I wish there was a way to pick 0 stars! 20 minute wait for a cheeseburger! then when I said never mind just give me money back .... the manager grabbed my sandwich off the prep/serve station that was sitting there for 10+ minutes and told me not to be rude! This is not my first visit or experience with this... I always give the benefit of doubt,,, but when it takes 20 mins to get a burger 10 or more times.... you got to stop going there! read more

I wasn't going to write a bad review for this restaurant because I thought the owner handled my issues. But there was no refund issued to my card so here we go! I waited over 10 mins for my food. The woman who brought it to the car missed some items - and told me I didn't order them. When I showed her my receipt she yelled at me, snatched it from my hand, hitting my shoulder and cutting my hand. When I went in to complain I was yelled at again. DO NOT go here. I agree with many others. This location needs attention!! We got a milkshake and it wasn't even very cold...not sure how that happened! Then. I pointed out to my friend how gross the vanilla and chocolate custard machines looked, each with about a foot of custard sliding down, stationary and melting. To my dismay, I ordered a chocolate cone and the half scoop I was served was scooped out of that mess, already melting down the cone as it was handed to me. I asked the server if it was always done that way....'Yeah, it's freshly made.' The one person we dealt with was going through the motions and suffering through her work hours as best she could muster. A full drink had apparently been spilled in the aisle by tables in the dining area, and just left there for patrons to have to walk around. Spills around the drink machine were also on the floor. I'd suggest a higher up spend some time in this location to get it back on track, as I find it not representative of the Culver's stores I've visited. Horrible experience. I ordered two ice creams and it took over 12 minutes to get them after complaining. There response to the situation was mind boggling. The manager informed everyone in ear shot to lock the doors and keep the drive thru open. I don't think there was any one over the age of 21 working there. I witnessed several people walking out after she made that comment. Go elsewhere. read more

I don't think I've ever fallen in and out of love with a restaurant chain so fast before. When we first heard about this mid-west chain coming to Florida, we were excited. Our fist visit (to the Clermont location) was great and the food was excellent. However, every subsequent visit, the food just seems to get sloppier. I think they strive for upscale fast food (if there is such a thing), but our experience has been that it's just regular fast food with inflated prices. They literally just dumped our fries and cheese curds into our bag upside down at this location. So frustrating. read more

Ordered a fish sandwich. Sat down. Noticed the bun was burnt. Not just toasted, burnt. Fish was burnt too. Inedible. Mentioned it to a worker who said "Oh yeah, our toaster does that a lot. It's broke" and walked away. I walked it up to the manager who looked at it and said "Toaster's broken, guess I'll have to call a repairman. You want another one?" As if two burnt sandwiches are better than one. I asked for a refund, "nope", not an option. Told the manager "I guess you've lost two customers tonight." Manager gets up, and in a frustrated huff hands me a card for a free meal next time. No apology, no kindness. Me noticing that I paid for inedible food was an obvious inconvenience for them. Worst dine in experience in my life... my family and I walked into the restaurant we're not greeted by the cash registers and walk up to order to be stared at with a blank face. Ordered our food and sat down at the table to wait. When our food was delivered to us she rudely pushed our stuff out of the way when we were clearly making space for the food to be sat down. They forgot the ice cream so I had to get up and prove I bought ice cream to finally receive it. Got up to get honey mustard from the front and was ignored by 6 employees before being asked if I have been helped which I answered no to. Never dining here again, food is tasteless now..sad because this place used to be awesome with amazing customer service. If you're in the mood to spend your money and not get any food at all and then get what you ordered 20 minutes later (Surprise! It's still not!), then this Culver's is the place for you. Now I don't really understand the point of drive thru's where you simply wait as long as you would have had you had gone inside, but I forgive such locations when the process works. Unfortunately, there appears to be no process here at Culver's. The request is simple - a burger and a side. No drink. Thank you, I'll take my number to put on my dash and wait for you. And wait. And wait. Then watch the cars behind me get food. Then give up and go inside to an atmosphere of pure chaos - an endless purgatory of waiting where separate lines form for both ordering and lost or mistaken orders. The guy at the cash register was helpful. "Yes, it's coming right up. They're still cooking it." Followed shortly from another person, "No, it's not. What did you order?" Turns out they couldn't find me in the running car, in direct eyesight from the door, with the prominently placed number on the dash. The solution was to hand my order to someone else and walk off which apparently happened. So after getting the story, I received my newly made order, an apology, and went on my way. Unfortunately, my "fixed" order of a burger and side transformed into a patty melt, chili,and 2 orders of fries by the time I got home. Curse you Culver's! Food and ice cream were good as usual. But the staff was exceptionally poor. They forgot parts of 3 orders while we were there. Time was about 1:45pm on Thursday. People missing drinks from drive thru orders, our dining-in order was missing the fries and a table next to us had the same problem. read more

We went here late on Valentine's Day and the place was packed. It took a good 20 minutes to get our meal, and then they forgot something. My cashew chicken salad was pretty good, had a lot of cashews (maybe 1/2 c) and the greens were fresh. My hubby's Swiss mushroom burger didn't look like the picture on the menu but it had a nice soft bun and a generous serving of mushrooms and cheese. The custard here is terrific!!! The store was quite clean, as were the restrooms. I'd come here again but not if I'm in a hurry. read more

I heard a lot about Culver's, and I tried it for lunch. The menu looked good, and I saw the fried chicken on the menu and thought I would try that. It is a burger place, but it has a good menu and very nice selection. Anyway, I ordered the fried chicken with fries and green beans. Over all, the food was wholesome and good, but bland. The french fries were excellent. Crispy crinkled fries. Wonderful! The fried chicken was bland, and not notable. The presentation was very nice, on a nice plastic plate with a nice clear plastic cover. The value was very good for the quality, even if the food I had was bland. My review centers on service. The counter staff was not interested in taking my order. They were rude in taking my order, and were more interested in talk to each other. To my order taker's credit, she did get the order right. However, she had no idea about the food. I asked her how the green beans were prepared, and she had no clue (they were boiled with onions. They were OK, but a little bacon would have helped.) She did not say thank you, or anything else at the conclusion of taking the order. She just gave me my receipt and looked way. I was pretty unhappy at this point. I would have written this off as just one rude counter person, but the entire counter staff was spending more time talking to each other, rather than waiting on customers.. Once my order was ready, and different counter person gave me my order (my counter person was too busy talking to other Culver's personnel.) That counter person was nice, and thanked me. I ordered to go, so I headed to my car. I should have checked the order first. The order was fine. However, there was no fork or napkins in the bag. So, back in I go to get a fork. No one knew where the forks were! I did not expect to eat green beans with my fingers. After a lot of discussion, I got my fork, and was told to get napkins from the counter near the trash cans. Really? They had no napkins behind he counter? At that point, I was done, and just got my napkins, and left. So, the food is nicely presented, wholesome and fresh and bland. The service was miserable. So, I doubt I will go back for a while. Perhaps with the passing of time, they will have trained the staff, or the staff will turn over, and they will have friendly people at the counter. read more

This was my first time at a Culvers. My husband has been non stop talking about your butter burgers and he was right about everything- your food, your employees and your bath rooms!!! You're staff was was so helpful and pleasant and those burgers - OMG!! I've stopped going to fast food places , mostly because of the unkept, rude employees but I've seen the light at Culvers. Their website says they are open until 10 PM and when we got to the drive thru' at 9:45, there was a typewritten paper that said that the were open until 10, however no one acknowledged that we were there. After I honked the horn they came onto the speaker & said "we're closed." I said it's only quarter to10 she said "we changed our hours, we close at 9". Review is for the custard: we enjoyed Culver's custard a couple times on our vacation in Sarasota. Vast selection of toppings and mix ins. Very reasonable prices. The custard is so rich and creamy! I am thankful that they are not located where I live or I would have a Culver's habit! My favorite: cement mixer with chocolate custard, peanut butter, and Reese's peanut butter cups. read more

Now that we are not "in season" in Sarasota they are much better! During the on-season place gets too busy, and cashiers/servers seem to be running the show as Management is lacking! I've tried their Burgers and still like Five Guys better! They make a really good fish sandwich and value meal! Reuben Sandwich is very good too! As is their Supreme Chili! Prices reasonable for what you get! Huge variety of Custard flavors! Their "Concrete" is really good as is their lemon ices! I've had their fried chicken at its best it's very good and at its worst an off brand TV dinner is better! They are not consistent in food or service that's their major problem;however in the off season they do a much better job! Maybe as they are open longer they will grown into themselves! I visited this fast food chain 3 times at two differant locations and it is very consistent. My experience was really good. The food quality and service is well above any of the other chains. I personally stopped going to fast food places because they all seem to be jumping on the healthy choice band wagon and the trade off is the taste of the food. A good burger is supposed to be greasy, that's where the flavor comes from. Fast food is supposed to be a treat not a nutritional staple. That being said, they do have a few healthy items on the menu and it is reasonably priced. I think Mc, the King, and Wendy should take a better look at their product line and food quality. We stopped for burgers thought it was a restaurant instead it was a fast food joint. The burgers were the worst greasy thin sliced scrapple instead of burgers. They were paper thin and full of grease. Very disappointed will not go back for burgers read more

Even though this is fast food, the food is fresh and the shakes are beyond compare. The cheese curds are a top item on the menu.

Culvers in the Midwest is SOO good. This one....well, the food is good, but the service is SEVERELY lacking. On two separate occasions, I've been served the wrong order after waiting 20+ minutes - and there seems to be a disconnect between the management and staff (yelling at your staff in front of customers is not okay). Tried the new Culver's on the South Trail for a quick lunch. It is decidedly the one-step-above-MacDonald's fast food place to go. They use the concept of you ordering like a fast food place, but then you find a table, get seated and wait for the staff to bring the food to you. The food is definitely in synch with the one-step-above concept (obviously prepared to order and quite tasty). Only negative: While the staff is super friendly and check to see that all is O.K. constantly, they unfortunately don't seem to be able to wipe down and clean tables at the same time. Many were obviously waiting for that damp cloth while we were there. read more

Amazing custard and root beer. 1 step above fast food. Quick, clean, and easy. I did not appreciate when multiple managers treated the employees harshly openly in front of my group. They yelled and scolded them, right in front of us. If you work here, go find a job that will respect you as a person. If you manage here, shame on you. I to have had trouble here with the wait staff like they don't care and could care less of you and spending your money here I got half a order after standing in line for 29mins for a to go order and when I came back to tell them I only got half my order the manager jump on me for asking for my order and then she offered to give it to me for free no thanks I even called the customer serv. # and no one ever called me back on the matter so I guess no cares there at that end either I wont be back. read more

This Culver's never ceases to amaze. My food is always correct, fresh, and hot. The service is quick and their team is fantastic. This is my go to fast food restaurant and my go to Culvers. I highly recommend this Culvers specifically! The price is perfect for the quality of food. Nice little chain restaurant, comparable to PDQ, but much, much better. Do not leave here without trying a concrete mixer, shake or sundae with their homemade chocolate or vanilla custard & dozens of mix-ins. Eat your heart out DQ. Also great hamburgers & chicken tenders, better fries than any of the fast food places, & other novelties like shaved prime rib, cod filet, pork tenderloin, pot roast, fried shrimp, & grilled chicken. We have had terrible luck with the drive thru service. Every time they miss something with our order or give us the wrong item. Yesterday we ordered the snack packs which we paid for and received the kids meals which cost more and did not want the 'free custard'. I asked for a refund and never got it. Went home and filled out the survey and never got a response. Called Culver's customer service and got lip service for three times bad service at the drive thru. We're done. read more

Very disappointed that they stopped doing special pricing on the custard pints. A few years ago they we $2.00 on Tuesday's and then they increased them to $2.50. Informed today that they no longer do this and asked when they stopped we were simply told awhile ago with no other explanation. read more

Appears the "newer" Culver's hasn't made the board yet so be aware this review is for the Tamiami Trail location. First, NEVER use the drive thru. When you order you are given a number and asked to drive forward. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of forward to drive forward to and drivers get testy quickly. Orders are slow and NEVER drive away until you check your order completely. That means opening the burger box to see if it has the toppings you asked for. As for the food: use a bib. The Butter Burgers are either dripping butter or grease but regardless, they drip. I like the double mushroom burger best; but they have a fairly extensive menu offering fish to pot roast so you don't have to have a burger. The fries are good but the portion is a bit skimpy. The custard is pretty good and I would return for the custard. read more

This is a great place to eat. A slight mistake was made on one of our burgers. I was in a party of about 8. As soon as i took my burger up to the counter, a new burger was made and I was given free ice cream. First experience with Culvers and for "fast food" really impressed. Extensive menu and clean surroundings including the help. The help was almost over friendly coming to our table several times. A staff member also offered to take the trash. The food was on the better than average, very tasty but a little greasy which why it was so good. The food also seemed very fresh and not cooked from frozen. Greasy good...healthy maybe not so good but will we go back...YOU BET! read more

Food is okay. Kind of on the high end of pricing for a fast food chain. Burgers look and smell amazing. A lil bland but wonderful with sauce. Service isnt great, but when they mess it up they are willing to fix the problem and try again (even though sometimes it is still wrong the 2nd time lol) .. only suggestion is never drive off without checking food if you are picky! read more
