Great location, good happy hour. Would kind to see more food and mocktail options added to happy hour. Would also love if they'd bring nonalcoholic bubbles but they do have mocktail options available. I ordered a couple snacks while waiting for a friend. Started with happy hour Sotteok kochi. It was smothered in a spicy red hot sauce which I didn't love and the sausage tasted to me like a microwaved hotdog...maybe normal? ‍ I don't know. I did love the rice cake with it but wiped off the sauce to enjoy it. I also ordered a side of ramen noodles. That I loved but that's pretty standard. It was not flavored so I tailored it with soy sauce and lime juice. Would have loved a flavoring option even if just powdered chicken but made do :) Generous portion for a side which is great! Server Bella was so lovely, an absolute doll. She was running around quite a bit. The bar isn't designed to let her wander about efficiently.

My nephew wanted to come here for his birthday after having been before. I had no clue this place only served tapas. We went during their Sunday Happy Hour. Our server, Kellise, probably didn't spell her name right lol, was wonderful. She was friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was amazing and I will happily come back to this spot.

Looking for Korean bar food in Scottsdale? Head on over to Pocha 54 for some yummy eats! We arrive late on a weeknight and settled in for drinks and grub. This is tapas, so the dishes are smaller than a full entree, but they're still sizable. And most importantly, they are spicy! My favorite was the gochujang shrimp - grilled shrimp tossed in spicy gochujang sauce with scallions. Plump and juicy, sweet and spicy, I could just eat these and be happy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of screens playing sports and a cool, subdued vibe for a nice evening in north Phoenix.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place was a true gem!! We love Korean food and these tapas just hit!! We had the tofu, the crab salad and tteokbokki. We were full, the crab salad came first the other 2 things took more time. We also had Soju. The ambience is great and of course they play KPOP a lot. Our server was very attentive and the place wasn't that crowded because it was Sunday night. Will def come back

I finally got to check out Pocha 54....its been on my list for quite a while now. We went for happy Hour and it was great! Our serves Calyse was exceptional! The Brussels were our fave with the Kimchi Fried Rice a close 2nd. I can't wait to come back to try more.

Q: What did the fried rice say to the kimchi? A: Don't wok away from me! Kevin, the guy who brought us Zu Izakaya, Zu & Pocha, Bei, and other great eateries around the valley also brings us Pocha 54 Korean Tapas. We had just gotten done with the USA TODAY Wine & Food Experience when we wanted a bit of time to unwind before heading home. Having had this place on our radar for the longest time, the six of us popped in for some tapas despite being full of spirits and small bites. No regrets though because everything was amazing. I can't even begin to tell you what all was had but every plate was cleared and enjoyed. I especially liked the Gochujang Garlic Shrimp! This is a super cute place with ample patio seating. I'm not in this area often but I would definitely pop in again. Also to note, happy hour is daily from 4pm-6pm and 9pm-11pm. They also have all-day happy hour on Sundays and Tuesdays.

100% worth it!!!! Grace was our waitress and she was absolutely incredible recommending everything that was really good and then some. The food and soju was completely worth it. Managed to hit happy hour and try many different items which I recommend highly. We will be returning sometime soon!

This is one of my husband and I current favorite date spot to hit up. It's inviting, good vibes, and nice service. I don't have to get super dressed up, but feel like I'm a bit more upscale than chipotle or chilis (there is nothing wrong with these places either, but not my ideal date night). Here you have a menu of several different Korean tapas and it's perfect to order a few and share. Everything we've gotten has been very good and anything with the melted cheese is great, especially the corn and naan! We weren't the biggest fans of the spicy ramen, it tasted too similar to ramen I could get at the market, grocery store, or online. Seemed like a little spicier cup of noodles with different garnish. That is the only reason I give a 4/5 vs 5/5. Other than that, still a favorite spot to visit, for a good, fun and comfortable date night.

Came here for a date since it's one of the restaurants I haven't been to in High Street. My date made a reservation for 4pm on Sunday and we were the only ones in the restaurant for the first 30 min. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. We ordered 5 items and all were good. A little spicy for my taste and still good. As a thank you for making a reservation that manager gave us a complimentary mochi desert.

Loved it ! Much needed night spot with tapa style Korean bites. Excellent service and ambiance. Plentiful seating. Our favs were the wings, bulgogi, and mandu. And the shrimp! Must try place. Bonus: it has reverse HH!

Excellent variety of food & generous portion sizes. We sat outside and the outdoor barstool seating was great for the location on High Street. The shrimp, pork, and beef dishes were all flavorful. Recommend trying a hot pot with a couple other dishes to get a nice variety of flavors.

What a hidden gem! This Korean tapas place was soooooooo good. We tried several items from the happy hour menu. The chicken Mandu (pan fried dumplings were delicious and the sauce was great). We also enjoyed the padak (kind of like a chicken nugget with a nice sauce) and the tofu steak. The Korean spicy ramen was so good with the perfect level of spice. My husband enjoyed the bulgogi and rice. The service was super friendly and on top of everything with great recommendations. How did I not find this place earlier. Will be back!!

Came by on a Wednesday night around 7pm. Not busy at all as there were only a couple other occupied tables. Menu selection was smaller, but not bad for a tapas style establishment. Ordered quite a few items. Our favorites were the corn cheese with naan, padak, bulgogi mushroom pot, and the soy garlic chicken wings. Food quality and presentation were very nice and our service was stellar. Definitely enjoyed our experience here!

We seated ourselves at a booth since it wasn't quite busy and that just means more room for our food and drinks to spread out *teehee* The cocktails were amazing my cousin ordered the espresso martini which she loved they make the espresso fresh. I went with a gin cocktail that had coconut flavors something I would never consider with gin but if you read my reviews you know gin is my preferred spirit. It was so good! For two people we ordered three types of empanadas we probably could have gotten away with two flavors and maybe a lighter tapa or desert but really wanted to try the cheese and guava empanada and didn't want that to be a main option in case we didn't like it. Needless to say we really liked all three: picadillo, arroz con pollo and guava and cheese - the picadillo was the favorite however both for the inside flavor and the accompanying dip. Pricing is not bad I'd say the serving and size of the three empanadas for $14 is a great price.

Since then they have removed the plantain chips and still offer mashed plantains...and a very small serving. I ordered a cuban sandwich which was good but I guess I expected it to look more appealing on a plate such as with garnish. Since it was the middle of June it was already hot outside at a cool 105 degrees temperature. We were surprised to see the restaurant had the front door propped completely open letting the hot air into the restaurant. Since this is a small restaurant you really couldn't escape the heat. The heat unfortunately caused us to leave after a short while.

You can taste the quality in each ingredient and I appreciate that. My husband and I agreed that the Spanish octopus was our favorite dish. It was the best octopus I've had in a while, the char flavor and slight crisp was amazing. We enjoyed the creamy sauce, artichokes, and other veggies that came with this dish. The cauliflower and golden beets were incredible too. The chef told us that the Japanese sweet potato was one of the popular dishes, but out of everything we ordered, it was surprisingly my least favorite. It was still good but everything else tasted better to me. Pa'La is a bit pricey but the quality makes up for it. I would recommend this place for people who are visiting or for a date night!

The Papas Verde had an addicting tang from the tomatillo salsa but were brilliantly balanced out by the chorizo and asadero cheese. The shaved brussel salad could have used a little more date and chile to balance out the vinegar but I was pleased either way. The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. The Tlayuda was a little heavy on the lettuce, but the smoked pork and bean puree combo were so flavorful that it helped balance out the richness with texture and freshness. I also loved the crispy contrast from the fried tortilla. We ended with the Concha and Mango Sticky Rice ice cream which sounded pretty simple but was quite impressive in its own right. The ice cream was a touch too frozen, but it ended up working out well with the crunchy cornflake coating and lightly warmed, pillowy concha to make a really satisfying ending to our meal. Service was excellent and the patio was well-lit and had heaters ready for colder weather. Vecina is on the pricier side for sure, but you will not be disappointed.

That was the best part, the company! :) I went up to bar to order wine before happy hour ended. I asked which wines are on happy hour, was told any. I ordered one from the menu I had pulled up on my phone. Internet said listed that Pinot noir normally $10 per glass. I ordered two, one for myself and other for another friend who wasn't gonna make the HH cut off. Bartender poured the glasses, and I gave my card and he ran it, and then I saw it seems they were $10 a glass, which is same as the regular price listed on the Internet. So I don't know what happened. Either it wasn't on happy hour or the website is incorrect. Who knows. I was told there's no food coming out of the kitchen, however I could order a snack. I didn't even look at the snacks. The one person working the bar and dining area was pretty busy so didn't make sense to get too much ordered. I just decided if the kitchen wasn't open I would go elsewhere after my glass of wine. I was pretty hungry. Glad we had that cake! Maybe this is a cool spot, but that wasn't my experience so I don't think I'll drive over here again for this place specifically.

A few years ago we were introduced to Pa'La by one such friend and, as of writing, we have now introduced 5 different friends to this location as well. As far as this specific dinner I think Pa'La does a really good job of having inventive food combinations usually in small plate form. I always really enjoy the ability to order 4 or 5 different things just to try something new. On this evening we started with the Beef Tartar, the Asian BBQ pork belly, and the Japanese sweet potato. All 3 were delicious and easily able to be shared between 3 people. We transitioned into ordering the prime New York Strip and the Maitake mushroom to share. The steak had a very nice pungent but sweet glaze on it that went very well with the marbling of the cut. Finally, we had the strawberry chamomile tart which was a great way to cap off the evening! All in all a very nice meal, in a nice setting where we could all catch up for a few hours. Never once did we feel rushed or similar and our server was always very attentive. The cozy, intimate comfort of what used to be Coup des Tartes blended seamlessly with the deep, peaceful, gentle "love" you felt from House of Tricks into one calm, warm, easy spot. Farish House is a real, soul-warming experience across the board. The service, care, comfort, ambience, food, value and clear love they put into everything make Farish House our new favorite place. We walked through the front gate, up onto the front porch and inside where we took one of three small tables in the cozy front salon of this soul-warming 1899 French Bistro. *Food: we started with a bottle of Australian Cab. Shockingly good. And not crazy expensive, especially on Thursday when bottles are 30% off, it was an amazing deal. Turns out, the owner, Greg, was in the wine distribution business for several decades, curating wine programs for top Valley restaurants, so he really knows his stuff and their vast wine selection is amazing. We were offered a basket of truffle popcorn, mmm, salty, crunchy, and rich. We ordered the Chef's Selection Charcuterie and Warm Noble Baguette & Marinated Olives to get started. Both were beautifully curated, balanced, and incredibly high quality. The flavors and textures blended perfectly. with cheeses broken from large wheels, rather than cut and sliced, house-made pickled grapes, unique and unusual ingredients, smokey meats, compound butters, just awesome! We then moved into one of the cozy dining rooms and ordered the slow roasted Peposo Short Ribs and fingerling potatoes pan fried in duck fat served with Moroccan spiced aioli. Both were rich, warm and delicious. For dessert, and yes we thought we'd explode from all this food, we ordered a massive slice of bread pudding, some of the best I've ever had, rich, gooey and incredible. Along with that we ordered a beautiful Espresso Martini and an off-menu banana cream martini. Their drinks are not "poured" or mixed here, they're balanced and expertly crafted. This is French Bistro comfort food at its finest and it's unmistakeable. *Service: it just doesn't get better. Everyone working there is "family". And that's how they make you feel; like family, cared for, wanted, welcomed. Service isn't a choreographed masterpiece, no tuxedos, cloths draped over arms, napkins frantically re-folded when you step away, dishes served and cleared in unison. No, it's relaxed, warm, friendly, kind, like being at your grandmothers house and knowing you're surrounded by people who care. Met Greg and Katherine, the owners, and their daughter Alexandra and several other "family" members taking care of us. Their appreciation for your presence is unmistakable. *Ambience: it's just plain comfy, cozy, easy, relaxed, warm, deep, gentle, worn (in a good way), wise, and calm, that's the best I can describe it. Hard wood floors, cozy rooms, soft, warm lighting. It's a non-pretentious, French bistro that feels like the home of a favorite grandma or great aunt living in a warm family cottage in the outskirts of Paris. *Value: it's perfect. It's not ridiculously expensive like Kai, Brinkley's, Cafe Monarch, Christopher's, or French Laundry where you go, "okay, that was fun but we'll only do this very occasionally/rarely and it's probably worth it, but dang that was pricey!" No, Farish House is 100% value to experience, not cheap, but not overpriced, the balance is just right. It's a place you can go often, and we will. Yes, our meal with apps, drinks and dessert, some on happy hour and the Thursday wine special, was around $200. I'd happily say this experience was worth every penny. *Overall: I can't recommend Farish House highly enough. Parking is on the street or in a nearby lot, and that's a downtown thing. There's a small lot in back. The food, ambience, service, quality, and experience were stellar. I wish I could rate them 6 stars instead of just 5. I'll return often and highly recommend Farish House to everyone. I genuinely hope you enjoy as much as we did!
