First time at a Cupbop Korean BBQ. Wanted to try something different and was not disappointed. Offspring and I had a weekend lunch. You order your food at the counter. Service staff were helpful. two portion sized options are provided. You can have your choice of rice, noodles or chopped cabbage or all three. Dependent upon your selected portion size, you can order your protein options. For small portion you get one protein choice. For the larger portion size you get two protein choices. You can then choose your sauce and heat options. I had the large portion size with cabbage and noodles with a spicy pork and BBQ chicken. I opted for the sweet sauce at level 1 and a hot sauce level 7. Food was tasty and filling. They also have a number of sides. Large entry is 11.95 and small portion is 7.19. Overall tasty fast food, service was good. Was a pleasant dining experience. Not a go to dining destination for me but different if looking for a tasty fast food option. read more

Cupbop is located in the Desert Ridge Marketplace. Even though the sign said that they were closed on Sundays, they were open to my delight. I decided on an order of Mandoo and Cupbop noodles. Staff were done they gave me an extra mandoo. Everything was very tasty. A large family came in with children. They were letting their children run crazy inside. Once the kids started screaming it was time to leave. The party didn't seem phased by anything. I know this is a casual restaurant. I visited this Cupbop today and had a pretty good experience. I planned on eating my Cupbop in the restaurant, but their air conditioning was out, so that was not happening. I ordered the Cupbop with Rock chicken and Mandoo. I chose level two for my spice. It took me about 20 minutes to get home from the restaurant and to get ready to eat the meal. Despite the journey home, the food was still somewhat warm which impressed me. It tasted great as well and was full of flavor and toppings. I can't get enough of Cupbop! read more

Kai at the counter was such a sweetheart. So warm, friendly and helpful! It was my first time here and he let me canoe a few proteins so I could make the best choice. Service was so friendly. The only downside was that the floors were super sticky. Everything else looked pretty clean. I got the "family pack" so we could try a few different items. The fried mandoo was good. It tasted pretty similar to bibigo dumplings, but they definitely weren't terrible. The fried tofu "doochi bop" didn't have a lot of flavor, but let's be honest, fried tofu rarely has a lot of flavor, it mostly picks up whatever sauce you have with it. The Korean beef "B Bop" was definitely good, 10/10 would have that again. It was nicely seasoned and tender, as bulgogi should be. The Korean fried chicken "ugly bop" was pretty good. I didn't love the batter, but it was decent. The Korean bbq chicken "kko kko bop" had a nice flavor, it wasn't overly salty and had a good marinade. I like how the sweet potato noodles are included. I love sweet potato noods. So good. You can get different spice levels. I went with 5 since I'd never been there, except I went with a 6 on the doochi. The lady there said that she noticed a lot of people up the spice with the doochi. Would I come here again? Definitely. Just not super soon since it's not that close to me, maybe to a different location since other locations are closer. read more

I've been here several times before and every time I've loved it! The food is delicious and warm. I usually get the mandoo bop which is delicious but I also like the krunch bop and and kko kko bop. The spice level can be adjusted from 1 to 10 so it's a great place for people who like really spicy food AND for people who don't handle spice well. The food was alright as always and wanted to eat out for valentines something simple. Came in and was greeted nicely, however tonight the atmosphere was feeling off. The one lady helping me and my friends at the counter got handed some chicken from the two young cooks from the back and she treated them with utter disrespect. It made my friends and I super uncomfortable. We overheard a couple of other guests saying that these young cooks don't get paid enough to get yelled and humiliated in front of guests who were dining in. Very disappointed in how someone can treat other staff so low. You guys should teach basic staffing 101 to treating others nicely even if food doesn't come out as perfect as you want. Aloha Hawaiians, I Just wanted to give a shout out to the crew at this establishment. Kind courteous and some tasty vittles. Here's a riddle what happens when a frog double parks? He gets toad. Quick tip don't double park while picking up your stuff you could get towed. This is a very, very, very very busy shopping complex , but they have lots of parking. Maybe that should be a pro tip. Park far and walk it's worth it don't get towed. I recommend noodles noodles and more noodles and then order side orders of noodles. I love sweet and savory so when I get sauced I order combos of 1 and 5. Explore different levels of heat and find out what number sauce is your favorite. Next time I'm going to go for levels one Unbelievable memories and seven. Come in and taste the flavors of all of the sauces and all of the Asian dishes. I guarantee you will find one that will be your favorite. Mine is the Mondu barbecue chicken combo with a side order of noodles and kimchi. I am a first timer/out of towner. My wife and I went here due to its close proximity to the AMC. I was a little skeptical of fast-food Korean in a Cup but willing to give it a go. First thing I notice, after the door that needs repair, is that it is a 'workaurant' style eatery, not my favorite. We walk up to the counter and are immediately greeted by the lady working. We let her know that we needed time as we were first-timers. She gave us the scoop on their menu and let us know that the beef was the freshest as she had just prepared it. We soon gave her our orders. A no-brained, we both had the beef. My wife ordered a small Kids Beef Bop Meal at her preferred level and I had the same though Regular size Beef Bop meal. The meals come with Mandoo on the side (potstickers) and a sauce for them and a refillable drink. We selected our table, two tables down from the serving counter and two away from the one other couple that was eating there. The meal comes with rice, cabbage, and sweet potato noodles and your choice of protein, topped with a sauce at your level of heat. I say the food was good though it could have been heat hotter, especially the potstickers. We both finished our portions and the potstickers. I would go back on the merit of the food and the taste but maybe would take it to-go on a warmer day. I have to add that my first inclination was to order the pork but on seeing it, it was looking a little dry. I liked the combo of the foods that were in the bowl. I was not over pleased with the level of cleanliness in the restaurant. I am not sure that that was a priority here. The restroom was clearly not very clean and the urinal was out of order and may have been for a while. One out of the three employees seemed to be concerned about their appearance and the other two conducted themselves very nonchalantly as though there were no customers in the dining room. I don't recall if there was some kind of uniform. So, while we were eating it must have been break time as one of the men came out of the back with food and sat in the table right next to us. Soon the other worker sat down as well then the lady, who must have been the manager, began letting the two young men know that they would have to do an excellent job closing tonight since the opener would be by himself in the morning and she would be having surgery. She then began to let them know that their work of late had not been up to par, continuing on letting them know that this was not the level of performance that she had taught them in training. I thought that a staff meeting might have been done away from the customers. All in all, it was an OK experience. A local GM might want to swing through the place and recommend a few changes to make the place better. read more

I just started the carnivore diet. For reference, the carnivore diet is 100 percent meat. I saw this place and thought it would literally be BBQ in a cup. I ask for ONLY meat and he says no problem. He than proceeds to fill the cup with the gross slimy noodles that look like worms. I got about a teaspoon of meat and paid $16.00 for it. The meat was pretty good, but he literally gave me a spoonful compared to the tons of noodles he added without my permission. I had to throw the noodles out. I must have mentioned that I wanted meat only about 10 times. He wasn't listening. It was my first time and I was also very confused by the sauces. He was very rude. Poor customer service. Never been here before, got a free coupon a while ago so I decided to try it. I walk in, nobody was wearing any sort of uniform so I was a bit sketched out but I tried and order my bowl (which they said they didn't have any beef available- only burnt crumbs) and when I get to the register the bigger white lady with the worst customer service denied my free coupon bc it wasn't signed in the back. How is that my fault that the person who gave it to me didn't sign it? Cupbop isn't welcoming at all. My husband's Korean and saw this on Shark Tank and wanted to try it. He thought because the founders were Korean, it'd be good. I got the B Bop which is beef. My husband got the orange chicken beef combo. I took two bites and spit both out. It tasted like a dumpster! The sauce was really weird and the meat didn't taste like beef. It tasted like rotten game. My husband said his was bad too. He rated it a 3 out of 10, which is extremely generous because he got a stomachache as he was eating it. I can hear the diarrhea as I type. By far the most disgusting Korean food I've ever tasted!! I can usually force myself to eat food I don't like, but I couldn't take a third bite of this. Meal comes in a cup the size of a large size yogurt place, with rice, noodles and your choice of protein or choice. Ordered the pot stickers which were nice and crunchy outside and pretty good tasting inside, with dipping sauces. Also ordered the combination 2 item with Korean Fried Chicken and Beef, I believe was their version of Bulgogi. Chicken were chunks of breaded chicken, sauce helped out but a bit dry. Beef was good, I liked the noodles, kind of like a thin rice noodle. Was pretty good, more food than it looks like and a nice change from burgers and pizza. The service was amazing! All the employees were super kind and very friendly. We laughed so much with the employees. Very quick and very attentive as to what you want. You walk in and there's plenty of room. The menu is on the window before entering and on 2 screens above the register. When you look at the menu it is kinda confusing you don't really know what you're getting until you get the bowl. The names of the plates are funny and definitely to the point. (I.e: Ko Ko Bop, Ugly Bap.) They have a spicy level, and they are true to the spiciness. They have a spicy challenge to eat the level 10 spicy. You get a Polaroid on the wall if you accomplish the challenge. They did have sides of Mandoo, and Kimchi. The kimchi is so good! I loved it. The mandoo not a big fan. It was hard and dry. But other than that; I wish there was more meat. I was overwhelmed with glass noodles, hardly any veggies except the cabbage. read more

I had an incredibly disappointing experience today. When I went in, I was told they were out of their usual bowls and were using smaller containers instead. However, after seeing the portions given to the customers before me, I didn't expect it to be an issue. Unfortunately, the woman behind the counter served me a very small portion of food, which was confusing in comparison to what others were receiving. To make matters worse, there was another employee behind her who was serving the people behind me with regular portions. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, the employee continued to make inappropriate comments throughout the transaction. She repeatedly laughed about the size of the chicken "balls", saying they were the biggest she'd ever seen, and joked about how inappropriate the rest of the staff is. I felt uncomfortable and found her comments completely unprofessional, especially considering she was speaking to a complete stranger while serving what would've been my food. When I got to the register, I was charged $13 for what looked like about half the amount of food I'd seen others receive. I questioned the price, confirming that I was being charged for a full portion despite the small amount I was served. She acknowledged that the portion was small and laughed again. After the inappropriate comments and poor service, I decided to walk away. I ended up going next door to Panda Express, where I got twice the amount of food for just $9. I had high hopes... however... 1) If you have food allergies it is hard as their sauces are numbered and the ones at Desert Ridge are not the ones listed on the allergen menu they sent me.. so I'm hoping I don't get sick. The one sauce that said it had dairy, this location says they do not have. 2) The food definitely needs the extra sauce. Without it the meat and noodles are bland and flavorless. 3) I ordered over the phone for their grand opening BOGO and ordered 4 bowls with sauce on the side. For 4 bowls, I was given 3 small sides of sauce and I'm not as sure which ones are dairy free... So I made some sauce myself at home to put on it. 4) The side of kimchi is very small, as is the order of mandoo, for the price. The mandoo comes with soy sauce... not the typical mandoo sauce at most Korean restaurants. I'm hoping these tweaks will be ironed out at some point... but I'm not sure I willbe back.
