Since we discovered Culver's in Mooresville, near Costco, a few years ago, we've developed a craving for the delicious food. The fish sandwich is out of this world. The butter burger is my husband's favorite. Onion rings, fries, ice cream. (The summer lemon ices are amazing.) We've always had a positive experience with the service. I was in Mooresville to find an apt for my son. We stopped in for lunch. The place looked new, very clean. The ladies behind the counter were super nice. The older lady that took our order, explained the menu to us, since we were new to Culver's. She was so sweet. Food was VERY good. Half way through our meal, the older lady brought us some samples of the frozen custard. I think she was the manager. I would love to give her 10 stars! She was so sweet. I had terrible service with a takeout order. All the food was shoved in a bag that was too small for the order. Things were crushed, food fell out of their container and the burger was burnt and hard. I filled out the survey and checked the box asking to be contacted no response. I emailed corporate still no response. So finally I went to Facebook sent a message to the corporate page and a review on the store page, no response. Culver's had their Grand Opening today but perhaps should've had a soft opening or two. The store which has a great location right beside the Costco was well decorated outside with an obvious appearance of saying "We're open!" My friend and I stopped in today and the first thing I noticed was a man outside with a name tag saying he was a manager. You have a manager outside passing out menus and controlling traffic?!? That's a teenager's job. No big deal but weird decisions in my opinion. The store being brand new was clean and comfortable. There was a ton of employees working, and the young man that took our order was extremely nervous, and seemed timid talking to strangers. We ordered two bacon deluxe burgers, one with no onions. Young lady brought our food in a bag. Ok so my initial thought was because of COVID, this is how they are doing things. The same young lady didn't offer napkins, ketchup, anything. So I got the stuff myself. The burgers were not marked, so upon figuring which burger belonged to who, we notice there's no bacon on either burger. The burger tasted burnt and extremely salty. My friend asked to speak to a manager. Some advice to that manager: when someone is complaining, let them steam in out. Don't interrupt! That's rude and rather silly. He admitted to the mistakes being made and offered the remake the burgers, nothing else. You could've offered me the difference back in what we paid for vs what we got. Overall his attitude was poor and seemed to be immature with not "really caring". Not a good first impression on the first day. Upon leaving nobody else had a bag for there food. So they bagged our food and thought "screw it" just give it them. We will not be back. EVER. Upon leaving we saw a man outside taking pictures wearing Culver's golf shirt. My friend realizing this man was somewhat of importance stopped and told him of our experience. He seemed very little concerned and offered us a coupon for a free burger. First, the cashier walked away to chat with another employee before taking my order. Then l waited about 20 minutes before going back to counter to ask about my food I had not yet received. After everyone stared at me with a blank expression, one young lady ask for my order no. She consulted the kitchen staff but failed to come back and tell me what they said. I've had Culver's food before and this was as delicious as ive ever had (try the cheese curds), but what best enhanced this experience, was the service. Tina T welcomed us with a smile, helped us through our order, came to check on us, brought our kids dessert and was all around greatly personable. Admittindly this was our first time eating here just wanted something we hadn't tried prior. Worst mistake ever. The food was so greasy it was not something we could even eat. I picked up my hamburger and it was dripping in grease I took one bite and had to stop. My husband had a fish sandwich with onion rings exact same issue he ate maybe 1/3rd of his and we both agreed to throw away everything and go somewhere else. ABSOLUTELY WORST EXPERIENCE!! I WILL NEVER RETURN! I went on a Saturday at 1pm. The drive thru had a long line so, silly me, I thought going in would be quicker. I placed my order and then proceeded to wait 43 minutes. 43 minutes at a fast food establishment? After ordering? No. So I asked the cashier (Tahliq was the only bright spot of this whole debacle), if my order had even been put through. He came back and told me another 6 minutes. At that point, I requested to be refunded. Tahliq went to the manager, Tina, and told her that I had been waiting "a long time" and wanted my money back. Tina ignored both of us. Not happening, so I approached her directly requesting my money back. She grabbed my drink cups, walked to the trash, threw them away and then stated that my food was ready. Quite professional for a manager... She then began mumbling about how people needed to be patient. After another 5-6 minutes of her attempting to return my money (still not sure if that happened because my account isn't reflecting a refund currently), she handed me my food, said "here, just take it. And I'm still giving you your money back. But next time, honey, you might want to be more patient. This is a very busy time and we had some big orders". (And, I wasn't the only one that had an issue with their lack of timeliness). There are many other fast food restaurants in Mooresville. Culver's, obviously, won't miss me, but voices carry. It's been 45mins. I've ordered in the drive through lane and was told to go park with a post-it sticker marked with a number on my side view mirror. While writing this review our food was finally delivered to us. We were barely hanging on, as we felt deceived by the moderate drive through lane. We decided to give this new place a chance, unbeknownst to us, the parking lot was full of parked cars waiting on their drive through orders. Holidays came and went, another year had passed, and the seasons had changed numerous times before we finally received our rations. Once delivered, we had to go back because they forgot our kid's drink and ketchup. So, now we are starving, aged, and have a dehydrated screaming child. On a side note, the burger was pretty good, but quite bland. Fries were nothing special. I probably could've done my Costco shopping while we waited. If I could give the service and product there today zero stars, I would. Have been to Culver's before in different towns. My husband ordered a dish with a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of vanilla. I ordered a turtle sundae with vanilla ice cream. When I got past the toppings and tried the "custard" it was bad. It tasted gritty and no vanilla flavor whatsoever. I've had I've crystals in I've cream before and are familiar with that, but these wouldn't melt. It was a powdery grit. My husband's chocolate was smooth and creamy and chocolaty. His vanilla was also gritty. I didn't want to waste calories and asked him to drive back through and return my %95 order and order me chocolate. We ordered it and got to window and it wasn't ready. First person didn't want to get me edible ice cream so I asked for manager and she rolled her eyes and tried to explain to us what ice cream does then said theirs tends to sit in the machine and can get crystals. She never apologized then a third person stuck his head out the window and we are now explaining a third time. He said he'd take care of it. We waited at window and a fourth person told us to pull all the way up near garbage can. Four cars getting cooked food got their food and my cup of ice cream never came out. Husband went in to get money back and told them our order never came out. They never said they were sorry even once. Never again. It's a joke there. read more
