I was craving a chicken pot pie and a yelp search told me that this place would deliver! we tried the chicken pot pie (super flavorful and yummy crust - just wish it had more gravy and fyi there was corn in it but no potatoes, which is not what i'm used to, BUT IT WAS STILL GOOD), the mixed berry cobbler (this was good, but more tart than expected - nothing a scoop of vanilla ice cream couldn't fix), and I got a shepard's pie to take to work the next day (as far as leftovers go, it was delicious, but the chicken pot pie was way more flavorful). 5 solid stars for tasty homemade food delivered! read more

Hands Down! The BEST chicken pot pie. Unfortunately the art of baking chicken pot pie has been lost in commercialism and big business. I can only speak to my generation and say in the 70's and 80's Marie Callendar's made a great pot pie - then as their business grew and became more commercial they lost their homemade taste. Crustees delivers on an exceptional homemade pie crust that is cozy and not too soft inside and flaky and buttery on top. The cream base is filled with tender chicken, fresh herbs and fresh veggie. So there I was at the Playa Vista Farmers Market and out of the corner of my eye I see a vendor selling pot pies and cobblers. The southern boy in me got pulled magnetically to Sharon's and that's how I walked away with four pies - chicken, beef, rhubarb, and sweet potato. As I write this, my wife and I just polished off both savory pies. The contents were delicious but as is widely known the true test of a pot pie is the crust. And the grade is A++. Seriously stellar. Now we have to figure out how to handle the deserts which is a dilemma leading to the only critique I have for Sharon's. What do you mean by suggesting each pie is two portions? No way. Who would ever want to share? You have to really love your dinner partner to let them close to your pie! I gave them five stars because there is nothing higher to award. read more

Excellent pot pies! Everyone I've tried has been exceptional. They also have great dessert pies. I met the owner. He was very friendly. The employees are also friendly and polite. The place is very clean. The only problem is the parking. Can be a problem during certain hours but I learned you can park behind the building at certain hours without having to valet. read more

I eat lunch in this area often and am always looking for a new place to try. If you haven't eaten here yet, you need to. I was having trouble deciding what to get because I had heard really good things about the gumbo through other yelpers but really wanted to try the shepherd pie. I finally decided on shepherd pie but the owner gave me a sample of the gumbo which was delicous (I'm going back for that in the near future.) When I got back to work to eat the pie for lunch I couldn't believe how amazing the shepherd pie was, the white truffle mash potato​ on top is to die for and I think it's safe to say the other pies are delicious​​ as well because the pie crust is the best I've ever had. This is the best savory pie place in LA. We found this place recently and I'm so glad! The crust is perfect. The filling is hearty and full of flavor. I loved their Cherry Cobbler. I like peach but I love it when I can find a place close by that has Cherry Cobbler like I love it. The crust was very flaky and cherries were the bomb. I had to divide it up so I wouldn't eat it all in one sitting. The only problem with Crustee's is that I have been back twice and the Cherry Cobbler was SOLD OUT!!!! I went to Crustees to order one Chicken Pot Pie and after looking at the delicious-looking displays of pies, I wound up purchasing so much more ~ some to eat when I immediately got home and also some to freeze for the evenings when I would be much too tired to cook. The Chicken Pot Pies are packed to the brim with quality chicken and assorted vegetables, the crust is flaky, well-made and outstandingly delicious. I can truthfully say this was the best Chicken Pot Pie I have ever had. Crustees Sweet Potato Pies are also outstanding. The Sweet Potato Pie has a flaky, well-made crust and the filling is not too sweet and it has the proper blend of spices. I cannot wait to try their other pies. YESSSSS. I am a major pie lover. Sweet and savory. I bake them myself and I buy them wherever I can find the good ones. And Crustees truly makes the cut. I just discovered this place yesterday, and I am seriously so happy. I got the shepherd's pie and the mixed berry cookie cobbler. The shepherd's pie was so flavorful!! They use truffle in the mashed potatoes, which does something magical to them. The stewy, meaty insides are absolutely delicious, too. This is better than most shepherd's pies I've had in the U.K. to be honest. And the mixed berry cookie cobbler was a winner, too! The cobbler topping is melt-in-your-mouth, and the berries were just tart enough to balance out the sweet topping. About pie sizing: one shepherd's pie was the right size for my big eater fiance to gobble up in one meal (but he was stuffed). I (an average sized woman) gorged myself on my shepherd's pie to the point of illness and still had a bit left over. We each only ate half of the mixed berry cobbler in one sitting, but you could eat the whole thing if you're ambitious (and if you haven't just eaten a whole shepherd's pie). read more
