I would give this place 3.5 stars really. Love to experience different foods- and this hit the spot but wasn't the "best". Have the website handy on your phone because you'll want to sort through pics of what each bop is. I tried the ugly pop bop with GF noodles and level 3 spice. The spice was actually more sweet and I prefer salty. Overall portion size was huge- you will get 2 full meals out of one bowl. My husband ordered the combo bop mixing spicy fried chicken and bbq chicken and level 9 spice. He says it was average at best but will try again. Cupbop is a great place for two things: 1) If you need mayonnaise. 2) If you follow the logic "all things mix in my stomach, so I might as well mix all the things before I eat it" Cupbop must get some serious discounts on mayo because they squirt so much of it on your food, it makes you feel like you specifically went out to eat mayo and you're getting a side of Korean food. For those who know, Bi Bim Bap is a Korean dish made up of rice, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, meat, maybe some strips of dried seaweed, with gochujang sauce... Japchae was not bad but at the end I think I just got tired of it. Could need a little more flavor and I did the level 5 spice which was like a spicy Mayo. Wow, we all have bad days and the gentlemen behind the counter was able to express this to his incoming coworkers. As this man was obviously not in the mood to BS, he responded professionally yet honestly, applying lite humor to keep positivity in front of customers and children. Then, instead of going to the 'back' to commiserate with coworkers, he proceeds to address his frustrations by doing good... checking on the customers, wish randoms happy Father's Day, and more. First, the store was super clean! The service was amazing, the men behind the counter were so considerate and even let me sample the protein before making my bowl. They even gave me a cup for water. I believe this eatery recently opened, hence the slow and inadequate service and food. I purchased the Rock Bop, for $10 I only had about 5 small fried chicken pieces in my bowl. The bowl was mostly filled with plain white rice and noodles, with some cabbage. $10 for the bowl and little amount of chicken is not worth the cost. read more

Your bowl kind of depends on who is working that day, we've had an employee add a tiny amount of noodles to a bowl and another that put only a few pieces of chicken in, while on other days they put a bunch of noodles/meat or they even it out how it should be. Sometime there is a wait, longest we've had to wait is about twenty minutes. I wish they had 3.5 starts...if so, I would have given them that extra 1/2 star. This place has potential. First, we are a Korean-American family (1 white guy and 1 Korean lady). I've eaten Korean food on a weekly basis for 40 years and my wife for her entire life. We cook it at home and eat something Korean on almost a daily occasion. Food was tasty. I had the spicy fried chicken. It was super, super salty but it tasted good. The chicken was much like the spicy chicken you would find at a fast food Chinese restaurant, not the famous and delicious fried chicken you expect from a Korean joint. Overall, the meat items were akin to a Panda Espress food quality with a new, Korean spin by putting it over rice, chopped cabbage, chap chae (sweet potato) noodles and adding a variety of sauces. Ordering...super confusing and I can't imagine what it would be like for someone not accustomed to Korean food would do. The whole setup was quite awkward. Sauces...the best word to describe the sauces was overload. It was like a sauce recipe when matching your desired spiceyness (2 squirts of this, a squirt of that, 3 squirts of this...etc, etc, etc.). In the end, if you ordered something at a higher spiceyness level, your food was darn near floating in sauce. It tasted good...and many people will like it...but I was expecting something not so saucy and more about the taste of the food. Interior...not very comfortable. We didn't connect with the "Shh, Just Eat" brand tag line at all. Maybe we are too old (late 50's). Decor was kind of childish. I don't think they spent a lot on design. But it was clean in there. Buffet food line concept where they put the bowl together for you as you point or agree to the bowl items Subway or Chipotle). This means they are holding food at temperature. The rice, chopped cabbage and noodles are likely pretty safe, but only time will tell (watch other's comments) if the meats and sauces are being swapped out and kept at temperatures that keep people from getting ill. We had NO problems at all (there were 4 of us). Only my irregular heart beat seemed to pick up from the heavy sodium blast...but next time I'll ask for less sauce. I should have known. We will go back. This will be a fast food Korean option for us...but when we want some great Korean taste...we will spend the extra money and go to a Korean market cafe or standard restaurant. You never know...the wet, saucy Korean bowl just might grow on us. Were not counting these guys out.. read more

Went here last night with my friends, and today I had to call out of work. Do what you will with that info. I waited so long for my food that they even gave it to me on the house, which was a nice gesture. But it was so weird in the store. Average, kitchen is good and meat is ok but it's not a place I would go out of my way for.

I used to go to this cupbop quite a bit once it opened up and it used to be pretty decent. I went recently and the food was barely edible. They were out of a lot of things that they claim they offer so I decided the get some mandoo and a rock bop. I started with the mandoo and they were ice cold and tasted like they had been left out for hours. I then moved on to the bowl and wow the fried chicken was as hard as a stone and was room temp which is 1. Not yummy and 2. Not safe for consumption. I ended up taking it home so I could heat it up because I'm not wasting $16 worth of food and when I dig in again I find HUGE pieces of cabbage that were also super hard to bite into and definitely should have been cut properly. All in all this place is in need of care from the employees or more importantly the management. If nothings is done I don't see this place making it another year in Desert Ridge. Sadly this will probably be last time dining with them. The staff is friendly but I think they forget that the food is supposed to be edible. read more

So disappointed ! I had wanted to love this place ! I really did . I had waited till I needed a good weekend to enjoy ! Unfortunately a lot of the reviews are correct . The sauce (no matter which bowl you get ) is the same mayo based sauce . The chicken bowl tasted like it was canned chicken (I almost thought I was eating tuna from the flavor ).. the beef bowl was slightly better .. and the fried chicken was probably the best of them all . But with all the same sauce and all the same flavor it was super bland . For a basic meal it will be ok here and there but definitely won't be a consistent order sadly read more
