The girls here are just the sweetest. I've had three technicians and they were all great. Reasons I like Curvy Lashes: 1) Kind and gentle techs w/ well done application (no clumps or unevenness) 2) Comfy beds and good music 3) Easy to get an appointment and you can text instead of call- I have even texted same day and they always try to squeeze me in if not the next day. 4) They offer Venmo payment for quick and easy transactions 5) Affordable and they have a decent rewards program! I also had my wallet recently stolen that had my almost filled up rewards card in it. They kindly back-stamped all my previous appointments so I wouldn't lose any of the points. SO NICE! My only real qualm is I feel like the glue used has not been as effective on me. I have had my lashes done at maybe 10 places with varying degrees of longevity. Curvy lashes is somewhere in between, requiring 2 week fills for me (I generally like to go 3-4 weeks if the glue works well with my lash hair). *Special things to note: -I believe it's cheaper if you pay with cash or Venmo over credit. -There's three beds in one room so there may be multiple clients at once. It's not noisy per se but I recommend head phones if you want to nap like I do during my fills. -The price varies by how often you go in and the amount of lashes you choose. I went for a eyelash perm and tint. It was a very comfy office, but the end product was very disappointing and actually has made my morning routine so much harder. The top lashes on my left eye look much much different than the top lashes on my right eye. The ones on my left essentially stand straight up to the point where I can feel them on my eyelid. The ones on the right don't look much different than they did pre-treatment. And the tint was only on my top lashes (every other salon I've tried does both top and bottom). So my request that I didnt want to have to do my normal mascara routine in the morning over the next month while on vaca and traveling completely backfired. I have been going to the owners (Sayaka) business for about 7 years now, even before she had this business. Granted in the middle, I stopped going because she got sloppy in her work but I went back to give another try and she's gotten better with experience. After this recent time though, I won't go again. I had an emergency where I had to cancel and was charged the $50 fee. I know business is business but I had to sit with my mother in the ER that day. I brought my mom to her once too. I thought being charged under these circumstances was not fair. I was gunna do nail extensions and designs which would've been $150+ so it's not like she was really going to lose out. I had to cancel a lash extension appointment about two months before, but that was my own fault that I couldn't make it. I paid the fee with no problem or complaint. This was only the second time I had canceled. I know I'm not the most puntual client, but that is my own fault. Canceling because my mom was in the ER where I had to be with her AND you charge me for it makes me very upset. I will not be coming back in the future. I'll take my business else where. read more

I've been here twice now purchased a Groupon for eyelash extensions and a fill-in. My first time was with Meg. All I have to say is wow! She was excellent did the best extension job. I wanted a little extra 5D because I was going on vacation. I have to say I was so surprised by the excellent job. They lasted me over six weeks! The only reason I went back was because my fill-in was going to expire. I definitely could have prolonged it for two months. I've been getting extensions for Two years and this is the first time when the extensions would come out my own lashes would NOT. Today I went to Rika for a fill in and asked for a little less Then my last set. She gave me the most beautiful 3-D wispy extensions. I did C 11-13 with Sayaka. She was gentle and when I described to her what I liked, she was able to do a really great job. It was my mistake to get C 11-13s though. Too long for me and doesn't look as natural as I wanted. The spacing was perfect. I don't like mine too full so I got the 160, 80 each eye piece for 90$. Cash only. They give you a card and the more times you go, the more discount you get. I got a full set which took about an hr. They use a rental room a part of a big office floor, 2 beds in the room. Not all eyelash perms are created equally. Live and learn. I went in to Curvy Lashes during their Christmas promotion to have a lash perm for $45 with Sayaka. This isn't my first time here either. I've been way back when they first opened but I can see the experience and results are not the same. I won't be back. The biggest reason I'm upset is that I actually don't see a difference between the lash perm and my regular lashes. I see some other Yelpers have had a similar experience. I also chose the L curve which is the most extreme option and I couldn't even tell anything was done. My permed lashes look like my normal uncurled lashes--I could create better results with an eyelash curler myself. I'm no stranger to lash perms and I know the look should be more dramatic. So basically I threw $50 down the drain (I still gave a $5 tip) and now I need to use an eyelash curler to get the look I want. Very disappointing. Secondly, I don't appreciate the lack of customer service. I tried cancelling through their scheduling app the night before and it wasn't working. They texted me telling me there was a $50 cancellation policy which I think is ridiculous. Life happens and their lack of accommodation and flexibility left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand that someone books time with you and I'm happy to pay a penalty fee but even high end spas will charge a fee for about half the service, not the entire service+ more. Curvy Lashes was one of the first places that did lash perms in this area but now there are better alternatives. I recommend you do your research on other places first, read the less than 5 Star reviews on yelp and then decide for yourself if this is the right fit for you. I, myself, was misled by all the positive reviews and now I'm stuck with lackluster lashes before the holiday. read more

I got an eyelash perm done by Saiyaka. I stopped into their location and made an appointment a few weeks in advance. It was easy and you can text Saiyaka easily. The space is small but clean and you definitely get an intimate feel that this shop is run by few and not a lash factory so each client will be handles with care. I hadn't gotten a perm done in years, and Saiyaka did a good job of explaining the process, results and aftercare. I did perms with Lavilash way back when which were fine but feel the perm here was much less stressful even relaxing maybe - sure you smelled the perm chemicals but it was truly handled with care (I couldn't tell because they didn't smell that bad). I never really felt the solution would risk running into my eyes and my eyes were properly closed the whole time. Saiyaka sat and supervised the whole time. It took 45 minutes which was quick. You can perm either naturally as a C curve or straight up and I choose straight up since I really have short lashes and want to use them for curl versus length. I did feel the perm for sure looked curly (some the inner corner lashes weren't as good). I plan to use good mascara for length and thickness. Saiyaka said it would last 4 weeks (longer than extensions) and not to wet your eyes for 24 hours, and use oil free makeup remover etc. same case as extensions. While I think extensions are more dramatic and make you look awesome I simply can't afford to upkeep them since they are $100+ a visit. I think curvy might have a happy hour where it's half price during like 1-5 weekdays but I'd never make that. Also I wear glasses so extensions sometimes get in the way and with the perm the care is much easier esp if you're active and still like to wear eye makeup. Cash only. Highly recommended! Prefer the independent places over the lash factories. Think the ladies here may do real Japanese gel manicures too. read more

The worst place! Do not waste your time and money. I'd like to give them a zero star if I could. I've been there with my mom 2015 for her nails. I've never forgotten her name, SAYAKA took care of my mom's nails. But one of stones that she put on her nails fell off next day. We've never experienced such a things. We contacted Sayaka but she just said "I'll fix them, just come back" we lived far away but we went to see her again to get fixed. But we noticed that some stones were gone in 2-3 days after she fixed them. The two best things about this place: 1. it's only 1 person at a time so all of Yuki's attention is on you and 2. the results are natural lookin fluffly lashes instead of having them clumped together. I had gotten my lashes permed at Lavilash before and while I liked the results, as they became more popular, the quality of service declined. I just hope Curvy Lashes won't go the same way, although it probably will based on how many Lifebooker vouchers people purchased. When I first walked in (I had the first appointment), Yuki greeted me with a bright smile and before I even laid down on the bed she asked if I had brought my voucher. I think probably 99% of her business is through lifebooker. The bed wasn't that comfortable and I kept twitching because I wanted to dose off but was afraid to, and I didn't want to all of a sudden move my head or anything. The way Yuki does the perming is very different than the way the girls at LaviLash did it. She kept using solution to stroke my eyelashes individually, instead of just leaving it sitting there, which explains why the results are very natural. Today is the 4th time going to Yuki to curl my lashes. I've bought the 2-pack perm package twice so far and couldn't be happier! Each package was $49, which came out to $24.50 each visit. Too bad the perm is normally $75 a pop, or else I'd be more inclined to feed the addiction. Since I don't wear makeup unless it's for a special occasion or an interview, this is a natural way for me to look fresher without the hassle of curling & applying mascara in the morning. It's so worth it since the curl lasts almost 2 months! I've let Yuki take rein with deciding what type of curl to use and I've never been disappointed. Whether or not I end up with a C-curl, J-curl or L-curl, my lashes look extremely natural. If you have a preference, I suggest you let her know beforehand because she's never really gone out of her way to ask about my preference. She's very soft spoken and doesn't really talk unless it's to tell you how long the setting times are. As for the actual perm experience, Yuki plays soft relaxing piano music (I've dozed off and been scared awake by the timer a couple times). The "bed" is covered in a satin-like material and is pretty comfortable. Yuki is very meticulous about preventing chemicals from getting into the eyes, but I felt some burning right below the lash line that dissipated after she rinsed off the chemicals during today's session. I'm not blind, so I guess that's a good sign! I'm glad that her main location is now in a room situated at the back of the Capelli D'Oro salon @ 123 5th Ave. It's a lot more inviting and chic than her other location, which is in a somewhat rundown building. *Review is about service* I was really excited to try this place, especially after reading the glowing reviews on yelp, so when I scored a lifebooker deal ($39) I was all over it. I booked my appointment weeks in advance, but found out last minute I couldn't make it because of work so I called Yuki a few times to cancel but couldn't reach her so I let it be even though I will be losing out of my money (my lifebooker was expiring that week). Next thing I know, Yuki calls me and starts yelling at me about how I didn't call her (when I did many times) and I thoroughly apologized for wasting her time to which she said wasn't good enough. She is rude and completely unprofessional. It felt like I was dealing with a whining child who couldn't get her way. I was extremely nervous about my first eyelash perm experience. It's letting a stranger come so close to my eyes with unknown chemicals! But the owner Yuki was so knowledgeable and gentle, I ended up dozing off during the process. They're pretty serious in keeping their appointments and it's clear to see why: Yuki spends the entire hour-long process in the small private room with you. She doesn't leave the room even during the 15-minute setting times. The room was clean and cozy, complete with candles/decorations/ambiance music. Yuki was extremely gentle when brushing my lashes back on the foam rod and brushing the chemicals onto my lashes. She was careful not to put any chemical on my eyelid. I was happy with my results. My lashes were curled back and very natural looking. No side effects or irritation at all. The curl lasted about 1 1/2 months. I came here with a Lifebooker deal for $39 so it was a great deal. The lashes are super thin, light and good quality. And normally they can last for 3-5 weeks. Normally I barely write comment. But I was really impressed by the girls here. I have super sensitive eyes. Last time I told the girls that I had a little allergy of the strong glue they used, then I recommended a glue brand for them. I recently got my lashes curled with Yuki. I set the appt last minute but she was very accommodating about it. She was very professional and meticulous. She did an excellent job with my eyelashes. This was my first time getting an eyelash perm so I didn't know what to expect. When they were done I didn't see what the fuss was about, but when I got home, I put on some mascara and they looked amazing! I went to this place last week to get my lashes permed. I was greeted very nicely by one of the ladies at the door. They tell you to lie down and close your eyes. Once they start you can't open them until it's done. So of course I pretty much nodded off for a few minutes hehe I was so relaxed. They had nice soft music in the background. It took almost an hr i believe. There was another girl getting hers done in the room as well. Overall I had a great experience and both ladies were soooo sweet and seemed happy to do their job. My lashes came out great too. Once you are on the 2nd floor you have to find the room they do it in because there are several rooms. One of the men there told me where it is. I lived in NYC for the summer so I needed to have my lashes re-permed while in NYC. I chose curvy lashes and made an appointment the morning I would be leaving to fly to Paris. It worked out perfectly because I lived in east village so I just took a short walk over to her location. It scared me st first because I had never been to their "room" but I was comforted when I got to the correct room in the building and saw the two girls and the beds. I fell asleep during the perm and woke up with the BEST PERMED LASHES EVER. I still TO this day think about curvy lashes.
