Hands down the most helpful staff and store manager I have run across in a long time! They are extremely helpful and understanding My son's purchased a Traeger grill for me from this Ace store as a gift. I had problems with the grill and contacted Traeger support who were helpful but after 3 weeks and about 14 support calls to them, they were unable to resolve the problem. I told Traeger I wanted to return the grill but they told me they could only exchange it and that Ace would not take it since it had been used. I called the Ace store and asked to speak with the Manager. That's when I was transferred to Mike the Manager. I told Mike what I had been going through and he immediately apologized and told me to return the grill for a full refund. The next day I went down and met Mike who apologized again for all the trouble with the grill and gave me a full refund. I was so impressed with him, I purchased an upgraded Traeger from him. After having two back to back horrific experiences at 2 different Home Depot locations, I stopped into this Ace Hardware for some help with paint. The entire staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and fun to talk to. I felt so comfortable and taken care of, something that Home Depot failed to do. Chet, specifically, went completely out of his way to help me pick out paints and explained a lot about the process and really gave me some good tips as well as interesting information about color mixing/matching! He kept us laughing and smiling and was just so unbelievably friendly and helpful, I was at a loss for words. My sister had a return, and the lady (I didn't catch her name I am so sorry!) was also extremely friendly and helpful with her, too. When I was checking out, Chris was our cashier. Again, had a wonderful conversation and received some more tips on the paint job I would be doing. He said that being down the street from Home Depot (their biggest competitor) makes it difficult to compete sometimes, and that makes me sad because the workers here were so much more knowledgeable and caring than everywhere else I have been! All around the store you can hear/see the associates connecting with customers and the environment is just so positive and welcoming. You can tell there are regulars that come in, which I think is really cool. Some products are a tad more expensive than their big name competitors, but honestly it is worth it to genuinely feel taken care of and helped. I walked in to have a few keys made at 3 in the afternoon. There were at least three sales people and maybe one or two customers. In the middle of making keys, "Rita" stopped the machine to take a a personal call then began discussing her finances in front of me! I asked to talk to a manager who only replied "...I'm sorry..." Never fail, someone offers to help us. If we want help, we get it with a smile. So far, they have always known exactly what they were talking about. So usually I NEVER give anything in AH a good review unless its Taj Mapaw Spaw but this experience was so refreshing and surprising! A few days ago my favorite Hello Kitty lava lamp took a dump on me and I was soo upset :( I use it at night to avoid using a regular lamp so after almost 2 years of having it and it not working my mom realized that it wasn't the lamp it was the bulb -__- I felt so stupid because I was about to throw it away! I had 20 minutes to spare before they closed and immediately I was helped, the employee couldn't find the exact bulb that came with my lamp but he found a substitute in 2 seconds! I couldn't get over how friendly and fast the employee was! I was also taken back how they changed the store! It's been about 2.5 years since I've been here, we usually go to the one on Chapman but since time was running out this was closer. This store is so open and well lit! There was a few employees roaming around that made it easy to get help! When you go into the checkout line its filled with last minute goodies and a candle display with good QUALITY candles not cheap ones just to take up space , I got a nice sized Cranberry Cosmo candle for $7.99! The cashier is so nice and friendly, they have a reward program and were able to look us up even after all this time has lapsed! I will definitely come back here not during CF traffic times to get simple items that don't require a long walk in Home Depot! ^_^ read more

When I walked in the store I was asked if I needed help finding something. There were 3 older gentleman standing behind the counter. They pointed me in the right direction but never came over to check on me so when I did not find what I was looking for I walked out. They were all three standing at the counter chatting and did not seem concerned that I was going to leave. I told him I would just find what I needed online and the guy replied OK. I have always been a big fan of ACE hardware. They seem to always have the items that the big box stores don't and in a much smaller footprint with friendly sales staff who are well versed on the items they sell. Needed to stop in this location, which is by my office, to have a few keys made today. I decided to check on replacing my air filters and they had an air filter size (18x30x1) which neither the Home Depots (2) and the Lowes (2) nearest my home carry. Always had to buy this from Amazon previously. Great pricing with appreciative staff who know their products. Will be back. read more

My daughter and I went to purchase a grill. We hadn't grilled in a very long time, but knew I wasn't interested in a gas grill. Jacob asked if we knew about the electric wood pellet grills. I'd heard of electric grills, but not wood pellet. He thoroughly explained the ease of use and the benefits over charcoal (which is what I was expecting to purchase). He spent quite a bit of time with us and answered every question we had. We really wanted the grill for the 4th of July and he made it happen. When it was delivered, (by Mike, the store manager and Kevin), the Manuel was accidentally left at the store. They went out of their way to get it to me the same day. I have been shopping Crown Ace since 1975. Always had a good experience as the staff has always been knowledgeable and helpful ... ALWAYS. It's more like a small town hardware store with regards to the unique items, expertise and level of service. Yesterday I was helped over the phone by a new young associate, Jacob. It was a pleasure having him help me get an uncommon plumbing part. His enthusiasm and willingness to go beyond what most do was quite welcomed. Later that day my wife stopped by to pick up the part and without knowing who helped me on the phone ran into Jacob. She came home raving about this young man. She observed how well he dealt with difficult customer situations and was quite impressed. It had something to do with a customer's rowdy children, she told me young Jacob handled the situation like a pro. This goes back to what I had mentioned earlier. I just needed a roll of packing tape, so I decided to shop locally at Crown Ace Hardware. At the door there is a sign that everyone entering must wear a mask - I like this because I'm trying to stay away from Covid19 as I live with people that are high risk. Upon entering the store, 1 employee was wearing his mask around his chin. 2 other employees were wearing them over their mouths but not covering their noses. I watched 2 customers walk in not wearing a mask at all. I quickly made my purchase but will not be returning again. My bathroom sink was totally clogged and I was really fed up with trying to wait it out. I went to Crown Ace Hardware on Santa Ana Canyon Road in Anaheim Hills. As I walked in the door, Jessica greeted me with a friendly smile. She asked if I needed any help. I said that I was trying to unclog a bathroom sink. Jessica took me to the plumbing aisle. She started to explain about unclogging the sink. I immediately said I did not want to buy a snake as I could not unscrew the plug in the sink to try and insert a snake. She said she wanted to suggest something that worked well in her house, with multiple people with long hair. She showed me the ZIP IT TOOL. This was a long, thin yellow device that could be fitted down in a bathroom sink, even without removing the plug. I tried it, following all the safety instructions. WOW!! I recently visited your store with my brother on 9/3/20 who lives in Huntington Beach..He saw a patio umbrella on display in the store and suggested I come look at it since I wanted one for my patio..Well, I purchased the one on display, but didn't have any paperwork for it. I also purchased the base for it..When I went to put it together, the base wouldn't tighten up. The thing was stripped.. I had to go back to where I purchased it because my local store wouldn't take it back..(they should have, but wouldn't) I returned it on Sunday, 9/6/20 to Huntington Beach. I met with the asst. mgr. STACY ARIAS today..I can't say enough about her wonderful customer service to me, in particular.!! Come to find out the adapter wasn't given to me when I purchased the umbrella (It was connected to the ceiling in the store)..She helped me sooooo much. She also helped me with my paper towel dispenser and fixed that for me as well...Can't say enough about her !!!! She said if the lights didn't work on the umbrella, to give her a call!!
