Impromptu visit as our usual place was closed. Walking in this place is immaculate the music is gentle. We ordered chicken burger and fries and 3 burgers Patties and 2 burgers with fries. In a lost translation we ended up with NINE patties 2 burgers and 1 fry. Our fault we didn't ask to read the order back. The staff remedied the problem with no issue. The kids liked their burgers, hubby enjoyed his burger and I enjoyed my crispy chicken sandwich. The fries were very fresh and hot and a good amount in a serving. I have butter and salted smash patty dreams. Ok, not really. But these burgers are pretty spectacular. And it's rare you find this quality of food and freshness for less than $5 these days. Yikes their service has tanked here. It's been a long time since I've stopped in but was craving some ice cream and was nearby. The drive through line was pretty long, about 6 cars deep but I think they are a make it fresh restaurant so meh, semi understandable. When you want ice cream lol, you'll wait. Right there on the screen was the perfect ice cream, the flavor of the day, a vanilla ice cream with caramel and nuts in a sundae cup!! Destiny, perfect, exactly what I ordered BUT, not what I got. Once I pulled up she hands me a chocolate shake or concrete, I asked what it was and let her know what I ordered and she said "that's the same thing just blended", now I'm not a confectioner but even if blended I don't think it would turn chocolate lol. But Julie wasn't having it, I asked again if they had the correct order for the flavor of the day of the vanilla with caramel and she spat back real quick that it was the same but in a concrete. I explained to Julie that I didn't order a concrete. Now my food wasn't made yet so to prevent anger tainting of my Sammy I simply said OK and pulled to be allotted waiting spot. Ok let's start with the food, the food was great, I had the Swiss mushroom burger, it was just an absolutely delicious juicy burger, the onion rings hot and crunchy. The wife has the 3 piece cod dinner, and also loved it, so the moral of the story great fresh food. Now the customer interaction, this place has a zero for not welcoming customers, too many kids all together just hanging around, but I won't blame them probably management or training. When the kids brought the food to our table they just had this zombie look , like they did not want to be there, none of them were rude or mean, just zero interaction. Why do I say this??? I was recently at another Culver's in Tennessee and the kids there were super hyper, very positive very welcoming the moment me and my family walked in, they used tons of pleases and thank you, felt like I was in a Chic Fila. I think this Culver's could do better if they step up their customer service interaction, I really Love Culver's food, another thing I noticed here why did you only have one register open, and I was ordering a large order, and people lining up behind me, I felt rushed because of this, you had tons of kids there but only one register, yes eventually you did open another, but only after seeing frustrated customers, and you don't want it to get to that point. So please correct the ship and get this place in the correct path, because I really enjoy Culver's food. P.S. Burger was plain excellent. Lettuce crisp and cold. Pickles tangy and crunchy. Ample cheese and bacon. For once, a burger that looks as good as the menu picture! Cheese curds for my side were good but smaller than I remember them. Big portion though. Custard for dessert? Of course! So creamy and good. I discovered Culver's many years ago in Illinois. I was pleased to see them open one here. I found one in McKinney that was disappointing. The one on Hwy 121 near The Colony is very good. Their burgers are the best in the industry in my opinion. The breadth of their menu always impressed me. The one in Illinois was bigger, but that was a different economic time. The location of this one is a little inconvenient. If you don't hit the right place to turn you have to drive miles to get back. They need another entrance cut. Had onion rings as a side and wow theyre the best ive had anywhere in a while! Washed it down with fresh brewed unsweetened tea which was also the way I like it, plain and simple! My order is simple: Double ButterBurger on Rye with Mustard, Raw Onions, and Pickles, with Onion Rings and an Unsweet Tea. This location seems to repeatedly get my order wrong, either they add cheese (I AM ALLERGIC TO) or they prepare it on a white bun (I DO NOT EAT WHITE BUNS) when I clearly ordered and paid extra for Rye bread or they give me Sweet Tea (I CANNOT HAVE SUGAR IN MY DRINKS)! TODAY THEY ADDED AND CHARGED ME FOR CHEESE! I NEVER ORDER CHEESE DUE TO I AM ALLERGIC TO CHEESE! I checked my order to make sure it was on Rye, however, I didn't think that I had to open the sandwich to check for cheese! When I made it home and sat at the table to enjoy my meal I realized their error of adding cheese to my sandwich! I immediately called and asked to speak to a manager. I told the manager, who stated that his name is Nathan, about the problem with my order and he told me that he would replace the sandwich. I told him that I need the entire basket replaced, which included onion rings and an unsweet tea. He said that he would only replace the burger since there was no problem with the side and drink! That is ridiculous to me! So I will never spend my money at this particular restaurant location again, even though I previously was a frequent and loyal customer! That is poor customer service and poor management! So then I requested a refund instead , because even though I was a frequent and loyal customer, I now never want to eat there again! Nathan told me that I had to come back in to get a refund even though he had my order pulled up on the screen. He should have just voided or credited back the order. He refused to do so because of the side item and the drink. So since he wanted to be petty about the onion rings and the unsweet tea I told him to just refund the sandwich and he still told me that I had to come back! I am not driving 26 minutes (one-way) for that. So ridiculous. So basically I wasted my time, money and gas and now I still need food that won't cause an allergic reaction!! I am super disappointed!! ***Also, my previous visit through the drive through, I had the exact same order listed above and they prepared it on a white bun, I drove back around to notify them of the error and they brought out another one on a white bun! Culver's always has consistency going for it. Consistently spotless, consistent correct orders, and consistently great food. I've never had to wait more than 5-7 minutes for my food whether it was through the drive-thru or if I was eating inside the restaurant. The employees are friendly and give great customer service, plus the managerial presence is noticeable. I wish I was younger and my metabolism worked harder - when I used to work for a different Culver's location I could down a double burger and a side of cheese curds. Their portions are generous - the Snack Pack deal is one of my repeat offenses. Check them out! They said you have to try them with the dipping sauces!!! You'll love them! So I get back to the hotel with our food and the burgers were great, fries and onion rings were great. The bun was soft with a slight buttery flavor, the fish was hot and moist with a slight crunch, but lack seasoning flavor. I guess that could be a good thing because the lettuce, shredded cheese and tarter sauce made up for it. The salted caramel milkshake was creamy with a smooth rich texture, which was so delicious. My husband and I had wanted to stop at Culver's for awhile but never had stopped in before. We were in the area today around lunchtime on a Saturday and were more than pleasantly surprised! The place was super clean, well staffed and the food was excellent! My husband got a double cheeseburger and crinkle cut fries and I got a crispy chicken sandwich and the cheese curds- which are a slight upcharge of $1.50 since they are a "signature side". Honestly, WORTH IT. My husband was BLOWN AWAY by his burger and dared to say it may have been the best fast food burger he has had. He could not stop talking about the bun! Haha My chicken sandwich was also good. The cheese curds they claim are "wisconsin style" and from being in Wisconsin last year and trying cheese curds there, they are similar. It cost about $18 for both of us, which is not the worst for the quality of food. We also got a chocolate and vanilla milkshake on our way out- this part tasted liked a Wendy's frosty with thicker ice cream, but still good. We've been coming to this Culver's location instead of the McKinney location since the pandemic began because of the drive thru. The food is so good that we drive 20 minutes one way to get it! To my knowledge, this is the best place to get cheese curds in DFW, and maybe in all of Texas. The cheese curds are nicely breaded and not as greasy as Freddy's. They have tasty crinkle-cut fries. The food is very filling. They have a huge menu with basically anything you could want to order, from burgers to chicken to fish and more traditional family dinners. I love the variety of the menu. I usually just get cheese curds and custard, but I have had their chicken strips as well and enjoy them. My family has enjoyed their burgers. I love knowing that I could get a "fancier" meal with mashed potatoes from the same place I could get a burger and fries. It makes it a very versatile restaurant! Their custard is great, and comes with two free toppings for a one-scoop sundae. I love getting a chocolate scoop with marshmallow creme and Oreo, but there are lots of topping options from candy to fruit if I decide I want to mix it up. They also sell pints of custard for about $4.50. If you sign up for their emails, they'll tell you what the flavor of the day is each day of the month at the beginning of the month, and you can plan your trips based on what you like! The drive thru situation is a little weird because they hand you your drinks (I assume-- last time we went they forgot to give me my drink lol) and custard at the window, then put a little table marker on your car door handle and have you pull ahead to receive your food.
