This is a relaxed, friendly place in Camden that seems to cater to the locals...and we appreciate that since so much of the rest of the town, while lovely, can be over-run by tourists in the summer months. We hadn't been here in forever so we recently popped in during Happy Hour which starts at 3. You can get a plain cheese or pepperoni pizza for $5.00 each and it's a buck off of beers. There are Happy Hour discounts on some of the appetizers too. For a late lunch or mid-day snack, this place is tough to beat. Our group got one cheese pizza, one pepperoni pizza and a pitcher of PBR. Pizzas were large. The service is friendly and prompt, the beer cold and the pizza pretty darn good. They have a wood oven out back which is continually stoked with hard-wood for cooking needs. Downstairs is the main dining room. Upstairs there is a bar, pool tables and music. Perhaps best of all, while it was busy, it wasn't jam packed; no line, no wait, nicely air-conditioned. First time visiting this restaurant and will be the last. We were told we would have a table in 20 minutes. Well, 40 minutes we got a table. We were squished in the back and could barely fit. Then, no one served us until I had to approach the front and ask what was going on? We waited over 15 minutes and the waitress kept returning to the table directly to our side and behind us. We recently made it to Camden for the first time and chose Cuzzys as the restaurant to try based off the pub fair and variety for the kids in our group. We were told that the pizza was amazing so we got a few options to try and they were definitely delicious. I opted to try out the loaded chili nachos and was pretty disappointed. The chips had a stale texture and there was almost zero flavor from anything other than a little jalapeno. I do not recommend trying them. I do however, recommend the pizza. The crust had a great crunch and flavor and the sauce was great. The establishment is as is expected although a little dirty and sticky. The service was pretty decent as well. Our waitress was really sweet and attentive. We would return for the pizza for sure but I don't think we would go for much of anything else. read more

My wife and I went there for dinner on the 4th of July. Granted it was a busy night, but we were seat quickly. Wait staff was pleasant and rushed. My wife had a Ceasar salad which was okay. I ordered the panko baked haddock sandwich. The fish was dry and the about 3X3 inches in size with a pale tomato and a bit of lettuce on a rather tasteless bun. This was $19.00. Cuzzy's is a goldmine find. If you love lobster, like I do, and you appreciate fair market value in your dining choices, then you're home! The lobster was a generous 1 1/2 lbs (most places limit you to one pound -- at a higher price. Quality, value, friendly service...a winning combination. Our waitress was great but the food was awful. Our Caesar salad was swimming in dressing and about a third of the lettuce was brown, my grilled cheese with bacon was not grilled, but just bread heated up with barely melted cheese and bacon that was in inedible. such a huge disappointment. also, the music coming out of the speakers was so loud that we could barely hear each other speak. we don't go out very much so this is a real letdown. read more

Cuzzy's is an awesome place to stop in when you're in Camden and have them steam you up a lobster you bring in and get some sides with it or a pizza. I did that with some friends and wow was that a deal! I stopped in for a late lunch had the place to myself in the offseason, only locals around. I had the beer battered haddock Ruben with coleslaw and the fries. Wow was it the best, course that was not on the menu, but I ordered it that way and they made it for me! Wonderful! They might even put my version of it on their menu, nice hint! This is a place I will always stop in and grab a bite when I am in Camden visiting or working. A very solid pub with above average food. I wasn't expecting much. Cuzzy's was one of three places we found open on a Monday night in Camden at 6:30pm. We waited about 25 mins to get in, and I was pleasantly surprised by the vibe inside - oldies music playing, dining downstairs and more of an open bar area upstairs. The drinks came quickly and were spot on - a nice strong gin and tonic and a Moscow mule with actual ginger beer (rather than ginger ale). The food came soon after. My husband got the bacon Swiss burger with mushrooms, and I had the haddock sandwich with the fish blackened instead of fried. Both were perfectly cooked. I was impressed by the quality of the fish and the flavor - just enough blackening spice to make it pop. His burger was medium rare and had a nice charbroiled taste. We enjoyed everything so much that we opted to add onion rings to our order. They, too, were very tasty - not too oily. This place is a solid 4.5. Our server was also upbeat and responsive. Rude staff Was in the area for the weekend figured we would stop in and check it out. Played pool a bit had a few beers. Tried to order food during shift change and food ended up being ordered twice because the first bartender had apparently already put it in or so we thought. When I brought it it the attention of staff, once she was done chatting it up with two other people and ignoring the ones waiting, she said 'well it was already made. You're stuck with it'. I even asked her 'has this already been put in or do I need to put it in with you'. Instead of checking she just rang another in. And there was no manager there on a Saturday night to talk to. What kind of place has no manager working on a Saturday night? Do not recommend unless you like awful service. read more

Oh I hate writing bad review but feel it's my duty when things are terribly bad and wrong. I knew when we decided to head to Cuzzy's that it's bar and pub food. Grew up In Camden and very familiar Witt the food scene. Ordered cheese sticks to start that were cold on the inside when they were served should have known that they rest of he meal was not going to go well. 2 orders of chicken parm both with cold mozzarella placed on top not even melted and pasta was so no good neither person ate the pasta. I had a salad with grilled chicken and near the end of my meal i pulled out a long hair. Made my unhappy and ready to walk out. Waitress was very nice and didn't want to cause any disturbance. Just decided to make it a one and done. Pub food cab be very good but this was a disaster. Clearly we were unhappy and I do not recommend eating here. Thank you for the response to my review. This place is a local hangout with a pool table on the second floor. The menu has the usual pub fare like burgers, brick oven pizza and fried sea food. I love hot wings so i ordered the "atomic" wings with a beer. The wife got fried baby shrimp with fries. The waiter was polite and fast. The draft beer was not cold. The wings lived up to they're "atomic" rating but the flavor threw me off with chipotle lime as apposed to classic franks red hot. They haunted me all night. There are a few great restaurants in the area but since I was in a rush and forgot to make a reservation at any of them... I decided to make a stop at Cuzzy's. Management must be trying to cut back costs as the lone waitress was running around the restaurant frantically trying to do a lot of nothing. Our group ended up seating ourselves, no utensils, no water.. just waiting to be noticed. When we were finally noticed... we were informed that the fryer was broken and that half the items on the menu were not available. Good for me.. I had my fix during lunch (see my Red's Eats review). I was tired and cranky but more tired than cranky. I ordered some comfort food. Half a rack of ribs with some bar harbor blueberry soda. The ribs were done really well. The meat fell off the bone and it had just the right amt of spicy and sauce. The thin crust pizza was also very popular. There was a lot to be desired by the end of the meal but I have to say the food was decent. A 2 star establishment with 4 star food. If you end up like me wandering the streets of Camden without a dinner reservation.. you can at least know you can fall back on Cuzzy's without having to starve. read more

This is the bottom of the barrel for Camden. The calamari, pizza, and burger were all honestly terrible. We went in with a good attitude and came out the opposite. Once again: An older woman walks into a bar/restaurant alone. The sign says "Please wait to be seated." She waits. Three or four staff members rush past, avoiding her eye. She stands there for five minutes or so. Nobody says, "I'll be right with you," or "Are you being helped?" I don't like being treated like that. I know you are busy and probably understaffed, but it doesn't take any time to at least acknowledge someone. Not a welcoming experience. While camping nearby, I wanted to drink a beer in Camden. Since they posted serving Guinness and Blue Moon, I was looking for to a "Dark Side of the Moon". After sitting at the downstairs bar for about 10 minutes with no one even acknowledging my presence, I decided to check the upstairs. Wondering around, I noticed a bar beyond the pool table. So heading that way, I was rudely scolded for interrupting a game of pool (lady was just racking the balls). I sat down at the bar and again waited to be served. The bartender finally ask if I wanted anything? Uh...yeah! So I asked for my special beer and she didn't know what it was. So after describing it, she said they were all out of Blue Moon. So here I am at Sea Dog Brewing Co enjoying a flight of their brews. A much friendlier place to drink a beer! read more

Day 1 of the Windjammer Cruise Trip Left Phoenix mid-morning and nine hours later arrived in Camden, Maine for my 5 day Windjammer sailing trip. Immediately went looking for a place to eat (10:30 pm). As most of us accustomed to big city life would conveniently forget, in small towns like this not much stays open after 8 pm. I did luck out. Just a block away I found Cuzzy's! As I walked in I was told that the kitchen was about to close but they would be glad to serve me. Ordered the lobster roll (when in Maine that's the item of focus). I was so hungry that I quite enjoyed it. But my alter ego kept insisting that it was nowhere close to some of the best lobster rolls I have been fortunate enough to enjoy in the past. But with limited choices you go with the flow. Loved the place. Staff was friendly and courteous. But I cannot give more than 3 Stars. Nonetheless, happy to have my tummy taken care of. Looking forward to tomorrow to venture out on to the ocean. Cheers! read more

Never been more rudely treated at the host stand of a restaurant. The place was not full and no one else was waiting. We waited 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. He said, "it will be a few minutes before I can talk to you." The few minutes passed and that person did not reappear. I asked another staff member if we could get a table. He replied "it'll be a minute." When five minutes passed, I called out to that person who was nearby behind the bar and ask whether we could get a table. He barked, "No. Too busy." We then went to The Waterfront Restaurant where we were warmly greeted and served by a very pleasant server, and had a delicious meal. As I said to the last person who spoke to us at Cuzzy's, "We''ll remember how we were treated" -- meaning, we will never be back. read more
