Quinoa Buddha Bowl with grilled tofu
    Holly H.

Got here late so missed out on breakfast (think it end around ~1:30) and had to wait around a half an hour for a table by the door. Classic diner food options and was happy to see a healthier non salad option in the quinoa Buddha bowl. The tofu portion was generous for the total bowl price (~$13 vs ~10 without tofu). My main complaint was the wait for the food actually felt pretty long for a room temp buddha bowl and a sandwich with a small cup of soup.

    Go time! Let's eat

Writing this review for Autumn! She was so helpful kind and fast! It was my first time visiting in a long time, but will be back to try more items!! The chicken quesadilla was delicious and my chicken soup was hot and hearty. Thank you for acknowledging me and also being so efficient and supportive love it! Definitely recommend this place, great location and variety in breakfast. See y'all soon!

It was highly recommended to us to stop by Crossroads Cafe while in the JT area, and our experience was just not a good one. We ordered their supposedly popular 'Polenta & Eggs', which comes with 2 eggs, any style, with a side of grilled herbed-polenta, topped with some feta cheese; there was a cup of ranchero sauce on the side. We requested the egg to be over medium, which was actually fried hard; the polenta had absolutely no flavor, and the so-called 'ranchero' sauce was watery and super thin. The meal was also served with a side of black beans and a side of cabbage slaw; we had requested there to be no cilantro, but, of course, the place totally ignored that and there was a huge mound on top of the beans. The sour cream, which was stated in the description to be offered, was non-existent. The cabbage slaw was definitely vinegar-based, but it had a putrid, off-putting odor to it; this was inedible. Staff could have been more friendly and more welcoming; not sure why it's so hard to be dressed in a smile? Super disappointing experience, and we felt that it was such a waste of a trip to stop on by. +inedible food +doesn't adhere to customization requests +unfriendly staff +parking available in lot

We went here during a recent vacation and left very disappointed. With the exception of the corn bread, which I thought was quite good, the food was largely mediocre. My youngest daughter ordered Mac and cheese, which she said didn't taste like Mac and cheese (it tasted like only garlic and breadcrumbs). My wife got the Huevos Rancheros, which was just weak salsa over soggy (untoasted/unfried) tortillas, with unseasoned beans and eggs. The rest of my family was equally unimpressed.

Brunch with the girls post JT trip and this cafe was the spot! Lol. We waited 20 minutes for our party of 5 - which was great since there were some fun shops across the street. This cafe is so busy and crowded but worth the food. We got a variety of things for brunch. The omelettes are huge, the eggs benedict was amazing, and the breakfast burrito was good. Their bfast potatoes are seasoned so well. We all definitely took some to go. They are known for their banana bread which they serve with butter on the side, I highly recommend. Delicious! Good food. Amazing service. Add this pit stop for brunch when in the area.

The ratings don't do justice. This Café opens pretty early in the morning, I came to the restaurant for early breakfast around 7:30-8am and it was the best decision we've ever made. I was craving for a good omelette and the omelette I ordered was so good. It was very filling. I added a side of fruit bowl and banana bread (PLEASE TRY THE BANANA BREAD) and they were both pretty good size and the taste was excellent. Will definitely come back when I visit Joshua tree again. Servers were very nice and the inside was very cozy, it was warm as the weather was pretty chilly outside in the morning. Overall, would highly recommend this place!

Crossroads cafe offers one of my favorite perks: free taxidermy to ogle at while you chow down. For my money, the main attraction here is the stuffed bobcat on the wall. At some point in time, someone witnessed this large, stinky cat carcass & thought it was still fresh enough to be reincarnated as a dead action figure version of its former self. Then someone at Crossroads purchased or asked to own this stuffed animal outright. The wonders never cease. I tried the breakfast burrito here. Not too bad. Eggs were sufficiently cooked, and all that jazzercise. I did enjoy the free side of beans. While I was eating, I did notice that this place can get a tad packed or stuffed with people; not unlike the taxidermy bobcat watching over all diners at The Crossroads with its cool, glass eye.

Mac & Cheese, Veggie Chili, Seitan burger. So delicious.

I see some of the 1-star reviews, and I don't want to invalidate anyone else's experience, but we really enjoyed our experience here. The service isn't like, overt performative friendly (like what we're used to in LA) - more like a quiet kindness that felt fitting to the Joshua Tree area. They don't serve breakfast for dinner, even though it's on the menu, so I, who wanted one of the breakfast scrambles, had to pivot and ended up getting the veggie chili with salad and mac 'n cheese. The veggie chili is so bomb. Just the right amount of heat for us, and the mac 'n cheese was fresh and super comforting. My partner got the seitan burger with the chili cheese fries, and man did those fries hit the spot.

The service in the little caffe was good and fast, the lady was more than welcoming and attended to us right away. The food was decent, normal for breakfast but the coffee was delicious we even went back the day after for coffee. Overall the place is good to have some decent breakfast.

Came in on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was completely empty, which was actually a plus since it made for a calm and quiet lunch. I had two mimosas and they were really good nice balance, not watered down. The food was filling, tasty, and definitely hit the spot. The only downside was the flies inside the restaurant. While eating, we had to constantly shoo them away, which made the experience a little distracting. If they fix that issue, this spot would be a solid go-to for a relaxed meal.

The food was really good!! The water had that weird tap water taste tho. The cornbread with my meal was surprisingly not dry. But had to wait an hour for a table, but at least the service was quick.

Decent place to get some food but long wait times to get seated + longer wait to get your food. We ordered an omelette and steak tacos - Omelette was good but the steak for the tacos had no seasoning and overall bland.

Great service and attentive staff. Went for lunch. Food was OK, bit small but overpriced. Cooks showed some talent and enthusiasm for their cooking. Next time I will try their breakfasts.

No! They have table service May 2022

Do they offer any gluten free options?

Yes they do, just precise with them when ordering

It's a super small place with no outdoor seating. I would suggest the Two Sisters Cafe nearby. Has outdoor seating and seemed pet friendly.

ANYWAY. We have been here a couple of times - will usually stop by here when we're in Joshua Tree. On Saturdays, there is a Farmer's Market in the parking lot, so it gets pretty crowded. This last time we went, I got an iced strawberry matcha, and my partner got the chai iced tea. Both with almond milk. They still charge a surplus for non-dairy, which feels so 2022. But anyway. The drinks were delicious. We also got an almond croissant, which doesn't look like much, but it was AMAZING. And then the quiches. Oh, the quiches. I had such high hopes for these, especially since we were primed with refreshing drinks and a tasty pastry. These quiches are muffin-sized, perfect for a light meal or a heavier snack, and they look super cute. They will heat them up for you. When we went, they had bacon cheddar and spinach feta. We got one of each. My friends, these were so disappointing. First, no flavor. We asked for ketchup or hot sauce to give it a bit of acid, because it was basically egg all the way through. Solid wall of egg that tasted like the powdered egg you get at one of those corporate conference catered breakfasts. I had one tiny sliver of bacon in mine, and my partner was playing hide and seek with the spinach, and the spinach was winning. The crust itself was rubbery and chewy, not flaky like I would expect a quiche to be. I mean, it was palatable and not super expensive. I'm just not sure if you're selling food, you want it to just be "palatable". Last time, we got a savory veggie pie, and that was pretty good, so they DO have good savory foods. I think the quiches were just a huge miss this time. Bathroom is clean and single-stalled. Parking is easy in the lot, and on Farmer's Market days, I mean, c'mon, it's Joshua Tree, it's not like there isn't space on the streets too.

We got the butter lettuce salad (delicious), the socarrat (lots of peas and pea sprouts - this was AMAZING, and great the next day cold!), their version of bruschetta on their crispy thin bread - the bread was absolutely amazing.
