I finally got a job in NYC, so I had to move to Jersey City. Being new to the area, I didn't have any idea of the movers in the Philly area. After doing some checking on yelp and google reviews, I came across Albo moving. Their reviews were really good, and they were close to my parent's house where I was living at the time. I reached out via cell and Alex responded the same day asking for more info. I texted it all to him. The next day he emailed me a quote and laid out all the info. The pricing was very fair, and based on his quick response time and great reviews, I decided to hire them. I am very glad that I did. My move went extremely well. I hired 2 movers and a 20-foot truck. Eugene and Serg were great. They clearly communicated their arrival time and kept me updated via text. There were 2 pick up locations - my storage unit and my parent's house. They had everything from storage wrapped and packed into the truck in 2 hours. Then we went to my parents for a few more things, we were out of there in under an hour. They drove to Jersey City and then had the entire truck unpacked and moved in and all the packing material cleaned up in 3 hours. It was an extremely hot day and the guys worked really hard and very quickly. I could not be more grateful to Alex and his team for the excellent job, and I would definitely hire them again for my next move. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for hard working, honest, reliable and dependable movers

Absolutely horrific nightmare!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! Most of my possessions were ruined,…read moredamaged, torn, scratched or completely destroyed. The owner, Eli is a con artist, and they didn't do a thing to rectify the situation. They lied about the reviews, telling me upfront that the bad reviews were written by a " past, disgruntled customer, who told their friends to write bad reviews." All lies. The movers threw everything into a huge pile in my storage space. DON'T BE A SUCKER!!! You've been warned! PS: Ronnie is very believable, convincing conman, and had booze breath. And BBB/filing a claim is a complete waste of time and energy. Simply put, they are crooks and liars.

Unfortunately, a very bad moving experience. I set up the move weeks in advance, paid the $50…read moredeposit, and felt pretty good about the move. The lady at the front desk had assured me of the price, advised me on how to tip, and sold me a mattress bag: I was set. I confirmed with her, several times over, that there would be no hidden charges anywhere. Service in the office is great, and I was feeling pretty relieved. On the day of the move: - I know standard 'niceness' may not be in their job description, but it was like these guys were really trying to be rude. One of them said a few words to me, confirming I was me. The others zoomed past me and proceeded to enter bedrooms and grab belongings - you aren't going to say hi? You may be the movers but this is my apartment. - They were inefficient. Ended up taking a lot longer than promised, and one of three movers was always waiting for the other two. Guys - for real? This is a per-man, per-hour service. - They don't guarantee that any IKEA furniture will survive the move (i.e., if IKEA breaks, it's on me). I get it - IKEA furniture is cheap for a reason. "Great," he said, and proceeded to carry out my IKEA furniture without even wrapping it up. Any non-IKEA piece was carefully wrapped. But IKEA was dragged out. When he smashed the corner of my desk against the door on his way out, I protested. "Aren't you going to wrap any of it?" --"No. It's IKEA. We're not liable if it breaks." WTF ---I know that's your disclaimer, but you're not even going to TRY to not break it? - Before they left my apartment, they mentioned I'd also need to pay the price of a parking ticket. Wait, why?? "Because we'll get a ticket. No parking spots in NY." Me: "Um - isn't it your fault if you double-park?" I mean, that's why I'm paying for movers - so I don't have to worry about this stuff. Them: "No." I get it, It's New York. Parking is tough. "Fine. But I'm not paying for a parking ticket unless you actually get a parking ticket." Them: "You have to. Parking ticket fee." WTFFFFF Finally, the truck pulled out. They met me at my new apartment. My roommate and I found a parking spot and defended it with the vigor of true New Yorkers. The truck showed up and parked. No parking ticket. - After a terrible move, I get the bill - WAY higher than I expected. I'm talking over a hundred dollars higher than promised. Why? All kinds of extra fees and charges. An example: gas fee. "But I'm already paying for a transportation fee. Isn't that the same thing? And the drive over here was less than 5 mins, so even that is ridiculous. You probably used almost no gas." Nope - huge gas fee. Etcetera. - At the end of it all, I didn't even get my $50 deposit back, or subtracted from the total charge. I tried calling the office, but to no avail. The only reason this place isn't getting a 1 star is that most of my stuff actually did make it to my apartment unharmed. Bottom line: the office is great. The negotiations are great. But the actual movers? I wouldn't trust them again.

Ordering and scheduling was super easy, so I really wish I could give a good rating. The bad: the delivery person showed up late, without letting me know. Not horrible but not great. Then proceeded to ask me if I really needed set up? And, can I please take everything in myself. Unfortunately, this was just the start. He was absurdly slow in setting things up, did not in fact complete everything (I asked for wall mounting of my shelves), complained the entire time and then yelled at me for a tip when he was done. Additionally, he left the boxes and trash everywhere.

I Googled "IKEA delivery" and this place popped up. Two words: buyer beware. I followed their directions, emailed them a PDF of my shopping list and they promptly called to set up a time, which was the next day. They emailed me the quote, which included the cost of my items, a $90 delivery charge and a $50 shopping charge (for going in the store, getting the items and buying them). It seemed easy enough and very convenient considering my schedule is nuts and I'm über busy. I left the office early, got the cash for the goods and met them at my apartment. So far, so good - right? Wrong. As I was carrying the items into my building with the assistance of my kind doorman, the delivery guys were calculating the final bill. When all was said and done, the shopping charge was $70 and the final bill was nearly $300 more than what it should have been. Why? Apparently the extra $20 they charged me for shopping was to pick out all the wrong items. After a few minutes of a confused driver telling me he didn't know what to do, I grabbed the cash and sent them on their way with the stuff I didn't order. A complete waste of time. Here's a tip for this delivery service: If the items aren't available at IKEA, you might want to contact your customers first instead of showing up at their door with the wrong and more expensive items. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend with a Zipcar?

After seeing such great reviews online we decided to book with pick and pack. This was easily the worst, most expensive, and most frustrating move I've ever experienced. We moved out of our 2-bed, 2-bath apartment on Sunday, August 2nd. We've moved this exact same furniture multiple times over the last five years, moved that were much farther away and with multiple stops. (I'm talking two stops over 40 minutes away plus a new apartment 40 minutes away from that, walk up to walk up). This move was one apartment with a walk up to a new apartment with an elevator 20 minutes apart. lt has never cost this much or gone this badly. They estimated $1,600-$1,800 for 6-7 hours which was similar to our last moves, but the final bill came out to a whopping $2,200, $2,500 with tip. That's $500-$700 more than far more complicated moves we've done in the past. The crew moved much slower than previous movers I have experienced. They kept disappearing for 15 minutes at a time, and they actually charged us for their lunch break, which is standard, except they were gone over an hour and there was only 20 minutes of travel time. The lack of respect for our things was unbelievable. They completely cracked my antique bar cart handles and wheel, cracked one of our lamps, and my dog's crate. Worst of all, my jewelry armoire was locked prior to our move but must have been pried open because the lock is completely broken and bent now. I haven't even finished unpacking yet and I'm terrified of what else I'm going to find ruined. On top of the damage, they literally left multiple pieces of furniture behind at our old place. They claimed some pieces couldn't be moved safely, which is a total lie because previous movers handled them just fine (Again, for less money and less time EVEN PACKING THEM FOR US) . Other items they just abandoned without saying a word. (there were things we had them leave, these were things they were absolutely supposed to take). They also promised they would arrange my living room furniture they had to move due to space to back where I wanted it at the end of the day, but after taking all day, they just left without doing it. They also did an awful job putting our furniture back together creating even more work for us It is incredibly fishy how this place has so many good reviews online. Now I know why: they make you fill out a survey right before they leave, before you even have a second to look around and notice that your stuff is broken or missing. Again these piece have all been moved multiple times by different movers (all good experiences) with no damage.
