    Spicy rigatoni
    Megan L.

I've been here several times and it was one of my favorite vegan restaurants but after our last visit we won't be back. Our server was nice at first but throughout our time there she became increasingly condescending and rude. We started with the calamari, squash blossoms, and watermelon salad. The calamari was good. The watermelon salad was delicious but could have used double the feta and pistachios. The squash blossoms were so small and dry. The "cheese" inside was hard and tasted sour. We used to get them all the time and the recipe is definitely different. One in our group ordered a beer when we sat down at didn't come until midway through the appetizers. When we asked our server for it, she just said it was coming. For our entrees we got the meatball pizza, spicy rigatoni with chicken Parmesan, eggplant short rib, and bolognese. The meatball pizza was fine but not good enough to want to finish. The two pastas were the best but not that much flavor. The eggplant short rib was inedible. They basically just peel an eggplant and slap a giant slab on a bowl of mashed potatoes. It was so dense and chewy and slimy. We couldn't swallow it. We also ordered the truffle potatoes at the start of our meal and they didn't come out until we were finished with our entrees. When I informed our server, she simply gave me attitude and said to wait because they take longer to cook. At that point we didn't bother bringing up the eggplant dish because we knew we'd be dismissed again. We were very disappointed in the quality of food and the service. We'll be dropping this place from our roster of good LA spots.

Across from the photo frenzy at the Pink Wall, Crossroads Kitchen offers an amazing selection of plant-based pastas and small plates. The plush wood and leather booths and classic rock riffs create a soothing space. Eggplant Short Rib: The rectangular slab of eggplant is on the edge of firm and soft. The whipped potatoes are nice and creamy. The Bordelaise sauce is rich and savory from the red wine, shallots, herbs, and stock. Shimeji and cremini mushrooms add jolts of earthy flavor to the wonderful sauce. Parking: Go with the metered street parking. Most of the sidewalks in the neighborhood do not allow parking after 8 pm.

It's not that Jamie W and I are religious vegans. It's just that at a certain point in a WeHo vacation, we start to feel guilty about our inevitable gluttony and proved that fear true by gorging at calorific spots like NORMS and Max & Helen's in the days prior. I saw mention of this vegan Mediterranean restaurant after I failed to secure a reservation at Pura Vita, a nearby vegan Italian spot we liked on a previous vacation (review: https://yelp.to/FHUmsvRN-m). It was a further walk from our hotel, but we had no trouble securing a table for two here. The menu looked mostly Italian, so we were quite pleased with the choices. Jamie ordered the $25 Spaghetti Carbonara, a fresh tasting, gluten-free rendition with bits of vegan gianciale, green peas and an impressive whole "egg" yolk on top (Photo 8). I must've been in a "meatier" mood and went with the $26 Tagliatelle Bolognese, another gluten-free delight. The sauce had a savory umami flavor anchored by chopped mushrooms, carrot, and onion (Photo 9). The pasta had a surprising al dente texture. We shared the salty-savory $14 Grilled Artichokes with olives, capers, roasted peppers, lemon, and mint (Photo 10). Although portions were just right, we still found room for the generous $12 Brownie Sundae with vanilla ice cream, fudge sauce, coconut whip, and brandied cherries (Photo 7). What a find. Let it be (nonalcoholic)

I've been wanting to try Crossroads Kitchen for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally made it. While the ambiance and décor evoke the warmth of an old-school steakhouse or classic Italian restaurant, the food is anything but traditional. It offers a fresh, modern take on vegan Italian cuisine. Drinks & Appetizers We started with two cocktails: the Strawberry Girl (alcoholic) and the Let It Be (non-alcoholic). Both were excellent. For appetizers, we ordered the Moroccan Cigars, served with a light, tangy yogurt-style dipping sauce with just the right amount of heat. The cigars themselves were delicate, filled with plant-based meat, and lightly fried. Think of an elevated, artisanal taquito. A perfect lead-in to the main course. Entrées We ordered two dishes: the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka with the chicken Parmesan add-on, and the Spicy Meatball Pizza. Pro tip: absolutely add the chicken Parmesan to the rigatoni. The vodka sauce was bold and spicy without overpowering the dish, and the chicken Parm was beautifully cooked with excellent texture, a natural and well-balanced pairing. The pizza was exceptional. True to its name, there was a meatball in nearly every bite. It's topped with ricotta and dusted with parmesan, and we added red chili flakes for an extra kick. The crust is very thin and artisanal, and every component, the marinara, meatballs, sausage, ricotta, and parmesan, worked in perfect harmony. The dough alone is worth finishing every last piece. Dessert We ended with the Brownie Sundae, which was the one minor letdown of the evening. The ice cream appeared to have been pre-scooped, as it was quite firm with visible ice crystals, not ideal. The brownie itself, however, was absolutely delicious, though the portion felt a bit small relative to the dish as a whole. Overall, the sundae was just okay. I'd likely skip it next time and explore other dessert options. Service & Atmosphere The service was fantastic, and the overall ambiance was warm and inviting. The pacing of the meal was particularly impressive. Drinks, appetizers, entrées, and dessert all arrived at just the right tempo. Nothing felt rushed, and nothing lingered too long. Parking There is no dedicated parking for the restaurant. Crossroads is located on Melrose Avenue, a busy shopping district with heavy foot traffic and limited street parking. That said, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and found street parking without much trouble. If spots near the restaurant are taken, driving a few blocks into the surrounding neighborhood usually turns up more options, just be prepared for a short walk. Plan your arrival time accordingly to avoid any parking stress. Overall, Crossroads Kitchen delivered on every front. Creative food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend, with the rigatoni and pizza as must-orders.

Pretty nice ambiance. It takes time for food to come out but totally worth the wait. Best lentil protein I've ever had! Also the stuffed zucchini blossoms are da

39$ for this is outrageous . Go to the grocery store (any) and do it yourself before you pay for this !!!

Disappoinnnnnntted!!! Pro-tip: if you must order the spicy rigatoni , order it without the chicken Parmesan !!!! This place is such a tourist trap; it's across from the 'pink wall,' so it's no surprise how much they can charge for .... Anything really. For their spicy vodka rigatoni with chicken Parmesan came out to an outrageous almost 40$ . Bare bones. No sides and gasp* they wanted morr compensation for Parmesan cheese (which is not a side but a condiment practically ) 1) the chicken Parmesan tasted weird. Yes, it's 'imitation' meat, but even for vegan sub meat it didnt even come close to other restaurants attempt to capture the essence and taste of meat without actually having it. I tasted onlt really the breading. The chicken almost tasted like a veggie butter spread . Definitely not worth the extra 10$ upcharge. The spicy rigatoni was just okay. To their credit , the noodle tastes homemade from scratch, and the gravy had an okay taste, but I ordered takeout and the dish was lukewarm .... If it's made fresh steam should be coming out of it still!!! Also the noodles were slightly over cooked .... The portion size for a 28$ dish is quite small. As evidenced by their unwillingness to offer Parmesan condiments for free reveals one of the most stingy restaurants ive ever encountered . They will nickel and dime you for anything and everything to increase the meal ticket . There are better vegan restaurants out there for a far more fair price. I probably won't be going back as I view their prices to be completely unjustifiable.

First time at this eatery. Crossroads Kitchen is a popular, upscale vegan restaurant in Los Angeles known for its plant-based Italian-American cuisine, offering dishes like pasta, pizza, and "chicken" and waffles that appeal to both vegans and non-vegans. It features a full bar, patio dining, and is praised for its creative, flavorful food, though some reviews mention inconsistent We were seated at a long table since there were so many of us. The staff was very accommodating. First time eating vegan food. Wasn't quite for me, but it was a wonderful dinning experience.

I'd heard about this spot for years and was excited to finally check it out last night. Overall I really enjoyed my food -- the eggplant short rib was a definite standout that was super unique and flavorful. I also really liked the cauliflower torte and the apple martini. The pasta was tasty, a bit too spicy for both my friend and me. My least favorite part of the meal was the dessert -- we got the chocolate cake, which was sadly a bit on the drier side (though we did appreciate the birthday candles since we were both celebrating our birthdays!). Service was a bit hit or miss. My friend asked for lemon for her water, which was brought promptly. 5 minutes later, the busboy came back to tell us that would be a $2 charge, after it was already in my friend's water glass. I have never heard of a restaurant charging for lemon slices in your water and we were pretty taken aback by that to be honest. The waitress said she'd remove that charge from the bill since we weren't told about it upfront, but really? That shouldn't be a charge at all. Our waitress was very nice, but fairly absent after we received our dishes. She never came to check on us, refill water, see if we needed more drinks, etc. We actually had to flag another waitress down to find ours when it was time for us to get the check (after sitting with cleaned off plates on the table for at least 25 minutes). The space is pretty from what I could tell. We were seated in a side section that the hostess said is usually not open, so it did feel like a bit of an afterthought. But I could tell that the main space is nice. If I could give 2.5 stars, I would -- but that's not an option, so it's a 2 for me. I'm glad I finally came here, but don't think I would need to return.

Came to enjoy a Mother's Day dinner after seeing a show at Pantages. My husband and I were both thrilled with the warm cozy feel of the restaurant. Staff were so friendly and kind. And the food was delicious!! Shared the zucchini blossoms and they were delicious. My husband enjoyed the piccata and we shared the yummy truffle potatoes. I've been wanting to try vegan scallops made with trumpet mushrooms and these did not let me down - the linguine and scallops were amazingly delicious - would definitely have again! The strawberry cheesecake was a great way to finish the meal - banana pudding was ok. Overall, would highly recommend and hope to return for more!

    Calamari fritti
    Danny C.

Elevated fine-dining with an all-vegan menu. Great place for a date or special occasion. If you've been to Pura Vita, you can expect a similar experience. CALAMARI FRITTI - As someone who typically enjoys deep-fried, battered food, the fried calamari wasn't very impressive. It was oily and borderline soggy. It wasn't bad by any means, but it just didn't embody the long-standing reputation of quality food that Crossroads has always carried in the LA vegan circle. TRUFFLE MUSHROOM BIANCA - Again, it just didn't have the wow factor. It was decent, but just not great. In summary, fine-dining ambiance and spectacular service accompanied by mediocre food.

This is really a top notch vegan spot! They know how to make amazing food, get it out to the customer fast and have great service. The price tag is a bit on the pricey side but feels worth it! The rigatoni was a standout for the evening! It was perfectly seasoned and spicy with the chicken still having that deliciously addictive crunch. The mushroom arancini were also delicious! Our waitress was very nice and brought out everything super fast. The restaurant is really beautiful with a great bar and nice lighting. The tortellini was probable my least favorite of the night as it was a Bit too Al dente and the broth was not very warm. It did come out with some flare as they light the rosemary on fire before pouring the soup over the pasta. The banana pudding was ok, however I think they could spruce up their dessert menu as I don't think I've ever had one that was to die for.

Do they have Sunday brunch like their Las Vegas location?

They have a Sunday brunch but it's not buffet style as it is in Las Vegas.

Where is the closest parking structure?

They have valet parking available or ample street parking!

    Is this place kid-friendly?

    I wouldn't call it kid-friendly. But then again it's not kid-unfriendly either. It's a…

How dressy do we need to be for dinner? We're coming from a full day of running around and I'd rather not deal with changing first... Could we get away with athleisure or…

You don't need to be dressy. I've been in athleisure plenty of times. People dress in what's comfortable for them.

    Are there any allium-free options?

Are all of the "cheeses" and dairy options here made from nuts?

Yes! All their cheeses are non-dairy and delish!!!! I highly recommend their zucchini blossoms but their Charcuterie appetizer with cheese is also delicious.

Does anyone know whose chicken they use for the chicken and waffles? My daughter loves it.

    It's house made

How do I know what's vegan?

The whole restaurant menu is vegan.

Do they have a Happy Hour? In the past, reviewers mention HH and a late night HH.

no happy hour as far as i know

Do they still have valet parking? Am trying to determine how much time I should allow for parking.

    Yes

    Are dogs allowed?

I just called and they are allowed only for outdoor seating :)

How is the outdoor seating? Is it in the parking lot or how is it set up? Is there inside seating?

The outdoor seating is set up on the side walk. One thing I raved about the crossroads is their romantic ambience so you are definitely NOT getting that anymore. But the food is still just as great :)

Are there heaters for outdoor dining?

    Yes

Is it all vegan or is the fried chicken and meatballs real meat?

The entire restaurant is Vegan. I have taken meat eaters There and they say the chicken and waffles are the best they have had 🙏🏽 the meatballs are vegan and tasty also.

    What time does brunch end?

    2 pm

What is the base of their Alfredo sauce? (Nut purée/milk?)

    Almond cream

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

They do have mimosas however, they are not bottomless.

Do they have happy hour on weekends too at night?

I don't think they have happy hour. I could be wrong though. The late night bar menu is every night starting at 10pm.

I see the attire is "dressy," and I saw one review that says to dress up if you're going in the evening. I'm looking to go to a brunch on Sunday, what would be the dress "code" or suggestion? Thanks.

No, casual is fine. But TBH, their brunch is not the best in my opinion. The portions are tiny and we left still feeling hungry.

Do you have gluten free options?

    Yes they do!

It's best to make a reservation in advance if you plan to dine here as they are almost always fully at capacity. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. If the weather is not too hot, I recommend sitting outside. Our mistake was choosing the indoors because it gets awfully loud to the point where you can't even hear the server(s) or your own party speak. Truth be told that's the major factor in the minus 1 star as it negatively affected our overall dining experience. 1. Farm Cheese Spread (5/5) The farm cheese was super light and airy. It's seasoned with sumac/fig leaf za'atar, rose petal (mostly for decor than taste) and fresh rosemary. It's served with 2 slices of crispy edged, doughy centered, black sesame bread that's toasted to perfection. 2. Baba Ghanoush (5/5) This is a dip dish made of smoked eggplant, Jimmy Nardello peppers (adds sweetness and smoky flavor), fennel escabeche, dill and olive oil. It's served with sites of fried pita bread. The eggplant was perfectly savory from the grilled onions and non-spicy, smoky flavor of the peppers. The Pita bread is like a fried beignet donut in terms of flavor. Another enjoyable appetizer to share. 3. Oyster Mushroom Kebab (5/5) Amazing smokey, well-charred and juicy mushroom with a nice price tag attached to it, but still worth to enjoy. It's served with avocado-lovage puree and sumac, which paired well with the mushroom flavor. 4. Grilled Octopus (5/5): The octopus tentacles were cooked to perfection - soft & melts in your mouth. It's almost like eating a very soft rice cake with a hint of seafood flavor note. It's served with sides of skordalia potato puree, brocooli, lamb xo sauce and coated in dill to give it a slightly spicy and savory profile. 5. Slow-Roasted Lamb Neck Shawarma (4.5/5) Super tender lamb meat that's also very fatty. It's served with a side of basil-cilantro like sauce, pickled vegetables and tahini sauce which was super creamy and helped to cut the gaminess of the lamb. The dish also comes with a full size laffa bread, which was fresh (made in-house; you can literally see them making it in the background) and pillowy-soft to wrap the lamb meat in. 6. Cherry Sumac & Ricotta cheese pastry (4/5) We ended with a crispy Cherry jam tart. The puff pastry was flaky puff while the cherry jam was tart and sweet. It paired well with their ricotta cheese, which was light and airy and sprinkled with sumac. It also comes with a scoop of Pistachio ice cream that's subtly nutty and floral but was a bit too sweet for our liking. Overall, the food here was good, but the dining environment was too loud for our liking. This place is often compared to Bestia, which we prefer. Fun fact - Bavel and Bestia are owned by the same owners.

Our waiter told us that they can accommodate larger groups which is great. I recently ate food at Saffy's and I didn't enjoy it one bit. The servings there are too small, too pretentious and too overpriced. Open Sesame is the exact opposite and that's why it rules. A wonderful experience in Beverly Boulevard.

There are so many different kebabs to choose from, and I've yet to have one that wasn't delicious. My personal favorites are the steak and the chicken--both are incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. One thing you absolutely cannot skip is the edamame hummus. I had never even heard of edamame hummus before coming here, and now I can't believe I went so long without trying it. It was smooth, fresh, and full of flavor while putting such a unique twist on traditional hummus. It's one of those dishes that completely changes your expectations and has you thinking about it long after you've left the restaurant. On top of the amazing food, the service was outstanding. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcome, and the atmosphere was warm, relaxing, and perfect whether you're grabbing a casual lunch or having dinner with friends or family. The menu is packed with so many dishes that I still want to try, which just gives me another reason to keep coming back. Panini Kabob Grill continues to deliver an incredible experience, and I can't recommend it enough.
