I stopped in the other day to get some vegan cupcakes to bring to a dinner party. They had a large selection of flavors and the cupcakes all looked beautiful. The cupcakes tasted amazing, too! The cake part wasn't super-moist, so it held its shape and tasted great, but the frosting was the real star. The frosting on the lemon cupcake was intensely lemony, and the chocolate frosting was rich and smooth. I and the other non-vegans at the party couldn't tell that they were vegan, and our host was delighted to know that there is a bakery nearby that caters to her needs. It's wonderful to have a local business who caters to dairy-free. Having a young niece with a dairy allergy has made birthday celebrations a bit of a challenge. I was really excited to try this place! I ordered the dozen assorted cupcakes and chose a wide variety. The cupcakes are cute, but the taste wasn't the best. We tried the buttercream frosting and the cream cheese frosting. Buttercream frosting was a bit sweet, I preferred the cream cheese. We ordered for the day before the party and put the cupcakes in the fridge. Would recommend taking them out for about an hour so the frosting softens up. TBH the cupcakes were good for allergen friendly cupcakes but if you don't have any allergies then the cupcakes just don't compare to regular ones. I would consider ordering from them again if I needed allergen friendly cupcakes. Otherwise likely would not choose this bakery if I need regular old cupcakes. This place is sooooo star worthy!!! I wish I could give Cupcake Therapy 100 stars!!! That's how amazing they are!!! I ordered about 4+ dozen cupcakes for my son's FIRST Birthday Party, and they were extremely popular. The highlight of the party ... aside from my son of course. :) I got a variety of them and got half of them with customized cake toppers (pix of my son). They, honestly, could not have turned out better. Not only were they sooooo cute, they were also extremelyyyyy yummmy. I also got some mini vegan ones too, for the kiddos with allergies, and you know what ... you couldn't even tell they were vegan ... at all. If I had any cons, it would be for lack of communication ... and price. Communication could definitely be improved in that ... although I got a generic confirmation email, I never really felt that small, local business feel. I always kept being like ... ugh, I hope they show up and look ok. It would have been so nice to get some updates on my order, especially since it was a bigger order. As for the price, not sure how much something like this is really supposed to cost, but it definitely seemed overly expensive to me. I first had these cupcakes at a major event, and I was so excited to learn it was a black woman owned business. I have been spreading the word ever since. My friend had these delivered for a party yesterday and they came out great. It was refreshing to see an assortment of gluten free flavors with different icing options and not just 1 or 2 flavors. Everyone at the party enjoyed the cupcakes, even though there as only one person with an allergy. The owner delivered the cupcakes and she was on time, even with the bad weather and confusing GPS instructions. I can't wait to order here again and am excited for her storefront to open. read more

I'm back, again, to clarify. I wish I didn't have to leave a * to initiate a review but won't let me proceed without giving @ least 1 *. In response to Shironda W's (owner of Cupcake Therapy) she needs to take responsibility & update her forms or state the delivery policy under "Terms" on website. I was not aware (not stated on the website) the driver is not allowed to leave delivery with "random people" @ any hospital. When I instructed delivery be left with a specific floor (the cupcakes were for everyone working on that floor), I should have been contacted prior to delivery if a specific name of someone to accept delivery was required (I was not contacted). These cupcakes were not for a patient (certainly would be a very hungry patient) but for the nursing/administrative staff. Number listed on form was general number for Beth Israel Deaconess, yes, but again, if driver asked where Stoneman 5 was there would not be a problem. Again, read the information prior to delivery so driver can have any questions clarified & this problem could have been a non-issue & delivery could have been made on date & time it was promised. Clearly not the fault of the purchaser that there is a flaw in the design/content of the on-line order form. Having my contact number listed only under the billing that driver does not have, not my fault. Very easy to blame the customer (who will NEVER be a repeat customer) instead of taking responsibility for your mistake. Regarding not receiving a voice mail from me. I called when I saw an email (again no phone call) stating deliver was not made. Had you took the time to call me right after notified delivery could not be initiated, perhaps you would have done the right thing and returned that day with cupcakes while they were fresh. I called during business hours in hopes of speaking to a human being but no answer so left a VM. Very easy to put blame on customer & not take responsibility. Certainly makes me appreciate companies that do right when an issues arises. Do better for the next person!!!!!! read more

I just had the BEST customer service from Cupcake Therapy. I was trying to arrange a cupcake selection and delivery for my child in a nearby location. From California I dialed the number, half expecting they wouldn't pick up, being buzy Keeblers baking and all. Come to find out the owner answered and could not have been kinder nor more helpful. It turned out we couldn't make the delivery happen by tomorrow (my bad for calling with such short notice) but I promised her we would order a cupcake delivery some other time. And we shall! I am very, very disappointed in customer service and response time. The website said the response should be within 48 hrs, but this has never happened. I made so many phone calls but never received a response. They say Saturday is open but never replied to my phone call. These are by far the best cupcakes! Hands down. Particularly if you are vegan, dairy free, etc. The owner is so friendly and kind. I have never tasted cupcakes more delicious than these-- and I have eaten cupcakes from all over the world. The cake is moist and flavorful; the frosting is always sweet, but not overwhelming. I can't comment on the cupcakes, as I canceled my order. I accidentally ordered for the wrong date and when I realized this, I sent an email to try to fix it right away. I was not able to get a full refund, but instead a 96% refund. I know it's only a few dollars difference. I would understand a partial refund if I tried to cancel the day before the cupcakes were to be made, but the delivery date was 2 wks out and it wasn't even 24 hrs since I made the purchase when I made the request to fix/cancel my mistake. read more
