Needed some roundup for clearing out some stubborn weeds in my backyard. Stopped by Crown Ace Hardware in Anaheim Hills to pick it up. Ended up buying roundup in a Hudson sprayer type of bottle with a pump and spray nozzle. Along with a refill concentrate bottle of Ace brand weed killer to add some of to the roundup making a higher concentration solution. I've been shopping here for over 25 years, before they opened this location they used to be located off Santa Ana canyon, west of weir canyon in the festival center. I am very excited to share the superb service I received at my local ACE Hardware today in Anaheim Hills, CA from Karalyn. Here's what happened: As I was heading to my car to run errands, I dropped, stepped on, and cracked the key fob for my car this morning. My heart sank as the prospect of having to go to my dealer to get it repaired or replaced brought visions of hundred-dollar bills floating in my head. Fortunately, I remembered that Ace Hardware offered key service so I got my spare key to start the car and went to my local nearby hoping they could help, and I was right. Happened to walk by and saw a wheelbarrow at the front of the store with what appeared to be a bright neon yellow clearance price tag taped on. Went inside and asked if the price was accurate and the cashier said the price is whatever that is on the product. So I went home and unloaded the stuff in my SUV and came back to the store to purchase the wheelbarrow. The cashier came out and scanned the item while totally ignoring the price tag and went back inside and rung up the price, and voila, their price was three times what was on the tag! I asked the cashier about the massive price discrepancy; then the cashier called for the manager and the manager dropped the price by about a whopping 10~15% citing that the price on the tag was an error. Maybe it was just an honest error by one of the store clerk, but it could just as well have been false advertisement to get a customer in and do the switcheroo. Either way it doesn't change the fact that it was a major waste of customer 's (my) time going back and forth and the store not making any real effort or amends to keep a local customer happy. I like to support local small businesses but it won't be this one. read more

Last Tuesday, March 1, I stumbled upon a favorable review for this particular location's paint department. Located less then ten paces from the front doors, the paint section is managed by Karalyn. Arriving just after 5:30pm; from entering the store, to discussing the project (paint for a first floor bathroom with a small ventilation window where the top of the walls near the ceilings and bathtub are prone to humidity and mildew), to color matching, mixing the paint, and checkout was completed in just under fifteen minutes. This location emphasizes the Benjamin Moore paint brand and given my circumstances, Karalyn recommended a quart of the Aura brand as a test to see how it looked on the walls. She was also able to discover the matching paint was not one single color of white as an analysis indicated there were percentages of red, satin, and yellow in the final match. It's been almost six days and the walls look better than they have in five years. Sometimes one has to spend a little extra to obtain a quality product and I am very grateful to Karalyn at the Anaheim Hills location for her valued knowledge and assistance in making a do in yourself paint project worthwhile. read more

Store is so so, prices much higher than Home Depot. Astonishing thing is that the prices are much higher than their own online prices lol. Doesn't make any sense. They trick you into thinking that there is a certain price for an item and when you go in there to purchase it it is a couple dollars more... I believe target did the same thing and found their self and a massive lawsuit. Anyways I will only go to this place if Home Depot is out of whatever I need. And the last thing, to the African American lady at register I know you are miserable and rude but please try to have a positive affect around customers. What's one of the craziest things that can go wrong with a DIY project? Running out of product! That's where I was at earlier today, however thanks to Monet and her exceptional customer service I experienced the BEST outcome. When I called the store Monet not only answered with a smile, she ensured the product was available, when I told her I only needed two bottles she took the time to verify she had two in stock. And, there were only two left! Monet held them for me at the register even though I couldn't make it in for another hour. What could have delayed the project for another 10 days (the product isn't carried in most local stores), was completed today! My grandfather and I went to this location on August 6th, he had received a coupon for $5.00 off(for his birthday). My Uncle informed us that they repair screens here, so we took our screen and needed to get some parts for our sprinkler system as well. There was no greeting as I entered the store, one of the people at the counter straight out said they're not doing screen repairs right now(the other person at the counter was on the phone.). I went up to the counter a minute later asking if someone could help me with items for sprinklers, the same woman whom mentioned they're not doing screen repairs, just told me the stuff is on aisle 10. Once I found the aisle I was looking for, there was no one around to help, except for the guy who was building some barbecue, I went to ask him for help and he said he would call someone to help, no one ever showed up. I was on the phone with my Uncle at the time, he was helping me find what I needed. Someone FINALLY shows up and my Uncle tells the man what I need. I find out after my grandfather and I had left, that the man who helped me, my grandpa had said that he was just talking to another employee. Terrible customer service. I tried looking online for a number to call for customer service, but couldn't find one. I called the Fullerton location for that number and they were wonderful from the moment they answered the phone. Go shop at the Ace Hardware in Fullerton, not Anaheim Hills. This store is not your Home Depot but it has everything you'll need and much more, including customer service that can't be beaten. The store general manager, Michael, is first class when it comes to service. I came in because I had a problem with my traeger. Michael went above and beyond and came out my way to fix my traeger. Most of the time my projects require a trip to HDepot. Man is Ace Hardware a time saver though when you just need a washer for a faucet or a paint brush or a box staples, etc. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful too.
