Loved the banana walnut seven grain bagel with the raisin nut cc. It was dessert and a meal all in one sandwich. The exterior is chewy and the interior soft. While it's not Ess-A-Bagel, it sure does beat the wannabes at most of the other chain bagel cafes (about par with NY bagels) in the area. I have been going to this bagel place for years. Their bagels are delicious as well they make a very good chicken salad and tasty Italian loaf of bread. For morning events, I periodically bring these bagels into my work. My coworkers consistently rave about how good the bagels are and request I bring in more. The place is packed Saturday morning from all the late night State Street fun looking for a breakfast sandwich and very busy during the week days during lunch caused from the courthouse traffic. My first trip to Custom Bagel will not be my last. I parked about a block away and when I got out of the car I could actually smell the fresh bagels. I'm a NY transplant, so my standards are high when it comes to bagels, but this place is good. They don't take anything but cash and I was 40 cents short, so the gentleman behind me made up the difference. People are SO friendly in Media. Maybe it's a good thing they aren't open on Sundays; I'd be spending way too much time at a sidewalk table. Go; try them. You won't be disappointed. UPDATE: It's possible my first visit was a fluke. Been back two more times and the bagels were, at best, so-so. They were too soft all around; no crunchy crust so I asked to have mine toasted. To me, toasted doesn't mean warmed; it means toasted. They make the best breakfast bagel sandwiches. It's not just the fresh bagels... the eggs are light and fluffy. It's a Saturday am treat. Okay, this is a true honest review: This is my favorite food place. Not just my favorite food place in media, I mean EVER. I LOOOOOVE Custom Bagels. I would recommend it to anybody. They can make whatever sandwhich you want. I've probably been there a hundred times. Their chicken salad is my personal favorite. We get it to go and eat in a park, or for school, or on the go, or in their out door or in door seating. Their bacon, egg, and chesse bagles in the morning are awesome too. You must be aware however that they aren't open too too late...about 2:30. This isn't bad timing but it's just so you know. Also, a well kept secret are their chocolate chip cookies...they are to die for!! You must try one! Everything is made fresh daily. The people who work there get up super super early and work really really hard. They are very friendly and a great local business to support that works really hard.
