I picked up my son's prescription, today (Jan. 28 at around 4:30 pm) and asked the "pharmacist" (asian woman) if it is on automatic refill. She said she could not tell by just looking at the bag. So, I asked if there was a way for us to know. She said, yes, and directed me to go to the prescription drop off window. Thankfully, there was no line and the woman there asked if I had a question. So, I asked. The woman looked at the bag and said, yes, it was on automatic refill and showed me where to look. There was actually a note on the bag whether it is on auto-refill or not! Now, there's only two explanations: 1. The "pharmacist" was not listening during training; or 2. She made it difficult for a customer--to get her jollies? I don't know, but, there has to be more customer relations training. read more

This review is for the pharmacy and the Minute Clinic: 1) 5/5 for being open 24/7. It may get busy, but this is average for every other CVS I've been to in Southern California. Nice staff but maybe overworked or understaffed. Imagine if the phones rings non stop and you are out 1 co-worker with no back up. So: check peak hours, call first to check status of your pick up, sign up for text alert etc. Do mail order refill for your medications instead when you can. 2) Minute clinic: The NPs (nurse practitioners) are professional, nice, & thorough with their visits and exams. 5/5 for staff, ease of online appointments and check in, wait times. Some people do not understand the difference between clinics versus hospital ER versus doctor's offices. Minute clinics are for minor things like sore throat, earache, sprained ankle. If you have a true emergency that may cause loss of life or limb: go to the emergency room if you are not calling 911. They have the staff and equipment to diagnose your condition. If you are not sure where to go: call your insurance nurse hotline first, they will triage your situation and direct you to the appropriate level of care. If you are not insured: google free nurse hotline, some hospitals have them as free service to the public, you can call in and be anonymous, they will still help you. read more

I had an appointment for a covid test at 1130 and I had no one even talk to me other than telling me to wait in my car. People got there after me and left before I even got tested. This is one of the busiest pharmacies in the area, and for good reason. They are fantastic. Above-and-beyond service, always pleasant and professional, and I can coordinate with them online, by phone, by text, or in person. Of course YMMV. My prescriptions make me a very mellow and pleasant customer. If you're there to pick up an emergency ointment for some horrible private (heh) malady you may not have the same experience I always have. Nonetheless, they are very good at what they do. DO NOT GO TO THIS CVS. WORST CVS EVER. Ever. Literally, ever. I wish I could give less than one star. I started using this CVS, even though it is a 10 minute drive from my home, because of the 24 hr feature (I'm a former cancer patient and you never know what prescription you'll need in the middle of the night.) Instead of ranting and raving, I will simply list the infractions off the top of my head. I'm sure there are far more, but these are the ones that stand out the most: * Paxil - I can't take it. It puts me into a 3-day coma. Guess what?? They FILLED my prescription AGAIN for Paxil, even though I specifically told them to delete it from their system. And what do I get? MORE PAXIL. Dangerous, considering I have two kids who are not yet old enough to drive me to the hospital. I had to flush it down the toilet. They then refused to refund my money. * The line is always 10-deep, no matter what time of day. The waiting is agonizing, and the front-desk staff are horribly unorganized. Even more annoying is that they obviously do not care. Their lazy behavior is clearly evident from the other side of the counter. UM, HELLO, WE CAN SEE YOU. They stop and have lunch and social conversations mid-service. They just. Don't. Care. Hence the incredibly high turnover. As soon as I finally get used to someone, they're replaced by someone else. They roll their eyes at their customers and act like we're a huge inconvenience. Fine. Eff you, then. * Don't EVEN BOTHER giving them a pick-up time. Your prescription will not be ready on time. I promise. It won't be. One of them actually argued with me that I told her I would be there at 6:24 pm to pick up (it was about 6:15, I had told her 6 pm, and I had already been waiting 15 minutes). UM, NO. Who picks up at 6:24 pm? She lied to my face, and to the rest of the employees and customers. Way to throw your customer under the bus to save your own ass. You disgust me. * The minute clinic is useless unless you need a health report for camp or something. They told me OVER THE PHONE that they had flu shots, but when we showed up, they told me that they didn't have flu shots. Okay guys, which is it?? Go to Walgreens. They're $10. * They filled my son's EAR medication and labeled it to "apply to his eyes twice a day." Oh yeah? You want me to put my son's EAR MEDICATION IN HIS EYES, TWICE A DAY??? I'm sure he'd love that. Luckily someone was paying attention. Oh, right, me. His mom. The one not putting his ear medication in his eyes. * I reiterate that I am a former cancer patient. Last year, when I was weak from chemo and completely bald, they treated me horribly. They made me wait for hours, put other people's prescriptions ahead of mine, and did not offer me an extra chair (when the other 3 were full) or a glass of water or anything. Sometimes, after a heavy dose of chemo, it's nice to sit down while you're waiting for the pills that are keeping you alive. Just a thought. I had to wander around until I found a place sit down in their wheelchair dept. Nobody offered to help me. Nobody looked me in the eyes. They were upset that I had used their wheelchair. * I have had an entire check-out experience that involved my checker having a discussion with a co-worker. She did not greet me. She did not look at me. She rang my products up, and then continued her conversation. It was up to me to discover the total, pay, and bag my items myself. This transaction was simply too belittling for her to be involved in. Not only are they uncaring, unorganized and completely rude, they are also dangerous and unfit to be handing out medication. This pharmacy should be completely overhauled or shut down. I am never setting foot in this CVS again, nor should any of you. read more

I'm sorry, I gotta downgrade here. I'm seriously getting fed up with this place. First, the women's bathroom is downright nasty. Seriously? Do something about that! the staff who work in the store part (not the pharmacy) are just lackluster. Zero personality/friendliness. If you hate your job, get another one! And, the prices can be ridiculous. Why is a Hot Wheels car TWICE the normal price (as one example)? I come here for the pharmacy because it's 24 hours. That is what the draw is. Apparently, that draws EVERY OTHER PERSON WHO LIVES WITHIN A 50 MILE RADIUS, too! Because, I am seriously sick of waiting in a line ten deep EVERY time I come. Okay, I haven't tried coming between 1am-5am, but seriously, no matter when I am there "it's just a busy day". In fairness, on Monday afternoon, they did have a lot of employees back there working, but that isn't always the norm. I feel like if it's always that busy, you need more staff. It is ridiculous to call in a prescription and have the option of picking it up 8 hours later and you have to wait 45 minutes to get it once you're there... after your 15 minute wait in line to ask for it. That is just not acceptable. Clearly, there is a management issue in that pharmacy. While I was there a man came to pick up his driver's license which he had apparently left there two months ago and NO ONE EVER EVEN CALLED HIM FOR TWO MONTHS! He had already replaced it! Now that is some serious customer service! I will say that in all the chaos that is the CVS pharmacy, there is one bright spot. Connie is awesome. I'm not saying the other staff are not nice or helpful, because many of them are... and some are not. But, Connie always goes out of her way to help and she empathizes and does whatever she can to diffuse tricky situations - like me going postal. That lady needs a raise. Okay... rant over. Get a grip CVS.... time for some improvements. UPDATE: AND they now lock the bathroom and you have to find someone to let you in... when you've been driving for two hours to get there, you gotta pee. this review is for the Pharmacy only! I used to live in Escondido, and this was my go-to pharmacy. I was visiting my parents and needed to refill my prescription. before we left for cali I called my CVS here in Honolulu to try and refill because I would be out when we got back. I had just refilled it a few weeks prior and was told by my CVS that it could not be refilled and to try a CVS in cali. ok, no problem! I called this CVS, and was told that they were not contracted with my insurance so I would have to call my insurance to find another pharmacy.....ummm, ok. I called my insurance and was told that CVS was in fact contracted (yeah, cause I use them in Honolulu. lol) luckily the insurance rep I was talking to was very helpful. long story short, my prescription was transferred from Honolulu, to esco, but could not be found anywhere. oh and every time the rep called this CVS she was told that they weren't contracted, so she had to tell them a million times they were. she was put on hold forever which would put me on hold with her. it was a MESS!! finally she found out who pulled my prescription, and I was able to speak to the pharmacist John, who was very helpful. Kudos to him!! after an almost hour long phone call with my insurance and both CVS's I finally got my prescription, but believe me I will never try to refill another prescription on vacation again. read more

I came to this CVS to fill a prescription for my 8-year-old son. The pharmacy assistant who helped me at the drop-off counter barely acknowledged my presence, had a relatively long and involved non-work-related conversation with her coworker while I was standing there (frequently halting the work she was doing to turn and respond), and seemed annoyed when I said I'd stay until it was filled (I didn't want to have to drive back). She said the wait would be two hours, but 45 minutes later I received a text message notifying me that it was ready for pickup. I waited in the absurdly long line to pick it up, and then was glancing at the drug info while I waited for the pharmacist consult, when I noticed that the prescription they gave me was for 30mg when it should've been for 10mg. When the pharmacist came over (a very kind older gentleman, he was the only positive aspect of this visit), I asked him about it. He found the original prescription I had given the woman earlier, and he realized that she had mistaken the amount of pills (30) for the dosage, even though it clearly said 10mg. He apologized profusely for the error and fixed it quickly, but it made me lose all faith in their pharmacy. Making mistakes is human and to be expected, but when it comes to making sure the dosage is correct in the drugs you give people, I feel like that's a pretty big, potentially pretty serious mistake. read more

This is for the pharmacy... I had my nurse call ahead to have a new prescription filled for a patient of mine. They told my nurse it'd be about an hour. I got there roughly an hour later to pick up the medication. I was there for approximately 1 and 1/2 hours with a few "it'll be 5 more minutes" peppered throughout the wait. It was very tough and depressing to stand there in the middle of the day for that long. Unfortunately for them observing the way they worked just made me sadder. I feel like it's a business that's been given up on and it's kind of the opposite of everything I want to be - inspired, energetic, etc. I always write my reviews before reading other people's entries. Sounds like there's something real going on here. Hope someone does something about it, I don't want to feel the way I felt there for a long time. read more

I have to agree with other reviews here, worst pharmacy I've ever used. I live nearby so I've given it a few chances and they NEVER have my prescriptions ready. This last time, my Dr. calls it in at about 12:30, so I give them 30 minutes then call to see when I can pick it up. I literally had to hold for at least 20 minutes and about 5 different people asking if I'd been helped before someone came back and said they had no prescription from my Dr. I told them I knew he'd called it in 30 minutes ago, so she says "Ok, call back in 15 minutes and we'll check our voicemails." Sooo, call back about 20 minutes later, again, on hold for at least 15 minutes before they say "Ok, we have it, come get it in an hour." So I go in an hour, girl at pick-up tells me they have no prescription for me and go over to drop-off. Ugh. So I go to drop-off and she says "Oh sorry, it wasn't started yet." So yea, worst pharmacy ever... seems like something like this happens every time I go. Time to find a new one. read more

Absolutely Terrible!!!! Even after your doctor calls in your prescription over 6 hours in advance, expect to wait another hour once you get there. They will tell you 15 minutes, but in actuality it is more like 45-60 minutes and good luck hearing your name, the man who calls the names over the intercom is like 90 years old and you can hardly understand what he is saying. Also, watch out for the pharmacy workers who cough and sneeze all over their hands, not to mention wiping their runny noses. Ever hear of the cough rule where you cough in the elbow, I think not. I was completely and utterly disgusted by this place. I wasn't the only person with this problem, there were several other people who had been waiting longer than I had, it wasn't until I walked up to the pharmacist and refused to wait anymore that they started to actually do their jobs and fill my prescription. I will NEVER go to this pharmacy again and I highly recommend that you to reconsider if you are thinking of going here. read more

Seriously the worst. The hospital connected me to this 24 hour CVS pharmacy for a prescription, but guess what, it's their lunch break! 24 means 24, not 23. I guess just hope you don't die while they're eating their lunch? Their advice? Call the hospital. Hospitals advice? Call CVS. Nothing like being jerked around while you struggle for breath. I spoke with Sandra who seemed to want nothing to do with helping a customer in need. I guess she figured working the night shift would mean she didn't have to actually help people. Worst pharmacy ever....... This pharmacy does an enormous volume of business....why can't they figure out how to handle it? Every time I've had to go (its the closest to my father's home), it's been a test of patience. A doctors office sent over a prescription, I waited an hour and went by to pick it up, waited 20 minutes in line only to be told they didn't have it and I'd have to go to the drop off line to have them find it. Waited another 20 minutes to be told by an unfriendly staffer that she couldn't find it. I called the doctor's office and they said it had gone through but that they would call again. came back an hour later, waited in line and was told it would be another 20 minutes!! This CVS location isn't what it used to be. It smells funny throughout the entire store, it's dark and dim-litted (except maybe towards the back of the store), and the overall feeling of being in here just doesn't feel right. My mom and I came here to get passport photos taken together and while the white-haired lady who helped us didn't mind helping us, my mom forgot about her glasses on top of her head, and we needed to reshoot the photo. Simple fix right? We re-shot the photo. The second time, my mom's photo came out blurry and the employee seemed annoyed and actually didn't see anything wrong with the photo. This photo was straight blurry, people! Anywho, we re-shot for a third time(!) as requested, then we left. If they're going to give an employee a camera to shoot passport photos that will stay with you for 10 years, that employee should have an idea of what an aesthetically pleasing photo looks like, as well as proper training! read more

I only go to this CVS Pharmacy to fill my prescription. The other day, they quoted an hour until my prescription would be ready. It was ready in 30 minutes and they sent me a text message. Vy was working when I dropped off my prescription. She was nice enough to look and see if she could get me any discounts on my prescription because my insurance does not cover it. My review is only about passport photo services that they provide. The rest stuff I usually can easily find myself and do self checkout. Lost my receipt (I'm human) got accused of stealing the item, got called incompetent for not getting an electronic receipt (the option wasn't offered to me) and then told a story about he got threatened by a shop lifter. This is a 24 hour CVS with 24 hour pharmacy which is really nice however the employees are hard to find if you'd like to buy something and also very rude. I've been into this store quite a few times at all hours as it's our pharmacy however every time it's the same. Either you can not find someone to check you out at the register or the checkout line in a 20 minute wait with a single register open. The pharmacy also always has a very long line. I will say though that the pharmacists are quite nice and knowledgeable. read more

If u ever need your prescription filled, make sure u dress appropreate, and do not look suspicious. John the pharmacist refused to fill my meds because I look suspicious, and my whole transaction looked suspicious. He also sis that if I did not come and get my script to fill out somewhere else, he will tear it up, then I would never be able to fill it. My meds were a controlled substance, for a knee replacement, and I certainly DID NOT deserve to be treated like that. I will no longer be doing business with this CVS EVER again. If i could give it mo stars I would! I rarely write a bad review. But this has been going on since April! I wanted all my meds synced so I dont have to make mulitple trips. Every month I am making muliple visits because it hasnt been synced. Each time they tell me ok it will happen next month. Its December...guess what? They have told me things just to pacify me, and when I ask a question I am sloughed off. The other evening they were out of particular medicine in my strength and told me I would have to wait a couple days until it got there. It was a medicine that I cant skip or go without. I told her I didnt care how they give it to me (in muliple pill form) i just couldnt go without. She said I cant do anything for you. Then I asked to speak to a pharmacist and waited for 10 min and ended up with another tech. She did resolve the problem by giving me multiple pills for each dose.
