The Taco Taquero bone marrow tacos aren't worth the money so skip those and get regular tacos. The Corazón de Filete filet mignon was great and the Pastel de Campechanas (traditional Mexican puff pastry, vanilla ice cream, pecans, dulce de leche) dessert was incredible! Had a surprise dinner at Cuerno last evening. What a surprise!! Just absolutely fabulous food all around. But the steak Tuetano was BY FAR the best steak I've ever, ever had. It was flavorful, tender and truly just the best. And I've eaten at steak houses around the world. We also had short ribs, the Mexican corn and broccoli. This is the best Mexican restaurant I've been to outside of Mexico. Wow, where to start. We started with guac and an elevated queso fundito that was absolutely to die for, and then had the hamachi appetizer which was even better - absolutely magical flavors there. For dinner, four of us shared a variety of tacos, and the ribeye steak. The rib-eye had incredible seasonings and melted in our mouths. The tacos were elevated, looked stunning and tasted even better. Cocktails all on point. Only small ding was that our reservation was 830 and didn't get seated til 915. That said, they put us at a bar table where we got drinks and first round of appetizers. And given we weren't in a rush, it didn't bother us. My girlfriend and I have been to cuerno often because it's one of her favorite restaurants from her home town in Mexico. The food as always was fantastic as well as the cocktails. Recently was the first time we got a table on the bottom floor and though it was lovely the service was really lacking compared to other visits. We had to wait more than 15 minutes for tortillas, salsa and a check having to ask multiple people multiple times and our waiter wasn't even the one that ended up helping us as we had to ask others most of the time. A little disappointed after this most recent visit but we will still be going back just hoping for better luck with service. read more

Lively Mexican steakhouse in midtown, perfect for after work meetup. The salsas, guac and cocktails were great. We tried the steak tacos and the Baja fish tacos - both were delicious. Our server was attentive and helpful and they sent complimentary honeydew margarita sippers that were so cold and perfectly balanced. Four hosts stood by the door, but no one offered to take our coats. In New York, on a cold day, that's a basic courtesy--especially for a restaurant trying to present itself as fine dining. Good service begins at the door, and here it felt like an afterthought. After being seated, we waited fifteen minutes for water, which set a tone of inattention. I placed our order as soon as someone approached, worried we might be in for more delays. Midway through the guacamole, a server apologized for forgetting the sauces that should have accompanied it--an unnecessary miss that undercut an otherwise excellent dish. Later, our waitress reached across me to clear unused place settings without so much as an "excuse me," interrupting a conversation and adding to the sense of disjointed hospitality. Bussers repeatedly consulted servers about which tables were getting which dishes, creating traffic at the pass; staff bumped into one another as they flowed from the kitchen; managers seemed present but not truly directing the rhythm of service. The result was a low hum of chaos that bled into the guest experience, making what should have felt polished instead feel unsettled. Bottom line The kitchen is doing impressive work--thoughtful, layered, and genuinely delicious. But the front-of-house needs to match that standard with warmth, organization, and attention to detail. If the service and operations come up to the level of the food, this could be a standout destination. Right now, it's a terrific meal wrapped in an frustrating service experience. This has quickly become my absolutely favorite high end Mexican restaurant outside of Mexico City itself! The food is outstanding- the servers and hostesses and Marcela the Manager are all the most welcoming staff you will find anywhere. The server Diana might be one of the best most professional servers in manhattan- I'd like to nominate her for such an award. Went again last night and all I can say is I LOVE everything about this place. If there is a wrong order here I haven't found it yet. I usually don't knock off points for service/atmosphere as I typically care most about food and drink quality but I had to make an exception here. We had a 7:30pm reservation for a Friday night and were seated promptly. We were not close to the entrance of the restaurant at all, but every time someone entered / exited the restaurant we felt the cold air from outside. It was uncomfortably freezing throughout the entire dinner. People at other tables were wearing their winter jacks the whole meal. Service was also just OK. The food was spaced out slightly longer than what it should have been but we were ok with having more of a longer dining experience so that was only an issue because we were so cold and wanted to get out of the restaurant. Our waiter did not check in as frequently as we are used to at other similar types of restaurants. We enjoyed the food but definitely would not return in the winter read more

Well we, a party of 10 went to Cuervo for dinner this past Saturday 8/23. Just when you think an establishment was already great, we were pleasantly pleased to see a great thing rise to a beautiful leave of superb. From the moment we entered we were greeted by Marcella a dear who escorted us to the perfect table for ten, round with a lazy Susan so we could all interact with each other. Just the beginning , here comes Dyana which we adore, greeted us with her beautiful smile and remembered our diet issues and preferences. And the fun begins with delicious trays of the best Mexican salsa's and the most amazing home made triangles of delish corn also know as chips but in this case too good to be called chips, that said at least 4-5 trays were devoured by all. Oh, here comes the tequila bar, run by the talented Ernesto, also the beverage director, he asked what we liked and suggested Casa Noble, absolutely divine, smooth and delicious, even the non tequila drinkers were in awe, yummm. Then came the apps chicharron de pulpo, crudo de hamachi, guacamole and ?? all gone and hummed about. Next more deliciousness, Tacos callejero ,gringa portobello, tacos vaquero,ribeye a la sal, Corazon de fillete, pescado zarandeado, fideo de poro asado, papas ajillo, ensalada cuerno, tortilla soup :) happy happy were we, but there's more, yes the desserts, also all devoured because we were already full. and last but not least, Tobais who gave us his undivided attention throughout the evening, making sure we had everything we needed.
