Called in for a to go order, it was ready in 15 minutes. This was my 1st time going to a Cuban cafe. The staff was friendly. The food was great, I don't have any complaints. I was curious ordering an espresso based drink from a restaurant, but surprisingly it came out good. I look forward to coming back again. read more

Definitely not worth all the hype I was seeing on the La Porte community page. Food was Greasy, no customer service, if you're new to the location they expect you to know how to order, behind the counter was filthy, food took forever, coffee was for dine in yet came in a styrofoam cup, gentle with the long hair was nicer and more conversational with the Caucasian customers, they forgot several peoples orders, even though there was a total of 5 people in the restaurant. We live in La Porte and always make it a point to support all our local small businesses, but this place will no longer be on our list. Highly disappointed! No false accusations, nor baseline insinuations, I said what I truly saw and felt. You as the owner are allowed to disagree with that statement but not allowed to claim I am 100% incorrect in my perspective. This restaurant is unlike any other in the La Porte/Deer Park area. They offer traditional Cuban foods like me personal favorite, Ropa Vieja! Both the plate and sandwich come highly recommended! Give this place a try next time you're in the area. Right down the road from Sylvan Beach! read more

The Cuban Cafe is THE place when visiting la Porte. Everything in their menu sounds yummy. My mom & I ordered a small ropa vieja sándwich mind you it was a small size but we still shared it. I tried this place for the first time and I can't wait to go back! I got the Authentic Cuban sandwich and it was outstanding! Easily the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. The next time I go I'll try the empanadas, although they have several intriguing entrees on their big black board. I was there for lunch and I was the only one there, and the staff treated me like a king. Super friendly. Highly recommend this place, you'll be amazed! read more

This place gave me food poisoning! I was up all night having diarrhea, vomiting, and a fever because of this place. I almost had to go to the emergency room! I was so disappointed, I seen nothing but good reviews so I drove 2 hours to try this place. I made sure I ate nothing else that day so I can try a couple items on the menu. As soon as I went in to order I noticed a couple red flags, for one they had a big waste bin right by the entrance of the kitchen that was literally overflowing, I tried not to think much about it since I did show up around lunch time, I thought maybe they just had a lunch rush. But I seen the cashier just on his phone not doing anything instead of cleaning the restaurant or emptying the trash or picking the trash up off the floor, a cook came out from the kitchen and had to pick up the trash off the floor. The tables were also sticky and needed to be wiped down. The restrooms were also filthy and the soap was watered down. Please do better when it comes to hygiene working in the food industry, people can get seriously hurt. I know I did. Very disappointing. read more

Was craving a different breakfast and ran across their menu on Facebook...Ordered the breakfast sandwich for me and the half-sized for my wife...delicious! Everything was cooked to order so it was served hot...crispy home-fried potatoes on the side, my sandwich had 3 eggs in it and a generous serving of sausage...Be hungry when you get there...The owners are as friendly as can be and there are complimentary cinnamon rolls on the counter...This one is going to be one of our favorites and next, we will try something from the lunch menu! read more
