I was contacted by the office the day before my scheduled appointment to confirm my appointment and then was asked if I could come in a hour earlier and I said that would be ok. I arrived prior to my new 10 o'clock appointment only to be told I had been scheduled at 11. The receptionist said she didn't know what happened but I could wait or reschedule. Since I had previously adjusted my schedule for the day to reflect a change I had to make a new appointment. Not sure what has happened at this dental office, but it is dirty, water stains on ceiling. The bathrooms are always overflowing with trash. The receptionist are not friendly. They do not give you options as far as pricing for crowns, etc. they just try to make you pay the highest amount. This used to be a great dental office, but I will be changing dentist. My last visit the dental assistant hit my face with the water/sucker several times during my procedure plus the dentist (not Lin) kept getting water on my clothes. read more

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SIT WITH YOUR CHILD WHILE THEY HAVE ANY WORK DONE. Let me tell you since the office won't. We wasted 6 weeks of waiting for treatment only to be told this once my child was in the chair during our 2nd appointment. Not on the phone when making an appointment. Not during the 1st appointment. Not when making the 2nd appointment and not when confirming via telephone the appointment. They also advertise laughing gas an an option but won't use unless 18+. Our co-pay was handed to us and when I questioned the high price was told "that's all your insurance will cover". After questioning it twice was finally told it was for the white fillings our insurance doesn't cover (for baby teeth) which we don't opt for and never discussed. The office is pretty and clean. I unfortunately could never trust my children with this level of lying by omission and lack of communication about a huge rule in the office. My children are never unattended with adults, medical degree or not. We are now trying to play catch up since we wasted so much time counting on this office. read more

Recently took my 5 and 3 year old in for a regular cleaning and xrays. Dr. Kobliska was amazing and the dental assistants were so patient. So happy to have found a dentist office that is great with kids but can get you in for an appt within a reasonable time frame! I'd highly recommend Dr. Kobliska! read more

Very sad to have to lower my rating if this place, but in the past 2 years or so it's really gone down hill. I got used to seeing a new dentist pretty much every time I come as none of them stay for long, but for at least the last 3 visits have seen the same one. I'm tired of the dentist talking to me like I'm 9 years old. This time I had a new hygienist that had no idea how to polish teeth. She kept catching my lip and wasn't always making contact with my teeth. There was a super long wait for no reason and my partner who was called in before me hadn't been seen as they forgot he was back there! I asked why it was taking him so long and got some made up stories. They told him there was "confusion", as in they were confused about how they forgot about him. May need to look for a new dentist. read more

Walked in today for my kids checkup and teeth cleaning and they gave me a bill for $100. When asked what the charges were for, they said it was for missed appointments from July 2020..... Appointments that I never received any phone calls to confirm or reschedule. I tried to explain to Jessica (Office Manager) that we did not get any phone calls about the July appointments. Jessica was extremely rude and very unprofessional. When I ask to speak to her boss (The Owner... Dr. Linn) Jessica said that he will not speak with patients about office/billing matters. Update 02/16/2021 - I called to confirm appointments for tomorrow afternoon. Receptionist Cassandra confirmed we were scheduled. I wanted to confirm that I can accompany my minor daughter for x-rays and cleanings; as was permitted 6 months ago by Dr. Lin. Cassandra informed me that this would not be allowed, only the patient can be present for xrays and cleaning. I told her about our visit 6 months ago and said I'd have to cancel our appointments if I cannot be present with my daughter. Cassandra's response was "so you want to cancel your appointment?" I replied "Yes" and she promptly hung up. I am currently looking for a new dentist and awaiting a return call from Dr. Lin. You guys were doing sooooooooooooooo well..... this new staff has ruined you. read more

I has a right upper molar crown replaced in March, 2018 by Custom Dental. Five months later, and it's still doing great. This was my third crown for this tooth. The two previous crowns were done by a large nationwide chain (W.D.) who had a same day appointment. That was a mistake, the crowns were ill-fitting and came off soon. Dr. Huang at Custom Dental show me the x-rays of my tooth and pointed out the ill-fitting angles from my two previous prep-work. When Dr. Huang reshaped my tooth, the new crown fitted like a glove with minimal adjustment. Wow! There was no pressure, no under-bite, no uneven surface. I highly recommend Dr. Huang and Custom Dental for your dental needs. They are worth the wait, even if you cannot get a same day appointment. read more

I would give negative stars, but that's not possible. I went here when I first moved to Bakersfield. I was told by them that my insurance covered the basic exam. I then was told I had 4 cavities. I left without work done for a second opinion. The next dentist said I had 2 and I haven't had any since. This was over a year ago. 1 year later, I received a bill for over 200.00 stating my insurance did not cover. This is very surprising considering that I specifically asked them to verify. two deceitful lies I was told. And who send a bill 1 year later!!! I received two notifications of the bill and then placed on collections. These people are dishonest and I will never ever recommend them! short story: they try to make money off of you by diagnosing unnecessary dental work and two, lying about what you are covered for and doing the work and billing you. stay away! read more

This office so far is pretty amazing, I recently switched dentist due to my regular dentist moving out of Bakersfield.... the front office staff worked with my busy schedule and was able to get me in asap even though I rescheduled twice due to being ill. They are super sweet and have good customer service skills, that goes a long way in itself!! The Dr was very informative, didn't rush my appt, answered my many questions, was very detailed and thorough. I'm writing this review to warn people from undergoing unnecessary dental work that could damage your teeth. I had recently moved to Bakersfield & needed to find a new dentist. I have always gone to the dentist regularly since I was a child. I also brush & floss daily. I take very good care of my teeth. Dentists remark about my beautiful teeth at dental appointments. I haven't had a cavity in 16 years. This is why I was surprised when Custom Dental diagnosed me with 6 cavities. After this diagnosis, I decided to get a second opinion. Another honest dentist in Bakersfield reviewed the x-rays & said I had no cavities. Obviously I trust the dentist who is not trying to make money off of drilling into my teeth. read more

Since my first visit to Custom Dental it has not crossed my mind changing over to another dental office. Custom Dental has a very welcoming environment and a Professional Team who takes excellent care of my teeth. Every time I've been in for a check up they have proven to value and care for their patients. I am very pleased with their good attention and communication. They sure make my visits smooth sailing. On My first visit my gums were not very healthy and I needed a very good cleaning. As of now I have not needed major work done to my teeth other than a filling. I was looking around for Dental offices that accepted my insurance (but also seemed trustworthy and had decent online reviews) and came across Custom Dental. I called their office and was able to get an appointment for a cleaning today so that was convenient. Overall I had a wonderful experience! The wait was no more than 10 minutes, the x Ray technician made me feel comfortable, and the Dentist Dr Sun was very professional and also set my mind at ease, as I get very anxious even thinking about going to the dentist.. Plus, the cleaning didn't hurt AT ALL like other places I'd been to, and they had a movie for me to watch during the whole thing which was a nice touch! All of my questions were thoroughly answered and even questions I hadn't even thought to ask were given clear educative answers which I very much appreciated. I also appreciated the dental hygienist for being gentle cleaning some of my teeth that have fractures and are more sensitive. I will definitely be returning. read more
