My daughter and I stopped by this dry cleaner about a week before her prom to have her dress altered, and we were blown away by the service. The lady who helped us--who I believe is the owner--was incredibly friendly, sweet, and clearly experienced. She took 7 inches off the dress and had it perfectly altered and ready in just five days. While we were there, several customers came in to pick up their dry cleaning, and it was clear that many were longtime regulars. The owner greeted them warmly, and asked about their families. It was such a welcoming and community-oriented atmosphere. When we came back to pick up the dress, the owner wasn't there, but the gentleman who assisted us was just as pleasant and professional. The dress looked absolutely perfect, and we couldn't have asked for better service from start to finish. We'll definitely be returning here for all of our future dry cleaning and alteration needs. This place is a gem nestled in a failing business plaza in East San Jose -- there are just a few small businesses standing tall and proud in this plaza, and for good reason. Service overall is good. I would say the cost is on the high side compared to the one I've been to in MV. 1 business shirt and 1 slack was $13.50. This place is cash only. It's located in a corner of a plaza. I dropped off the items on Thursday and got them back Wednesday the following week. Their new hours are 9am-6pm. read more

Perfect. I took my wedding dress there to be cleaned. The cost was $120 and I got the dress and veil placed in a nice box (see photos). The lady (MAN! I wish I could remember her name) was super transparent. She told me the services that she offered, didn't try to push me to pay for stuff I didn't need for the dress, and was very courteous. Updating to five stars. I had my favorite backpack I could not use because one of the zippers was coming apart. I had no idea how to fix it. I stared at it for months. Then, I thought about the alterations at Crystal Clear Cleaners. I took it in, and the guy looked at it dubiously and said he'd show it to the lady who does alterations. I have been coming here for + 10 years and will absolutely NEVER take my clothes anywhere else! Even when i moved out of the east bay for 3 years, id stock pile my clothes to drive down huge loads of my expensve suits every other week. I've had buttons fall off or break from being brittle with time, andc caught the owner replacing mybuttons by hand one time when i came early to pick up my clothes. I Couldnt believe she was taking the time to change the button without me having to ask or even notice! Its things like that and all the attention to those little deta ills g h a t make them sooo great. It`s a great family run business where you truly do get treated like family. They are very flexible with pick up dates and on numerous occasions have rushed my items for next day delivery. They actually do their own cleaning on site so they are completely involved in the entire process. I have the body type that almost all my clothes , esp. Pants, require alterations. The seamstress here is extremely skilled as well. And their prices from cleaning, alterations or special request are very reasonable. They also clean leather, linens, down/ regular comforters and wedding gowns and i even believe draperies. She put my gown in a gorgeous g old display box that was dust proof after she did an amazing job cleaning out all the stains. All I could say is AMAZING job!! I took my brand new jeans that were smeared with lipstick and the guy who helped me out said he was going to do his best to remove the stains. Pleased this place has 5 stars. When I moved out to the East Side/Berryessa/Country Club area, I was at a loss for a cleaners. Charlie's Cleaners is a block from my digs, so I went there a few times. Talk about expensive! I took my husbands standard wool pea-coat there and paid close to $25! Not anymore! I found Crystal Clear on Yelp and gave 'em a shot. The woman behind the counter is ALWAYS pleasant and offers some useless chit-chat while she looks at your clothes or checks your pick-up ticket. I recently brought in several items: 4 pairs of slacks, a sport coat, a satin dress, and 5 dress shirts. The total cost to have everything dry cleaned was about $45. If I'd gone to Charlie's, I would have paid close to double that! Check out Crystal Clear if you need a new place. They're efficient, friendly, and inexpensive. Oh, one small thing - they don't take credit cards, BUT! They have a little ATM type machine that doesn't dispense cash, but it gives you a receipt, and they'll give you the cash out of the register. I've been coming here for 10 years and have had buttons sewn on, pants hemed, repairs made to holes in my clothes, and several dresses, blouses, and sweaters cleaned/pressed. I love getting my clothes altered in this place. The ladies are super friendly and very patient. They alway converse with their clients in and out of the store. It makes everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. It's very easy going for such a fast pace, and busy lifestyle. If you're altering some clothes, they have a fitting room provided for you and maybe some shoes to use just in case you wear that certain outfit with heels(and forgot to bring it).
