Haven't been here in a while and boy how things change. From a small walk in store to a full cigar lounge with an impressive offering of branded cigars and there famous house rolls. Staff and service are great they really stay on top of things. The lounge area offers comfortable chairs, televisions and an outdoor seating area as well. What a great little shop. This was my first visit to John's pass and though it didn't quite live up to the billing of a "historic fishing village", it wasn't half bad, and this place put it over the top for me personally. Lots of stores sell tobacco, lots sell cigars too, but when you can watch your cigars being made? Well, that's a treat...Although some people refer to them as a tabaquero, the Cuban term for a cigar roller is 'Torcedor' and this shop had 2! Seated right up front for everyone to see, they were putting out some quality looking cigars, and they were fast. I took a walk to their humidor in back and after talking to the knowledgeable and friendly guy sticking the shelves about my usual vs my next, I selected a couple for myself. I'm gonna be honest, I typically smoke cigars that range from 6-10 dollars and these were $15+ so the shop got 4 stars instead of 5 because they were a little high priced, but... I suppose that's to be expected with their location on a little tourist trail. read more

This review is only based on the coffee drink I purchased. I have no idea about their cigars, as I don't smoke, but it sure was neat to watch the cigar rollers roll their product! As for the coffee drink, I only ordered an iced white chocolate mocha because the lady behind the counter said that it was 2 shots of espresso and the fancier cold drinks I was interested in were only 1 shot. So as I'm watching her make my drink I only see 1 shot going into the cup, so....uh....okay? I tasted it and it was weak AF, I could barely taste any coffee it tasted like white chocolate milk. It also seemed odd that she did not make the espresso shot the usual way coffee baristas do it, she just punched some random button, and put a little metal cup under it then poured that into the milk. Overall a disappointing coffee drink which should have been returned. read more

We were staying in St. Pete Beach and needed to find a cigar lounge to kick back and enjoy a stick or two. Fortunately, I found this lovely little spot located in Madeira Beach that offers some freshly rolled smokes in the lancero and box-press style that I enjoy as well as others. They offer known brands in their display cabinets before the main humidor room, where they keep the locally rolled ones. I was super impressed with the two smokes I bought that was delicious. They had a little bit of a macaroon taste on the back end as I pulled. The two ladies who were working the counter were super nice. The one in glasses provided me with a couple of recommendations and helped me realize that the triple-flame lighter I bought needed to have the flame size adjusted when it didn't light consistently at first. They allow you to either sit outside at one of the tables and Mad Craft Bar let you smoke in there while enjoying a drink or two -- which I did! Anyway, if I'm in Mad Beach again, I'll certainly return to this spot for more cigars. Additionally, they have online ordering where they will ship to your home. And parking was effortless with plenty of street spots available on the main street where the cigar lounge is located and on the surrounding streets that are still easy walking distance. read more

Great variety of hand rolled cigars. Popped into this place by accident and I'm very glad I did. I started off by buying one cigar to smoke at the adjoining bar next door. It was such a smooth smoke that I ended up buying five more and a travel humidor for my trip home to New York. We have been here multiple times and each time we find the staff helpful and friendly. Parking is tight in front of the shop so I would recommend parking in one of the lots nearby and just walking over. Good selection of cigars and they have hand rolled available! It was fun to watch the cigar roller at work! In regards to Covid 19 - they are wearing masks and encouraging social distancing. Most people who go in are wearing masks. Growing up in Tampa and living and working in Miami you cannot under-appreciate a daily afternoon cafecito break. Now living in Georgia nobody knows how to make a genuine cafecito or "Cuban Coffee" While we are not cigar smokers (just yet another downside of lifelong asthma) we love Cuban Paradise on our visits to the area. Growing up we used to find genuine Colada at kiosk in the mall but now it seems more difficult to find. Living in Miami somebody in the office would go out to the parking lot every day when the food wagon visited and return with a large Styrofoam cup of Colada along with a handful of small plastic cups that were filled and shared. It was a daily social event. Cuban Paradise is a great place to stop, you have to pay for parking at the Johns Pass chopping center but i is worth it. Our first visit was back in 1999 while still living in Tampa and we have returned several times a year when back in the area. They have remodeled and changed a little but the essence of the place remains the same today. You can watch cigars being hand rolled in the store, order from the cafe menu and sit outside on the sidewalk to smoke your favorite cigar purchase or sip on your Colada. The staff is friendly but if you order at the window in Spanish the poor girls working the cafe window will not understand what you are asking for. They will deliver a great authentic cafecito with a nice espumita topping. I am always surprised when they ask if I want sugar or "do you want sweetener?" I have brought friends before and ordered Colada with 4 cups and they have given me multiple empty Styrofoam cups. read more

The guy rolling cigars in the front of the shop is obviously​ an attention getter; but, there is a giant selection of their hand-rolled​ cigars in the humidor in the back. We made our way back to the humidor, and the sales clerk followed us back and was terrific. He was very, very knowledgeable​ about everything they offered and helped my brother in law select his cigar. He smoked it later that evening on our patio and remarked how smooth and mild it was. I first visited this place 7 years ago shortly after meeting owner Marcos Diaz at Conga Caliente in Tampa's Al Lopez Park. I picked up a few sticks from him at the event, and they were decent, so I stopped by his shop a few months later to sample some different blends. At the time, the selection was pretty much limited to his own boutique brand, which is rolled in-house, and sadly I was underwhelmed. Fast forward to 2017, and a lot has changed. Not only has the entire store been completely remodeled, but the selection has increased significantly. In addition to the shop's own brand, they now carry an adequate amount of big names ranging from CAO and AJ Fernandez to Cohiba (Dominican Republic). Simply put, there is now something here for everyone. As for the house brand, they've come a long way since 2010, but they're a little short of my expectations for the price. I tried a corona-sized stick with a corojo wrapper and a torpedo robusto, possibly a belicoso, from the "full flavored" section. The corojo was a flop, but the robusto had a lot of potential. It had plenty of spice, but the flavor was more medium than full, in my humble opinion, and full was what I was searching for. To accompany my stogies, I ordered up a delicious ice coffee, but Cuban Paradise owns the Mad Pub next door, so had I been in the mood, beer and wine was an certainly an easy option. Only major drawback here at Cuban Paradise is the seating. This is not a lounge, but more of a grab-and-go type of cigar shop that offers limited outdoor seating only with the option to sit at the pub next door. read more

The shop is in a pretty touristy area of town, but they still have great cigars. The customer service is matter of fact, but that didn't bother me at all. They stay in the humidor with you, but according to the owner, that had to do with FDA regulations, not them worried about you being a shoplifter. Think of it as being allowed to go into a meat locker at your favorite restaurant. Plus, they were happy to answer any questions I asked. The three cigars I bought tasted great and had great construction. Even, smooth burn. The people watching is great and the Cuban espresso is hard core. read more

They offer brand-name cigars, but I would highly recommend their house made hand rolled cigars. The maduro sweet 6x60 is phenomenal and the maduro (more like oscuro?) 6x52 were top shelf. What an incredible array of hand rolled cigars, many of which were the connoisseur's ideal, the Lancero. Choices with single, dos, and tres capas (wrappers); Connecticut, maduro, rosado, claro, and candelas too. And oh cannot forget the box pressed salomones and diademas, petit coronas, specialty figurados in the shape of small bent chimney styled pipe cigars, and others in the shape of baseball bats. Having a master roller on the premises affords much in the way of product control and quality, and with approximately a hundred different blends and facings of their own cigars, well it doesn't get much better especially at the extraordinarily affordable price points, at most I paid $25 a piece for the pipe shaped cigars, and if the natural scent of the tobaccos was any indicator to the quality, they're worth much more than what I payed in my opinion. Aside from their incredible portfolio, they also have a reasonable selection of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and a few Hondurans as well of mainstream cigar companies; and a good deal on infused cigars too. Cindy is/was extraordinarily knowledgeable and helpful too. They've got a mail order service as well, and I think that I'll be ordering often and in great quantity based upon what I saw and picked up too! read more

All cigars are hand rolled on site. Nice little outdoor sitting area where you can smoke, socialize, and people watch. The cigar I smoked had a sweet wrapper which isn't to my liking but that was my fault for not asking. After a couple drags, the sweetness went away and the cigar was excellent. Stopped by while my family was shopping in John's Pass. Went inside the humidor to pick up some of their house brands and was greeted by a staff member that answered all of my questions.
