It's been at least a year since I was a patron of Weinerschnitzel and I think the most recent time…read morewas my last time. For starters, I'm not a fan of AI-based ordering systems at a drive-thru. It always feel so impersonal and I feel like I have to match the robot voice to make sure it understands me. That said my order was pretty basic, so the process was similarly basic. Although when I arrived at the window, no one greeted me or informed me that it would take longer than usual to make my food. I don't mind waiting (Habit Burger typically takes a while too) but I did mind not being greeted when I pulled up, even with something as generic as "we're working on it." But the two main reasons I won't be returning is the food and the price. Nothing was seasoned! The chili was bland, the hotdog was probably just sitting in a warmer and the fries were barely salted. Everything just tasted bland and flavorless. I was also taken aback by the hefty price tag. My 2 chili-cheese dogs, medium fry and drink came to nearly $20! I'm not against paying that much for fast food but it should be worthy of the price tag. It wasn't. The upgrade to the all beef hotdog didn't help either as the normal price for that meal was just under $12, so part of the price issue is on me but. I also don't believe that a simple upgrade like would increase the price by nearly 40%. I know it's not a one-to-one comparison, but it's astonishing that Weinerschnitzel can charge that much for 2 hotdogs when Costco gives you a gigantic beef hotdog and a large drink for $1.50. And of course I could buy all these ingredients for less at the grocery store and have leftovers, so I know I'm mostly paying for convenience but nearly $20 for an unseasoned meal just isn't worth it. Not even at the original price of $12. In my opinion, the price vs. convenience ratio doesn't make Weinerschnitzel worth it, so you'd be better off buying hotdogs, buns, etc at the store and having a much better experience.
