It's decent custard... I prefer a little more egg. The chocolate is a rich chocolate flavor.. Burgers are decent... Worth trying.....

I chose Culver's for something different in 37067. I got the Atlantic Cod... the fish was very good and "meaty," but a little too greasy (yes, I know...it is fried). I just didn't really like fries getting soggy from the fish...I hope this makes sense. With that said, Culvers is consistently delivering good fast food, as I've had their burger (very good) and a few other options... I'll definitely be back. read more

A word to the wise: Leave any pretensions of being on a diet at the door. With the fried cheese curds, the pork tenderloin, the custard, and so many other delicious choices to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters (aka my 3-year-old), you will not leave here hungry. The butterburgers are also quite good, as are the onion rings and fries. I know the price range says under $10, but it can be very easy to blow through that number with a float and an extra side. Went twice in two days: the first time last night just to check it out and the burger came out in just a few minutes and was piping hot with a great char to the burger and a perfect meat to bun ratio. The second time today for lunch, and it took a good 15 minutes to get my patty melt style "Wisconsin Swiss" or whatever it was called with an order of onion rings. The burger was hot, but the bread was barely warm even though it was grilled. The onion rings were ice cold. Meh. read more

Just arrived in Franklin and looking for a good burger place. This is not it. This is an order at the counter place. I ordered the deluxe single. The burger patty was thin and over cooked. I wanted to get some extra pickle after receiving my burger, so I went up to the counter. Three employees looked right at me any just went on. Even when I said "excuse me," the two people with their backs to me ignored me. The search goes on. read more

Smelled like sour bleach was honestly unbearable so I took the drive through. Every thing was fine until ordering my custard when I asked what toppings they had. They were very short with me and the person taking my order directed me to the menu. I had heard about this place from a friend and remember him recommend cookie dough as a topping. I asked again what kind of toppings they had but he insisted that the toppings were on the menu I finally just asked if they had cookie dough and they replied yes in a spiteful manner. The first time I ever went to a Culver's was in Wisconsin and it was great! The next 20+ times was in the Chicago area and it was really good. I couldn't wait to get the "Flavor of the day". When I moved to Franklin I discovered Culver's here so I took my husband expecting the same as up North and I was very disappointed. We only had the ice cream but it wasn't good. The cones were stale and the custard was grainy and already partially melted. The good news is it was good for my diet since I lost my appetite and the custard melted so fast and tasted icky so we just threw them away. read more

Wow! This place rocks. I can't believe how big the menu is and that I can order green beans instead of fries for my kids. The ice cream (frozen custard to midwesterners but we southerners still call it ice cream) is the best around and gives my kids a rason to eat the beans. read more

First time going the other day, My husband and I did not know what to get, the drive through worker was SO helpful and funny, he helped us and we ended up ordering the burgers with bacon and there cheese curdles and fries. It was fabulous! we loved it and will go back again, and the cheese curdles were a great change and so yummy! We will be back! read more

This restaurant has some of the best staff I have ever encountered, and I am never disappointed. The food is so delicious, as is the custard! The portions are pretty big as well. I also love how they do so much with and for the community! They work with homeless groups, school programs, sports, etc. read more

Went here for burger week not knowing what to expect. Their burgers are all less than five dollars, so there was not a discount for burger week. My girlfriend and I both got burgers, and we split a frozen custard and fries. The service was fast, very fast for how busy the restaurant was, and the food was actually delivered to the table. The burgers were not amazing, but they were certainly worth the money. I would liken the burgers here to about the quality of a Wendy's. Better than McDonald's, but certainly no 5 Guys. The burger patties themselves had the consistency of a Steak 'n Shake Steakburger, but I prefer the Culver's buns to the Steak 'n Shake buns. They were lightly toasted but still very soft. They were the trademark Butter Burgers, but I honestly don't really know what made them butter burgers. Maybe they were cooked using butter? Either way, there was nothing that really screamed "butter" to me. The fries are served crinkle cut. There was adequate seasoning, and the fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Very well cooked. The custard dish was a bit odd. It was something called a concrete mixer, similar to a Dairy Queen Blizzard. We got Oreo and strawberry mix-ins. The custard was tasty, but it melted extraordinarily fast. It was halfway melted by the time it hit the table. Service was actually quite a high point. The cashier was polite. The tables were regularly bused, and when an employee would clean a nearby table, he would also pick up trays and paper that we had finished using. Overall, very courteous and friendly wait staff. Overall, Culver's is a somewhat above-average fast food restaurant. The food is extremely reasonable for the price, and I would definitely return. read more

The kids meals are awesome---they come with a coupon for ice cream after the "main event" and the inside is clean/family friendly. The "great" item on their menu are the cheese curds! I used to love coming here but now I stop when I just have to have a butter burger. Service has gotten slower over time and they frequently forget to put ketchup in the bag. Food quality is still great but drive thru service is a real drag. Sooo slow. Hoping things improve but if you need to pick up something quick this is no longer an option for quick. read more

A new Culvers opened here in Franklin, TN. Not having heard of this place before, we thought we'd give it a try on July 12, 1012. We spent a bit over $19 on a double patty ButterBurger with cheese and fries, and the North Atlantic Cod Fillet with mashed potatoes. We also bought two unsweet iced teas. The burger patties were sizable enough, lightly seasoned and tasted alright. I have two complaints. Firstly, they put very little lettuce, tomato and onion on it (under the patties). There was so little of each, I had to lift the bottom bun to find them! Secondly, by the time I had consumed a litte over half the burger, I realized how very greasy it was. At that point I could not finish it due to the greasy mess in the basket below. Their krinkle cut fries were well prepared, but are completely 100% tasteless. I rate this meal a solid "D" Their iced tea is by Culver and is nearly tasteless. I like that fast food chains are now spending a few dollars for recognizable brewed iced tea brands (e.g. Fuze, Tetley, Lipton, etc.). Culver should learn from this. Their tea is terrible. Let's look at my wife's fish dinner, which appeard quite ample in size. To start, the fish was under cooked (still translucent inside the breading) and very, very watery! Disgusting. The coleslaw (in a sealed plastic cup - not exactly communicating "fresh" here) made her face contort. She put it down and never touched it again. She tried the mashed potatoes and then gave me some. This was really bad. Let me take a guess...at no time has a real potato ever crossed the threshold of this establishment. These were either freeze dried potato flakes or a powder. Simply horrible. She rated this meal a solid "F". We walked out with my burger mostly consumed, but left the french fries, iced teas and the entire fish dinner uneaten. read more

Okay, I know, Culver's is just a fast food place. What keeps me coming back is the best fries in Cool Springs and a tasty cheeseburger wrapped in an incredibly soft, fresh bun. But the real reason that I stopped to type a review of Culver's is because of the extra special service that I received the other day. Her name, I believe, is Kordonna. I brought my 92 year old wheelchair-bound mother there for lunch after a doctor's appointment because she loves Culver's. Kordonna could not have been more service oriented had we been at a fancy five-star restaurant! She was very attentive to our every possible need and made our trip to Culver's exceptional! Yummy, thick, NOT limp-with-grease crinkle fries. The hamburger patties are VERY thin (and I mean VERY), so ordering a "double" isn't as decadent as it sounds. Also, burgers are heavily salted. I had to wipe the salt off with a napkin before I could stand to eat it. The customer service is fabulous! read more

Let me start out by saying, I'm from Wisconsin and have eaten at many a Culver's including the original! And, I am very impressed with this location in Franklin, TN! Every time I go through the drive-through, I (probably slightly-obnoxiously) tell them I've eaten at the original. But, every employee who hears my bragging is always so sweet and really excited to hear about it! Two energetic employees have also had their own stories of meeting Craig Culver, the creator! So, right away, they've made me happy to be there. And, what can I say? Their food is great! On July 12, 2013, I got an order of deep fried cheese curds and a chocolate frozen custard cone. If you haven't had frozen custard, you must try it! It's real thick and delicious. Like ice cream, only much better! And, being from Wisconsin, I've also eaten many a dried-out over-cooked cheese curd, but these were perfect! Try dipping them in ranch sauce too! Mmmm! Have seen a few laughable comments comparing this place to Steak and Shake. PLEASE don't degrade Culvers to those standards. This place kicks S & S rear end. The food, service, and especially the atmosphere are head and shoulders above them. The burger patties may be somewhat similar in their appearance, but that's about as far as I can take any resemblance. Culvers taste and quality is much better without question. One of the best burgers around frankly, esp the double. I've eaten at many Culvers over the years, dozens of times. Used to have one near us in IN. Honestly can say I've never had a bad meal. Emp's are clean and helpful. Wide variety of menu items, many I tell myself I'm going to try, but just can't bring myself to pass up a good dbl-cheese. The rings are well worth the upgrade, think it's 50c on a basket. My family of 4 usually gets at least one basket with rings so we can all share. I have no idea what Shakee's frozen custard is, but I've had many different custards and ice creams and not many beat this place. My wife dreams of the turtle sundaes so I have to take her for the fix when I need some brownie points! Don't listen to the silly detractors on some reviews here. You can't make 100% happy, but some of these folks are way off base. read more

I've eaten at many culvers through out the country. It took this location a year to get the custard consistency correct. But, hey, they got it right and it is worth every calorie. My main concern is I have never been there when the drink area has been clean, often I have to go to two or three tables before finding one that is clean. At the same time one can find teenage staff milling around not caring about it. Several times when ordering I will have to literally point at the picture on the menu before they get the order correct. By this, I am describing mainly the teenage staff. They just don't seem to be getting solid training in customer service. With chic fil a being blocks away, and known for attracting and training top notch young talent, this culvers management would do well to stop in and study their youth workers. The culvers young workers act unsure, unempowered, scared, not smiling. It is a concern. Come on Culvers... You are too great to not manage and train these kids better. read more
