There are no cameras and nobody checks to make sure the sketchy people leave after close. 2 people stayed over night and broke into several units. Picked the locks. Your stuff is not safe here!!! Nobody will help you when you're scared because you lost your entire life. Please, rent somewhere like U-Haul U-box. It's safer. This company forces you to pay on line only and charges you $6.05 a month in a year that's $72.00. I've been calling for a week to speak to a supervisor and have not got a phone call back yet. The manger said she will call me back and has been dodging my calls due to called ID.I will do my best to make this year my last year using them.She said she would waves the late fee and now she won't even answer the phone. Have had multiple units there throughout the years. Most of the units I've had were clean and taken care of. I like that it has cement and not carpet flooring. Now their FRONT GATES are stuck open for 3 weeks!!!! There's absolutely "NO EXCUSE" for this when the Public is PAYING Premium PRICES & TRUSTING a storage facility to keep their "GOODS SAFE." Same thing other places do..they'll advertise a low price and after you've moved things in you'll get a letter letting you know the next bill will increase by 25-30%. So did the market only change for me? What you do is you advertise a price you know you'll never honor. You charge set up fees on top of the initial price and shortly after, once people move their things, you raise the price because you know it's a pain for them to move all their stuff. I don't normally do this, but your ethics are very questionable. And getting on here trying to lie your way out of it says a lot. BAIT AND RAISE THE PRICE! DO NOT RECOMMEND. When I first moved in, I choose this place as it was one of the lowest priced. Upon moving in the local staff was great and very helpful. The check-in process was smooth and the facilities were decent. After 5 months of renting they increased my bill by $31 and removed the "discount" that I had initially. They never said this was an initial discount. When I called them to inquire on it they said it's a usual thing the company does, and it probably will be a few months before they raise it again. We are moving. Again. This time we are hoping to have it go off without a hitch. We decided to shop around for storage because I just want to make this as easy as possible. I searched all over Yelp and decided to reserve a 7x10 unit. The first month is free and the only money owing upfront is $24 for admin And $12 for insurance. So we went in, signed the papers and off we went. Quick, easy and uncomplicated. The manager was friendly and helpful and showed us around. They are also a Penske location so you can pick up and drop off your delivery truck of you e booked through them. They are open from 6am to 10pm so that's really helpful since we are trying to get as much in there before our actual move in date. Yelp filtered this review, but it is a real review. Long term storage renters should be aware of automatic rate increases (that may cause your auto pay bills to increase to more than double the full advertised price of the rental). I have a 5x5 (not climate controlled) unit. Originally I was paying $30 a month. After a couple years the prices started automatically increasing. I always assumed I was paying what ever the current rate for the storage facility was. Then recently they increased my rental from $82 to $89 a month. They got too greedy, and I looked on their website. I was shocked to see the new customer rate was $37 a month, and the full price was $42 a month. I don't mind automatic rate increases - but I think it is sneaky to increase my bill to MORE THAN DOUBLE the current FULL price!!! I don't know what they are thinking. I called them to correct the price. They acted like they were doing me a big favorite by "lowering" my bill to the *full price*... I got the impression this is a common practice for them. I have almost everything moved out of the unit. They won't be getting any more of my money. read more

I have used storage facilities many many times over my 55 years, and have never been inspired to write a review. Not until having used this Cube Smart. I've always assumed that storage units were cluttered, poorly run (sorry "other" folks), and over-priced. Not the case at all here! The facility is literally spotless, the staff really takes your specific needs into consideration when selecting a unit, and I was so pleasantly surprised by the cost! I was scrambling to find a storage unit and everyone seemed to be full. I went to a couple places with opening but they were scary. Found Cubesmart finally and WOW what a difference. Each unit is on ground floor. The place is immaculate and looks brand new. Security looks tight. The rates were just right. Tim, Jim and Heather were very friendly, helpful and courteous. We recently rented a unit at this Cubesmart. When we were ready to vacate, we notified the office on day 5 of our billing month. The move was to happen the following morning. The "manager" said that they would not prorate the month's rental because the move was taking place on the sixth day. The movers were already scheduled and the manager told us we would not be permitted to access our unit if we didn't pay for the entire month. Outrageous! We asked that they have a supervisor contact us to discuss but we never heard from anyone. So we had to pay for an entire month when we used only 5.5 days. How is that fair? read more

I've been to many storage units in my day, but Cube Smart consistently provides top of the line service. The manager, Tim is the best! In a day and age when people seem not to even know what good customer service looks like, Tim could write the training manual. He is amazing. He regularly goes out of his way to be helpful and makes it a joy to come in each day. It is obvious that his heart is in his job as he is there to help with everything from offering to give me a loaner lock for a couple days until I get my own, to delivering my packages right to my storage unit door when they come in, buzzing me into the gate when I stop by the office so I don't have to go and punch in the code again, to helping me sort out my various storage needs in the most economical way possible. I consider him and the rest of the Cube Smart team as partners as I can't imagine doing the volume of business I do without their help and support. Placed an online reservation because I work all day and have no time to speak on the phone, and if I wanted to talk to someone on the phone I would have called. I never received an email about the reservation, and I had provided my email address instead I received 7 calls that started out friendly but quickly became snarky and annoyed, the last one told me the my reservation was canceled. It's been 4 days since I made the online reservation and they cancel it because they can't speak to me, are they run by bitter teenaged girls who are afraid they are being cheated on!?! Horrible customer service in that they literally block you from making payment online or by phone if your are more than 28 days past due... which is a policy OBVIOUSLY DESIGNED TO FORCE YOU TO INCUR MORE FEES. What kind of business would block ability to pay. Although Cubesmart offers a cleaner better maintained property than public storage this kind of nonsense makes it clear their business practices are the same maybe worse. I'm a new customer, first month. Based on the other (2) reviews, I'lll keep an eye on the rate increases but so far, I'm extremely pleased with my experience. I called and visited approx 5 other places in the same day before deciding on CubeSmart. I've found them to be very professional, even from the initial call to what was a call center. Yes, they've got a corporate feel but that's ok with me. It's clean, their rates were competitive, and the access hours are as good, or better than the others I checked. There's only two minor complaints I have; they only have 1 restroom ad it's in the office. The office hours aren't the same as your access hours. So, if your out on the grounds, and need the restroom, you have to go up to the front in the office and if the office is closed, you're outta luck. The other thing is that there aren't any trash cans on the property. Otherwise, I like this place and I recommend it. Also, I'm using their free wifi in the office right now! read more

The price for these units was far less for a much less attractive facility closer to my home. We are glad to drive a few extra miles for this facility. I was checking out a bunch of self storage places when we first moved down here to oceanside and ended up renting here due to cost and also the previous yelp reviews. And I don't regret it one bit. I rented a unit from October '15 to March '16. Security is pretty good. There were a bunch of security cameras in the building. Also each user had a unique security code to get in and out. The units were clean. I had easy access to my unit even though it was on the 2nd floor. There were carts available to move items around. Tim, who manages the place, is very helpful and whenever I have a question, he will have the answer to it. No issues during my rental here and no problems vacating the unit either. Costs were competitive also compared to other facilities (you can also create an online accout which was convenient). I would definitely go here again if I had to rent a storage unit in the future. read more

Had a very pleasant experience at this CubeSmart location from the get go. The office and all storage areas are very clean (aside from the dumpster area where people throw away mattresses, rude...also not CubeSmarts fault) The manager, Heather greeted us the moment we walked in the door with a smiling face and an extremely positive attitude. We sat down to discuss what was needed and what was available and within 20 minutes, completely signed up and ready to use our storage unit. You can tell Heather cares about the customers and makes sure everyone has a quick and easy experience. All in all, this is a great storage place, excellent hours and Heather makes the experience a pleasant one. There are two other gentleman who work there (Jim) also a nice guy. However, there is some other guy who apparently lives in the top portion of the building, he REALLY needs to smile more. Don't look so glum sir, your upset face, brings people down.
