Let me start off by saying I'm pretty picky (and well versed) in my nail salons--I've been a fan of the mani/pedi combo since the ripe old age of 11....way before gel nails existed! Since I can't make it out to the valley always to see my favorite manicurist I had to find a place nearby. After finding Cuccio nails I was a little hesitant just based off the strip mall surroundings. It's listed as being on Abbot Kinney, which it is, but there's a parking lot off the side street which is much easier! You don't have to make an appointment but it might get busy during weekend/evening peak hours. It is a clean establishment, not snobby. If you're just getting your nails done you will sit at a table but if you're going for the combo (gel/regular manicure-pedicure) you get to sit in a comfy massage chair. There's lots of different gel and regular polish choices and in my opinion the highlights are the massage with warm lotion as well as their long lasting gel manicures. read more

So at first glance I was really happy to find this place. They are really good at pedicures....acrylic nails is a different story. I've been here about 8 times and from my perception when the main owner, the adorable and sweet pregnant lady, isn't there, then the staff slacks off. She's done my fill twice and you can tell she enjoys what she does she's a perfectionist and my nails came out looking amazing sadly the other man that is the only other acrylic specialist in this salon could care less about his job and how the nails look. Here's a few situations that happened.... I paid $25 for a fill it came out not only crooked, a nail fell off three days later I had to come back in get it fixed for $10 more only to one day later have another nail fall off. You have to keep pointing things out to him otherwise he pretends like he doesn't see what's wrong with your nails and just starts to paint them and you have to stop him and it gets really awkward because you just want to relax and trust that the person cares about your nails and does your nails right and with this man you have to watch him like a hawk otherwise your nails will come out crooked, he has done my fill four times and each and every time I just get more annoyed and upset that I have to point out a bunch of details to get my nails to look better and comparable to when misses Cuccio does my nails Also... I was getting a pedi and the girl doing the massage was amazing so I asked to pay extra to have 10 minutes more she said ok, stood up to talk to the guy who usually does acrylic nails and they switched and he continued to do the massage never once asking me if I'm okay with that I had asked for the extra 10 minutes because the massage that she was doing was awesome so that was really awkward and I just didn't say anything. Then during the really hot weeks I came in to get a fill, again the main lady was gone and it was really really hot inside the salon and I asked several times if they have AC all the workers looked over to the guy that usually runs the card, the really cute buff one and he said its not hot enough and all they did was turn on this tiny little thing that just blew in my face it was so random like I don't understand why you have to be so cheap just turn on the damn air conditioning Jesus I'm sure you make more than enough money! Lol I writing this in hope that the owner will see this and understand that her staff is unprofessional when she is gone and I know she's going on maternity leave and I really hope they get their act together because there is about 10 other salons down the street that everyone in the neighborhood can go to read more

I don't like having to tip two people. I also don't like the fact that you can only tip cash and you have to use their atm. Just not very convenient. My nails are good, Only lasted a week before I started loosing them though. read more

I used to come here because the people were more skilled than at other salons, and they spent more time to do a good job. They have clearly started to hire new people who are un-trained. I was very uncomfortable with how clumsy the manicurist was that I asked for someone else to do my nails. Horrible customer service here! It's very disappointing because they do a pretty good job. I make an appointment every time and every tine i wait over 30min. Today Nhi took another person in between my appt who was a walk in. I waited 30min for her to get to me four walk ins got taken care of before i did. I was there for 2hrs. There is no point in making an appt because they don't care for you're time they will have you there waiting all day. I usually go on my lunch break which leaves me a little over an hour of time which is plenty of time however every time i go they take 2-3hrs. I've sent friends who have said they waiting over an hour. Today Nhi really took her time attending to other clients while i was waiting for my appt with her. And when i brought it to her attention she said that i wasted her tome picking a color!! I picked a color they didn't have a matching color too so i had to pick another color. She is super rude! It's super unprofessional for her to tell me that i wasted her time when I'm a paying customer who arrives 10-15min before my appt time. As the owner of the shop she really needs to work on her customer service I've been a repeat customer and have even sent new customers (friends / coworkers) they are only interested in making new customers happy and don't care about old returning customers. Under new ownership. The prices have gone up. The sea salt massage is no longer included with the pedicure. They charge $5 extra for the sea salt. So, they have gone up on the prices and cut back on the quality of service. By no means is the service the same as before. I am so happy I found this place! My coworker recommended them to me and I ran right over after work. Don did an AMAZING job on my nails. Like seriously, the best job I've had in years. To start, he had to remove these awful, thick acrylics that another place had put on. It was arduous for him and painful for me, but he took his time and was as gentle as possible. He then gave me a new set of acrylics, and they are beautiful! The perfect shape and thin, just how I like them! Tracey did an excellent job on my toes. And her massage was to die for. Didn't have a great experience here. The place is dirty and there was the owner's kid there yelling and playing video games while I was getting my nails done. Impossible to relax. Very hard to communicate as many of the staff did not speak very good English. Also, there's no A/C, so too hot inside as well. The worst part was the RASH I got on my finger the next morning from their dirty salon tools. All these bumps -- an infection or reaction of some kind that took over a week to go away. EW!
