I've been shopping here for the past 5 years, and I love it! I always find decent priced used clothes here. Sometimes Ii find shirts/dresses that look brand new for like $15. I like the weho location better, since it's larger, but this one is closer and the staff is nicer. I just wish that they played better music. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE- This is the first time I've ever written a review on Yelp, and it took a truly awful experience at Crossroads Trading Co. in Santa Monica to do so. My girlfriend and I took in about 40-50 pieces combined. I myself brought a couple of pairs of 7 jeans and a bunch of button downs that I'd bought from Banana Republic 2-3 years ago for around $80-100 a piece. They only selected about 5 items alltogether! The woman who "helped us" was rude, and uninformative. She would not let us know how much she wanted to pay us per piece, but insisted that it was store policy to only give us a total at the end. I am in sales and she used what we call an "assumptive close,' which is just bad business. As she looked thru our clothes, she didn't tell us how much she would give us per item, but instead tagged the clothes, put a security sensor on, and threw them into a bin. When she offered us $24 for the 5 items she selected, we turned her down in favor of giving them to Goodwill for free. We were then handed all of our previously neatly folded items in a ball of wrinkles, and proceeded to exit the store behind another man who left with 5 out of the 5 boxes he'd brought in. DO NOT GO TO CROSSROADS. GIVE YOUR CLOTHES TO GOODWILL AND CLAIM A TAX DEDUCTION!!!! read more

This review is from a seller's experience. The staff was very nice but not very knowable about the labels that brought in to sell. This has happened before when I brought in labels like (Marc Jacobs, Nicole Miller, Juicy and BCBG) all in great condition. I was informed that these pieces wouldn't sell. I was confused, because the clothes I brought in were great basic pieces that would work year-round. The girl at the counter was very sweet and informed me that they were looking for fall items. I'm sure she had no idea that she passed on a vintage Iceberg denim jacket (a fall item). That being said, there are so many consignment shops on Ventura Blvd. that will happily accept these pieces. read more

I went here to sell some items today. They are rather picky--but understandably. There was this lady in front of me with three huge garbage bags and the store didn't want any of it. I felt kind of bad for her because she had to wait a really long time. Anyways, they took two pairs of knee high boots, a large bag, and a skirt and gave me the option of either $38 in-store or $26 in cash. I took the cash. I am trying to get rid of stuff. The rest of my stuff went to good will. The actual clothing in the store I didn't have an interest in, just seemed young and costumey. C'mon a golden trench coat?? Who wears that stuff?? Anyways, its a fun store, I don't really care about service because its not a place where I expect a personal shopper. Efficiency is just fine. read more

I love this Crossroads location. The staff has always been friendly and super helpful, the store is clean and organized, and if I check the site for what they're buying back, I always get a good amount of store credit bringing back stuff that just didn't end up being very "me". Parking can be a bit of a pain, depending on how much stuff you're lugging with you. If you're selling, I recommend spending that time after you sign in to browse. They'll call your name when you're up. When I got called, I hefted my bag onto the counter and the salesgirl said, "Oh, feel free to continue shopping". Yes. Yes I will. There's something about worn-in clothes I like more than totally new items. Is it because someone already chose them? Because someone already had faith in them? I don't know. But I like it. I was visiting from out of town and totally could have spent all day here! Great selection of clothes and prices are fair. Got a brand new handbag for $26, and they also have some select items that are half off throughout the store. Lots of high end brands Kate spade, Jimmy choo, Michael Kors, Christian louboutin etc. Definitely worth stopping in! read more

TIP: If you are selling clothes here, go on a weekday morning or afternoon for much shorter wait times. The Studio City location's staff is great. A store credit card I had received for selling clothes last year ended up having a $0 value when I tried to use it at the Melrose location. It was supposed to have about $40. This location is right off of Ventura Blvd so it's super easy to find. They are pretty good about taking things you bring there to sell or trade in. I have gotten some of my cutest items from this location. It's a big location with lots of stuff in there so you'll be sure to find stuff!! You can drop your stuff off so you don't have to wait while they look through it. Most of the locations have this policy so it makes it easier to try to sell your stuff. read more

I love this location! They always buy most of what being to sell and they do have a wide and large selection of items. One of my favorite employees (a guy) has recently taken a job at wasteland down the street ( this is why I only gave four stars) he was the best! Helpful, friendly and stylish himself. The girls are pleasant and pretty fast buying, so the line moves quickly. This is not my favorite store though (the one in Pasadena is better) but they are always full of new items! They're pretty picky with clothing items claimed they don't do fast fashion brands such as H&M, target, etc. their entire inventory for the most part is princess Polly and brandy Melville which is just as fast fashion as it gets. I brought in one big bag of clothing they only took three times and gave me 24$ store credit or 14$ in cash. When walking around I picked out a cute bustier top (25.50$) and my friend brought over a bodysuit that she thought it was cute we checked it out only to find a huge discharge stain right on the crotch area of it... quickly took it to someone at the fitting room stand. When waiting in line we decided to check out the bustier top I was already planning on purchasing only to find a pretty decent hole in the one of the cups which would expose my left boob. Two stars because the inventory was alright, and the staff was sweet, but you might want to look even harder for a good clothing item that doesn't have holes or discharge on them. read more

This review does not reflect on the employees they were all very sweet. It's just the general institution of CrossRoads. Today was the last time I'm ever going to sell at a crossroads. And I've been doing this for 15 years. I got there an hour after they opened on a weekday. They were already 20 people signed up in front of me. I circled the block a few times and got very lucky with parking, but there really is almost never any parking in front of any cross roads ever. Then you have to schlep your bags and boxes into the store. Today the wait was over three hours. The street parking here only allows you to park for two hours. Furthermore they don't have a restroom for customers. I had to walk a quarter-mile away to a grocery store. There are no chairs to sit in. They only took one item out of my two bags, and I understand considering how many people we're selling with so much stuff. But the price they gave me even in trade for the one pair of shoes was a 10th of the retail price of the shoes and the shoes were brand new in box. I got $15 on a pair of $150 brand new boots. It doesn't make any sense to do this unless your time is worth less than five dollars an hour, there's really no point in spending your time trying to sell here. Between the parking, lack of places to go, lack of seating, lack of restrooms, it's just an overall miserable experience for a bad financial deal in the first place. You'd be better off just working and donating your clothes, or trying to sell individual items or a lot of items online. read more

Anyway I didn't want to wait in line so The staff offered me that I can do a 24 hours drop off service. If they don't take the things they would donate it. So I decided do also choose the donation service as well. I had a few scarves so I already knew that I won't get anything back for it. I came back the next day and they told me that they didn't taken anything. And they didn't even take my brandnew shoes and just donated it. For Sellers: WasteMyTime2017. I came to this crossroads with a bag full of good clothes. Some name brand items and all of the items were season appropriate. None were taken. Now, this was not the reason I gave this place a bad rating. The people that work there were not only unprofessional, but inappropriate. Only conversations with one another while people were waiting on them. Completely ignoring each person coming in to sell their items and pretending to look at clothes they brought to sell. One employee bad mouthed another seller who had just left to the next seller, which is just unacceptable. This was the girls 'hang out spot' not workplace. Extremely disappointed. I've been shopping at crossroads for years in the Bay Area and now I've finally tried a location in So Cal since moving here. Crossroads is always a hit and miss. They have a lot of different pieces and you have to spend time combing racks to find something you like, which is part of the fun. On my recent trip to the Studio City location I found a Goorin Bros women's straw hat in impeccable condition. And the pricing was unbelievable, $13.50!!! I would have paid more but don't tell anyone. I was impressed with this purchase and the pricing. This hat goes for $50+ new.... Total steal. Will be back! read more

The transphobia I experienced at this location dissuaded me from ever going to another crossroads again. Im assigned male at birth and often dress in women's clothes, and a few months ago I brought in a big bag of clothes to sell. The buyer, whose name is Isabella, had been into alot of my offerings and at one point asks "can I ask you a question" and I say yes and she goes "where did you get these clothes". I told her they were mine and asked her why she asked that. Then she says "well there's a lot of women's clothes" and immediately I go off on her for assuming they couldn't possibly be mine and for insinuating my reasons for having them were nefarious. Realizing how violent her words were, she backtracks and says she asked because they were in such good condition and that they do private buys with stylists. I continue to go off on her when two other salespeople come to her defense, realizing some damage control was necessary. I immediately took my clothes back and stormed out, shocked that a situation so offensive arose from selling clothes. This is not a safe space for queer people and should be avoided. read more

This store isn't bad in that you can actually get money for your stuff if it's in decent condition. They don't accept any jeans with rips on the bottom; that I know. As long as the clothes are in wearable condition, not faded, and in season (they only accept seasonal items, and they will tell you the criteria!), you should be able to get some money for it. I love this store ! The manager Kim is a gem !! She has been with the company 10 years . it is apparent that she loves her job. She is personable, she doesn't "pretend" to make conversation - she is very easy to speak with. Retail in general is difficult so I cannot even imagine the difficulty in working with people who are selling their own clothes AND others buying mostly pre-owned clothes. Kim & her team of ladies (I say that as I haven't recently seen a male sales associate but know there are some ) always make my selling experience a pleasure. !!! read more

Like most second-hand/thrift stores, you have to do a lot of digging for the deals. I scored a pair of jeans for $18 and another for $25 (I really liked this pair). The best part, I didn't need to go hem them! It's really difficult to find jeans to fit a short person like me. Also they have this donation thing where you can skip out on the plastic bag and donate a 5 cent token to one of their charities. Looks like a lot of the chain thrift stores are doing it. I don't recommend selling here because I feel like it's a total rip off. On yelp and their website it says they take vintage. But when I went in, the first thing they said was "We don't take vintage. At all." (Pssst Buffalo Exchange bought all my vintage so you might wanna try there!) They often say they don't take brands like H&M and Forever21 because they're cheap as it is so they can't make money off them. I can totally understand that. But the problem is I often see a lot of Forever21 and target brands in their stock! So I feel like if you have a friend who works there it doesn't matter what you have, they'll buy it from you. I gave it 3 stars because there have been a few times where I went there to shop and found some gems. I recommend checking it out if you're in the area, but prepare to be disappointed if you're trying to sell there. You'll probably see racks full of clothing they told you they wouldn't take when you tried to sell it to them. read more

Literally the worst! I lugged in bags of stuff only to have them select 3 pairs of perfect condition Versace, Yves Saint Laurent and Prada sunglasses which they gave me $64.50 for!!! A total waste of time and I wish I'd told them to shove it. The crap they pick is so fuggly it's unbelievable to me. They even snubbed their noses at both a Fendi and Valentino bag that I brought in. I normally don't like to write bad reviews, but this place deserves one. I dropped off a huge bag of clothes, some which still had tags on it, and came to cash out two days later only to find out they didn't take any of my clothes. I asked the sales associate Julianna why they didn't take anything and she couldn't give me a response as to why. I had ask them to donate any of the items they didn't want, so I was okay with it all of it entirely being a donation, however, I feel like they didn't even go through my stuff . The sales associate told me it was due to the condition of my clothes and that it was all out of style. My clothes was practically new, and were almost all purchased from sample sales within the last year . I was just completely turned off by Julianna's demeaning demeanor. I asked her if I could get a receipt showing I made a donation for tax purposes, and asked her where they donate the clothes to, and she looked at me like I was bothering her with my questions, and just had no response for me. Thankfully she had a colleague standing a few feet away from her who then informed her of what I was looking for. I thanked her as I was leaving, and she didn't care to acknowledge me . I went here with a girlfriend of mine who has been to a different Crossroads Trading co.- This was both our first time going to this location. There is a limited amount of parking so you might have to walk a block or two. We didn't mind because we got to enjoy the location itself and check out the unique houses and shops near by. The place had a lot of selection in terms of clothing, it was very neat and well kept. The store displays the "high end " things around and behind the counter. They have a decent selection of shoes, scarfs, hats, bets- but not so much on Jewelry. My friend got some great deals with Brands like Juicy couture that was half of the price tag! The only negative thing about this store is the dressing rooms! It felt like being in an underground tunnel, dim lit, and the dressing room space is smaller than a phone booth. There was no A/C. The Service was okay. The cashiers were nice and friendly, the dressing room girls were quite the opposite. After I tried some clothes, I eyed on another item I wanted to try and the dressing room girls didn't look to happy that she might have to actually do some work and put away the clothes that people didn't want. Muahaha! ( evil laugh) oh well, she'll burn a couple of calories. read more

I really love this store. Over the years i've (sporadically) come, I've gotten a clubbing bandage dress from BeBe (1/2 off for $9!), a summer bag ($18, leather), a pretty summer dress ($28... not too much of a deal but it has good use value) and a peasant top (Can't remember the price). I've never sold to them before, so I'm coming from the point of view of just a customer, but the employees were so-so to me. The last time I came (today) the lady who checked me out was really nice. Admittedly, their dressing rooms need to be a bit bigger. I always smack my elbows into the door when i'm trying things on. But that sort of thing doesn't weigh heavily on my opinion of the store. Overall, you may have to dig, and their skirt section is definitely NOT curvy-girl friendly, but you can really find some gems here! :) read more

I went here today for the first time trying to sell clothes. The first thing that I didn't like was whatever I would sell, I would only get 30% of the cash and then 50% would go to a store credit. The point of me going to this store is to sell my clothes I don't wear anymore so I could buy clothes at other stores, especially since all the clothes on the racks at this place were priced at $32.00. Who would pay $32 for a used shirt?? I was bothered that the woman barely looked at my clothes. She picked them out of the bag, folded them and put them aside while talking and making eye contact with her co-worker. I'm pretty sure she didn't even look at anything. It was a waste of my time because she didn't even bother to spend time looking at my clothes. The other thing I didn't like was that they were only accepting winter clothes and they strictly don't take any business or formal clothes. I had really nice dress pants that I grew out of that couldn't be bought there. I had one really nice sweater that was in perfect condition but because it was "out of style" they wouldn't buy it.
