the coffee wasn't great. I'm a black coffee drinker, but had to add milk and sugar to make it palatable. If you're visiting Joshua Tree, this is a really solid place to come. You won't be disappointed. First, you MUST HAVE THE HOME FRIES. these potatoes are seasoned to perfection, cue *chef's kiss*. They are soft and a little crispy and just perfect. Hands down the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Heck, I'll have em lunch and dinner too. The pancakes are nice and fluffy! Very good and you won't be disappointed. My wife had the friend toast and said it was decently good. Nothing to phone home about but gets the job done. My friend had the breakfast burrito and he said it was in his top 5, so that's saying something. Two others got egg examples and said their food was good too. Very solid place to eat, located conveniently near the JT visitor center/road to the West Entrance and arguably the best place for lunch compared to other places in the area, especially after a long hike. Table ordered the tuna melt, turkey club, and burger; we all agreed it was a straightforward well done meal. Tuna salad had a little parsley in it and the rye bread was perfectly toasted and buttery. Nice place in the town of Joshua Tree not too far from the park. Located in a little strip right on the main road. There are a couple angled on-street parking spots, but it was really busy so we ended up parking out back. It's a dirt and rock lot with a huge bump at the entrance so use caution, but there were plenty of places to park there. We arrived just before noon on a Friday and the restaurant was bustling. We were seated quickly so no complaints there. They had clearly just gotten a delivery of fruits and veggies and I can vouch that all of our food was very fresh and delicious. I had the California chicken sandwich and the sliced chicken was very good. Several choices of sides and I selected the spinach salad. Highly recommend. Nice fruits and cheese really elevated the salad and it was one of the best side salads I've ever had. My mom had the BLT and gave it a solid two thumbs up. She opted for the side fries. We got in around 9:30, and asked the hostess if our party of 6 could wait outside since it was crowded inside. We waited around 15 minutes which was the time they gave us, and then went to check on our table. They had messed up the order of seating and completely forgot about us. It took another 15 or so minutes to be seated, when another waiter asked us if we wanted to sit outside to make it quicker. We said yes and got seated at around 10:15. There were tons of flies outside, consistently buzzing around us the entire time. But I guess you could even say the flies were more attentive than the waiters here. We waited even longer to get our orders taken, even though the waiter took our menus away, so he must've known we had looked at what we wanted...and we still waited another 10 minutes. By this time we just decided to leave, and on our way out we saw our waiter eating at the bar. Ridiculous. Never coming here again, because the service here is absolutely awful. read more

I had lunch here on a Wednesday while visiting the area. The place was packed and had a lively and loud atmosphere. We both got burgers and they were great. They tasted like home cooking -and I mean that in the best possible way: hand formed, a little char on the outside and pink in the middle, all the usual toppings. Side fries and drinks were average diner fare. The staff is cool in both definitions. I don't need babying at a restaurant, but I also didn't think they were rude or inattentive. The menu had both breakfast (eggs, pancakes, etc.) and lunch options (salads, soups, burgers, etc). I opted for the homemade corned beef hash with cornbread, which was excellent (and honestly better than many of the corned beef hashes I've had in much fancier establishments in New York). Bf had a salad with some sort of vegan tacos, which were also very good. Portions here are generous so we had a lot of food leftover that we took home. Usually I'm not a stickler for service but after ordering, we waited ~25 minutes for our food and I asked our waitress to check on our food, only to receive attitude & a rude/ quick "it's coming". The chicken quesadilla was amazing, but slightly overpriced at $14. The chicken cilantro soup was great as well, but slightly under seasoned.
