Great place people and bar tenders are great free pool except for Friday and Saturday

Friendly bartenders. However, the place smells like vomit!! I would probably not come back here.

Cool little place. Reasonable prices and the bartender was friendly. Like the other comments though, the SMELL of vomit (or strong parmesan cheese) was just too overwhelming. We tried to stay longer, but we couldn't hold out any more. It's pretty sad that they can't get rid of the smell as it could be an occasional hangout place for us. read more

Walked in after hearing adequate things, pool, drinks, atmosphere and such The first thing noticed upon walking through the door though was an ungodly aroma, and within a minute identifying that aroma as the lingering smell of vomit My friends and I (a group of four) stood for a moment, before we acknowledged the elephant in the room and mentioned the smell and the fact that none of us would want to stay and put up with it. I get that it's a dive bar but that smell inside is really disgusting. If you can power through that awful smell you are rewarded with Cheap drinks and marginal service, assuming you haven't already thrown up. read more

Decided to check this place out since we wanted to get a little buzz before grabbing some food at Rock n Brews and it wasn't happy hour quite yet. Our experience here didn't even last 30 seconds. Bar was what anyone would call a dive bar. But prepare yourself to be slapped in the face with a sour, rotting, hot vomit smell! We took one step in and immediately turned right around. It was like their air freshener was vomit scented. It was awful! I don't know how anyone could sit in there and enjoy a drink. So beware if contemplating on coming here, unless you enjoy the smell of puke! read more

This Cups place is not a bad little spot. It's located in a strip mall which can be a little strange but in this case, it's pretty awesome because it's right next to a 24 hr Subway! I came here for a few drinks with friends and we definitely had a good time. I was afraid of feeling out of place but it was actually quite the opposite. The crowd seemed like a mix of regulars and maybe some visitors like ourselves. The majority were just around our age, so it made me feel comfortable. The music from the jukebox(I think) was enjoyable... I mean, PYT and DJ Quik, yeah, I belong here! They have pool tables and lots of places to just grab a seat and unwind. Oh, they have the biggest beer I've ever seen. My drink for the eve was rum and coke. I'm not sure what kind of rum was used but it was strong and still had a good, smooth taste. I don't know why I didn't think about going to dive bars sooner. I was a little skeptical walking in... especially once my friend and I noticed that we were on the only females in the entire bar. THAT'S not intimidating... We took a seat at the bar and the bartender, Barbie, immediately walked over. I was amazed at how cheap the drinks are compared to other places. Anddd.... I was overjoyed to learn that they sell pear cider on tap. Awesome. They had about 8-10 beers on tap, and it's $4.75 for the "small" glass. Their small is the equivalent of BWW "large." I'm sold. All the males inside the bar were mellow (thank goodness...) and one guy asked us to play pool with him and his friend. When we respectfully declined, the bartender commented that it was free tonight. We both suck at pool, and didn't want to play with strangers anyway... so we just sat and talked. The bartender even joined in our conversation. She's pretty cool. And very pretty. SMALL NOTE: Debit/Credit card users - there's a $10 minimum or they'll charge you a dollar. Keep your tab open and just get a couple drinks and you'll be set. Don't pay a fee. read more

Been here more than a handful of times now...it's everything a dive bar should be. Cheap beer, pool tables, wobbly chairs, jukebox, and weird clientele. I've always come here with a larger group, and there is almost always somewhere for us to sit. The pool tables are usually full, so get your quarters out if you're looking to play. The bartenders are always attentive and quick. The only reason I take stars away is because it's called "Cups' Bar and Grill," and they don't serve food. The first time I was there, there was a strange homeless man demanding free beer and harrassing the bartender. We stayed until closing with her and made sure the homeless man was long gone before leaving. read more

I travel weekly and have been to many dive bars all over the US. This one is one of my favorites! In addition, the bartender saved my life (maybe a bit of an overstatement)! I am allergic to shellfish and accidentally ate some shrimp that was somehow mixed with cucumbers. I know that makes no sense, but it was Korean food so maybe that helps. The bartender, Ashley, able to get me some benadryl from one of the other patrons. She continued to check on me throughout the night to make sure that I was okay. So this was a last minute decision, my friends kept talking about this place so I decided to take my girl bestie with me and check out this place. New adventure as we call it. As I met up other friends there, we walked inside, it wasn't has bad as I pictured it. The ppl there were chill and friendly. The bartender was awesome, she made me laugh the whole night. I really enjoy this bar...One of my fave bars to go to when I'm in this area. Reasonably priced drinks, and billiards. Every time I go here with friends we always meet the weirdest, most interesting people lol. It's always a damn good time. I think that's my favorite part of being at this bar are the weird people I meet. When I say weird...I definitely mean weird in a good way. Ah Cups ! I only come here with a group of people to play foosball and darts and drink a few beers. It's dark and dingy and I love it. The bathrooms also have a temporary tattoo machine so that's nifty. We bought like 2 dollars worth. People are always having a good time at the bar or playing pool. So far every time I've come the foosball table is free and it's my favorite thing to play so yay! (Bring some quarters) I recommend coming here on a night with friends when you spontaneously decide you want to go out! read more

If you are as big a fan of dive bars as I am, then this is the place for you. (And by "dive bar", I don't mean a bunch of hipsters sitting in a dimly lit bar drinking Old Fashioneds.) This place has all the key qualifications for divey-ness...cheap drinks, a fabulous bartender, pool tables and dart boards, simple décor, a great jukebox, a fun crowd of regulars, and a location buried in a strip mall...what's not to like??? And it's an especially big win, because it's smack in the middle of one of the most touristy areas in SoCal. I drive by this place nearly everyday, and I always wonder what kind of joint it would be. In a word, an AWESOME joint. Just a great, chill place to throw back some ethanol, and be either rowdy or mellow, depending on how you incline. The usual fare of pool tables, dart boards, and video games are included with the package. The crowd ranged from the young to old denizens of this side of the county. Bartender was quick on the uptake, an awesome feat considering I think she was working alone. Next time will have to check out bathrooms to see how worthy they are of nightly visits. read more

Came here last night with a group of friends. Pool cues were in decent condition and the beer was cold. $9.75 for a pitcher of domestic. They sold cigarettes which saved us from having to drive anywhere for a fix. The best part was the homeless guy who's whole ass was hanging out of his pants. LOL read more

This place smells like poop and vomit had a kid. I want to like this place but the smell is terrible!!! Please clean or do what ever you have to do to fix. The annoying tourists waiting in line were too much so we pulled up our Yelp app and found this little dive bar nearby. It was definitely dive-y (dive-ish?, dive-tastic?). Typical dive bar. I love that they have free pool. The bartenders are usually really nice and attentive. They have a jukebox type things which is always a great way to waste your money. 24 hour subway next door is great for the inevitable late night munchies you're bound to have after a night of drinking. read more

I haven't been a regular at Cups for over a year. In my initial review I did say, that one day I would come back. So I came in this past Monday since I had had dinner at the Chili's down the street. I opened the door. Walked in; noticed the carpet was gone, and then in what seemed like something out of a movie; wave after wave of this putrid stench mercilessly hit me. It smells like the punch line of an old Jr. High School joke I used to tell: Two bums are walking down some railroad tracks when bum #1 comes upon a dead cat. Before diving in, he turns to bum #2 and offers him some, to which bum #2 says NO. So Bum #1 devours the cat. They keep on walking down the tracks and about 20 minutes later, bum #1 vomits the cat. To which Bum #2 then exclaims: "Now that's what I want, a hot lunch!" It smells like that! Mind you there were about 10 people in there. How could they stand it? I walked right out. As others have said, owners, please clean up the stench. Minus a star for the stench, minus another star for others having pointed it out, and Cups not doing enough about it. read more

I've been going to cups once a month for about a year now. I'm hoping the nastey smells get dealth with, I was in thier last night for the first time in a While no such luck the place smells,as bad as ever. I bought some chillie cheese fries for $9 dollars, they were awful my good friend and I had one bite and she took them back for a REFUND BAD STUFF. The bar tenders are not bad, and thiers cool people in the dive, along with free pool. I give CUPS 2 STARS, GET RID OF THE SMELL, AND THE ASIAN COOKS I COULD GIVE CUPS 3 STARS. read more

Cups is a cute little dive bar. I live really close by and always enjoy going with my friends after work. It's the perfect hangout if you're just looking for a quick drink. It does get a little too loud inside though to where I can't hear myself think and I feel the bathrooms can be a little more secure... the guys bathroom doesn't have a door so I've seen way too many guys taking a dump.. other than that I like the bar. read more

This place is horrible. When you first walk in, you smell a combination of vomit and mildew. The chairs are all ripped and have foam popping out. The tables were lot clean, and we had to ask for a rag to clean them ourselves since the people working were useless and not friendly. The barback with short black hair and glasses was so rude the entire time we were there. She refused to help us in any way and would barely talk to us when we asked for something. She made us feel so uncomfortable that we had to leave. I will never go back, nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone. read more
