Don't fill your prescriptions here. They are sassy, rude, and tell you one price and charge you another. The cashier asked the lady who took in my prescription if she said $22 or $28 and she said, "IDK I told him whatever I told him!" After I said thank you for the help and telling the cashier that was extremely rude, nothing was done. I paid a higher price for idk why and I don't even know if I had to pay anything. Ridiculous. Well besides the fact that the Pharmacy here isn't the best and that they try to constantly give you medications that one is no longer taking, they have a lack of parking lot security when this is REALLY needed here. Two times now I have experienced 2 different, deranged looking homeless men approach my car. The first incident was this month. I was with one other person (we are both women) but the homeless guy literally came up to the driver's sit door and started to knock on the glass. He demanded we open the door and give him money. He didn't want to take no for an answer. It was the first and only time this has happened to me in Los Angeles. The second time was just 5 minutes ago, another deranged looking homeless man came up to the car and asked me to open the door. He was carrying a a giant torch lighter with him. It was really scary and on both of these occasions I was genuinely fearful something further was going to occur. CVS please address this issue and have MORE THAN ONE security guard (not just the one inside) that patrols the parking lot. This is not cool. People shouldn't have to fear for their life just to go to CVS. read more

This my neighborhood CVS Pharmacy. I am so impressed with the customer service! This review is like 5 stars for customer service. Their manager always helps me with my case of waters to the car and everyone is always friendly and greets me at the door. They make sure I get all my digital coupons applied. And then today when like I discovered they stopped carrying several of my brands, the staff member gently and thoroughly helped me figure out some new options (I was about to totally lose it) and looked up what I was looking for and was super helpful. It's a high-traffic store. It's not the prettiest, but they do have some stellar people working there. Great job!!!! read more

Their selection is little small in my opinion. But very convenient when you need something in the middle of the night. (Right now is not 24/7 but usually is) Some homeless people outside but there is a security right at the entrance of the store so it is nice. But the pharmacy there is questionable. My doctor sent prescription and I went there after 30 mins and they claim they didn't get a prescription when I have a confirmation email of prescription sent. And they told me back to come back after 1 hour then it turned out I had to wait 2 hours. After 3 hours and still not rest. OMG read more

I wish I could gove less than a star. This is unfortunately the closest store to me that sells some of what I need. As someone with severe anxiety, I dread coming here. I never look forward to it. The employees catch an attitude with you the moment you pull out a coupon; and god forbid you use two forms of payment! The smug employee behind the register seemingly couldn't comprehend the idea of using two forms of payment , and was rude with me when I told him I have used two forms of payments MANY times before at this same CVS. When I asked for him to bring somebody else over to the register, he brought a lady who actually seems pretty good at her job, if it wasn't for the fact she blamed me for not knowing that I had to let the cashier know exactly how much money to charge on my first card. Downtown has a lot of office building, but there's always lack of pharmacy or grocery store that carry daily usage items. This is basically in the edge of downtown not walking distance to major of attraction in the area. It is good way to stop by if you happend to meet someone in the area, there's a lot of parking space in this CVS. It only share parking with Jack in the Box. I don't there's time limit but there's a security guard there. So double check to insure the time limit to avoid getting toll ! I've been coming to thus location for years and what a great way to show customer appreciation by rejecting my exchange request. Also current member for both Extracare and CarePass. We needed to restock a few items that ran out during our lockdown. So instead of going stir crazy, we went here to pick up our milk and eggs. We saw that they've been out of Clorox wipes or disinfectant spray. So we asked, and they were able to grab us one that wasn't on the shelves yet, but we're being restocked. I'm trying to get a Square card reader. The web site gives a map of all the stores where you should be able to pick one up for free. I've gotten them for free before. But this place is trying to capitalize on it. So I'm standing in line waiting for my free reader. I have to be escorted to a glass case where they have them locked up. They have a price tag of $9.99 on the readers with a savings tag under it saying you get $9.99 back on store credit. That's not equal to free. I ask for a supervisor and was told they were all in a meeting. So what? Finally they call somebody. This guy comes out like some big shot. He thinks that expecting the card reader for free is a joke. He asks for proof. Then he gives me an example of how someone came in and bought ten readers and got $100 store credit (as if that were some kind of deal). That fool spent $100 and got $100 worth of products. He must love to waste money. CVS prices are higher than most and the card readers are free anyway. I hate when businesses try to pull a fast one! They must take their customers for fools. I just ordered one online for free. I'm good at boycotting shady businesses. I live and work nearby. They just lost hundreds of dollars in business from me. read more

This is the best CVS that's close to DTLA. The CVS in the Los Angeles mall is a joke compared to this one. This one must be twice as big with a better selection. I really like CVS, especially when they have sales and with coupons. They have a well-sized lot here and I never have a problem with parking. The only negatives about this CVS is that it tends to bring sketchy people around. There is almost always someone outside the door asking for money, which I have grown immune to since I have moved to downtown, so it doesn't bother me as much. However, one night when I came here, there was a knife fight in the parking lot. Yikes! Of course, the security guard on duty didn't do a whole lot to stop it and, of course, people felt it would be better to take pictures and video of the fight than stop it. However, I still come here. I really like the CVS pharmacy because they fill my prescriptions pretty fast and send me a text when the prescription has been filled. I also like the staff that work at this pharmacy because they are friendly and very outgoing. There is ample parking and the inside of the store is neat and organized. The only complaint that I have is that there is always panhandlers outside the store. read more

Why so many bad reviews?! Is it all the hobos outside? The crowded Jack n the Box drive thru traffic? Or the long ass line of Hispanics and Hipsters buying cheap booze at all sorts of random hours?! Yea this place is sketch sometimes, but for the most part has never failed me.They are open 24 hours and have most of the basic things I've ever needed and oh my pharmacy is here now too. Expect I hear the pharmacy isn't open 24 hours, fail! Fine I won't lie I mostly come here for the booze because whiskey is always on sale, and they have a parking lot. So it's much easier to come here and buy a pack of PBR for $7.98 and get cash back then trying to find parking at any of the local Bank of Americas ugh. Sure some things are overpriced, but like I said it's open 24 hours and almost always more convenient then going anywhere else. Oh and they sell alcohol until 2am! so you can keep partying after the bar or club! They have recently remodeled it, so they have self check out! which is awesome if you're not buying alcohol. It's clean and pretty well stocked, and the employees and security are always nice and helpful. But like I said I mostly give this place 4 stars because of the booze deals and cash back. Aye aye aye what can I say about this place? The homeless people at the entrance asking to squigee my clean windshield. The slow cashiers with the look of boredom and death on their face as they slowly ring you up. Which is, by the way, the cause of the long ass lines. The annoying security guard that stands and hover over me at the self checkout - "dude, I just wanna buy my crest and tampons". The tiny parking spaces in front of the store. I refuse to park there because that is where the drunks park so crooked that they will ram your car as they leave. So i park farther away from them in the spaces facing the street. As far a pharmacy's go, knowing what time your business closes in my opinion seems important. Calling a pharmacy to confirm the order is filled, getting good information seems important. However that is not my experience Feb 28 after calling to confirm the order was filled the pharmacist failed to mention that they were closing in five minutes. We drove 30 minutes to a closed pharmacy. We could have avoided that. Getting medicine is important. If this were life threatening or some other immediate emergency who knows the outcome. Failing to mention this kind of important information seems like something pharmacist / employees should know. Further March 1 approx 10:30 the pharmacy manager showed little concern for this oversight. In fact it wasn't until we got to the manager on duty Marietta that we actually felt like we were dealing with someone with. I would like to take this time to applaud Marietta for engaging our need and addressing the situation with tact and service. CVS please train your employees to show this kind of tact also. I've been to this CVS numerous times and I've never had an issue with any of the employees, pharmacy or photo department. This store is HUGE compared to the one that I usually go too. They have tons of items, which is a bad thing for me because i usually spend about an hour or more looking for things that I don't need and will probably never use. Be sure to scan your cvs card, get those coupons to work. I recently made a purchase for $7.00, only paid 50c! Yes 50 cents. Let's keep in one thing in mind, this CVS is located in downtown, across the street from Dodger Stadium and right before going into sunset town, you will ALWAYS see hipsters, dodger fans, homeless people, drunk people and weirdos!! I'll admit, my order was a little bit of a challenge with 242 prints, but I thought a designated PHOTO CENTER should be able to handle that, right? After I submitted my order online I never got a confirmation that day, so I called them the next day and they said, "Oh yes, I see your order. It says there's an error." OKAY THAT'S GOOD TO KNOW, MAYBE DID SOMEONE WANT TO TELL ME THAT ANYTIME? NO? OKAY THANKS COOL YEAH So I asked what I should do, and the woman told me to resubmit the order. Thank goodness that I didn't have to re-upload all 242 pictures on the website or I would have screamed. I submitted the order again. I waited 2 days this time for confirmation, never got it, and then called. Again, "Yeah there was an error with your order." So I just gave up on it and forgot about the order, because I hadn't already paid for it and I put it off because this was just for a pleasure project, nothing immediate. Then, after I'd all but forgotten about my order, THREE WEEKS LATER, I get an email that my order was processed. Great, right? Well no, actually. First off, the 8x10 I ordered was not printed (they took that off my total amount) and nearly half of the photos were doubles, which I did not order. The doubles weren't even printed one after another--they were scattered throughout the whole order. They had all printed randomly, whereas the way I uploaded them had been in a specific order. Also the pictures that I uploaded through facebook all came out terrible and were zoomed in or cut off. And even the quality of the prints from my nice DSLR were just okay. I would NEVER, ever trust this CVS to process my photos again. read more

On my way to work or home this is one CVS store that I usually use. Open 24 hours. Staff can not be the most friendliest but it has gotten better in the last year or so. Plenty of parking but it can get hectic during the day. They have self checkout stands that don't allow you to purchase alcohol but the last time I was there I mentioned to the staff on hand to make the sign bigger. As for the self checkout stands where you place your items they should be a bit bigger or else the machine will not allow you to continue with your purchase until your previous items are weighed. The pharmacy is run by a confederacy of dunces. God, are they slow and nonsensical. I made an appointment online for the new shingles vaccine. I got a few email reminders of the appointment leading up to the date. I showed up at the proper time only to be told that they are out of the vaccine and it is on backorder. Also that they have been out of the serum for quite a while. Between that and the crack heads in the parking lot, and the morons who tie up the parking lot waiting for a space at the front door because they want to avoid having to waddle 50 feet to the entrance. Another one for the photo department ! Do not ever go there ! I've ordered photos online, I got an email telling me that they're ready to be picked up an hour later: great ! I come there 2 hours later and the folks there have no clue what I'm talking about. They try to print my photos (6 pieces) but hey, they're suddenly out of photo paper! Well, I'm told that the paper's actually on its way and they'll call me as soon as it arrives. SECURITY GUARD THREATENS TO BEAT UP MY BOYFRIEND!!! i wish i could give 0 stars. my boyfriend and i were buying groceries, snacks, and a couple small items like a hairbrush, shaving cream, cosmetics, etc. We put everything in our cart that fit and my hands were full of the stuff that didn't fit. I kept saying to my boyfriend this security guard is following us everywhere and it's making me mad because we were not doing anything wrong. Every aisle we were in he showed up. Once we got to the front to checkout and we were getting rung up he got extremely close to my boyfriend and my boyfriend asked him could you please stay 6 feet away from me and he said no. So my boyfriend asked why are you so close to me? The security guard tells him I need to check her purse which i say "what my purse"? but open it and there is nothing in there and then he tells my boyfriend to take everything out of his pockets and all he had was his credit card and since his pants didn't have pockets he made him show him if he had anything in his underwear which he did not. we found this to be extremely violating and he kept saying we stole stuff but wouldn't say what we stole. We had like $300 of stuff we were about to pay for but the security guard kept going on that we put stuff in our pockets and must've put it back. My boyfriend began to take a video of him for what he was saying and he came at my boyfriend and hit his phone out of his hand and said let's take this outside. At this point we just wanted to leave but the guard is still saying you think you can steal stuff and record me. When we went outside he took off his security jacket and said to my boyfriend come over here "i'm going to show you a real ass whooping" to which i responded and he said "n**ga i don't care about no job". another worker came out asking us to take our problem somewhere else which was weird because it was one of their employees acting violent towards us. We told him we were just trying to leave and the security guard was like then leave as if he hadn't been standing in front of our car threatening us. We have all of this on video and when i called the store back requesting corporates number they asked if we could not call corporate and keep it a store matter and that their manager would call me. I still intend to call corporate because this was inexcusable and very terrifying for us. A security guard should never get violent or aggressive with a customer. I asked them to play their cameras back so they could see how crazy he was and that we didn't take anything when we were leaving since we were too afraid to stay near the security guard. Before you wonder why I'm writing a review for the CVS down the street, it's both for shits n giggles and a just a little bit of actually commentary on them as a store and staff. My roommate and I used to go in ALL the time (we go waaaaay less now) and we are the most loud and obnoxious pair you will ever hear roaming through the aisles of CVS. Odd as it sounds, this place becomes retail therapy for me. (wow how deprived do I sound?) In the morning there's this one really grumpy old lady who WILL NOT SMILE. I can't get her to even make an attempt or like a sarcastic... I DONT KNOW! I always smile and say to have a nice day or thank her very much. I'm very polite and this woman looks like her face is set in stone. I seriously cannot get her to be polite. I've tried on several occasions believe me she is not just having a bad day. Oh and the pharmacy in the back isn't thrilling, but it gets the job done. There's one hispanic girl that schooled me with her attitude over my name and info in the database not matching the information I gave her because apparently I have a doppelganger hanging around DTLA/Echo Park and she goes to the same pharmacy as I do. And the whole time I was saying that's not me, that info doesn't match, it's my first time here... she was giving me this attitude as if I were some identity theft. First time using their pharmacy too. Killer first impression I'd say, but what choice do I have when such a convenient walking distance from my home? At the end of every trip there we leave wondering if they recognize us because of the thousands of times we've gone in, we never even get one of the cashiers talking to us or even ask us how our day is... Not that I need someone from CVS caring about my life. It's just good customer service and kind of strange considering we've been frequent visitors for about a year now. read more

Review based on Pharmacy only. The pharmacists and technicians at CVS on Sunset are completely incompetent and incapable. I have been here every month for the past year and still, they manage to screw up my prescription every single time. Oh, let me count the ways. When I call in to the automated machine and enter my prescription refill, it is never ready when promised, even if I call in a day ahead of time. When I receive a phone call that my prescription is READY for me to pick up, and I show up expecting to receive my prescription right away, I am told that the ONLY pharmacist in the whole building is out on lunch break and I have to wait up to an hour for her to return. I would not have wasted my own lunch break if I had known it was NOT READY. They can never answer any questions on ANYTHING I ask them, like the different types of prescriptions, generic brands, etc. I understand they cannot recommend anything to me without knowing my medical history, but I was just asking about the generic alternatives available for my brand name prescription. I have literally wasted hours here waiting for my prescription. The people working here are slow and never have any answers. I refill the same prescription every time so it should be easy and hassle-free - however every time I go it's a crap shoot whether or not I will receive my prescription on time (more often than not, I don't). The only reason why I even bothered writing a review for a friggin CVS Pharmacy is because their service is deplorable, and if I had read a review like this before I started going there, I would have thanked the reviewer profusely for saving me hours on my lunch break. Am now looking for alternatives like mail order so I never have to deal with the Pharmacy team at CVS on Sunset ever again. read more
