The other reviews are trash this place is a hidden gem. I'm sure the locals don't review this place so people don't find out about it. We literally drive all the way from San Ramon to get my sons haircut here because he has 3 cowlicks and the gentleman working here is the ONLY hairdresser we have tried that can give him not just a decent haircut but an AMAZING haircut. As for my other son he has PIN straight hair - and every other place usually rushes his haircuts. This results in him having a very very bowl looking haircut. But not here - they take a solid 25-35 mins to cut my boys hair... going over their work again and again until it's perfection. Even the slightest annoyance they keep working on until it satisfies them - doesn't matter the age may it be my 4 year or an elderly! For the price - I don't think any other place can compare. Yes, you don't get the bells and whistles at these kids haircut places but I also don't want to pay $45 for one haircut. read more

This is my new favorite salon for nails. Last time I did my pedicure here it never chipped! I kept it on for like 5 weeks until my nails grew out. I got another pedicure today and it came out gorgeous! Not sure about haircuts though. read more

Review is for men's hair cut only. Had a terrible experience with the man that cut my hair. Gave him specific directions of how I wanted my hair and constantly kept asking me "is this okay?" with every buzz and every clip to the point that I felt uncomfortable. I felt very nervous if he knew what he's doing. Kept taking more and more off and then ask if this was short enough to the point that my response was "I don't have anymore to take off". I sensed he became very nervous when he started humming while working and kept correcting his work over and over. The whole hair cut took 45 minutes which was excessive for a fade and little trim on top. Didn't really cleaned or lined me up either, spent too much time trying to get the sides even. Also, had a gouge left on my right side from the fading. read more

The haircuts are inexpensive. And you get what you pay for. I've come here on and off for probably 15 years, back to when I was a kid and Mom was paying for it. And it's still the same owners and largely the same gals as they were back then. For men's clipper cuts, the ladies are very reliable. The cuts are even and tapered well, and they get you in and out quickly. Scissor cuts are where my brothers have seen a few issues. Hair often ends up being cut shorter than requested, due to uneven trimming the first time over. I've had a number of bad haircuts here, including a terrible one where I asked for a trim and layers but ended up with probably 4 inches off and a "bad hair year." If you're getting a trim, they can handle it. But don't ask for styling or you're risking being seriously disappointed. read more

I am never coming back. They did terrible job.... The person who was doing my pedicure was rude about my eyebrows, and she told me that they looked bad and that I should have them fixed. Seriously? that was rude of her.... and I would not trust her with my eyebrows...she only had like 4 eyebrow hairs on each eyebrow. read more

Loved this salon. Was thinking of getting my hair highlighted from a long time and my friend referred me this salon. It's a small salon but clean and well kept. I fixed my appointment on phone. I told the owner as what kind of color I was looking for. I wanted highlights which just blends in with my natural hair color and is not too loud ( dark/light ) . The ladies are "friendly" (ish) until there is a problem. They don't know the meaning of customer service. Also, parking is terrible. I've been here several times to get my nails done... It's really close to my office and I usually don't have time to go to my preferred nail tech but I will never go back. The work is always pretty crappy and they never listen. Instead of listening to what you want, they tell you what they're going to do. Even after you tell them you don't want that!!! Customer service here is pretty terrible. Maybe they just don't know what to do when they do something wrong. I got my nails done and the next day, they started separating from my nail bed... They literally started coming off my nail bed. I thought maybe she forgot to use the "bond"... I went out of town that weekend so I couldn't return till Monday. They're closed on Monday so I went on Tuesday. The lady who did my nails wasn't there so I was forced to return again. I couldn't return till Thursday and they tried to fight me on it. "Well it's been 6 days". So??? Nails should never LIFT from my nail bed! I also got some "well you should probably give your nails a break". So they tried blaming it on my nails. My nails are broken. lol She finally did my nails and expected me to pay another $35. (I had given her $15 for tip, thinking she understood I wasn't going to pay another $35 for her to fix the problem...) After 2 hours of terrible work, cuts, and bleeding fingers, I just left $20 and left. Next day, they started separating from my nail bed again. After about 4 days, I decided to go elsewhere where they pointed out mold or fungus that was growing between the fake nail and my nail because of the separation. Disgusted. read more

I've been going there for a while for haircuts and am extremely picky! I prefer a scissor cut over the use of a comb and shears, that I've seen in many other shops. I think all of the stylists do scissor cut. Lily is the gal that cuts my hair. I really appreciate the fact that she always ask me what I'd like to see every time. She never assumes and that has allowed me to experiment with different styles. No BS, it's the best experience I've had with regard to my haircuts. I've been getting my hair cut here for a couple of years. Always a quality cut regardless of which stylist works on my hair. I get clippers on the sides and scissors on the top and I've never had a bad cut. Not the cheapest in the area, but it's worth it for the reliability. read more

Yelp says it opens at 9 am, and went there at 9:30. The salon hours show it opens at 10:00. The owner ? Walks in to open the salon at 10:20. Their salon signs tell us that they do acrylics, but when I asked, they said they stopped doing it 4 years ago. The lady was a bit rude too, looked like she didn't want a customer to ask a question. I highly recommend Cupertino Salon and in particular my hair stylist Patricia! I had wanted a new style and Patricia recommended and gave me a new short haircut that she felt complimented my face shape. I now have an amazing short hair cut (over-my-ears short) with lots of movement and fun layers. It was fun to watch her skillfully cut away. I am getting rave reviews from friends, family and strangers. It is super easy to take care of, requires very little time to fix it and I can wear it parted on either side. This was my first time going to Cupertino Salon and happened to be in there with my mom who has gone to Mindy for years. My mom's hair always looks very fashionable and up-to-date. First Yelp review...My family has been coming to Mindy for haircuts for over 10 years. She is friendly and always does an excellent job. One time a parent at my son's school (who is a hair dresser herself) complimented me on how well my hair was cut. Another time, a relative visiting from England had a bad haircut and Mindy fixed it. My daughter now studies out of state and she will come home and see Mindy for her haircuts. Mindy's prices are reasonable and you will not regret going to her. We highly recommend Mindy. read more

The haircuts are decent for the price. But definitely do not go here for your eyebrows. They managed to put some hot wax on my cheek while doing my eyebrows and that part of my skin was burned for the next week. I haven't done nails here so wouldn't know. I have been going to this salon for years and while it is not a fancy top of the line salon, it is very affordable. I mainly go to Mindy, the owner for haircuts and color. Both are very reasonably priced and she does a good job. I have gotten my nails done and I have only had one bad incident many years ago with that. When I brought it to the owners attention, she comp'd me my next visit, so I thought that was fair. I have had waxing done and I have never had a bad experience with the waxing. I've been going to Cupertio Salon for over 10 years and have never had a bad experience, quite the contrary, its always been really great and definitely affordable. It's not a top of the line salon by any means but they know my name and remember family or friends I've brought with me too. I've gotten manicures (regular, gel, and gel acrylics), pedicures, hair trims, color, and eyebrow waxes here and always leave happy. This is the worst place to have hair cut. They are missing the basics. The lady cuts my hair even without applying water to my frizzy hair. So she could never make get the actual length of my curled hairs. And she blow drys hair in the middle of the hair cut to check the length. Who does that? This place sucks... read more

Horrible waxing service! Absolutely horrendous! I frequent the plaza this salon is located in and was next door one day. Against my better judgment, I decided to go in for an eyebrow wax to clean the stray hairs. I didn't do my research on this place properly but figured they could not mess up waxing off a few stray hairs. I enter and am greeted from someone in the back. I am led to a back room where two ladies are talking over their lunch. The salon is not high end so I don't expect too much with the smell of food next to the waxing bed. I am instructed to lay on the bed while the lady preps. She immediately says, "You do eyebrow wrong. You come to me 2, 3 time and I fix for you." I shrug it off because I have been trying to grow out my naturally mismatched eyebrows to have them reshaped. I just need her to clean up the area a bit without stripping too much off. She proceeds to heat up wax and then takes a swab of it and cups it up close to her mouth. She starts to blow on it directly to cool it off. I have never seen this practice done before! What aesthetician would blow on the wax like a spoonful of soup??? I start to imagine her spit mixing in with my wax. She swabs it onto my brow bone and starts waxing. Midway through the wax, she runs outside the room and returns with a damp towel. She throws the towel onto one side of my face, the freshly waxed side and presses the towel down into my eyesocket. I start squirming and make muffling noises for her to stop. She waxes the other eyebrow and throws the towel (which is neither cold nor soothing) over my eyes and presses both hands into my eyesockets. I am thoroughly pissed. No one! Not even my optometrist! Presses down into my eyesockets!!! After the waxing is done, she applies a liberal amount of Neosporin to all over my eyelids. I feel like an oil slicked grease monkey with angry red lids. Above my brow bone, below the arches...just a thick layer of Neosporin. During the wax, she kept taking the mirror away from my hands to keep me from watching her. Now I know why. Above each of my eyelids, there is a pink patch of tender skin. She ripped off or burned a thin layer of my delicate skin from each eye. My left eye has a pink patch of missing skin about an inch long and the right eye has a half inch. I AM FURIOUS! I have never in my past waxing experiences ever had a layer of skin ripped off from my eyelids. Do not EVER go here to get a wax job! I cannot vouch for their other services but I would completely stay away from this establishment. The lady who serviced me is named Xuan, just an FYI. read more
