Cupp's is the place to go in Waco for great, greasy spoon food. Their burgers are awesome, their french fries are delicious and their breakfasts make a great start to your day! My favorite burger is the chili cheeseburger. The chili doesn't overwhelm the burger, but, be warned, it can be messy to eat. Their breakfasts are just like I would make at home, but so much better because I didn't have to make it! They can be packed pretty much any time of day as the place is really small, but if you call in your To Go order or even place a To Go order when you walk in, they're pretty quick in getting it ready for you. read more

Classic small town burger joint with amazing burgers, fries and onion rings and breakfast! It is a small space and gets cramped, however that's half the charm. Its has a lunch counter and 4-5 small booths. The service is friendly and welcoming without being pushy or insincere. On one visit I ordered onion rings and they came out very brown and crispy (which I actually like) but the owner/cook brought me a new batch (without my asking) claiming that my original ones where too over cooked. What a delightful, original diner. No surprises, it's basic American food of high quality served at a fair price. Breakfasted there and was impressed, they use good quality bacon and sausage and the hash browns are better than average, certainly better than at your local breakfast chain. This is a small little burger joint that has good quality food and great prices. There isn't much to brag about on the appearance. But growing up in Texas, you learn that sometimes the hole in the wall places have the best food. Not a lot of indoor seating, but there is seating outside. Its the ideal place to order pick up. We had fun late lunch here one afternoon, my daughter was learning to drive with her permit drove to this place. We ordered burger and fries, we had fun looking at old pictures. It's fun atmosphere to eat in. My daughter overheard two senior citizen ladies talking to one of employees, one of them apparently used to work there as waitress in her heydays. Ate here this past week. The cheeseburger and fries were great! The place is highly cramped at lunch time, so I would make sure you have some time to spare to wait for a table. Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere. I've driven by this place on my way home every day for quite some time now and finally decided to give it a try. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and it only ran me about $5. The manager and waitress were both very polite and respectful even though it was obvious I had just woken up from a long night. My husband and I happened to be passing through Waco and found this little (and little is the appropriate word) place. It has 4 booths and a diner bar to sit but if its a beautiful day there is seating outside. We wanted grease so the burgers were perfect! All patties are pretty thin and made well done. I'm partial to medium rare meat but it didn't even matter because the flavor was incredible. It appeared that the fries were made from fresh potatoes (not store bought frozen). Disappointed. I saw an article about this place being one of the best burgers in town and I LOVE small diners so I was stoked to give it a shot. It's hard to find if you're unfamiliar with the area and parking is slim pickings. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings, my total was almost ten dollars. Onion rings are almost $4 a basket and while they are hand-battered they are not that great, taste more like grease than anything else. Burger was good but nothing to spaz out over. Soda comes in a can and is $1.25 for a regular-sized can. Just honestly wasn't that overwhelmed. I like the atmosphere but will probably not go out of my way to eat here again. read more

This is the quintessential old fashioned hamburger joint - small, not lots of seating (but more outside). They only do one thing, but they do it very well. It's managed well also. Great grease trap, its definitely not healthy so don't come in expecting to come in expecting to keep your diet. Their breakfast is incredibly simple, but its done right and isn't that what matters? Best Burgers in Texas. I drive from Carrollton TX to eat in Waco on my way to Austin. I have been dining there for years and just love this place. Try there homemade onion rings they are beyond good. I also love there crushed ice for there drinks. The owners run the place and are really nice and friendly. If you want a really great burger place when you are in Waco then stop by Cupps off the highway. You won't be disappointed! If I lived in Waco I would eat breakfast and lunch at this great place.
