First time here and it was really cute, clean and inviting inside. I arrived right when they open and had the lunch special for only $9.99. I had a burrito and fries! The fries had a tasty seasoning on them and the burrito was filled with flavor. I loved their blue berry soda...had to get a refill to take home. Service was decent and if I am in the area again I'll return.

Fried chicken sandwich with Indian spiced fries.

So upon entering this place around 1230p I was shocked at how dead it was. The person behind the counter who I guessed was the manager welcomed me. I told him I hadn't been here before and needed a few minutes to review their overwhelming and way too busy menu. He started berating me with questions, to the point I almost walked out. After he finally shut up, I was actually able to make a decision. I got one of their lunch specials, a fried chicken sandwich and fries. Took a little while to get the food. I know this isn't a fast food place, but again I was the only customer in the building other than one other couple who appeared to have already been served. Once I got the food, it was very tasty. The fried chicken was a little soggy but I looked past that. The fries where very good too but a lil heavy handed on the spice. The dining room was very clean and had been decorated for the holidays. I asked the manager as I was finishing my meal if it was normal for them to be this slow on a Wednesday afternoon during what would normally be a lunch rush. He said it was a little too slow for his taste but that they had enough to-go orders (DoorDash and so forth...) to keep them busy. Not sure how much I buy that but good luck to them anyways. Bottom line, will probably be back but the manager needs to allow customer to feel welcome at ease.

Lunch Vindaloo Bowl (takeout lunch box) - lamb vindaloo, lentil curry, rice. Bag of "Fryums" (mexican duritos that go well with this).

Very tasty food. Just about the only establishment in the Triangle where you can order a meal that has multiple items in it without paying buffet prices. I live alone and rarely eat Indian food because I don't want to have to pay $65 for 3-4 entrees and then have leftovers for as many days. The menu is mildly fusion but still significantly Indian. The lamb vindaloo was tender chucks is a spicy brown gravy. The lentil dal and yellow rice (turmeric?) were standard issue. Array of fountain and bottled beverages was more imaginative than the standard fast food chain. Seating area simple but elegant. Definitely worth a visit for quick casual dining. The counter person and kitchen staff looked happy to be there, which shows in the food and service.

This was our first time coming here and we'll def be back. The service was warm and efficient. There's lots of great food to try. We ended up with the Behl Puri, Samosa Chat and shared a chicken tikki masala burrito. Everything was super tasty. They serve Maine sodas for fountain drinks. The seating was comfy with the padded chairs. I hope it does well because the food is so yummy.

Restaurant was very clean and organized inside. Staff were nice and helpful with ordering since it was my first time. I definitely enjoyed my meal. My meal had the perfect amount of flavors and spices. The rice was cooked perfectly. I dined it and my meal was brought to me quickly. The juices were okay could've been better. They have cute mason jars and I decided to purchase one. Next time Im in Raleigh I will return here. Definitely a great option for fast Indian food.

Met a friend here for a week day lunch. It's located in a retail/residential area that seems to be becoming more popular. I wish they were around when I was in my 20s! Plenty of parking and easy to access. The interior (and exterior!) were very cute! I loved the decor and the ambiance. The gentlemen behind the counter were super helpful and were very excited to explain anything on the menu that we didn't understand. I had glanced at the menu before we went so I kind of knew what I wanted. I ended up getting the mini samosas and the chili garlic naan. There was more that I wanted to try but it was a little pricy to me. The food was delicious and the presentation was great! I was impressed with everything that I experienced here. As we were leaving I saw a special on the door that I failed to notice on my way in...it was for a lunch special, El Jefe I think?, and I will definitely be coming back to try that. It looked like a great value.

Returned twice now since my 1 star review. I'll keep this short for once. The actual "street food" items were amazing. The tandoori chicken sandwich is my favorite hands down. Never had anything like it cuz no one makes such a sandwich. The seasoned fries it comes with are amazing too. Tried some different "chaats" and they were really tasty too. Tried their guac out of curiosity and it was fresher than most Mexican places. Glad I gave this spot another chance. I didn't try the burritos again because that's too much risk to pay for it and be disappointed so I suggest the items I mentioned!

    Paneer pizza

Heard about this place recently opening and had to give it a try. We ordered ahead of time to go which made things a lot easier. The Pav bhaji was great, though def had a stronger ginger taste. The paneer pizza was okay. The paneer didn't really taste like much but the sauce they used was pretty good. The samosa was good but they came cold and had to heat them up which I did not expect. Overall the food was okay but I think they have a lot of promise to grow once they figure out what they are doing. Atmosphere inside was very clean and felt like a fast casual restaurant. Food prices were average for that area. Plenty of parking. The staff was also very friendly when I went. Overall I think the food here is okay but I also think it just needs some time to figure out their processes. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other dishes at another time.

    Chicken tikka masala burrito

I came by to grab a free burrito on their opening day. There was a line out the door so I had to wait for a little while, but once I ordered, the food came out fast. I chose the chicken tikka masala burrito but a lot of their other menu options looked good too. The burrito had really good flavor but it was so spicy that I could barley eat it. I have low spice tolerance and always ask for spicy dishes to be made mild, but I wasn't expecting this to be spicy (there was no indication on the menu that it was) so I didn't think to ask. The meal itself was good, but personally I would've enjoyed it a lot more if it was mild/not spicy - but now I know for next time!

Came in here for takeout for a quick meal before a car ride. Staff greeted me when I entered and asked if I had any questions. Very helpful with any questions that I had. Inside is pretty big with lots of seats that I waited at while waiting for my food to be ready. The menu had a variety of items and I had difficulty choosing what to order. I ordered the chicken tikka masala burrito. It was actually pretty filling. Flavors were good. Waited about 10 minutes for my food. Price was okay, maybe a little more than I wanted. About $16 with tip. Overall this meal did the job and was quick.

Service was great, it's a clean and pleasant place and the food was fantastic. I'm a vada pav fiend and their version was fantastic -- perfectly fried patty with a butter toasted bun. A quick ladle of their delicious hot sauce and it was awesome. Shared the papri chaat with my wife and it was a bit soupy but tasted great. She had the lamb burrito and loved it -- it's huge and will be two meals for her. Also (and potentially the biggest selling point) -- they have a Maine Root soda fountain!! All you can drink blueberry soda!! I love this place

First time visiting. Portions are very large for the price. Was able to feed a family of 4 for around $50 and had leftovers. Really enjoyed our food and the employees were very helpful explaining the menu when ordering at the counter. Will be back to try other items.

Fantastic place with an amazing menu. Staff members are so friendly. The food is delish! Place is clean and cutely decorated. We will definitely take a drive from Cary to tryout other things on their menu.

Paired with the coconut chutney and sambar, it felt comforting and authentic without being overly heavy. The chutneys tasted fresh and well-balanced, and the sambar had a nice depth of flavor. The Mysore masala dosa was the standout for me. The dosa itself was beautifully crisp on the outside while still slightly soft inside, and the spicy red chutney spread added a great kick without overpowering everything else. The potato filling was well-seasoned, not too oily, and had just the right amount of spice. Every bite had a satisfying crunch followed by warm, savory flavors. Overall, everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. If you're craving South Indian food, this spot definitely delivers--especially for dosa lovers. I'll definitely be back to try more from their menu. The place is nice and looks classy. And when I last lived in Durham 30+ years ago, having Ethiopian on Main Street Durham was unimaginable. But Durham on so many levels is a completely different universe. Goorsha is a very pleasant small dining room off a welcoming bar area when you come in. It was overcast and cold this early March day but the outside dining must be lovely later in the spring. We had a very helpful waitress answer a few questions and the food came quickly. The Sambusa appetizer should have perhaps taken a bit longer. The edges were crisp and tasty as was the Deko sauce it came with. But the center was still a bit cold so a bit more time was needed. I wanted beef tibs and went with the Zilzil tibs knowing there would be less sauce and danger of staining my work clothes. They were plentiful, well-cooked if not powerfully seasoned. They were quick to bring ample powered pepper so I could give it some kick dipping each injera enveloped bite for some added heat. The winner was my vegetarian dining companion who went with the very flexible pick three from many vegetarian options. They were a distinct yet complimentary troika of richly favored dishes. At least for lunch, Goorsha goes with individual plates rather than the traditional round platter family style so familiar in Ethiopian cuisine. It definitely worked for us given one of us was a vegetarian and the other all tibs all day. Definitely very glad to see it just across the street from Brightleaf Square and one of the earliest areas converted from tobacco warehouses to fashionable eateries. Glad it is part of the Durham eating scene.

On the buffet I tried a variety of dishes. The chicken Tikka was the best dish I had that day. Good flavor, great sauce, and seemed to have good quality chicken. The chicken curry wasn't as flavorful as I expected. Pretty one dimensional. It could really use some heat. Tandoori chicken was also bland and not hot, temperature wise. I tried a few of the vegetable stews. They were all fine. Take out from here may be a better option, but for a quick and cheap lunch, it worked. The location is unassuming, at best. You enter the side of a building and then go downstairs. Doesn't really look like much from the outside. It's clean but very outdated. Some of the seating area is used for storage. This could definitely be more appealing with some effort. Service was good. Since it's a buffet, you don't need much but my plate was cleared quickly after I finished. The lady working answered questions I had about items on the buffet also. Overall, it was a good experience at a very good price.
