This Culvers was a family favorite that fit evrybodys food needs until today. We have 2 vegan grandparents, and one grandvegan. Culver's had a great veggie burger that satisfied their dietary restrictions without being fake or "Franken" food. Just good plain food. We could all eat there. Not anymore. They added cheeses to the reworked veggie burger so now our lactose intolerant son can not eat it along with all the vegans. The staff also forgot to include any Ketsup though it was requested twice. Greasy!!! But,not in a good way.The gross greasy where you must take a few napkins to absorb the excess,where you're not eating food,but some material soaked in canola oil. I ordered the double sourdough meal.I was worried about ordering the double because I never had their burgers I usually get fish or chicken. The burger patty on the sourdough burger is not big,so the double is ok for a normal appetite. After ordering in the drive thru we were given a plastic number,our food came out in about 4-5 min and the guy took the number. My fries were hot,fresh,and yummy. I don't usually like ANY frozen crinkle cut fries but these were done right. My burger looked good(see my pic lol) but sadly it was flavorless. I wish these restaurants understood that a sprinkle of salt goes a long way when cooking. I had to mask the Nothing flavor with ketchup in order to eat it. It was also SUPER greasy- like in a gross way but I'm too lazy to take it back or actually cook today,I gave half to my boyfriend and I'll pretend it's tasty and eat the rest later. Called to make a pick up order and was told that was not possible on a Friday night during Lent. Told the associate that we wanted to get a large chicken order and asked if that would require a long wait, to which the associate replied "no, it will only take a few minutes". So we drove the 15 minutes to get there and found no line at the register. Started to place my order and was told to wait...the associate had to see if they had chicken ready. She turned around to the asst mgr and was told "NO, we don't have any chicken, and it will be at least 30 minutes". Today's lesson = Culver's does not have the ability to serve all menu items, unless they are in demand by the majority. Every now and then a Culver's burger and fries just sound so delish. On my way home one evening I pass by this Culver's and headed for the drive thru. I got a burger and fries and I also ordered some mashed potatoes and gravy (my toddler loves it). Got home and everything was correct and I sat down to eat. I handed off some mashed potatoes to the little one and she refused to eat it. I gave it a try and realized how horrible it was! It was bland and you can tell it was a powder with water added to it. Truly gross. Burger and fries were true to form, greasy but good. I love me some Culver's but stay away from their mashed potatoes! This is fast food at its unhealthiest, but also very tasty... cheese curds, frozen custard that tastes a little eggy... and butterburgers (!). I ordered the cheese curds and a small chocolate malt, and they asked me to park just at the end of the drive-thru to wait a few minutes for my order to be completed. They were not at all busy from a glance at the parking lot and the drive-thru so I was surprised. Everything tasted as cholesterol laden delicious as it should be though. Finger lickin' good. Chains are always sort of hard to rate for me. I mean its Culvers. We all know what to expect by now don't we? Butter burgers, cheese curds, concrete mixers, and weird specials (I think wall eye was what it was when I was there last). The food quality and cleanliness is pretty much standard here. The service is pretty hit or miss. I mean they're always friendly, always. Sometimes they're fast, sometimes they're annoyingly slow. I don't blame this on them so much as they get super busy so I understand. Either way its super close to my house so I hit it up fairly often and will continue to do so in the future. read more

This is one of the best places to get late night ice cream! (Or as they call it, frozen custard) mmmm... my mom and I come here often for an after dinner treat. We love to eat sundaes on the patio. The best part is that you can have two toppings for no extra charge! Plus they use all real ingredients! They actually put REAL strawberries on sundaes! Who does that anymore? She asked me what I wanted and I proceeded to tell her when she rudely said "hold on, the register isn't ready" although it was only 10:16am. She continued to have a rude demeanor the entire transaction. She needs to be retrained on how to provide good customer service especially towards customers that have been cordial to her. I crave Culver's whenever I leave the Midwest, and currently living in Nashville makes me crave it even more! Culver's has the best quality burger meat, with succulent beef juices oozing with buttery flavor, with fresh vegetables and cheese, in between a fresh, soft bun. I used to eat this at least 3 times a week in Chicago, until I went on a trip to Wisconsin Dells, and read the nutrition facts of a Double Deluxe value meal, which is about 1200-1500 calories. That was a complete buzzkill. It's still the greatest American burger, and I'm always tempted to drive to the nearest Culver's to Nashvile, which is in Bowling Green, KY. These aren't around in the city, so when I visited my grandfather in the 'burbs and he suggested we go here, I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. Started in Wisconsin and they pride themselves on fresh ingredients, like Wisconsin cheeses and the best cheese curds you can get at a "fast food" place. My coworker and I (both of us adults) often get the kid's meals (chicken tenders) because you it comes with a scoop of icecream (flavor of the days are the best!). Once you collect 10, you get a free meal. This particular store has really friendly customer service. This review is geared 100% toward the fish and custard and no other part of the menu. The Cod is delicious. I remember growing up on Long John Silvers and Arthur Treachers before they either became disgusting troths of crud (LJS) or went out of business (AT), The fish at culvers is so light and filling. Almost 5 years ago when I was apartment hunting in the Downers Grove/Lisle area I stopped here with my mom for lunch...and I've been coming here ever since. A place where you can get fried cheese curds AND frozen custard??? Doesn't get better than this! Their "Flavor of the Day" sign always tempts me to drive through as I drive down Ogden sometimes, especially in the summer months.
