    Lunch!

We had family visiting and had to show them the Aviation Museum (now open to the general public with FREE admission). After visiting, we ate at the Cubi Bar Cafe. There was no wait. The waitress was very professional and provided excellent service. Everyone ordered something different and no complaints from even the picky eaters. The chili dog, Cuban panini, were the biggest winners. All the soups are prepared fresh and not out of a can. The prices were reasonable, the food was tasty, and the decor to match the aviation environment. Great experience overall!

Great, cute little place to eat while visiting the NAS museum. The food isn't the greatest, but it is convenient and has a neat atmosphere. The service was great and our food came out fast. This was a Monday and the special was a small pizza. You could choose pepperoni or cheese. My kids shared the pepperoni and I thought it was pretty good for a non pizza joint. I had a steak panini sandwich. It came with plain chips, and I didn't see where there were any options choose a different flavor. The steak on the sandwich was kinda thick and a little tough, but was doable. I prefer a fajita/then style steak on a philly style sandwich. The sandwiches seem to range from around $8-$10.

I went here mainly for the history and all the navy artifacts. I tried the subic steak panini that came with a bag of chips. The service was great, as well as the experience. But the sandwich itself wasn't very impressive for the price. It has a decent flavor , smaller portions, but was just ok. The museum though is what initially drew me here.

In short: 5 stars for the location and decorations, 3 stars for the food, 4 stars for the service and prices. Let's start by saying this is not just another museum cafe. It is the actual setup from the Cubi Bar at NAS Cubi Point which was in the Philippines. Anybody who did a Japan/Korea deployment with a squadron in the early 90s stopped in here. Over time the squadrons started leaving plaques and they adorned all of the walls. Some are even sculptures! When the base closed down they were able to save all those pieces of Naval history. What an appropriate place to display them, the Naval Aviation Museum! So they brought a little bit of Subic Bay to Pensacola to share with everyone. Not only are the walls full of history but you can eat at the tables on the museum side and look out at all of the aircraft which helped shape our nation's history. I love it. Other than that, the food is nothing special but the price was less than what I would have expected being inside a museum. All in all, this is a nice place to rest your legs and have a bite to eat while you take in all of the exhibits.

Squadron cruise memorabilia all over the place.

If you're spending your whole day at the Naval Aviation Museum, you're going to have to stop for lunch and any other restaurant is a drive away. Even so, this is a nice little place in the museum with tasty sandwiches, great service and interesting decor. There are Navy & Marine squadron tour/cruise mementos hung all over the place, which makes it seem like a hooch on a distant deployment. Just reminds me of the bar scene in "Top Gun" waiting for Maverick & Goose to belt out "You've Lost That Loving Feeling".

Very cool vibe, but still the only option if on base for lunch or dinner. Options are limited, but we all enjoyed our meal. Mother-in-law said her turkey sandwhich was really good. Salads looked decent. Kids grilled cheese was actually really good. Decent prices and no matter where you sit...you still get decorations to look at. The kids enjoyed it

This is a great place to eat and can definitely get busy if you go during the weekday because of the military squadrons that usually have lunch here during the week. The food can be a hit or miss depending on what you order, but for the most part its a pretty neat place to eat with all the different military aviation memorabilia around the restaurant.

This is a perfect spot for a quick bite and break while touring the Naval museum. It's way larger than it appears from the outside. The food is a step up from standard and the service was great. Give it a try.

It's 2017, why so much styrofoam at a sit-down restaurant?

As far as food goes, you get what you pay for. Our waitress Yen was great, and food came out fast. But why are they using plastic flatware and styrofoam cups? Very wasteful.

    The decor rocks!

The decor is awesome but the food stinks. Go sit at the bar and have a beer but eat your lunch somewhere else.

It was reasonably priced compared to other museum restaurants and it was a sit down restaurant with a friendly staff.

For as long as I lived in Mobile, Carnicería y Taqueria San Jose has eluded me. I've seen the name…read moreof this restaurant when searching Mexican food but never realized where it was. It's been hiding in plain sight to me. Anyway I wanted to try some Mexican food but the real kind and not the fake. I at first thought I wanted some tacos but I ultimately settled on quesadillas. The reason I picked quesadillas over tacos was mainly because quesadillas came with rice and beans. It was that simple. I ordered my meal online and decided to head over to the restaurant. I got there earlier than what the estimated time in my email said my food would be ready. The place was pretty close to packed. I realized the store was more than a restaurant because it displayed cuts of meat in the glass counter. I saw a family with children with popsicles that the parents had purchased along with the meal. When I moved further in the store I was approached by a employee and I told them I made an online order. She went back in the kitchen and came back with my food after a short wait. When I got back home, I couldn't wait to eat. There was a plate for salad and a plate for the quesadilla with the rice and beans. I mixed up the salad with the rice and beans. I don't eat Mexican food a lot so I'm not sure if that's how it's done but that's how I did it. I enjoyed it. Next I tried the carne asada quesadilla. This was like no quesadilla I had before. I say this knowing all quesadillas basically consist of the same thing: dough, meat, and cheese. This quesadilla was on another level because each of those ingredients were much better than what I've experienced before. The cheese was really the star of the quesadilla. It was so rich. I really loved this quesadilla. It was the best one I've ever had in life. Before I forget I want to mention I bought a Mexican Coca Cola with my meal. I could taste the difference from regular Coke but I can't exactly describe it. I loved it though. I really want to come back here and try more items on the menu.
