We work with over 250 individually owned gourmet food trucks to service locations throughout Southern California." This review is for the Curbside Bites located in Little Italy on India and W. B streets every Wednesday from 11 am to 2 pm.  Just across the street from Karl Strauss. Typically, there are six or seven food trucks to choose from.  The range of different cuisines is awesome.  Food from around the globe is represented.  From Greek, to Mexican.  Caribbean to Asian to a good ol' hamburger and just about everything in between.  Hell, even Dutch shows up sometimes!  A veritable plethora of cultural food to choose from. It is not the same trucks every Wednesday, but there are quite a few that make regular appearances.  You can go the website https://curbsidebites.com/ to see what trucks are scheduled for any given Wednesday.  So far we have had the food from two different trucks.  Epic Eatz, which wasn't so epic and Rice or Death which was phenomenal.  With such variety it is hard to imagine anyone not finding something to their liking.  It is great departure from the crappy sack lunch you brought to the office or the same restaurant you visit three times a week. I can't believe I haven't been here... well it's because the price is premium and I work a few blocks away... can't really be spending a lot of money on "junk food" weekly... and if I do it's in a restaurant. Anyway, I was surprised by the different trucks. I went to the lobster truck. I got the 2 lobster tacos, it was good but not exactly filling for the price. Be prepare to spend around $12-18 anywhere. Wish they had more tables to sit at. Its good to have options and food truck Wednesdays are a plus to working in downtown. read more

It's very cool that they do this every Wednesday downtown. From 11 am to 2 pm they close one small block of B street, between India and Columbia St. The trucks line up on one side of the street and the rest of the street is used for hanging out and eating. They do provide some fold up chairs, but no tables at this time. Give them some time. The food truck line up changes up, so check the website at: http://www.curbsidebites.com/ They usually have about 6-7 trucks and with a good mix of cuisine; anywhere from down south, American, Asian, and European eats. I like that there was a representative from Curbside eats there making sure things were going smoothly. Eventually, I hope they provide fold up tables as well. read more

FOOD TRUCK WEDNESDAYS IN DOWNTOWN SD. They block off B street between India and Columbia. Parking: Good luck finding parking in SD. I usually just walk from work but for those willing to drive down, there is a parking garage for the Santa Fe station near where the food truck festival is held. The entrance for the parking garage is on B st. between Kettner and India. Logistics: There are usually 6-7 food trucks that sometimes vary week over week (although there are some that you find weekly like my favorite - the German food truck Currywurst Frankfurt). You can find their weekly schedule at https://curbsidebites.com/calendar/downtown-san-diego/ I love the concept of having a weekly food truck festival - its a nice change of food options after having eaten everywhere possible for lunch. These are the only cons that I've noticed: Cons: Limited seating/tables - first come first serve or just sit curbside. Limited parking Limited trash cans Food truck options are limted if you visit weekly - either these trucks are the only ones in San Diego or they are the only ones contracted for this festival. I wish they would change it up a bit. But all in all, it is a breath of fresh air in terms of food options in Downtown SD - especially for those who work in the area. Every Monday they have Mira Mesa Monday Food Truck Gathering in the parking lot of Mira Mesa High School from 6pm-9pm Some of the food trucks to accept credit/debit payments, prices are what you normally pay at any fast food joint Food trucks there, just to name a few: TABE Super Q (Kaminsky's BBQ) Sweet Treats Devilicious Cafe Opera The Dog Shack Fresh Crepes ..and many more So if you have a family with different appetites and you don't feel like arguing on where to eat, hit this place up...but uh...on a MONDAY They do have very few tables and chairs set up, but people usually just sit on the curb by the trucks to enjoy their grub. Every Wednesday a rotating selection of food trucks line up for our lunchtime enjoyment. This provides a good change from the same selection we have everyday at work. I am very happy that this event is weekly & so close. The list online is sometimes a little misleading as it will occasionally list more trucks than are at the location or different trucks than are actually there, but most of the time it is a good guide. I would like it if they added more seating and some tables to enjoy the food truck fare. They added more seating than they ever had recently, but if there were more I could see us going every week and sitting outside to enjoy the good weather and good food. read more

Website doesn't tell you what trucks will be there. There are always at least 5 trucks but always less than 10 from 5:30-8:00 at Mira Mesa High School. The regulars are the BBQ trucks and the Crepe truck. The others come in rotations and hopefully the one you want is there! I've seen Devilicious every time I've gone but I hear they aren't always there. As with all food trucks, you over pay for small portions! But it is sure tasty, just picture how much butter and oil you would use at home and multiply it by the month you were born (if you were born before May, add 3 to the month you were born) and that is how much butter and oil they use =) read more

I've been to several of the food truck gatherings in Mira Mesa and it's a hit and miss. On average, there are usually about 5 trucks and it's questionable as to who is present. I know I've been tailing down Devilicious for months, and 2 of the 3 times times I've gone, they were there once. Follow the food trucks via Twitter and you may get a better sense as to where each truck will be and if they will be in Mira Mesa. MM Mondays are from 530p-8p-ish. They used to have the events at the Epicenter, which was cool since they put out tables and chairs for you to chill. Now it's at MM High school and there are no chairs/tables. It's basically either to-go, bring your own chairs or sit in the little patchy grass in front of the trucks. Gets expensive so be prepared to spend some serious cash on small portioned food. read more

Had trouble being the ultimate traffic warrior one day, so I took a detour towards the food trucks parked by Mira Mesa H.S. This event used to be on Mondays, but they changed it to Wednesdays from 5:30-830 PM. The food trucks at this place normally consisted of Super Q, Devilicious, Sweet Treats and Tabe BBQ. Great place to go if you're in a hurry for a quick meal... best time to go is in the summer - so you don't freeze your butt off outdoors. read more

This food truck meet up meets every Monday night in the Mira Mesa High School parking lot from 6-9 PM (5:30-8:30 PM in the summer). I fully support having gourmet food trucks every week at Mira Mesa and so should you! It adds more character and fun dining options (at least on a Monday night) to a mostly sleepy suburb neighborhood that is usually void of new restaurants that are worth trying. Being in Mira Mesa and on a Monday night, this food truck round-up is really a nice family affair. There were lots of whole clans just sitting on the curb eating and having a good time. It's nice being able to enjoy a meal with your family that will suit adult pallets and be "cool" and "trendy" for the teens. These were the trucks that I remember from last night... Tabe Sweet Treats Devilicious Asian Persuasion Pierogi Truck Slow Cal BBQ Ocean Beach Seafood Crepes Bonaparte and one more KBBQ taco truck...I think Calbi BBQ I opted to try a FOB burrito from Asian Persuasion and my roommate had himself a dessert crepe at Crepes Bonaparte. Both were tasty and a better option that my usual Chipotle, In N Out, or mexican food. There was definitely a lot of selection to choose from but I will definitely be back to get my tasty fix in Mira Mesa on a Monday night. My only gripe is that there doesn't seem to be place where you can find out the lineup (oddly enough, sdfoodtrucks.com lists the lineup for other meet-ups but not here) read more

I've been living in Mira Mesa for a couple of years now and heard about this mysterious food truck event but never been. Unfortunately, there's no way to know which weeks they will be there. So far, it's been a real hit or miss for me. Some Mondays, I have $20 in my pocket and walk over to the high school only to be disappointed by the lack of food trucks! When the food trucks ARE there, I thoroughly enjoyed their foods. There's a good variety of trucks that will please any picky eater and I love how the crowds generally bring their own chairs or sit on the curbside to chow down. It's a fun environment to be in and a great meet up. I have yet to try from all the food trucks, but I'll make my way through the selections. if you're up for eating outdoors and being adventurous with food, this is the place to go! Bring cash with you. I believe all the trucks accept card, but most will tack on a credit card fee for charging. Plan ahead by bringing some chairs/blankets or else be prepared to bring the food home with you. It gets cold and windy in the fall/winter! read more

The mira mesa monday food trucks are AWESOME! Super Q bbq is super tasty, as is Devilicious. I just tried Chubby's for the first time last week, and the fries were incredible! There are always different trucks there every week, and tons of options. Bring friends, and bring cash (some trucks accept credit/debit, but not all do). No matter what you like, there will be a truck for you--and deciding where to eat is half the fun! read more

I arrived at about 6:30pm and my boyfriend and I tried the Calbi truck (3 tacos - 2 beefs and 1 tofu). They were on the small side, but hey they are street tacos so what do I expect right? Although I don't think they had enough sauce, so they were a little dry. It was a bit of a wait, maybe 10-15 minutes until our name was called? I'm thinking they had just finished cooking up a batch of meats before us (I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt here). We also had the super q's brisket salad. I thought the plate was pricey $8.50, but it was yummy, just not a big portion. There was no waiting to get our plate here. read more

I like Mira Mesa Mondays because it is very convenient and its on the way home. There is plenty of parking and places to sit. The only bummer was that the FreshnEasy free sample food truck was there but won't be carrying on as a regular mobile vendor. Their vegan taco was AMAZING! i wanted more and would've paid. Other than that, Sweet Treats is awesome, as well as Two for the Road and God Save the Cuisine! read more

Nice addition to our little neighborhood of fast food restaurants... I especially love the Cousins Maine Lobster Truck, The Viking Truck, Bad Ass Burgers, Calbi and Waff n Roll. Good selection most Wednesday evenings, although once in a while a truck on the schedule doesn't show up. That's why I didn't give this 5 stars. Otherwise, it sure beats cooking!! read more
