Let me just say this place is exceptional in every way. I made a reservation for a Tuesday at 5:45pm and I'm so glad i did because this place was extremely busy which i took as a good sign. Once i walked in my friend and i were seated quickly. Our waiter brough over chips and salsa's and two complementary frozen margarita drinks. Wow it was good and strong they definitely didn't skimp on the tequila haha. We started with our appetizer which we opted for the Ensalada César de Tijuana which was Romaine, Grana Padano, pork chicharrón croutons, homemade Caesar dressing and the Tacos Callejeros which had 4 tacos , butcher's choice of premium cuts of meat, fresh cilantro, onion, salsa verde( this was insanely good). We have the tacos a 10/10 and the salad was a 8/10 didn't care to much for the croutons but the dressing was great on the salad. For out main entree we went for the Rib Eye con Tuétano - 16oz which had Ribeye norteño-style, pepper, garlic, bone marrow, salsa piquín limón. This was the best rib eye i have had and the bone marrow on top was chefs kiss. We definitely have this a 10/10 actually am still thinking about it as i write this review today haha. For the dessert we went with the Pastel de Campechanas a traditional Mexican puff pastry (campechana), vanilla ice cream, pecans, dulce de leche. Incredible, and i say you save room for this haha. They also brought out a complimentary dessert which was a rich chocolate truffle, a warm touch of cinnamon. Also very good! All in all our experience was just amazing from start to finish and we cant say enough great things about the food, amazing service and beautiful ambiance. I can not begin to express how much I enjoyed Cuerno !! This was one of the BEST dining experiences ive ever had. We were seated at the time of our reservation, greeted in a timely manner, and our server was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and giving suggestions. We were even given surprise complimentary drinks which were so delicious that we ordered another round ! When it comes to the food, EVERYTHING was delicious. Exceptional. Theres nothing that was just "okay". We were given complimentary chips and salsas to start, and we were given a range of sauces mild to spicy. They were all very delicious !! I highly recommend ordering the Queso Fundido and the Chicharron de Pulpo. We were given tortillas with the appetizers and we ended up making quesadillas with both appetizers mixed together and it was soooooo good. For entrees, we had the Ribeye con Tuetano and the Corazon de Filete. Both were extremely flavorful; the filete was super tender and the Ribeye was melt-in-your-mouth good. The bone marrow on top took it to the next level ! Also loved the mashed potato side and mixed vegetables ! We finished off our meal with mint tea, cappuccino, and the Pay de Platano con Cajeta y Nuez dessert. I can not believe how incredible that pie tasted ! Like wow ! The whole dinner left me speechless in the best way possible. The ambiance is very chic, dim lighting, spot lights on every table (loved this), upbeat music, and great overall decor ! Our servers shift ended and we were given another server that wasnt as attentive and it took our dessert and check a lot longer to get to our table, but it was a full house so we didnt make a huge deal about it. Came for an annual Christmas lunch with some friends and I so enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. first and foremost It's situated right across from radio city music hall, so it was incredibly festive. It was nice to still see all the Christmas lights up despite it being January 2nd. the restaurant is very pretty low lighting. we saw that they have like a specialty lunch menu that's $39 for a three course menu and you get a lot of food for an incredible price. Everything that we ate was absolutely delicious starting with the appetizer which was the beef taco absolutely delicious then moving on to my entrée I had the milanesa, which is a fried and battered steak and that was also really good despite me never having tried something like that before, but the thing that was incredible was the drinks I had like a Mezcal margarita but it had like some candied steak in it that you could chew while also drinking the drink and so I really really enjoyed that overall I'll definitely be back. The food was very good overall -- I'd rate it 9/10. Great variety on the menu, delicious chips and salsas, and the cauliflower our server recommended was excellent. Prices were reasonable as well, especially when sharing dishes. However, the first impression at the host stand wasn't great. I had called to say I was running late and one of my guests arrived before me, but he was simply met with a hand gesture and told "wait at the bar." When the rest of us arrived, the host left me and my six guests standing in the hallway by the bar, right in the entrance, without directing us to a proper waiting area or asking us to move -- which felt uncomfortable since we were clearly in the way. I understand that arriving late can disrupt reservations, and as someone who also works in hospitality I'm very aware of that. But in a city like New York delays happen, and the host's role should still be to welcome guests rather than make them feel uncomfortable. Overall, I did enjoy the food and would come back hoping for a smoother and more welcoming experience next time read more

Phenomenal. With the abundance of steakhouse in NYC, Cuerno stands out with its focus on Mexican cuisine. The space is huge, the service is excellent, and the food top notch. We had; Complimentary chips with salsa - great chips and salsa options ranging from mild to spicy. Guacamole - excellent guacamole. In the center of the guacamole is pasilla salsa which gives it a bit of a smokey flavor. Taco Callejeros Tacos - delicious, butchers choice of meat in 4 tacos. Arrachera Norteba - 8oz skirt steak with flavor, very good. Rib Eye con Tuetano - 16oz ribeye served with bone marrow that is lathered over the steak table side. This stands out as one of the best steaks in the city right now. Sides Pure De Papa (mashed potato's) & Esquites (corn) - both were good sides. Mango Asada - grilled mango with whipped cream and mango syrup. This was fantastic. If you want something a little lighter than Pastel de Campechana's this is it. I foolishly thought that Mexican food can be high end but after visiting Cuerno, I know that it's impossible. I was not thrilled to spend $400+ on food that I could have gotten at your local Mexican deli in Sunset Park. Place is beautiful inside, hence the 2 stars. You can get free bones at your neighborhood halal butcher. No really, try it. No way was I paying over $100+ for a cheap steak and a bone. Best thing here was the chips and salsa assortment. This really had me excited to try the food. Octopus tacos - ok I guess. Still just a taco Beef tacos - could have gotten this for $12 at a food truck. Literally no difference Branzino tacos - couldn't taste branzino bc it was covered in undressed cabbage Potato side - strange tasting slop with tons of lime Corn side - corn with tons of lime Branzino main - ok I guess Steak - INSANELY salty. Chef must have made a mistake or maybe he was trying to kill me. Didn't understand the Kellogg cereal and the onion. Vanilla cake with puff pastry - why is this $25? I went on a date night on a Friday. The moment you walk in you are greeted with great enthusiasm. It was busy that night so it was a 10 minute wait for our table. We got seated downstairs. The ambiance was great. Excellent atmosphere and thank you to our server Tony who did an excellent job explaining the dishes and gave use recommendations. Beautiful experience. From beginning to end. Walked in early and needed a seat at the packed bar while i waited for my friend. I came to Cuerno for a friend's birthday dinner with a group of girls, and overall, we left feeling underwhelmed. I made the reservation specifically noting it was for a birthday, but it was never acknowledged. It may seem small, but when you choose a restaurant for a celebration, those details matter. There were also a few execution issues throughout the night. We were sent shots (which we later realized someone in our party had ordered), but instead of charging us for the reposado that was requested, the bill reflected Don Julio 1942 -- nearly double the price. We had to catch and correct that ourselves. The first round of drinks was also poorly made and had to be sent back. Once remade, they were significantly better. For a restaurant at this price point, however, that level of inconsistency is disappointing -- especially when cocktails are $20+. The most frustrating issue was with our takeaway food. We ordered both a ribeye and a filet and asked for the remaining portions -- which were on the same plate -- to be packed together with the roasted garlic. When we got home, only the ribeye was included. The remaining filet was missing entirely. Since both steaks were on the same plate, it's unclear how one was packed and the other wasn't. It was disappointing to realize that part of a steak we paid for simply wasn't there. To be clear, our servers themselves were kind and attentive. (Thank you JP & Daniel) The issues seemed more operational than personal. All three of us work in hospitality, so we understand how busy nights can go. Despite the hiccups, we still chose to pay our hospitality forward and invited both of our servers to dine at our restaurant so we could take care of them the way we know how. That said, between the billing error, the drink inconsistency, the missing food, and the lack of birthday acknowledgment, the overall experience didn't match the expectations set by the ambiance and pricing. For a restaurant positioning itself at this level, attention to detail is everything -- and unfortunately, that's where the experience fell short. read more

Love this place! Have been twice now and the experience has been excellent both times. Great service and menu selections, we went for a birthday and sat downstairs. The staff was very attentive and made sure to honor the occasion. Complimentary chips & homemade salsas give the traditional Mexican restaurant feel at a high-end steakhouse. Also enjoyed the guacamole as an edition. Portions are large, so I would suggest trying a few taco dishes as a table and then splitting an entree. Taco Taquero is a signature dish where they make the tacos table side, but if you like marrow I would suggest the Ribeye con Tuétano. Also have enjoyed the Arrachera as an entree. A culinary delight! Everything was exceptional... The food, the service, the drinks all hit the mark and exceeded expectations. As a Texan it is hard to find Mexican food outside of Texas that makes an impression, but Cuerno leaves a mark that will not be forgotten. First, thank you Fredy for taking care of us last night. Your recommendations and attentiveness were very much appreciated. As for the drinks, the Paloma was refreshing and I requested an Old Fashioned with Don Julio Reposado and they nailed it! There were three shining stars during our visit: First, you should not miss the Coliflor Trufa Habanero! This dish is the absolute best cauliflower dish I have ever experienced! The flavors in this dish are well balanced and unique. Again, this is a must try! Secondly, the Arrachera Nortena paired with the Pura de Papa are two menu items you should not pass up. I know a lot of people come here for the Tomahawk Steak and if you need that to feel special then go for it, but if you want a delectable piece of meat at a very reasonable price, then try the Arrachera Nortena. The Pure de Papa is a unique side that is light and fluffy topped with a crema to balance out the flavor profile of the potatoes. This side will go well with any of their steaks, so don't miss it! We ended the meal with the Campechana, which is a multifaceted creation that has a little something for everyone. Ice cream, puff pastry and caramel all put together in a presentation that is impressive. Note: This dessert is worth a solo visit if you are just looking for an after show dessert that is unique. Went there for dinner and loved the tacos. The taco taquero was delicious and the portobello taco was a surprisingly delicious. Food was great, but drinks were not up to part. We tried several drinks and they were ok. There are two floors and the first floor has a great ambiance and decor. If possible, make a reservation so you don't get seated in the basement.
