I ordered cheese curds - she offered marinara sauce because it was amazing - so I added to the order. 32 minutes later I walked in to ask if I could have my order. Left 38 mins after ordering. The place was crowded and a lot of people were eating there. Which seemed to be a good sign that the food would be enjoyable. Unfortunately it was not, my bacon was completely flimsy and soggy like it wasn't cooked and my burger is burnt to a crisp. Waiting a long time for a disappointment is never fun, especially when it cost you $14. I don't know if they were overwhelmed by the business or if this is a regular occurrence. We both opted for a double butter burger with bacon, our sides were different, He wanted crinkle fries and I wanted cheese curds. The best of both worlds... The food was good, the service to the table was pretty awesome. Honestly, I love that everything is fresh and people seem happy in the store. There doesn't seem to be a down face in the joint. I was totally excited for the opening for this place as Culver chains I starting to pop up around the bay area but had no idea of what it was. At Culver's, every order is made fresh and I always see the different milkshake options which caught my eye so I decided to give it a shot. I ordered their best seller burger with two patties which reminded me of a steak & shake burger but just slightly larger. The bun had a nice crisp to it which I enjoyed and made the burger totally awesome! When the cashier asked what side I wanted, the cheese curds DEF stuck out as I had no idea what they were and me being a big cheese fan I wanted to try. Lets just say I made the right choice as im still craving the cheese curds as I type! Since Culver's is a chain based from Wisconsin, you know that they must produce a good cheese curd product or else their fellow cheese heads would run them to the ground! Not getting CHEESE CURDS with every order should be considered a SIN! I liked the milkshake options so I was totally happy when I was able to order my favorite combo in the world, chocolate oreo. By sheer luck, I saw a billboard for Culvers. It looked spectacular (didn't hurt I was hungry). I pulled a left a block later (waiting for heavy traffic on Hillsborough to pass) into the brand new (since February) facility. It looked great outside and inside when I finally arrived from the spacious parking lot. The very helpful young man behind the counter gave me a run down of the menu. I went with the butter burger, onion rings and house made root beer. The food was delicious. As the statement on the wall states short,sweet and to the point: Fads come and go, tastes change but nothing will ever beat the butterburger, fries and shake. The butterburger was delicious. The buttered bun, the amazing melted American cheese, the two small patties - as good as fast food could be. In and Out Burger, the Shake Shake and Culvers are very close in my mind in terms of excellence. The onion rings were great. The root beer as good as Stewards from back in the day. I can't believe I'm giving a burger chain 5 stars but they deserve every single one of them! read more

My wife and I stopped in at this Culver's location on a Sunday afternoon for a bit of the ol' custard and were really surprised at the level of customer service that we received. As we walked in the door, one of the employees was walking out, and as he did he held the door open for us and greeted us with a nice smile. We took a minute or two looking at the menu (there was no one in front of us) and the same employee walked behind the register to take our order. We both ordered a mini custard, got a number, and went to our seat. That same employee (even though there were others working in the area) put our order together and personally brought it to our table. We know that it's not something that he had to do, but it was just nice to see a smiling, friendly face throughout the entire experience. The custard itself was fantastic, and we relished every minute of it (we were rewarding ourselves after a two-mile hike). I've been to this location one other time before, and we had a positive experience that time as well, even though the restaurant was much more crowded than it was our most recent visit. We live close to this location so we'll be back for sure! read more

I've been wanting to stop by since the opening. But I am not big on fast food so I was a bit skeptical. After leaving the gym today (yes the gym,don't judge). Culvers appeared on the drive home. What better day to stop and grab a bite to eat. I thoroughly enjoyed the warm welcome and extremely clean interior. The staff all greeted us separately, each seeming quite genuine. We took a few moments to view the menu. I settled on the mushroom melt (I can't remember it's exact name). I grabbed a seat outside and waited for the food to be delivered. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised by it's delicious presentation. I truly wanted to dive right in. The burger was sooo juicy and fresh. Every part was cooked to perfection. The burger tasted like a Swiss I would make at home. The fries were extra crispy and they gave me a variety of dipping sauces. Now I am a girl who loves to cook at home but the next time I'm feeling fast food I won't go straight for my go to PDQ. I'll have to flip on it and decide between there and Culvers!!! The fish was excellent; I had the dinner, but the sandwich looked good too. It was hot and flaky with crispy outer coating. The clam chowder was thick and flavorful. It's fast foodish; but nothing tastes fast food. Save room for the custard as it's definitely the highlight of the trip for my family. I think the most impressive part of this Culver's was the service. The owner came out to greet us, shake our hands, and personally walk us through the menu and a few recommendations. He then offered us each custard samples and checked on us while we were dining. We were both pleased and impressed. They were slammed busy during dinner hours, but they all worked so well under who I believe was the manager's superb leadership! I ordered my food, stood there for about 15 minutes, my mom got her food and then when I asked the gentleman behind the counter were mine order was he proceeded to tell me that they were still making it. After 20 minutes of being in the restaurant waiting for my food I finally got upset and went up to the gentleman named Brandon again and asked what was going on with my order. He then proceeded to tell me that there was no order under that number and they did not even have the pretzel bites that I had ordered. I was not advised this when I ordered my food so at this time I got very upset and told them never mind and walked out. Ok, I will start by saying this place is the Rolls Royce of Fast Food. SO...if you are a stuck-up yuppie who calls people "obese mouth-breathers" like the nonsensical wannabe intellectual who wrote the initial 1-Star review here, I would recommend you stop reading now. The food here by Fast Food standards is superb. The Fried Chicken is superior to KFC and at least on par with Popeye's. The Hamburgers are vastly superior to McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's or anyone else. The french fries where McDonalds usually dominates? Even that is a slight edge to Culver's where the french fries are superb. And the Ice Cream? Absolutely outstanding by Fast Food standards. Relative to other Fast Food places, Culver's wins on every front. Are there negatives? Well, at this particular store the people working the front counter are still learning and have a LONG way to go. Making up for the fact is one of the most attentive store managers I have ever seen. The guy never sat still the whole time we were there. He was either talking to customers or riding herd over his employees in a positive but firm fashion. So unless you are one of these New Age, 21st Century type who gains his self-validation by being a "foodie snob" it's a good bet that you will love Culver's as a quick, cheap option that is light years ahead of the other traditional Fast Food options. read more

I went to Culver's tonight via the drive through. Their entrance to turn into the establishment is quite dark & I missed it on my fisrt pass. I am not a fast food snob, but I seldom eat it for a variety of reasons. Culver's is new, offered dinners & diversity, so I gave it a try. I got 2 roast beef dinners, 1 with gravey & 1 withoit. The sides were mashed potatoes, cheese curds, green beans & a chocolate shake. At the drive through some items have a calorie amount listed, like milkshake, short, 580. I inquired about a strawberry smoothie & it was almost 800 calories, there wasn't much to think about, I passed on the smoothie. The roast beef dinners came with 4-5 ounces of good, tender pot roast on a piece of bread. It was quite tasty for fast food or a diner atmosphere. The mashed potatoes are bland & add nothing to the meal, but if mixed with the smooth gravey, makes a fair accompaniment. The chest curds had too much dough for my tastes, so I removed it. Now for the shocker the green beans had chopped onion & if they weren't fresh, they certainally tasted fresh, very good. They also had a white run of the mill dinner roll on the plate. The milkshake is better than most fast food joints. After you order and pay, they give you a display number and you pull around front. They were quite slow tonight. I would time from the time I placed my order, till it was delivered to my car at about 6 minutes. That is not a bad time to have a custom dinner plate made up to go. Total for 2 meals, with 2 sides & a milkshake $20.30, not bad, again comparing the price to a diner. What's a girl to do? Just needed a quick MEAL fix & it did the trick. read more

Culver's is definitely on the top of my list when it comes to fast food, as it is much nicer than most fast food places. I've had both their burger and chicken sandwich and have been pleased both times. I'm not a huge fan of crinkle fries but they have pretty good ones with not too much salt. Everything is always cooked well and very hot when it arrives. The menu is very overwhelming when you walk in as they have a lot to choose from. Everything at Culver's is done right and I always leave full and happy. It's a solid restaurant with decent pricing along with a great selection. read more

I used to live in Wisconsin as a kiddo, this was so nostalgic. The burger literally brought tears to my eyes.. it was just the same as 30 years ago. The staff here was polite and friendly. My kid said this place looked like an upscale fast food restaurant, and he was on target. New, nice, clean, food delivered to your table on trays and self-cleaning on departure. The young man who took our order was not familiar with many of the menu items, and couldn't offer much advice on what to try. So I had the crispy chicken sandwich "value basket" with onion rings and a soda. My kid had the chicken tenders value basket with fries and a drink. I spent about $18 for the two meals. My kid liked the chicken tenders and fries, and I really liked the chicken sandwich...the chicken was really good (not super crispy, but the I liked the breading anyhow), the lettuce and tomato were decent (fresh, but not yet completely ripe), the bun tasted good, and the barbecue sauce (on the side) was dark and tangy. The onion rings were just so-so, and the french fries were a little undercooked for my liking but still not bad. I had a diet root beer (my favorite soda beverage), which is "Culver's signature root beer," and I really didn't care for it all.
